CHAPTER ONE: Rise of the Mechan-Noids.
Station Square "Channel 6 News Building" - 8am
"Hello there, I'm Maria Fitzpatrick and with me is Cinos the Groundhog. Here's what's making news, today in the city of Station Square."
"Thanks Maria. Authorities are now confirming that the power outages that swept the entire city last week, were caused by a malfunction in the Chaos Energy Dampener Field. When researchers took apart the machine, they found a half eaten piece of a baguette. This is the fifth time that a piece of pastry has been pulled from the device, and authorities are staring to question if pigeons are hanging around the device more then the scientists themselves. More on this story, later on. Maria?"
"And in other news, world renowned Roboticist, Doctor Jeremy Enicham ((pronounced En-Eye-Cam)), known famously for his creation of the "Electronic Gridlock Guidance and Mechanical Assistance Network", or "E.G.G.M.A.N", as it is most commonly referred to, has released a new statement about a revolutionary new device. Some of the Doctor's past inventions and actions have sparked some major controversy, especially the naming of his official laboratory in Station Square, the "Enicham Empire State Building", which was compared to a very similar term once used by a madman who tried to dominate the world in the past. The term "Enicham Empire" is quite oftenly compared to the term "Eggman Empire", which was used by Doctor Ivo Robotnik, to describe his ideal world, where he ruled as a tyrannical monarch. Doctor Robotnik, also known as "Eggman", was responsible for the deaths of many Mobians and Humans in his quest for world conquest, but he was constantly thwarted by the legendary Sonic the Hedgehog and friends... Or so myths say. But today, the Doctor, along with his new invention, released this statement: "I chose the name Eggman because it represents a vision. I'm not saying that Ivo Robotnik or any of his family should be respected for what they did, but his vision of the "Eggman Empire" was still revolutionary. I just want to better the worlds of Mobians and Humans with my technology, nothing more, nothing less. That's what Doctor Robotnik wanted in the beginning, but he went mad with power and it drove him to commit horrible acts. But rest assured, I've already designed a chip to prevent myself from going that far, haha haha." The press conference for the new device to come out of Enicham Labs will be held today at 12pm I the Enicham Empire State Building. Okay, when we come back from our commercial break: Chaos Control Controversy, the story of how a man found himself pants-less in a Mobian's house. He claims he was "sitting on the toilet", when suddenly, he was teleported to the victims home. More news and that story, coming up soon.".
Enicham Empire State Building - 8:15am.
watched the newscast about his latest invention come to a close and smiled wickedly. "Hahaha... Even when the obvious is directly in front of them, these people are still blind.. "E.G.G.M.A.N". How could they NOT see through that!!" he exclaimed, laughing at his own diabolical prank. "Oh, that's rich... But then again, these Mobians have the brain about the size of a walnut, and us humans are no better... We're just as ignorant about each other as we are about obvious things. Still, its interesting that people have only chatted about the title of the help program... Little do they know of its true intention.". Once again, a dark and menacing smile crossed his face and the young, 32 year old blonde stood up from his chair. He turned around and proceeded out of the room, heading down the shining silver corridors of the underground facility that expanded all underneath Station Square. Enicham had made quite a name for himself since he first left "Station Square Community College", founding the "Ma-Enicham Projects" which eventually lead to the creation of his laboratory and the E.E.S.B. However, his biggest triumph was not his machines or his work, but the legacy he was fulfilling. For the longest time, since he was a little boy just mixing chocolate syrup and milk together as an "experiment", his role model had been the one that everybody called mad: Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. His work with robotics was legendary to even simple mechanics. So what if he went a bit crazy over killing one Hedgehog? In fact, Enicham had already killed many... And he found no issue in doing so.
To a degree, Dr. Enicham was disturbed. He was always frightened by Mobians as a child and throughout his maturing ages, they continued to show up at random points in his life, in stories or even as he was walking down the streets. He hated them with a passion. The way they walked, the way they talked, sang, acted, loved... Everything about Mobians was something to detest in Enicham's opinion. They were unnatural creatures, born from another world and teleported to his through some kind of dark energy. So many times, he had tried to open the doors to get them back to Mobius, but nothing seemed to work, meaning he would have to live with them... Or did he? Despite hating Mobians like a cat hates vermin, Enicham saw potential in them. Especially their bodies. They were prime consumers and subjects... And he needed test subjects for his latest experiment: the Robotizisor. Dr.
Enicham finished walking down the hallways and entered the dark work-room, staring at the large dome-like machine. It looked like a teleport of some kind, but had two cylinders coming from it, one that read "Enter" and one that read "Exit". In the centre, was a massive cubical room which the process would begin and end. It was the perfect invention... Ivo would be proud. "Zoribir!! How're things coming along with the Internal Flux Matrix? Is it still giving off too much Turbo Electronic Interference?" he asked the dark grey wolf who worked for him.
Green Hill Zone: "Hyper-Base" - 8:15am
Marcus was tinkering peacefully in his workshop when all of a sudden, the music coming from the stereo system he set up the other day blared louder. He jumped a bit, startled, as Hyper turned up the volume to extreme settings. "AW, COOL!! I love this song!!" he called out happily before the song began.
Marcus rolled his eyes playfully as he heard his friend continue to dance to the popular Crush 40 song. It was by far one of their greatest hits, right next to "Live and Learn", "Open Your Heart" and even "It Doesn't Matter". He laughed a bit as he heard Hyper's quills scrape against the ground as he tried to brake dance again. "Be careful up there, Hype!! We don't want to accidentally break the--" he called, before suddenly there was a large crash followed by the sound of glass shattering, then a "Pop" sound. Marcus stared blanky at the wall for a few moments before he mouthed the words "One, two, three.." Almost immediately after reaching "three", Hyper called down to his human companion. "YO, MARKO!! I think the T.V's broken again!! We need to go and get a new one!!"
"Whats wrong with the old one? How's it broken?"
"These things just break, okay? And besides, I don't think you can fix it... Its kind of.."
"Kind of what, Hyper?"
"Well... The top just kind of... Exploded... I jumped on it by accident and... I don't know what happened, but there's like, twenty rings on the floor now.."
Marcus rolled his eyes again and laughed. "Well, twenty rings should be enough to buy another one. Come on, we'll take the Hurricane to Station Square. I've been meaning to test it out anyways." he called with a shrug before he turned around and stood from his desk-chair. He then walked over to a large Black Bi-Plane, with an advanced propellor. He had designed and built the plane himself one day after he wanted to have a way of travel that wouldn't involve running all the time. Soon, Hyper walked down the stairs leading to the basement lab and whistled at the plane. "Wow Marcus, that thing looks awesome. So, who's driving?" Hyper asked as he walked towards the Hurricane. The original design for the plane had come from the ship used by Sonic the Hedgehog's friend, Miles "Tails" Prower, but Marcus used his own inventive ability to add in some additional features he found were really cool. "Yeah, I've been working on it for a while now. I'm experimenting with power supplies right now.. If I had a Chaos Emerald, who knows how well this thing could operate? Can you imagine, Hyper? This could be the fastest plane ever built with one of those..." he said with a hopeful smile before he climbed into the pilots seat. "I'm driving, you climb into the back.". Hyper nodded and tossed himself into the back seat, leaning against the soft cushion inside as the garage doors opened. Marcus started up the engines and flipped all the switches on. He released the flaps and hit the gas, driving slowly forwards. When the Hurricane began to pick up speed, he sealed up the house and steered them in the path of one of the many loop-de-loops scattered around the Green Hill Zone. The plane quickly sped through it, before he pulled up the wheel and launched them into the air, using the loop as a ramp. "ALRIGHT!! COOL!! Well, seeing as how we're not dead, I'd say that was a pretty successful take off, wouldn't you, bud? Alright, next stop: Station Square!!"
