The thing is, for you guys a light southern accent is something almost exotic, but still familiar enough to relate to. You know they're still American, but they're different enough from you to almost count as being from another country, and that slight twang is fairly easy on the ears.
For me, that type of accent is normal, or worse, a sign of a low IQ.
I don't know what to put here right now.
It does have the exotic flair, but it's also how relaxed/warm it sounds. I have southern relatives tho so maybe it's different for me.
Considering how often people have them in movies and TV.
I can bet you right now, I could flick around some channels on basic cable, and find a British accented sex-object in some show. Is Burn Notice on? I bet Burn Notice is on right now. I rest my case.
Grassy Troll Conspiracy.
Cloak and Swagger.
Southern is a neutral or a negative for me.
And as stereotypical as it is (and as much as I hate when women lose their shit over a male one) English accents are nice. Along with the rest of the britains.
