Long ago the land of Verineo was created by the God Ristoth. Ristoth created many things, land, sea, sky, beast, and Man in his own image to rule it all.
There was peace in those days, and Ristoth would even come to the Mortal Realm to live a mortal life. Every so often during these visits to the Mortal Realm Ristoth would have a child with a mortal woman. As these children grew they were bestowed great power from their father and in their mortal deaths would be reborn as Gods in the Realm of the Gods. As Ristoth grew older and had more children he decided to divide his world among his children, Giving each child a piece of land to call there own. Each child had their own ideas for their new nation and went to shaping and creating it how they saw fit, this lead to the birth of many new beasts, races and a more diverse world. Each Child had a special gift or talent they could bestow upon the people who lived in their lands that was based off the original power their father bestowed upon them. This ability would be shown as a mark on the body of the person and this mark allowed the mortal to channel and harness some of the gods power giving birth to magic in the world.
This was the end of Ristoth's age of peace though, arguments between the brothers and sisters in the Realm of Gods would develop into wars between the nations in the Mortal Realm. Ristoth allowed the squabbles to settle themselves as most of his Children soon stopped their fighting when their people started to suffer. This all changed when Ristoth's second son Valatros decided that he wanted to control more and rule the land as his father once did. Valatros launched a grueling assault onto the lands of his brothers and sisters and showed no sign of slowing down no matter how much suffering his people went threw. This continued until Ristoth himself and a few of his other children went to the Mortal Realm to confront Valatros face to face. The battle was fierce and bloody and ended with Ristoth crippling Valatros and banishing him into the Shadow Realm.
Since then the world has known relative peace. And in the calm Nations have thrived and grown. But now after such a long period of peace the people of Verineo have become relaxed and have allowed a new evil to creep into the shadows and threaten the world once again.
Aldchau is a cozy nation settled in the Frozen North. Governed by the Goddess of Control Seraphina. Due to the intense cold and difficulty to move across the land, especially in the winter months, A tribal system is in place where each city/tribe governs itself and the only time the Tribes come together is when Seraphina wills it and her Priests make it so. The people of this land have the ability to create and control elemental constructs that can be used for many different things. And due to some very advanced showings of this controller magic some of the seemingly lifeless constructs were given a soul and now move of their own free will giving birth to the race of Golems.
Alivasta is the nation of wilds and forests. Watched over by the Goddess of Nature Diana. Those who live in the forests answer to the goddess' will as she rules among her people, while those who live outside the forests govern themselves with little influence from Diana. And because this nation has so many high peaks and vast skies Amun created a species of human who could enjoy the skies and everything it has to offer, the Harpuia.
The Isles of Illuim are a group of tropical islands between the mainland and Homomy. These islands were always the favorite place on the entire planet for the Goddess of Water Aya. Those who live on land live by the churches rule as Aya governs her people with love, while those who live at sea are free to govern themselves as it is hard to get them all together at once to make any real decision. The blessed individuals of Illuim can manipulate water in any form. Because of her love for water Aya created a Human like creature that could live in the water and enjoy all its comforts the Yulishees
The land of Lyedar is unlike any other. The land is built upon the arcane with floating structures and magical designs. Watched over by the Goddess of Arcane Clio, Lyedar is ruled by a Council of elder Magi who hold all the power of the land. Due to their magical Incite it is common for the mages of Lyedar to be able to control another elemental power besides that of the Arcane. Clio experimented with but was never able to fully develop a creature of the arcane, but there are a few animals that roam the land that have been fused with the Arcane changing them and improving their abilities.
Miniana was the point of creation, the first land created by Ristoth himself. The people of this Nation live in a very closed off but democratic society. Most of the nation keeps itself shut away not believing in the "other gods". The people of Miniana believe themselves the perfect society created by Ristoth and shun those created by his children. Being the birthplace of life, Miniana is where the Human race originated from.

When Hodir created his nation he needed a species that could navigate the caves of his land and find him the precious materials that hid deep within, this gave birth to the Dwarves and to this day the Dwarven king holds one of the two places of power in Thart.
The land once ruled by the God of Ice Valantros. After Valantros was banished the lands he once ruled over were abandoned by those who lived there. Now the only things that live in the Forgotten Isles are the monsters that Valantros left behind. And those who go there rarely come come back.

Ristoth's First child, The God of Stone and the Blacksmith of the gods. known for his ability to create legendary weapons and suits of armor. During his first life in the Mortal World Hodir was very interested and consumed by materials and blacksmithing. And because of this fascination his father gave Hodir the ability to control all types of stone. Hodir has also been named Ristoth's successor if the time comes when a god truly dies
Ristoth's Second child, Originally the god of Ice but after being incredibly jealous of his older brother he tried to take the lands of all his brothers and sisters. This lead to his banishment and his lands falling to ruins. Threw the years the stories of how Valantros became the God of Ice have disappeared from the records and is now unknown.

Magic in this world is provided by the powers of the Gods, Ristoth's original Children. Each of his children were gifted with a particular element based on their personalities and such and in turn they could bestow control of this magic to the people of their nation. So the ability to control magic is given at birth and is signified in a tattooish marking somewhere on the skin. A person is only able to wield the type of magic they are born with except for a few rare mages who have the ability to tap into other elements. (usually those who have the bloodline of the gods or the child of two mage parents from different nations.) Magic is used by channeling the energy from the Mark into an attack or whatever you are using the magic for. In this action the mark itself glows bright and shows through clothing and armor. As for Limits, for your natural element you can grow to mastery and the rare mages who can use others can never gain full control of other magic types and are limited in what they can do. Those limits are on an individual case basis and is not the same for any two mages. Otherwise your limits are how much the power drains from you. Because every spell you cast has a draw on you and can tire you out, small things have a small draw big thing have larger ones.
Note: Just because you have magic doesn't make you an all powerful mage. If you have spent your life not working with your magic you won't suddenly be able to move a mountain. It would be like any fighting style or craft, you have to work at it to be really good at it.
Human - You most likely are one, so I won't bother explaining a human jack of all trades can be good at just about anything.
Elf - Humanoid like forest dwellers, pointed ears and very long life spans. Quick and Nimble although not physically strong very smart.
Dwarf - Short Humanoids, greedy little guys that like gold and rocks, they also have longer than average life spans. Strong but Slower than others, Smart when it comes to the ways of architecture, mining, and war, but a very suborn people who refuse to change.
Golem - Elemental constructs that were originally meant to serve their masters, but were implanted with a soul and came to life as their own person, they have incredibly long life spans and are nearly immortal. Very strong very big. Not very intelligent it is a rock after all.
Dragonkin - The last legacy of Ancient Dragons although they lost their ability to transform into full fleshed dragons, they still have the tails and wings of a dragon, they also have the ability to breath fire like the old dragons. Their life spans are about double that of a normal human. Great strength, ability to fly with wings, and breath fire, but not nimble or fast while on the ground. Average Intelligence, but very hard headed
Necolom - Neocoloms are a race of people who appear human with the substitution of animal, mainly of the mammal category, parts for various body parts or the addition of animal parts like a tail. They are incredibly fast due to their animal like tendencies. they have a normal human lifespan. Very fast and Nimble can outrun any other race. fast yet seemingly primitive when it comes to intelligence.
Yulishees - They are sort of like a mermaid and appear to have human shape with fin like ears and a variety of skin and hair color with smooth skin. As expected, they live underwater in seas or lakes. Because of this they have no single living area, as they are spread across the oceans, but come together in one area usually near a lake or sea to communicate and govern their race. 150 year life spans. while their performance out of water falls to just below average in all areas, if they are in water they excel across the board and can out preform any other race in the water. average intelligence.
Harpuia - a race of feather folk, IE Humans with wings. Essentially they are the same as angels except their wings are lower in their backs. Just like humans, they are very varied in appearance with the exception of the wings, which in turn can come in a number of colors. Harpuias have a great sense of direction, similar to those of some birds. They seem to prefer living in mountainous regions where they have forts built around their homes. They appear to rarely interact with other races preferring to remain in their town and villages. have a normal human life span. They are quick and smart, and they can fly,but they are not physicaly strong.
