Desmond, heeding what Martillo said, had took a bit longer to arrive to The Happy Patrat, mostly because he had no directions as the older boy ran off before he could really say much. He sighed, going inside and looking around. He noticed Martillo with all of his pokemon out, and decided it might be a good idea to let his out, too. "Turquoise, Fletcher, come out and enjoy yourselves." He said calmly, and the two came out of their pokeballs quite happily, although Fletcher seemed to be a bit angry, as he was thinking about the Wooper that absolutely destroyed him. He was mildly irritated, but followed Desmond as he went over to the table and sat with Martillo. "Hey." He said quietly, noting all the people around. It kind of made him nervous. His pokemon sort of lurked around the surrounding area, aside from Pip, who jumped into Desmond's lap.
All of Martillo's pokemon walked over to Desmond's pokemon. Ragna walked, or in this case slithered over to Pip and waved at him with its tail, loud R&B music blasted from its headphones around Ragna's neck, it was loud enough for them to hear it perfectly. Tyson walked over to Fletcher and tried to make conversation with it though it would probably be hard considering that Fletcher was still mad about its lost against a Wooper and who could blame him? He got woopered pretty badly. Sol looked up at Turquoise and she shot a string shot at it and pulled itself up so she was on top of Turquoise, cuddling up to it.
Martllo chuckled at the sight of their pokemon interacting and nods at Desmond hi. He leans back and looks at the menu, his eyes were peeled looking out for girls that Desmond can talk to while looking for some food. He then sees a red haired girl looking at Desmond, giving him an idea. There is a glint in his eyes. "Hey Desmond, the red head is checking you out. Behind you." If he turned around he would notice she has a pretty face and has a Patrat standing next to her. "Lesson one starts here my meek student." He chuckles, wondering how this will play out.
The pokemon seemed to be getting along alright, although Fletcher seemed irritated, but he looked at the Bidoof and could see the look in it's eyes, knowing unlike some people in the general area, this pokemon was not a coward. "Feh." Fletcher grunted, leaning against Desmond's chair and trying to play it cool, as if he hadn't gotten woopered. The bird overheard what Martillo said to Desmond, and smirked. He had to see this, as did Turquoise, who felt a little weird for a moment about the bug pokemon, but calmed down and allowed Sol to stay where he was. Pip had no idea about Desmond's situation, so he simply bobbed his head to Ragna's music, happily.
"... Huh?" Desmond looked back behind him slowly, only to notice who was looking at him. His pupils shrunk as he either didn't understand or didn't want to. The Patrat beside her seemed to not be amused. "D-Do you, uh... Need something, ma'am?" The boy asked, the collar of his shirt already sweaty. He wondered why he didn't act the same way around Irma... Was it because she was with a guy, or something? He sat strait as the girl responded to him. "I don't see many new trainers around here, not lately, anyways." The girl's voice sounded familiar, but Desmond couldn't pin it down. "Um.."
"The ones I do see? Self-centered, and greedy... Word travels fast in the Happy Patrat. You are a trainer with a gentle heart, to have helped that Lillipup. It was... Really sweet of you." A faint blush was on her face, as she obviously made this a little awkward. Or for Desmond, very awkward. He looked down at the floor, Fletcher was snickering at his trainer's suspense. "Embarrassed? That's alright... Why don't you come over here and sit with me?"
Desmond's head snapped up, and he instantly looked at Martillo and not her, and mouthed the words 'Help me!' to him. Turquoise and Fletcher were very amused by this situation, both watching Desmond with amused expressions. Or at least the Beldum would, if it could make expressions.
All of Martillo's pokemon stared at the nervous trainer, Tyson chuckled and nudged Fletcher in a friendly way as if saying this will be good show. Sol was giggling from atop of Turquoise, loving the sight how this capable trainer was now like jello at the hands of the beautiful pokemon trainer. Ragna chuckled and shook its head at Pip, it was way to young to understand the situation. Martillo was chuckling to himself and he said to the red haired girl. "Of course he would love to sit with you! He's just to shy to say it." He pushed some cash towards Desmond and whispered to him. "I know that you don't have much cash, this isn't a loan, this is a gift. Go and have fun." He pat the side of his shoulder hard and motioned him to get up.
'THAT ISN'T HELPING!!!' Desmond screamed inside his head, almost ready to have Fletcher use Fury Cutter on Martillo's pretty boy face. He calmed down, and figured Fletcher would watch him suffer anyways. Slowly, Desmond picked up the currency that was a generous gift, but a horrible one... At least at the moment. He stood up, walking back to the table and slowly sitting down on the opposite side of the table from the girl, being in the seat was too much already. "..." His eyes were filled with worry, and finally Fletcher couldn't take it anymore and laughed loudly, but a quick string shot came in his direction, shutting him up instantly. The bird pokemon glared at the culprit, she knew who she was...
"This is Pratty." The girl said in her ever-sweet tone, gesturing to the Patrat that stared at Desmond, looking ready to maul his face off. "She's a tough Patrat, and was the first pokemon I ever laid eyes on. Kinda' like how... Your the first guy..." She stopped herself, shaking her head and laughing. "Quite sudden, isn't it? Like I said, info travels fast here. I know about you than you might think, your the son of the Orre Pokemon Professor, Michael."
Desmond's eyes widened, and his face turned a jigglypuff pink, which seemed really odd, but it showed he was now truly embarrassed. "Why did you... Why did you go and find all of this out? And it was only in a few hours..." He blinked as she leaned on the table, looking him in the eyes. "My family has a way of getting what they want, and I'm pretty sure that will make sense to you."
"Woah, woah, woah!" Desmond put his hands up defensively. "I don't know you at all! W-What is this?!" Desmond was less embarrassed and was actually getting a tad irritated. "How can you even-" Desmond was silenced as the Patrat's leer pierced him like a needle. He became silent and sat there, making the girl smirk. "Still want to play hard to get?"
"We're done here." Desmond said flatly, and she looked rather insulted at his words. "Oh, come on...~"
"I-I said we're done here, ma'am! S-Sorry, but you are going WAY too fast!" He stood up, going to walk over to his original seat, but the lady's Patrat jumped over her and onto the floor, standing in his way. Desmond backed up a little, unsure of what to think. "What...?!"
Martillo and everyone else were on the verge of laughter at the sight of Desmond freaking out, he gave Sol a thumbs up when she shut Fletcher up. He it was even harder not to laugh when he realized that she wants more from Desmond and he yelled at him. "Way to go buddy!" However when he saw the Patrat block his way, Martillo grew concerned and looks up at Sol. "You know what to do Sol." The Larvesta shot a string shot at the Patrat, wrapping it up.
Desmond watched silently as the Patrat fell over, and the girl gasped at the sight. She shot a glare back at Martillo, meanwhile Desmond bent over to help the poor little trapped pokemon. It seemed reluctant for a moment, but soon allowed Desmond to remove the thread that had her stuck. The lady looked back, noticing Desmond's deed and a smile returned to her face. "Oh, thank you-" Although as Desmond finished, he scooted the pokemon out of his way and walked off. "Come on, guys. We're leaving." Desmond said flatly, not wanting to be here anymore. His pokemon quickly gathered, Turquoise lowered down to let Sol get onto the table before following after Desmond. "I'll see you tomorrow, Martillo. I'm going to go get some soup from the pokemon center and then get some sleep." He seemed to have made up his mind, pushing the door to the Happy Patrat open. He went towards the pokemon center, planning to do exactly what he said he would.
The girl shook her head, standing up and walking over to Martillo. Her expression was obviously not an amused one, as she stomped off, her and the Patrat heading into the back office of the Happy Patrat.
After putting his pokemon back in his pokeballs, he walks out of the restaurant and runs after Desmond. He felt horrible after giving him that bad experience. He pat his shoulder and sighed. "I am so sorry man, I really didn't mean for that to happen at all. I thought it was just going to be a casual flirtation session, well a one sided one at least."
Desmond sighed, not very concerned about it. He was okay, but... Wait a second. "I'm okay." He stops and grabs the older boy by his shoulders and stares at him. "I'm okay! I totally just walked out of there and wasn't entirely frozen in fear!" He laughed, it slowly got louder until Fletcher facewinged, wanting to go back in his pokeball now that the fun was over. "Hahaha! That was great! I bet I could do the same with that other girl, I won't be stunned next time. I'll beat her in our next battle, right, Fletcher?!" He looked at the pokemon, who slowly nodded. Desmond released Martillo and held out two pokeballs. "Alright guys, we'll eat up tonight, rest, and get going tomorrow. It'll be great." He returned Turquoise and Fletcher, and Pip stayed by his side. He was sure Martillo must have been getting tired, too.
He just stood there with a with a perplexed expression on his face for a minute, watching Desmond walk away, he just shook his head and said to himself. "Did that seriously just happened?" He rubbed the back of his head, he was happy to see that it wasn't a total failure, but Desmond's excitement caught him off guard. He yawned and followed Desmond back to the pokemon center, where they will sleep for tomorrow's next adventure.
The night passed, Desmond, Martillo, and their pokemon had a not-so excellent meal at the pokemon center, but it was filling, at least. They bunked in the booths for the night, and when morning came, they made sure to have everyone checked up, giving Turquoise and Sol battled against Irma and Mikael, they needed it the most. Although after a little while, they were free to leave, and all Desmond heard as he left was; "Take care of that Lillipup!"
"Well, Martillo. Where are we going, next?" Desmond asked curiously, seeming to have lost all his vigor overnight. Although he was happy he now thought he could beat that bikini girl when they met again.
He took out his map and unfolds it, observing it. The map was marked where they were with small circles, the pokemon center was marked with red and the pokemart was marked with blue, everything else was yellow, including the Happy Patrat. "Well we'll have to go to route two and after that we head to Striaton City, where we will get out first gym badge and hopefully find the bastard who gave Pip up."
Desmond nodded, and began walking. "Let's go, then. The faster we get Pip free, the better!"
With that, the duo began their trip, heading for Route 2.
