Luca Warren sat up in the back of the vehicle that had slowed down since he last entered. Pushing a blanket off of himself, he saw out the window that night had recently fallen. Exiting the vehicle, he saw it parked at a hotel, where his companion had apparently stopped for the night. If by companion, one meant a random person he had bummed a ride from. He really didn't want to be out during the day though, and he had come dangerously close.
Recognizing the hotel, he put himself not far from his ultimate destination, his old apartment in the bottom of the tiny inn in the small city a bit further up the mountain. Switching to the front seat of the vehicle, he simply hot-wired the car. There was no way he'd be walking all the way up there in one night. But with a vehicle, he could be there in two hours. With the lights off, he pulled away from the hotel, heading up the mountain with the pedal seemingly nailed to the floor.
It wasn't too long before the same vehicle lay abandoned, hidden well inside a cave a little further back. Luca approached the town, looking around. He had been here off and on over the past year or so, to feed or just wander around. To his knowledge, the people knew nothing of him, or that people were being fed on. But tonight, he intended to return for good. To return home. With that, he started toward his apartment.
