Helo, to whomever reads this. I'm looking do a few 1-on-1 roleplays, both for the joy of doing it and as a means of getting better at text-based roleplaying.
I place a heavy emphasis on character development, backstory and plot advancement, (though a set plot is not at all necessary) so please take that into consideration.
My favorite genre is usually medieval/renaissance fantasy. I have a deep fascination with ancient folklore and mythology, and am a bit of a history geek. On the other hand, I dislike a lot of modern fantasy settings, such as Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter, so bear that in mind.
Other settings I particularly enjoy are mostly modern. I love undead, and the idea of a setting akin to the film I Sell the Dead is quite welcome.
I'm not specifically looking for either romance or adventure; either works. In both cases, I'm currently only playing males, and in romantic situations, I will only do mxf in a romantic sense.
I love the dark and morbid, and I generally find that the darker the setting, the more depth there is, so long as it isn't pointlessly dark and just whiney. A lot of ideas that seem too dark, violent, kinky or morbid, I'll welcome into the story with open arms, especially if it opens a door to character development.
In regards to partners, beyond the writing quality that the Advanced tag in the Title suggests, my requests are, I think, pretty basic:
Post at least every few days. If you, for whatever reason, are taking a break or altogether quitting, please tell me.
Female rpers are preffered, though not necessary.
I expect posts to be at least a paragraph or two. Overly long posts also aren't necessary and can even actually detract from the quality, though an occasional one is certainly welcome.
I'm okay with most language. Curse away if it fits the situation-in-characater, at least.
While I have no experience with roleplaying it, I'm okay with smut. Should we get into that, though, I do ask that we move those posts, if not the entire rp, to pms or such so as to adhere to the forum rules.
For romantic stories, there are certain things I won't play:
Most fanfics. I may be convinced on a few; generally, though, no.
Rape, infidelity and incest, with the exception of when it is a form of corrupting the subject and leading into them becoming willing. Corruption is VERY welcome.
Furries (cute monster girls, http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...uteMonsterGirl nekomimis and such are a grey area)
vampires are a grey area. Most vampire series I dislike; when done well, they can be great, though. Vampires and werewolves together are a definite no-go.
