The inspiration for this comes from Pacific Rim and Metal Gear Revengeance, although the RP also borrows elements from popular Japanese series like Evangelion, Vanquish, Gundam and Kamen Rider, and my unholy love of powered armor. However, being in the advanced RP section, there is also drama that goes on between conflicts. These are usually in the form of internal and external struggles characters will have with their mission, themselves, and each other.
The story takes place in a semi-post-apocalyptic setting. Where most of the world has been destroyed by mysterious beings from another dimension known as the Archangels. Nearly driven to extinction, mankind was saved by the appearance of Phantasma Frames: synthetic-organic powered suits that possessed the ability to destroy the Archangels. Equipped with the legacy of a previous race, the human race and its chosen operators begin their resistance against the enigmatic Archangels.

In 2040, a mysterious rift opened in the skies above the Pacific Ocean. All communication with orbital satellites were suddenly lost, and mankind soon found themselves unable to go beyond the atmosphere of their own planet. Any attempts to approach the rift resulted in the destruction of investigating teams, aircraft and ships. Shortly after, the Angels appeared, waging war against the planet. Mankind fought back, splintered in their retaliation. Many countries only fought for their own safety and well being, and they soon began to fall apart against the beings from the rift. As nations began to go dark one by one, it would appear that humanity's days were finally numbered.
Then the Phantasma appeared. Legacies of a long-dead race that once opposed the Angels, their final Ark delivered the weapons to humanity from across the stars. Armed with these weapons, the people of earth finally had a means to fight back. For the first time against the Archangels, the inhabitants of planet Earth tasted victory. At long last there was hope.
It is now 2075. Nearly 30 years after the appearance of the Phantasma frames, the war between humans and the Archangels continue to wage on. Most of the planet has already been destroyed, and what remains of the population have been locked behind the walls of heavily defended city blocks that encompass parts of Eurasia, the Middle East, and Northern Africa. The Phantasma gave hope, but of the 300 that originally led the defense against the Angels, only 123 now remain. Mankind has begun work on training operators for newly developed Phantasma Frames, but the process is painstaking and slow at best with a high chance of failure.
Themes and Elements
Epic battles are one major element of the roleplay. Many battles will be in the scope of tokusatsu like super sentai or kamen rider, and will be done in a similar over-the-top manner like Metal Gear Revengeance. This RP will also have a slice of life element along with character drama which serves as a contrast to the battle against the Angels and as a source of motivation for involved characters. Essentially the RP explores two sides of the characters: one as a soldier, and one as a human being, with the battle against the Angels serving as a backdrop to these elements.
The Nations of Eden are governed as a sort of republic with elements of kratocracy and meritocracy where those who are strong and can provide and contribute the most to society stand at the top of the scale. Military genious and prowess is a favored trait due to the tight defense required to repel any Angel attack, although it falls beneath government leadership and food production. Phantasma operators are often highly decorated but mainly used as tools of propaganda. Being permanently bonded to their Phantasma Frames until death, they are feared as much as they are needed and many even accuse them of being no different than the Angels they have been fighting against.
Eden encompasses a good portion of Europe and parts of Africa and the Middle East, forming a sort of iron wall against the outside world. Phantom Command is located in the Mediterranean Sea, heavily guarded by a combined naval force of submarines, patrol boats, battleships, and a total of 21 aircraft carriers that roam the waters ready to deploy fighters and bombers. Eden's population at the time of its formation in 2045 consisted of around 750 million people with only the coastal European nations under its control. Since then, with the assistance of the Phantasms, much of Europe has been reclaimed and the population has risen to just short of 1.5 billion. However, further assaults are currently impossible due to the shortage of manpower. Calculations for the next assault to reclaim more territory put the operation time at 2092 in the best-case scenario. For now, Eden focuses on protecting its shield territories. The construction of heavily fortified forward bases and walls in conjunction with the assistance of Phantasms have managed to keep Angel incursions at bay for the time being.
Phantasm: The term by itself mainly refers to the entire unit itself (Frame + Operator). However, sometimes the term is used interchangeably with Phantasma Frame. The word Phantasm can mean an apparition or specter, or a creation of imagination, and reflects the near miracle-like appearance of the units during mankind's final hours as if it had come.
Phantasma Frame: This term is used to denote the frame by itself. Phantasma or PF is often used for short.
Phantom Command: The main branch of the Eden Republic that sees direct control and observation over Phantasma deployment and operations. It is sometimes called Phantom-Ops interchangeably. The headquarters of Phantom Command is a Mobile Offshore Base named Valkyrie located in the Mediterranean Sea, effectively in the center of the Eden Republic.
Operator: The pilot or wearer of the Phantasma Frame suit. Operators are often highly trained in order to bring out the maximum capabilities of their Phantasma. Some people have used the term Phantom-Ops instead in order to distinguish them from regular spec-ops teams. Operators are often at the peak-human fitness and have achieved total body control through advanced martial arts and gymnastics training in order maximize their performance and efficiency in a Phantasma.
Zero Augmented Combat Suit (ZACS): The ZACS suit is a mass-produced powered armor based on reverse-engineered technology obtained from Phantasma. It augments the wearers strength and movement by a factor of 5, but does not include the enhanced sensory systems or the neural link of the Phantasmas. Nonetheless, the suit itself since implemented has tripled to potential effectiveness of modern fighting forces, allowing them to engage up to Class-II Archangels when working in squads. Zack Units often carry pulse rifles with them, mass-produced infantry weapons that are capable of defeating lower class Archangels and even injuring higher classes when used en masse--assuming they can score direct hits on the more powerful Class-III Archangels. They are often called Zack Teams/Units/Squads--often in a both affectionate and condescending manner.
Divine Stigma: An illness that occurs from contact with an Angel. An individual afflicted with this illness will begin to transform into an Angel themselves. While it is unknown what the final stage of this transformation entails, some believe that it is an evolution of the human race. Most subjects are taken away or killed before succumbing to the final stages of the transformation, that is if they have not died from the earlier stages of the disease already.
Apostles: A term used to classify individuals stricken with the Divine Stigma. This is most often utilized as a derogatory term despite its use for the purpose of classification. Apostles, depending on what stage of infection they are at, will begin to take on traits and abilities of Angels. They are described as being beautiful, but the hatred against Angels that have destroyed families and lives have led them to be feared and discriminated.
Ion Pulse: The primary projectile weapon of the Phantasma Frames. It weaponizes the energy source of the Phantasma, turning it into a powerful weapon capable of destroying most reinforced materials. It should be noted that while the weapon utilizes some sort of pulse energy, very little is still known about the exact nature of the weapon itself.
High-Frequency Weapon: The primary melee weapon of the Phantasma Frames. The weapons themselves vibrate at ultra-high frequencies to cut through materials by disrupting their molecular bonds. In addition, the weapon is further reinforced with Ion energy from the Phantasma to increase its cutting ability even more. While it is generally silent even when used in the Assault Form, an overclocked HF weapon when used in Overdrive Form vibrates as loud as a jet engine and has been shown to tear through even Class-III Angels with ease.
Pulse Weapons: A mass-produced version based on what little has been discovered on the PF's Ion technology. It utilizes specialized ammunition that is capable of being charged with a powerful current of energy to greatly increase its ballistic performance. As the weapon is not driven by gunpowder, its rounds can be made much smaller while still retaining significant power over conventional calibers. Earlier models were electrical, and ran on high-powered fuel cells that could be disabled by EMP shockwaves. The most recently circulated models throughout Eden are now shielded against EMP technology and have become more streamlined. A typical Pulse Rifle holds 80 rounds in its magazine, although there are high-capacity magazines that can give a soldier a much larger ammunition supply. Pulse Cannons are a more powerful variant that fire larger slugs at an even higher rate of fire.
The Phantasma are synthetic-organic powered suits given to mankind as the final legacy of a long dead enigmatic race known only as The Guardians. Phantasma possess the ability to fight and even kill Archangels, beings against whom modern weapons at the time had little effect against.
Summary of Capabilities
- Strength, speed, and sensory augmentation to superhuman+ levels
- Full light spectrum scanning; Femto-Vision uses light pulses to see around corners, through walls, etc...; visual and radar cloaking (cannot use both at the same time)
- Armor Form: Basic mode; least energy consuming; no access to Assault weapons; basic weapons include body-mounted blaster cannons, high-frequency blades, and hip-mounted rocket anchors (similar to the popular Shingeki no Kyoujin, but used like Casshern and Code Geass)
- Assault Form: Access to powerful assault weapons; doubled augmentation capability of Armor Form; adapts to Gun Mode, Blade Mode, or Hybrid Mode; basic weapons power up to stronger variants; armor pieces form Assault Shroud, remote guns, blades, or shields (similar to funnels/bits/fangs from Gundam)
- Trans-DRIVE Form: 300% increase in performance (similar to Gundam 00's Trans-AM); places great strain on wearer; 99.99 second time limit (homage to Garo tokusatsu), although most operators can only maintain half that amount before suffering debilitating feedback effects; access to Buster Weapons
Mysterious beings that began attacking earth over 30 years ago. They nearly drove mankind to extinction until the arrival of the Phantasma Frames. Even after all this time, very little is known about them. Upon death, Angel corpses seem to sizzle and boil away until there is nothing left, making examination of their bodies difficult without specialized preservatives and vacuum-sealed containers. Angels have a beautiful, white, porcelain surface that is believed to act as a form of armor. Despite appearing delicate, they have been capable of shrugging off small arms fire and in higher class Angels can resist even nuclear weapons. Ironically, once broken, the more hideous and fleshy form of the Angel underneath is revealed. The angels are similar to those depicted from the game Bayonetta.
Angels have been so far designated into four categories or classes. Despite having four classes, angels have many different forms, usually increasing in complexity with higher classes.
Class-I: Basic form and highest numbers. Limited intelligence but very cunning as a predator. Can shrug off small arms fire and even heavy machinegun fire. Vulnerable to pulse weapons and can be defeated by Zack Units.
Class-II: More advanced forms although less common. Displays increased intelligence, utilizing limited tactics in conjunction with Class-I Angels. Armor has been shown to disrupt higher caliber munitions and even some anti-tank weaponry.
Class-III: Highly advanced forms with a rare appearance. Highly intelligent and capable of speech. Armor can resist even 120mm tank shells and 30mm depleted uranium rounds in addition to direct artillery fire. Phantasma are often needed to deal with these types of threats, although some Zack divisions have prided themselves with defeating Class-III Angels on their own.
Class-IV: Sometimes referred to as Archangels, they display incredible intelligence and are seemingly invulnerable to anything short of a Phantasma. Only Phantasms are called in to defeat these kinds of threats while conventional forces provide backup in the form of heavy suppression fire. Class-IV are very rare, often acting as a sort of head to Angel forces. Nonetheless, many Phantasms have been killed by these Angels in battle, and they are the source of many casualties for the Phantom-Ops aside from neuro-link failures. The last sighted Class-IV was defeated by Phantasma-One's Takeshi Hongo nearly 15 years prior to the start of the main story.
Name: Character Name
Phantasma: Pick a number 010 through 300 along with a codename if you so wish (ex: Kabuto, Silverwolf, Liger, etc...). The new generations of Phantasma begin at 301 and onwards. You can also just be a Jack Trooper if you wish, utilizing squad tactics and overwhelming firepower to take down Angels.
Age: Your character age. The age of your character will affect your performance in a phantasma. Usually a fully-developed human adult body will be able to withstand the strain of operating a Phantasma more than a younger individual would. You cannot be younger than 15-16 years of age and be a full-fledged Phantasm.
Appearance: Include nationality along with the usual traits such as clothing and what not.
Personality: Basic personality traits, but you can be much more descriptive if you want.
Phantasma Appearance: Describe the appearance of your phantasma in its Armor and Assault Forms.
Armor Weapons: Describe the appearance of your weapons in Armor Form. Armor Form Phantasma are limited to one or two high-frequency blades, 2-4 ion blaster cannons either in various hand-held or armor-mounted forms, and two waist-mounted rocket anchors similar to those used in Shingeki no Kyoujin, Casshern, and Code Geass.
Assault Weapons: You can use up to 3 different unique weapons in your assault form in addition to the Enhanced variants of your Armor Weapons.
Assault Shroud: Describe the appearance and function of your remote weapons. You can utilize a single, powerful weapon, or multiple smaller weapons. Keep in mind that the effectiveness of your Assault Shroud depends on your character's experience as a Phantasm.
Unique Traits: Any unique traits your Phantasma may have the reflect the conscious of the operator.

Kokurokoki - GM
Name: Zariel Moriati
Phantasma: Non, jack trooper.
Appearance: English, athletic, short blonde hair, teal eyes, around 6 and a half feet tall.
Personality: To be expressed in play.
Armor Weapons: Standard issue ion rifle, HF chainsword
Bio: Coming from a fairly mundane background zariel had a pleasant life until the war broke out, being carted off to france at eight as his parents fell to the angels as they joined the force. Later on in life he volenteered to join the jack corps, and has around eighteen years of service in the corps so far.
Name: Jacob Knight
Age: 24 years old.
Appearance: Of English nationality, Jacob is rather tall, standing at 6 foot 2 inches, or 188 centimeters. Well built, yet lean rather than bulky. He has often short-cut brown hair, and stays clean shaven for the most part. His face, while not unattractive, is more average than anything else. His eyes have a dark purple colour, though they used to be blue. Even before he bonded with a Phantasma Frame, his eyes were quoted as his most striking feature. His usual attire is simple; black pants, and a simple white shirt. The styles of both are prone to change, but Jacob prefers simplicity in the actual design of his clothing.
Personality: At his most basic, Jacob is protective. In his youth, he was aggressive and rather uncouth, but this was the only way he knew how to express himself, being raised in a... less than ideal family situation. His protective instinct runs much deeper than his youthful aggression, and he has often been called out on being much too stubborn. When he sets his mind to something, he performs with great dedication until the task is done or he can't act any longer. All of his outstanding traits stem from his strong willpower, the sense of purpose that lies beneath his conscious mind. He isn't even aware of it at most times, but he has a sense of drive that is core to any action he takes. Of course, his mind isn't all noble and protective. He has bursts of aggression still, and tends to be derisive and cynical. He has a deep-seated belief that if one wants something done, they should do it themself, and in turn doesn't really trust most people to be able to do what they say. Being an Operator of a Phantasma Frame has challenged this belief, as he is often called to do things that other people simply CAN'T do, and he has resigned himself to the fact that he will have to take on the workload for most of humanity. Ever since he first bonded with his Frame, he has changed and developed somewhat of a martyr-complex. He will put himself in harm's way, taking attacks for others, and push himself beyond any 'acceptable' limit. He will often only stop pushing himself at levels most people would consider insane, to the point where, close to the start of his 'career' as a PF Operator, he trained for nearly a week straight - 5, nearly 6 days - just to see how far he could go.
Phantasma Appearance: The Phantasma Frame 347-Paladin, or the Paladin Frame, is a sleek, armored Frame in it's Armor Form. It has a mostly featureless face, with only two obviously-mechanical eye-slits showing, and an armored lower-half. The plating is articulated, and doesn't inhibit movement at all, while still being able to withstand heavy blows due to the material used. Mostly humanoid, it has a crest remiscent of the crests seen on Sengoku Era Japanese Samurai helmets, in the shape of a crescent, which touches at it's lowest point just slightly above the point between the two eyes. In Assault Form, it is rather similar, slimming down even further, shedding it's armor plating and revealing the undermesh, which is still quite durable, but the lack of weight allows much finer movement combined with the further enhanced strength and speed. The Trans-DRIVE Form looks identical to the Assault Form, with the exception of it's eyes, which glow purple.
Armor Weapons: In Armor Form, the Paladin Frame is equipped with a single high-frequency blade and a dual-barreled ion cannon mounted on the left forearm. This cannon has a rail which it can slide along, and when inactive will slide back slightly before compacting down onto the forearm. The Paladin Frame also has the standard hip-mounted rocket anchors.
Assault Weapons: In Assault Form, the Paladin Frame is equipped not only with the enhanced versions of it's blade and cannon, it also has two unique enhancing features. It has a propulsion unit equipped along the arm, which will fire in short bursts to accelerate a strike heavily, to increase impact force, and a 'spring hammer' like weapon mounted along the forearm which launches forward just before impact, thus increasing further the force of a blow. This makes even it's unarmed attacks quite potent. The Ion cannon is shoulder-mounted in the Assault Form, having moved up the railing in order to accomodate the other weaponry unique to Assault Form.
Assault Shroud: The Paladin Frame's Assault Shroud is rather simple. A single, large shield. It's propulsion systems allow it to rapidly compensate for force put on it, and added to it's durability and mobility, it is quite useful for defense. When first activating the Assault Form, the Shroud Shield forms of all the shedded armor plating migrated onto the arm of the Paladin Frame.
Unique Traits: As a unique trait of the bonding of the Paladin Frame, it can sometimes perform at higher levels than is generally thought of a Phantasma Frame. It also responds to will more readily than other Frames, and even without armored plating is shown to be quite adept at redistributing force.
Bio: Jacob was, from the moment he was born, tagged as a Phantasma pilot. His father was the pilot of the 119-Crusader, and a powerful asset to the government of Eden. Jacob, in some ways, was hoped to be more compatible from the very start with a Phantasma, due to his heritage, and the fact that his father bonded before he was even conceived, so from the start his genetic code was different. Most scientists who pay attention are still unsure why his father was still virile, as he should've been so far away from the Human genetic code that it would be impossible to reproduce. Nonetheless, Jacob was born. From a military family, he was of course disiciplined and groomed from a young age, being placed in an academy specifically for future Phantasma pilots. However, his 'family' life.. wasn't so clean cut. His father, most likely from the stress of being one of the original 300 Phantasma pilots, was a bit unhinged, and prone to violent outbursts. His mother was usually the one who caught the brunt of this, though Jacob would often get his fair share. As he got older, he'd begin taking more and more of these outbursts until eventually they ended up as simple fist-fights between father and son. These stopped abruptly at age 14, as that was when his father died in combat, being one of the only operators unwilling to retreat, he ended up fighting an army of Angels on his own. This event heavily influenced Jacob, despite what he says, and even how he acts. Despite everything he had done, he was still Jacob's father.
Jacob excelled in most fields in the academy. His father had ensured no less. When it came time for him to bond to a frame, he was hoping that he'd be assigned to the 119-Crusader, in order to prove that he was just as good as his father. It was slightly childish of him, actually, when he was let down that he wasn't assigned to the Crusader; By that time it had already been re-assigned... but, due to the unique circumstances of his birth, he was assigned a Frame which was obviously templated on the Crusader; the 347-Paladin.
Name: Yurusa Mono
Phantasma: Eleven Divine Shadow
Appearance: Half Korean and half Japanese, Mono stands 5 inches above 5 feet, seemingly shaped with purity of form in mind. From head to toe she is composed of lean muscle wrapped in tight bundles around her small frame. Her mixed heritage has given her a fair face that, while soft, can be at the next moment like stone accented with angular features. But more often her visage is veiled by long dark locks that fall just below her shoulders, behind which are bright, solid blue eyes - a side effect of bonding with her Phantasmsa - that give her an enthralling gaze. When in casual clothing, she is most commonly seen wearing a belted gold silk dress, with a wide pleated skirt, under an oversized leather jacket with a collar of black fur. She also sports a pair of red ballet slippers. On rare occassions she can be seen in a business suit and a pencil skirt with black flats.
Personality: Yurusa Mono is proud and egotistic, qualities fueled by her importance to the Shikuru Corp as their personal Operator. It is not without reason though - she has worked very hard to achieve her accomplishments. She won’t hesitate to mention her merits and qualifications if she feels she is not being taken seriously. The one thing that is guaranteed to aggravate her is to be looked down upon. While proud and probably arrogant, Mono does see value in other people... when she’s not blinded by stubborness. She respects those with strength. She respects those who can bring themselves to achieve their goals with their own power, whether it be physical or mental. She also respects integrity, favouring those who are loyal and honorable. But most of all, she likes honest people best. As a company operator, she has been exposed to a den of silver tongues and liars for the last 8 years, so any straightforward fellow is a welcome friend.
Although she has been troubled with past tragedies, she remains spirited. When her shoulders are burdened, she does not sag but pushes back. In action she is decisive, having great confidence in her skills. She tends to dominate other operators when working in a team. With the free reign she’s been given as a corporate operator, she’s not accustomed to a chain of command where she’s not on top. Her approach to battle is also more aggressive and she favours tactics that bring the fighting up close... even if others are not so willing to cross that gap. However, she does take care of those “under her command” as much as she can.
Phantasma Appearance: Divine Shadow is a Phantasma with a streamlined, feminine shape, covered by a distinctive flowing cloak. The smooth, curvaceous plates of armor are pale lavender in hue, contrasting with the pitch black of the exposed softer sections around the joints. The head is adorned with a golden mask, etched with a dark and determined expression, and crowned with fins. In armor mode the cloak is fluid, and functions as a layer of self-repairing ablative armor. In assault mode the cloak can remain in one piece, or disperse to form the assault shroud. Additionally, articulated armor plating form large pauldrons around the shoulders in assault mode.
Armor Weapons: The Divine Shadow is equipped with a single phased array high frequency blade called the Tenkagoken Blade. It is a long, slim, straight single-edged blade that possesses significantly greater armor piercing capabilities than most other high frequency blades due to using different technology than “conventional” weapons. The Divine Shadow is also equipped with the standard anchor rockets.
Assault Weapons: The enhanced Tenkagoken Blade glows bright white in assault form, and has even better armor piercing capabilities. The blade also becomes equipped with a powerful ion thruster that’s integrated into the hilt, which is fully capable of propelling the Frame in short bursts, giving it added mobility and power to attacks. The Divine Shadow’s arsenal is further augmented with a decoy projector and a smoke launcher. It can launch a mobile holographic projector with advanced A.I. that is capable of intelligently reacting to hostile action, making a convincing decoy for offensive or defensive purposes. The smoke launchers are built into the assault form’s pauldrons, hidden under the armor plating that lift when the smoke canisters are ready to fire. The smoke is filled with particles that disrupt special optics, making it effective against most, if not all, direct vision.
Assault Shroud: The Divine Shadow’s assault shroud is its cloak. It can remain on the Phantasma to continue acting as basic armor, or it can disperse as tiny drones in a globe around the frame to project a strong energy shield. The drones can be deployed offensively, where the same energy globe act as a prison rather than as a shield. However, that exposes the Divine Shadow. Alternatively, the drones can be used to mask the mobile projector to make the holographic decoy “solid” and capable of physically interacting with objects.
Unique Traits: Frame Eleven is famous for the Tenkagoken blade, which uses a phased ion array to amplify its cutting power - technology unique among the arsenal of the Phantasma. This puts its cutting power a level above most others. The Frame also has a reputation for its speed and agility, (potentially one of the fastest) and under the control of the previous Operator, it was also known as “Shadowless.” It is a specialized Phantasma, focusing on deadly melee ability backed by high speed, power and deception afforded to it by its arsenal.
Bio: Eleven Divine Shadow was originally piloted by Shizuka Yui, one of the first operators who fought alongside Takeshi Hongo in Japan before it was consumed by the angels. During the evacuation of Osaka, Yui encountered a young Yurusa Rezaru and his newborn sister Mono, who had barely escaped the hospital that served as their parents’ tomb. Yui rescued them and fled on the last ship, abandoning Osaka to smoke and ruin. Yet even as they escaped they were assaulted by the Angels, leaving few of the ships heading to Eden intact. Feeling personally responsible, and with no parents to support them, Yui adopted the two children as her own. Now blooded by the violence and loss, Rezaru trained diligently to become an operator in order to be an avenger. Though he and Yui strove to keep Mono isolated from the danger around her, keeping a semblance of a warless childhood as she grew up. When possible they would act as if the angels did not exist, but in reality Yui was grooming her to become an operator separate from the institutions and academies that she had disagreements with. Whether it was her personal intuition or influence from the Phantasma, Yui saw potential in Mono that she wanted to cultivate personally. At a young age, Yui enrolled Mono in ballet and gymnastics classes to develop physical conditioning and coordination. Her mind was honed with chess and books of stratagem, and disciplined with meditation. She started fencing in her tweens and progressed quickly with further tutelage from Yui. Mono followed Yui’s command like a duckling to its mother. Though her life was fairly routine, there was a budding tension between Mono and Rezaru. Rezaru was consumed by his desire for vengeance, permeating his every thought. He saw Yui’s intentions with Mono and harbored jealousy that he was ignored and left to his own. He tried to remain a good brother, knowing the innocence of her sister in the matter, but there was always the stain of jealousy in his mind.
When Mono was 16, Rezaru reached his breaking point and took an irretrievable act: he murdered the operator of Fourteen Binding Demon and bonded with the Phantasma. Yui happened to be in his way as he fled and tried to detain him while he wrestled with controlling the Frame, but the might of the Phantasm was too much. After the fell deed, Rezaru fled into the lost zone. Mono never found out the truth of incident as she was quickly spirited away by the Shikuru Corporation as their potential operator for the now unoccupied Divine Shadow. They convinced her that Yui had arranged for her to be brought under the care of Shikuru Corp in the instance of her death. Distraught and confused, Mono never questioned her new caretakers. She lost the only family she ever knew in one night, and didn’t even know why. Although the incident shattered her, Shikuru Corp slowly rebuilt her into their instrument. As her new family, her loyalty is to the company first, and she never deviates from company orders. Two years after Yui’s death, Mono successfully bonded with Divine Shadow, and began working as an operator for Shikuru. She was deployed to secure corporate interests in Saudi Arabia, earning the moniker “ash'Shabah.” She’s been serving there since, though she’s caught wind that she may be re-assigned soon.
Name: Kseniya Volkov
Phantasma: 019 Беркут / "Berkut"
Personality: Kseniya is more reserved, compared to Operators like Yurusa Mono. She exhibits a quiet confidence, not going out of her way to assure everyone of her merit, but focusing on her duty and efficiency. Of course she is proud of her accomplishments and role as pilot of 019 Berkut, but tends to keeps these things to herself. This does not mean she is shy - she enjoys company and a good conversation as much as anyone. Those who know her well would describe her as speaking when she needs to speak. However, she is not afraid of opening up to her allies. When Kseniya relays information, she does so with a clear, proud voice and a cool head. On the field, Kseniya does her best to put aside her emotions and concentrate on the task at hand. The mission comes before all else. She pilots Berkut with a focused efficiency, prioritizing what needs to be done.
A strong sense of purpose drives Kseniya to do what she does - as a Phantasma pilot, she believes her existence is entrusted to protect humanity from the threat of the Angels. This force of will guides her to become better and better at what she does, and to double her commitment to the task(s) assigned of her. In this way, Kseniya's duty is important to her on an unconditional level. Obstacles that prevent her from doing so cause her great irritation, whether they be the result of human judgement or not. Unlike most, Kseniya holds no special loyalty to her home country; in her case, Russia. Rather, she feels responsible for the entire world - defending humans, regardless of their race, creed or culture is her top priority. No single nation can seperate her from that.
Kseniya's mindset and values sometimes come into conflict with others. Seeing humans warring with each other frustrates her to the extreme - If the Angels are the greatest danger to the earth, why do we fight amongst ourselves instead of uniting against them? The personal interests of various nations also may or may not upset her vision of a united humanity. She does her best not to hold grudges against individuals, as it would accomplish nothing in the long run. Instead, she hopes everyone can put aside their differences and focus on the real threat. What is a world without a species?
Phantasma Appearance: (Large Images!)
Armor Weapons: Berkut is armed with a pair of ion cannons in the form of magazine-fed assault rifles. Typically, one is used at a time with the second stowed on a mount located on the back, but they can be fired in unison if one is armed in each hand. Unlike many Phantasmas, Berkut lacks a single high-frequency blade. Instead, its primary melee weapons consist of a multitude of hardened blade vanes that sprout from its shoulders, forehead, knees and fingertips. Rather than engage an enemy upfront, Berkut's preferred method of hand-to-hand combat involves dashing past enemies at high speeds again and again, outstretched blades cutting upon passing or spinning at the foe.
Assault Weapons: In Assault form, Berkut's weapons double in power, drawing energy from the will of the pilot. Blades also extend from the Phantasma's forearms, giving it more options in hand-to-hand combat. These blades complement punches that connect very well, as they contribute additional damage and shock factor. These are complemented by retractable, machete-like blades affixed to the heels. They can swivel down, to sprout from the Berkut's soles, giving it devastatingly harmful kicks. Berkut's ion cannons also morph, sprouting an additional barrel. They can fire specialized ion rockets, greater in power than the standard hip rockets of other Phantasms. Visually, Berkut's frame turns from charcoal grey to a flat steel color, and emanates a purple aura.
Assault Shroud: Berkut's Assault Shroud appears as an ethereal, flame-like energy that emanates from joints in its armor. The exact nature of the Assault Shroud is difficult to describe, as it seems to have a multitude of effects. Most apparent is its role as a protective field, intercepting and destroying projectiles aimed at Berkut. If a steady stream of projectiles were to connect, however, the field may eventually weaken in that area due to the continuous strain. Secondly, it can be used as a weapon, seemingly incinerating whatever Angel-based material it comes into contact with, and severely damaging anything else, so long as Berkut's pilot wills it to.
Unique Traits: 019 Berkut is famed for its maneuverability and speed, on a level comparable to 011 Divine Shadow. Although it is not as specialized as is Shadow's melee focus, Berkut is a very capable all-rounder. Its design allows for fluid, responsive controls, replicating just about any movement the pilot makes with minimal effort. When its Assault Shroud is deployed, it is reputed to have an increase in power output and overall performance across the board. The aura it sheds when activated has been dubbed the "Sunburst Shroud" by observers for its dazzling appearance and effects.

Bio: A simple man from a time of peace, Yunus Alsan struggled with achieving worldly success. A man of decent intelligence, he went on to higher education in the sciences, although his passion had always been philosophy. In a world where wars were fought and hate crimes were committed between people of differing faiths, Yunus was conflicted. Coming from a background where he knew Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Baha'is and even the occasional Zoroastrian, Yunus often wondered about the existence of God. 30 years ago, he became a casualty of Lost Zone 2 in Western Turkey, which has since been reclaimed. He can barely remember what happened, but he had been infected by the disease known as Divine Stigma, wandering the wasted battleground, he was somehow alive. And that was when he heard the Voice of God. This was God's final warning. It was his mission to convey the message to humanity, to have humanity repent, and earn salvation. But Satan was strong, and gave mankind weapons with which to fight their saviors. Yunus has since been in hiding, spreading the word in secrecy, and trying to unite all the people who saw the light and knew the angels for what they were. Their religion was strong. God's Will be done. It was time Nephilim made his presence known.
