His hand knocked the radio off the bedside table as his lips sank against her neck. Rolling across to the other side of the bed, Bret wiped the blood from his mouth as he watched the wound on his wife's neck heal. "Why are you so perfect?" He smiled as he tenderly stroked her smooth, bare leg. Bret lightly kissed her thigh, where a small scar sat; a memento of a bygone time. "Tell me darling, can we not just spend this day in bed and enjoy the sunshine" He grinned.
A soft purr escaped Alex's lips, letting out a soft, sultry chuckle. "Because we have a two year old daughter, who is getting grizzly on the baby monitor. And you need to give me time to heal. I ache" Alexis grinned and pulled her arms down from where they'd been above her head, one of her shoulders popping back into it's socket. There was a sickening pop as her hip did the same as she rolled onto her side. She stretched her body out, a few cracks of bones knitting together as her body healed itself from their morning session. She draped herself over the side of his body, placing a kiss against his chest. As if on cue, a soft "Mamaaaaa, Dadaaaaa" Echoed with a little giggle from the baby monitor on the nightstand.
"Clea sure knows how to pick her moments doesn't she?" Bret let out a soft laugh as he began stroking his wife's hair. "Sometimes I wish she was a little bit older when we turned her. Then at least we wouldn't have to worry about her every two seconds" He looked down at Alex for a moment and then leaded his head back. "I lie, I wouldn't change her for the world. Another thing I wouldn't change..." Grabbing her leg, Bret pulled Alex atop him. He sat up as her long legs straddled his sides and he wrapped his large arms around her perfect body. "You. I would never change you. You are my Goddess, my Queen, my wife" He captured her lips between his own, his large hand tracing down to the small of her back. "I love you"
"I would still worry about her every two minutes. And if she was older, she'd be able to get out of her crib and walk in on us. You're the one who would be doing the explaining" Alex gasped as he rolled her over on top of him, a grin spreading across her lips. "You are extremely cheesy" She leant down and pressed her mouth against his, her tongue brushing over the seal of his mouth. "I love you too, my love" She stroked her nails down the back of his shoulders, before pressing a kiss against the top of his head, throwing her leg off from straddling him, stepping out of bed. "But I have a baby to feed and dress, and you need to ready yourself for our appointment." Pulling on her fluffy white robe, she tied the tie around her waist and headed into the adjoining room to pick up Clea.
"TEASE!" Bret called out before rolling out of bed and making his way to the adjoining bathroom. He let the piping hot water wash away the stained blood that littered his huge body. Some of it was his but most of it was Alex's. Sometimes they tended to get a little rough making love. Good job they had a lot of spare bed sheets. After showering, the vampire king dressed himself in a pair of jeans and a tight black polo that showed off his strong frame. Bret was built like a truck, he always had been and being what he was only increased his strength. After passing his wife and daughter in the hallway and planting a kiss on little Clea's head, Bret headed downstairs to the kitchen and looked at his watch. It was time to do work, all he had to do was wait for Alex to come down stairs and they could begin.
Alex pinched Bret's behind as he walked past her and Clea, grinning at him playfully over her shoulder as she disappeared back into the babies’ room. Once Clea was changed and dressed, Alex placed her down on her and Bret's bed while she dressed herself, pulling on a skin-tight pair of black jeans and a white tank-top that clung to her body. Picking Clea back up, she blew a raspberry on the little girl's cheek, smiling as she burst into giggles as they made their way down the stairs. They'd just about settled into their new home, and they had a special room for meetings with other vampires. Heading into it, she was met by Bret waiting for them. She pulled Clea onto her hip, and pressed a kiss to her husband's cheek. "So when is he expected, love?"
"Now" Bret replied. On cue, a knock was heard at the door. The vampire king quickly opened it and their stood a man who was shaking like a leaf. "Thank you for having the good sense to be frightened. Please come in, Daniel" Stepping aside, he watched the vampire enter the room and prepare to take a seat. "I didn't tell you that you could sit down. Now, do you know who we are?" Bret asked. Daniel nodded, his hand clutching the edge of his shirt. "..t..ttth...the old ones. The King and Queen" Bret looked to his wife with a half-smile. He was going to have a little fun. "That's right and yet, in the presence of royalty you decide not to show any respect. If you truly believed in our hierarchy then you would've bowed your head before you entered and kissed the Queen's hand. Young vampires, so arrogant" Lurching forward, Bret grabbed the back of the visitors neck and forced his head down to Alex's waiting hand. Daniel softly kissed it as Bret freed him. "Now, why don't you tell us what you know about the recent spate of murders and turnings in this area" The vampire looked to Clea, he found it strange a child in this environment. "Word…word is that somebody is looking for something, something called the light. He thinks it's here so he's turning people to hunt for it or killing people for information"
As the man kneeled to kiss her hand Alex kept her face straight, her eyes looking a little cold. As her husband caught her gaze, her eyes sparkled playfully at his, her mouth curling into a hint of a smirk. Clea giggled and gurgled, holding her hand out, mimicking her mother's. Alex kissed her temple, before shifting her to her other hip. "I don't think that's the truth" She caught the male in question looking at her daughter, and her rage grew. With a sharp kick of her knee, she knocked the male onto his back, her heel coming down to press on his throat. "If I catch you looking at my daughter again. I'll castrate you. Do we understand each other Daniel?" The male gurgled, trying to nod his agreement, "Good" Alex smiled tauntingly at him, before stepping back and leaving him yet again to her husband's questioning.
"Hm. What is the Light?" Bret asked as he released Daniel from his grip. "Nobody knows. Only those that are looking for it do" The king scratched his head with his fingertip. "And who is looking for it?" He was becoming frustrated. "I don't know. Whoever it is, their network is big. They're well-guarded and their name is nowhere near the street" Bret looked into Alex's big blue eyes and smiled before turning back to Daniel and placing a hand on his shoulder. He looked deep into Daniel's eyes with a hypnotic gaze. "Are you telling us the truth, Daniel?" The young vampire replied with an affirmative nod. "How can you compel me? A vampire can't use suggestion on another vampire" Bret simply smiled. "I can. Well you have been incredibly helpful, Daniel thank you. One last piece of business" In a single swift motion, Bret drove his fist through the vampires chest and tore out his heart.
At the gut wrenching squelch and tear of the heart being pulled from Daniel's chest, a squeak of giggling could be heard from Clea, who was bouncing gleefully on her mother's hip, her chubby little hands clapped happily, and she reached out towards her father, making grabby hands at him. Alex grinned and shrugged gently at her Husband. "She's her mother's daughter. Hungry as soon as she wakes up"
"Sure why not" Bret offered his hand out and watched as little Clea snatched the heart out of his palm and began devouring it. "Probably should've got her to put her bib on first" He laughed as he leaned in and kissed his wife's cheek.
"Not a problem. I'll bath her, then she'll be so full she'll go straight down for a nap, which gives us a good hour alone" She muttered it softly against his ear, dropping her mouth to press a kiss against his throat.
It was another typical day for the original vampires, dealing with business, but family always came first. But things could change. Devil's Pass was bustling with activity, and still coming to terms with Vampires being out in the open. But something was going wrong, vampires were being hunted. And the king and queen wanted to know who, and why.
