It was a nice day out, the sun was shining, barely a cloud in the sky, birds chirping, like it was right out of a painting. Eliza would know, there were paintings all over the Castle, filling in the empty walls with at least something nice to look at besides the grey brick. Eliza found herself humming happily as she walked down the hallways, occasionally stopping to look through the holes in the walls that they called windows. It really was a nice day out, which was a bad thing, since she had been ordered to stay inside. Not that she usually listened of course, but all the same, she was warned not to go out that day. Something about some Royalty visiting the Castle and she would be getting a new guard. Eliza resisted the temptation to snort. They were all old men who wouldn't even dream to keep up with her on their best days. She would have though Father would have learned by now, always giving her the dying men who could hardly raise a sword, not to mention protect her from any threats. But perhaps that was all the better for her, it meant that she could get away with pranks and whatnot without much punishment, or really getting caught by them.
A quick glance up at the sun made her smile. It wasn't that late, she could still probably sneak in another prank before the meeting, which was supposed to be in approximately an hour or so. But what to do? There were many options, painting over the walls, setting the alligators into the moats again, the list went on and on. They all were rather old, though. She needed something new, fresh, unused!
And then it struck her. It was terrifically brilliant! At least, to her it was. She had thought of this long before, but never had she the chance to actually carry through with such an idea! She would take the Maid's clothes and hang them on the flag posts on the immediate front of the Castle! With a suppressed giggle, Eliza took off down the hallways, breaking into a small jog and holding up the edge of her skirt. Stopping in front of a particularly nasty Maid's room, she snuck in blindly grabbed whatever loose clothing she could find and ran out. The flagposts were all the way on the other side of the Castle, she had better hurry if she was to complete this before the guests came!
