Welcome to Nowhere and Everywhere, now that you're here you won't be leaving...
"Where are we?" You had asked in a quavering voice and on shaky knees, for a moment everything around you appeared like nothing but a blurry dream caused by a sugar-high and too much video games. Marching down the streets in twos were rabbits, with mini rifles strapped to their chests and solider helmets plopped onto their fluffy heads. They marched down the winding roads whistling war tunes, their metallic boots going clack each time they hit the pavement. You saw a variety of things from a mouse playing the fiddle to a cat selling what you believed were fake diamonds and jewels. You wanted to laugh at it all, really. However, at the same time you also wanted to pass out, or maybe just run away without looking back. None of it made sense, but you knew that everything around you was as real as you were.
Did someone spike my drink at the New Year's party? Am I dreaming? Am I dead? Oh, Gosh, don't tell me that rumor was true!
Your eyes flitted to the construction paper night above you and a sense of both wonder and dread stirred inside you. The lights above were like nothing you had ever seen, and the night sky bled an array of colors as silver stars whizzed past in groups of twos and threes. You saw ships as they sailed across the horizon and even thought you heard a pirate yell. "Oi, don't let that sun of a gun get away! That thing was pretty lil star and I'm sure we'll be getin' ourselves some gold if we manage to sell in in the market!"
Your lips quirked up into a smile. Everything around you was like nothing you had ever known. Almost like a wonderland of sorts.
"Nowhere," A voice whispered into your ear. The voice was childlike and innocent but for some reason you shuddered. Before you was a woman in a conductor's outfit. She looked just like a human except she had crow-like wings and slits for eyes. "Welcome to Nowhere, human." She giggled before she looked you up and down and grinned from ear to ear. Playfully she turned to leave, but you stopped her, you need answers after all.
You gave her the most pleading expression you could muster. "Where exactly is Nowhere?" You asked as you took in all the strange sights around you, from the buildings that folded and bent to the impeccably white castle surrounded by dandelions in the distance.
"Welcome to Nowhere," she repeated and a part of you felt as if she were enjoying the uncertainty and fear in your eyes. "You are Nowhere and Everywhere at the same time." She continued playfully in what you could only guess was an amused voice. You didn't know whether to fear what was to come or to marvel at every impossible thing before you. You shook your head, wondering if you'd ever be able to leave or get return to your home. "H-How can nowhere be everywhere at the same time?" You sputtered as anger and frustration rippled throughout you.
The woman simply laughed. "Well human, how can you exist and not exist at the same time? If you can answer that I will answer your question." She winked before walking away and disappearing into the crowd of men with fox tails and women with trees for arms. You wanted to scream, shout, laugh, and maybe just maybe you had gone mad. Several thoughts flitted through your head tauntingly as you listened to the mouse with the fiddle and the rabbit with tambourine.
"The Queen of Delirium will see you soon, human, but for now enjoy Nowhere." The wind whispered in your ear, it was the voice of the crow lady. "Also. you should be careful of what you wish for, human."
