The tournament was within a few months and for a lot of families within the Organization, the students were already chosen to participate within it. It had never been the case of the Valaroth family, as students were only really chosen 2 weeks before the tournament. The reason behind this was never explained, but some suspect it had to be a very intelligent choice. One of the top families with the Organization, the Valaroth family was known for chosen only a small, select number of students to participate within the tournament. Any family could bring up to 10 students, yet most never brought more then 5-6 students. This year would be special, as it seemed the organization had something special planned for the next tournament, although it wasn’t revealed to the Head of families, only those seated in the Organization knew what it was all about… It had bothered Vincent for a while, but had better things to manage than that kind of thought.
Aneha and Mikio had been asked out of their training or class to come and join the head of dojo outside, where the trail that led up further onto the mountain. It was said to be quick and without delay, to bring some spare clothes and make sure they brought a towel. It has not been specified why to do so, but it was required by the both of them. The messengers had simply told the men that anything that they would need to know would be given by Vincent Valaroth himself. They left quickly has they seemed to have other messages to give. The path was a simple place to find, as there stood a stone arch that had the trail right behind it. The arc itself was said to be sculpted with the stone of the mountains, homage to the spirits of the mountain. It was popular beliefs that within the Valaroth family, it was the spirits who wondered the mountains who would give them their Ki and also their prowess with their combat style.
Right beneath the archway, there was a single man leaning against the pillar of the arc. He bore his traditional grey martial arts suit, along with some bracers made of stone. There was a gentle but light smile on the man’s face as the students arrived at the arc. Pushing himself off, he opened his arms and spoke smoothly.
“Good morning to the both of you. I am glad to announce that you are the potential candidates for the tournament this year. However, this does not mean that you WILL be participating, that will be left for me to determine. From this point on, you will be training with me and will forget what my brothers and sister have said so far… Now, that being said, how about going to the hidden hot springs? They are beyond the Dojo grounds, so we won’t be interrupted for our training. What do you say?”
Vincent waved to them to follow him through the path. His first day of training would make him see what they were capable of in situations that most would consider unusual. It was the first test, or evaluation that would be asked of them, although Vincent would not tell them immediately.
