Name: Alexis (Alex) Burke Davis
Occupation: Captain of the MSV Victoria
Appearance: As the captain of the Victoria, her demeanor as a captain is a contradiction; unlike most captains or other leaders, Alex tends to have a slight slouch when she’s off duty, while many others in the military tend to keep their professional and respectful demeanor. Although she doesn't have a sharp demeanor off duty, on duty she proves a point; her entire tone changes, her back is straightened and she makes sure her crew knows whose boss.
Though many aboard the ship choose not to wear the mercenary uniform, on a day of duty she wears her uniform in pride and respect for the Black Holes. The uniform consists of the merc-group colors; black and red, the uniform has a shirt and cargo pants along with it. Along the middle of sleeves of the t-shirt there is a thick bright red stripe on either side, the entire shirt is mostly black, but it is dynamic due to the red stripes. On the top left side of the shirt there is a small pocket, which Alex uses to carry pens. Even though paper seems very outdated, she’s always been a girl who loves old school, 21st century things, such as music and movies. The uniform’s pants are a simple cargo pant that has a similar design as the shirt; along the sides of the pants is the same red stripe vertically down the pants, the pants have many pockets; two cargo pockets on either side, then two regular pockets on the front, and two back pockets. Alex never really caries anything in her pockets, other than a credit chit. The boots are black and laced; they reach up to the mid-shin area, and around her boot is a velcro strap that holds a knife, ask her about it and she'll show you the gun shoved in the back of her pants and reply; "What? Oh...you can never be too safe."
If it weren't for Alex's uniform and dog-tags, no one would probably know she's the captain of a MSV. Aside from her natural slight slouch, she is shorter than anyone would imagine a captain to be; she is around five foot four and a half, for her own comfort level she claims five foot five even. Although shorter than most anyone on the crew, her size is misleading; she has a certain air of confidence that would make a krogan think twice before fighting her. She's gotten into a fight with a krogan once, and she got a battle and has a scar over her few good hits in before he body-slammed her into a nearby wall. She couldn't match the krogan's strength, she sure could outrun a krogan any day, but once inside a krogan's grip, it would be almost impossible to get out of. She left the fight bruised and with at least broken bones in ten different places; she unfortunately lost the battle, she has a scar along her right rib and left collarbone to prove it.
Looking into her clear, almond-shaped, maple brown eyes most people would think she was sweet and kind, until you piss her off, then they seem to become brooding and dark, her lashes are long, especially for a woman, and just for that reason she does not wear make-up. Many would say her eyes are hazel, others may actually say golden, it all seems to depend on the person and their perception of her. Although the captain has been to hell and back she still has somewhat of a fresh-face; she has some resemblance of laughing lines around her small and red lips, and if her thin eyebrows are raised high enough anyone can see her light forehead wrinkles. Her nose is well rounded at the tip, but very narrow on the bridge. He body is chiseled, though not like a bodybuilder, but she works out daily and she is definitely not a meat-head, like some others on the crew(Wu). He complexion is a reddish-tan, some can say it looks like coffee with a little too much cream. Her hair is dark brown, and the length reaches her shoulders, so most of the time it resides in a ponytail.
Traits: Alex can be unforgiving, stubborn, optimistic, honest.
[-]Unforgiving: Most of the time it is difficult to achieve her loyalty and respect (she has trust issues), and once betrayed it would be impossible to get her trust or loyalty. If it is anything from lying to stealing from her, she will probably never forgive him/her. She will give looks, treat that person unfairly, and probably never speak to them again. Even as captain she sees the rest of her crew as equals, unless of course she is betrayed, then she will treat him/her the rank that they received, she will treat them horribly in spite of what they did to her.
[-]Stubborn: As it is hard to retrieve her trust and respect, she is extremely stubborn. Once her decision is made she won't ever go back on her word. Many may say she is fit for captain because of her stubborn mentality.
[+]Optimistic: As pessimistic as she may seem about forgiveness, she can have an optimistic view of everything around her. In a combat situation, no matter how helpless it may seem, she will always find a way to bring a little light in the situation.
[+/-]Honest: Although many believe honesty is a positive trait, it can be negative especially if someone is brutally honest. Alex doesn't realize it, but whenever she tells someone the truth it is far from sugar coated.
Background History: Alex was born and raised on the human colony know as Terra Nova. She lived with both of her parents who were both colonists and scientists. When Alex was thirteen, in the year 2186, before the Reapers arrived, both of her parents were stationed on Mars, so she was kept at home with her best friend's parents. Alison was her best friend since she was five, they practically lived together they were so close.
A few months after her parents left she received the news that the Reapers arrived, at the time she barely knew anything about them, she thought they were just a myth. She found out they hit the Sol system first, and realized her parents were in the brunt of the attack. As soon as she found out she attempted to contact them, but got nothing but static. Soon after everything around her became chaos, but that didn't matter to her; no amount of disaster and chaos would measure up to her loosing her parents. She cried until her tear-ducts were dry, and at that point it became painful to cry.
During the war, she spent most of her time on Terra Nova, and during her time she was given a gun and that's when she realized the war was no joking matter. She spent her fourteenth birthday helping doctors pull in refugees and wounded soldiers, and it wasn't an easy task. Many soldiers weighed far more than she did, and even with the stretchers they seemed to weigh a ton on her small arms. She wasn't the only kid who was given work to do; there were many more, even Alison. Alison wasn't exactly a "girly girl" but she wasn't a "tom-boy" either, not like Alex at least.
