Riku soared across the sky atop his Wyvern Heartless. Some years ago, Riku promised to his friend that he would return to the light. But it was harder than it sounded. Riku found that he was naturally adept at wielding the power of darkness. The darkness was powerful, unstoppable and the ultimate weapon. He gave up on returning to the world of light because he knew he would be rejected. And thus he became the darkness that everyone feared. Riku wanted to show the world that he was the best. Not only that, he sought to rid the world of evil, in a way. The Heartless preyed upon those with twisted hearts and minds. Corrupt people, slave traders, murders and those alike would all fall to the darkness and disappear from the world. The result was the Heartless creatures - and they listened to Riku.
However, as powerful as Riku was, no one ever saw him, or at least no one ever lived to see him. He was a Heartless too, albeit a special one. He was the only Heartless that was still human. For some reason, no one could see him even though they could see the creatures. All the better he supposed. It would be a mess if his true identity was found out. And for those odd one or two who did see him, he would kill them. Right now, the worlds only feared the Heartless, not the one pulling the strings. There were other controllers like Riku out there as well, but he would eradicate them eventually.
Riku descended into the center of the town, smirking at the townsfolk who didn't know he was there. Drawing his blade, Soul Eater into the air, Riku drove it into the ground and turned it like a key. Two more slashes left and right and a rift to the world of darkness was opened. Riku's Heartless looked at him with their beady little eyes.
"Come forth my Heartless! Consume this world of its darkness!" shouted Riku evilly. The town felt a rumble as the Heartless poured into the streets, going after each and every tainted person. Riku folded his arms and stood proudly as his lackeys gathered up the darkness. "You should thank me. I'm ridding your world of evil, right?" said Riku to the town, although he knew they couldn't hear him. Yeah so maybe he was starting to talk to himself. So be it. He didn't need anyone.
