Apparently, my new school made a ton of changes over the last year in order to be more "green", as in everything is online and professors are only giving out paper syllabi if they're old fashioned. Now that's not too much of a problem in and of itself, but the school also spent a ton of money for faster wifi and got rid of the several varied networks that students would take advantage of. We expected that peak times would be a struggle but nearly every minute of the day is met with crawling wifi that loads a simple page in twenty to fifty minutes or just crashes. To make matters worse, sometimes a five minute window springs up in which you can browse everything quickly and watch high definition videos but they don't last long enough to do homework in. Our online homework assignments are more or less undo-able and it's impossible to cram enough of us into the wifi-rich library at any given time.
To top it all off, the IT department has been outsourced to Canada. The building is still there and there are people you can talk to, but the experts are in moose country. They won't help us.
