|Enter the city of Ironport, one of the biggest hubs of crime and debauchery on the entire East Coast, perfect place to get a little family going... then again, probably not the kind of family most people have|
The air was cold and chilly that night, it was pretty apparent that winter was right around the corner, breaths were taking form in the air, and the people walking the streets were dressed up as if they were on a mission to Antarctica. Deep in the downtown area of our fair Ironport, in the area people tell tourists to stay away from, there was something magical about to happen... In the streets there were gangs, thugs, criminals, thieves, all different forms of the Earth's scum congregated downtown, the area was unmaintained, the city didn't give a shit if some thugs didn't have the view they wanted. There wasn't a cop for 2 miles in any direction, the way the town is run, basically everyone had to fend for themselves, Darwin's theory in action...
Down by the old run down bars and clubs there was a tunnel that led to the underground areas, see this area was so poor that every shop in the district had to share a basement, so long tunnels were everywhere.
But our pal Johnny knew of a little place waaaaay down at the very end of the last tunnel that led to an old Speakeasy that had been there since the prohibition era that had it's very own large basement, Johnny felt it necessary to commandeer this old establishment for his own....personal uses.
Way outside this old place, out on the streets, there was a large unpainted van parked. There were 7 people standing around, seemingly waiting for something to happen.
Johnny stood up against a wall next to a door that read "All trespassers will be shot on sight", the door was red and had been tagged a few times, but this warning was still visible, he was looking around quite a bit, he had a cigarette in his hands that was just about finished, he took a drag and looked over to one of the others standing there, a small guy with shaggy brown hair, the young man had on an old white tank top that was stained with all manner of fluids from what appeared to be mustard stains all the way to blood. Johnny gave a thumbs up and a smile to the young man, "You think you're ready, Pak? I'm counting on you tonight." Johnny said, Pak smiled back at Johnny and gave a vigorous head nod. "Everyone pays to see the Demon..." Johnny laughed once more, the demon... It was hard to think such a kind young man like Pak had earned a nickname like that.
Johnny checked his fairly nice watch, it read 11:56, only 4 minutes from Midnight. Johnny nodded his head slowly, he took one last drag on his cigarette then dropped it, he took his boot and pressed the cigarette into the pavement, putting it out. "Looks like it's show time, kiddies!" Johnny gave out a twisted laugh, he pivoted and faced the door, he very quickly grabbed the handle and flung the door open, he stood and held the door for the rest of the family to get in and counted heads.
As each member walked by he counted "Alright, first..." a Korean man walked into the door past Johnny. "Our favorite clown, Tae-Sung" He smiled and nodded to Tae-Sung, "Next!" He called for more members to enter, 'Fetu!" A large Samoan man came through the door "I wanna see those big Samoan muscles in action tonight brudda" Johnny and Fetu touched knuckles, as Fetu moved in Johnny was squished into the door, making barely enough room for the large Samoan man. He exhaled deeply, and inhaled once more. "Keep coming..." Next a woman came through the door, "Crack some skulls out there tonight." he smacked her on the shoulder and pushed her gently into the room. Next up a very thin scruffy looking man came up to the door, Johnny spoke to him "Alright Billy, if you're feeling up to it, I can give you a match, but if you don't feel up to it you can help me out with bets and brackets, let me know once we get in there" He then nodded to the man and once more gave a gentle push into the building. Another man came up to the door, much more fit than the last. "Alright, Dylan, we got some big fights tonight, I hope you're ready to patch some guys up, go on in." He pointed his head to the door. Last but not least, Pak walked up to Johnny and gave a bow, Johnny bowed right back, Johnny grabbed Pak by the back of the head and gave him a firm hug, these men were like brothers, and Johnny never wanted to see Pak get hurt. "Kick some ass in there..." Johnny said to Pak, letting him inside.
Once everyone had entered the building, Johnny shut the door and locked it behind them, this place was dimly lit, all that could be seen were some boxes strung along the side walls, as the family made their way down a few sets of stairs, they came to a very large tunnel, which almost looked like a sewer, there were markings indicating which business owned which area, everyone made their way down this big tunnel until they suddenly stopped about half way down, Johnny then took the lead and went up to the side wall, it was very dirty and grimey, he wiped some dust off of a sign which had been covered for years, the sign read "O'Malley's secret stash", it was the sign for the old speakeasy, Johnny took out a key and opened the door to the old pub.
Once they had gotten inside the pub, not much looked very interesting, you could tell this used to be a bar, old seats everywhere covered in dust and cobwebs, but nobody was there to have a pint, so they moved on, everyone moved behind the bar, into the employee section, a few more boxes were sitting around, once more nothing interesting, but some noises could be heard. Several thumps rang out through the old pub. Johnny shook his head and opened the door in the back of the room, which led into an extremely large under section, a giant basement was in front of the family, men of all different ages, wearing all different attires, from thugs and gangsters to business men were simply standing around talking to each other, coexisting. This was beautiful to Johnny, so he gave a smile and walked down into the basement, he was preparing for what the night had in store for his dearest family... He checked his watch once more, 12:00 exactly...
