Kaito is cheerful, despite the hard times at home and rude cliques in town. He loves talking to and meeting new people. He's also very affectionate, referring to people with -chan
tacked to the end of their name even if they've only just met. Kaito is a loyal and protective friend and sibling. He gets flustered and offended quite easily though, and holds a nasty grudge for all of five minutes before breaking down and forgiving the other.
Kaito was born in Japan, where his half-Japanese mother met his father while returning to the country to visit her family. They moved to America when he was six, and his twin brothers, Matsu and Mitsu, were born a few years later. Up until the middle of his Junior year, Kaito was in the rich clique, but his family lost a significant amount of money when his father passed. His mother had to find a job and is often gone working the various occupations she was able to get, so Kaito babysits his younger brothers a lot, who are now seven.
Kaito refers to people using Japanese honorifics and occasionally uses Japanese words without realizing it. He has a terrible case of acrophobia (fear of heights) and has always wanted to go to a theme park.
