Beyond Good and Evil
The Outcasts Of Skyrim IC
Out of Character!
All of her training, all the preparation for this event, and the fact that she had every advantage at this point did nothing to calm Tomika's nerves. Even if her attack went off without a hitch, it would be the first person she had directly killed with her own hands, and the anticipation was killing her.
Hiding high above her targets, nestled snugly in a cold, wet outcropping, Tomika was peering through the rain at the people she would be fighting. Currently, the group of four were frantically setting up tents, trying to hide from the seasons strongest storm. Despite how comical it was to watch tent parts being ripped from their grasp by the wind, or seeing any number of them falling to the wet ground, Tomika remained silent, and still as a grave. These people, agents of the Silver Hand, would thoughtlessly murder her given the chance, and she would show them the same consideration. Though honestly, she had not idea how to go about it. They were trained to handle her kind, and she had never fought as a werewolf. She would have to employ a more guileful method than simply transforming and assaulting them directly. At any rate, these people had tents, and eventually would have a fire.
After the storm let up some, Tomika finally resigned herself to her fate. She was cold, soaking wet, and didn't even know if she had it in her to kill these people. She quietly retreated from her overlook and worked her way off the side of the small mountain, following the road back around to the camp. Despite how late at night it was, and the light rain that still clouded the air, their sentry spotted her almost before she saw him. The man walked out into the road to meet her with one hand on his swords hilt. She forced a smile, making a rather convincing display of it, and stopped at she she figured was just out of the mans reach. should he draw his sword, she would easily be able to outrun him, being a lighter person with much less armor. That little bit of security meant little to her, however, as she could literally smell the mans silver sword, and it took a decent amount of focus to not look at it or appear sick.
"excuse me, you wouldn't happen to have a little extra room in your camp would you? I didn't anticipate a storm, and now that I'm all wet i don't think i can make the trip."
The man carefully looked her over as he spoke, "we have room, but we don't just allow strangers into our camp. We don't know anything about you, you could stab us in our sleep."
Ironically, that was more or less what she had in mind.
"please...I just need to dry off before I set out again. I'll leave as soon as I'm able, I don't need to sleep."
The man sighed, and motioned for her to follow. After a few moments, they had her covered with a blanket, situated close to the fire, and her cloths on a rack they had made out of sticks, drying out. The clouds were thick, but quickly thinning, revealing bits of the moon occasionally, which she couldn't help but to look at it. It was incredibly entrancing for her, filling her with a calm, blissful feeling, which had not gone unnoticed. One of them sat down next to her, having dragged a rock of similar size next to her own. He leaned forward, bracing his elbows on his knees.
He said something, but she was totally out of it, her eyes fixed to the sky. The clouds were slowly rolling away from the moon. The man reached over and pushed lightly on her shoulder. Looking around she realized that they were all wearing their armor still. All of them were armed, and watching her.
The man next to her stood and slowly drew his sword. Tomika threw her blanket off and jumped away, coming down behind her rock, close to her equipment
"Don't make any sudden movements! Were you bitten recently?"
Tomika frantically begged for her life, "I wont change! I promise, I can control it! please don't kill me!"
She started to reach for her knife, but touched nothing but a bare leg.
As the man started to advance, Tomika turned, snatched up her bag, and sprinted away, a sword missing her narrowly. The group chased after her, but had little chance of gaining on her, weighed down by their equipment as she had anticipated. What she didn't expect, however, was one of them drawing his bow. Though she was well ahead of them and quickly distancing herself, the long stretch of road allowed him plenty of time to loose
an arrow on her. The missile soared down the road, and found its mark, driving itself into her forearm. Tomika screamed in pain, the silver of the arrowhead burning deeply, and quickly turned off the road, losing herself in the woods.

It was a grey day in Skyrim,or perhaps it wasn't,everyday seemed bleak in Riften.Be it the constant
crime,or the merky water underfoot that seemed to have no bottom,Riften always had a way of turning even the happiest
looking days depressing.Kimiko was here selling off skins she gathered to Balimund, the local smith. He and Kimiko always
enjoyed talking, mostly because Kimiko did not judge him for finding profit in the war.As Kimiko approached,Balimund smiled
uncontrollably and put down his work."Kimiko! How are you!?","Balimund, you dariit you!Still swindeling people out of their
gold?","More than I'd like actually, just got a request for 20 more shields","Oh?I thought your shields were stronger than
that","They are,but they still don't do good against those damned dragons...so,I take it you're here to sell off the usual
load?","yes, got it all in my bag".Kimiko took out 8 skinned pelts from her large bag and presented them to Balimund.
Blaimund looked them over and showed awe at her skill,"You know, with work like this,it's a shame to see it all go to leather
straps...also,I saw some strange men come through the other day","strange how?","Strange as in they were in uniform, but
not the usual garb you see the guards in,and they came to me asking about using silver on their arrows, something about
needin my to use my forge specifically cus of the fire salts I feed 'er","Silver?why would they need that?","probably
from that sect against the vampires and the like...anyway,I've got a large order to fill,so I have to get back to it,oh,and
here's your payment".
Kimiko needed to get salt from the Elgrim's Elixers. While she was there, she picked up a cure disease
potion, some tundra cotton, some purple mountain folwers,a few charus eggs, and a few gourds. She thought about asking around
about that group who needed the silver, but she figured she's better off asking someone else, someone who knew their way around
Skyrim. So she got her tasks done and left,as she headed out of Riften, she spoke with the Khajiit sitting outside, there she
could sit without covering her head."Here are the flowers and eggs you wanted."Kimiko said, handing off her delivery,"Much
obliged,i hope it's not asking too much, but you have any da'khe to spare?","of course, here, ahn trajiir",Kimiko stated as she
took out a bottle of water and gave it to him."Hey,have you heard of any of those vigilants of stendar coming through here?",
"hmm...not any that I can remember, why?","Some people were seen looking to have their silver forged in fires laced with
firesalts"."It could be a flashy jihatt'ra,hehehe,I kid,of course, but in all seriousness,I do not think it was the vigilants"
,"Who else would want treated silver, though?","there iss another group that uses silver weapons,I have only heard of them, but
they wear these big plates of armour and hunt werewolves exclusively...".Kimiko felt uneasy about their presence in the Rift.
"Thankyou, but I must go",Kimiko said as she left their tent.As she walked outside, this meant she had to put her
hood back on.As she walked back to her camp, the skies start to darken,"Vaba rawlith....",Kimiko muttered under her breath
looking at the sky,and sure enough,it started pouring down rain.As Kimiko was hurrying back to her camp, she heard a
bone-chilliing scream come from deep in the woods in the direction opposite of her camp.Kimiko started sprinting towards the
noise, not even sure why she was headed there, just acting on instinct. When she got to where she thought the scream came from,
she didn't find anyone nearby.Kimiko was in a panic,"what just happened?Where is the girl I heard?Am I in danger?",Kimikos mind
was racing with questions, but she needed to stop and stay calm.Closing her eyes, she put these questions aside, and tried to listen
for any movement. It was hard to hear anything with the rain,so she looked around for clues.
She saw footprints in the ground, they were deep and pointed,so it was someone wearing heavy gear. She kept
looking around and saw blood smeared on a tree. She stood there, looking at it,examining it.She gasped as she realized it was a
humans blood, she kept looking around, following the trail the suits left behind. After a short distance, she could see they turned
back, whoever it was they were chasing, they were fast. This person had to be light, since they weren't really leaving much of a
trail on the ground, but they were definitely bleeding all over the pace.Kimiko followed the trail of blood to a young girl lying
naked on the forest floor. She had an arrow in her arm,and the wound seemed to be bleeding abnormally badly.Whoever was chasing
this girl, they were confident that she was dead.Kimiko set down her pack and took out some a spare deer hide, and some bandages.
She took out the arrow and wrapped the wound up tight, then she wrapped the girl in the hide and
carried her through the woods.Kimiko made it back to her camp without the girl waking up,Kimiko stuffed her into a sleeping bag
and pushed her into the tent, and she sat outside boiling rabbit meat in the cooking pot. While trying to figure out what had
happened, she heard some men run up to her camp."Ma'am,have you heard any strange noises nearby?","What kind of noises
are we talking about, jihatt?","what did you call me?" the man said drawing his sword."Jihatt,I meant nothing by it,it just means
mercenary","We are NOT mercenaries, cat","guards then?","no","oh,then would you like to buy some moonsugar?I'm just cooking up the
next batch right here".One of the men nudged the leader and muttered "boss, let's just go,even if they did hear something,I doubt
they could remember","Ooooh, the stars are so very pretty tonight",Kimiko said looking at the clouds,"yes, you're probably right",
the leader replied before instructing his men to head out.Kimiko watched them leave,"pfft, jekosit" she muttered under her breath,
then went back to cooking her rabbit, counting herself lucky she was not mistaken for a werewolf again.

Beyond Good and Evil
Unbearable, whit hot searing pain. That was the only thing Tomika could focus on. She was in a dead run, sprinting blindly through the woods without any idea where she was going. Blood, hot and red, poured from her arm where the arrow struck her, blood loss robbing her of her stamina. After running for what seemed like an eternity, Tomika's body finally gave out, leaving her cold, anemic, and exhausted on the forest floor. Soon after, someone started tugging at the arrow in her left arm. Tomika, hardly conscious, tried to struggle against the person, but quickly found herself wrapped in a hide and hauled off. Hours passed before Tomika finally woke up. The sun was out, the sky was clear, and Tomika was warm and dry. She almost didn't want to move, but she had no idea where she was, who took her from the forest, or where her stuff was.
Tomika shifted slightly, feeling her lack of clothing against the soft fur, and started taking stock of her surroundings. in the tent with her were a few bags and an array of camping equipment. Tomika pulled one of the bags to herself, opened it, and began looking around for anything useful. no weapons, just some dirty cloths and a few gold coins. Tomika puller herself from the blankets and wrapping, wincing when she tried to use her off hand, and quickly dressed herself in a pair of muddied pants, a somewhat cleaner shirt, and, grudgingly, the proper undergarments. The stench of sweat and dirt was so strong it was distracting, and she found herself wondering if they had ever been washed. Tomika quickly focused back to her current situation, peering out of the relative safety of the tent, at the person cooking over an open flame. She had half a mind to just crawl back under the blankets, but she was hungry, and felt a need to thank this person for her kindness.
Tomika silently exited the tent, looking around for her belongings, but seeing only trees surrounding the little clearing they were in. She noted the odd presence of ears on the persons head instantly, but was really on the lookout for weapons. As she crept closer, she observed a nord longsword hanging from her belt. Tomika circled around the fire, walking in front of her with the fire between the two of them.
She tried to make eye contact, but the uncanny presence of khajiit ears drew her gaze to them, "um, hello. I wanted to thank you for helping me, but i don't have anything to offer you as a reward. And, i don't mean to impose but, do you think it's possible for me to have some of that?" Tomika gestured at the food situated between them, eyeing it hungrily.
"Oh, I'm Tomika. I'm sorry, i let my manners slip for a moment."
As Kimiko poured the rabbit stew into a bowl,Kimiko introduced herself."Ettofarwalkah Joaahnni'ma,but you can call me Kimiko".Kimiko held out the bowl for Tomika, and asked,"so,Tomika, why were those men after you?",her eyes fixated on Tomikas reaction.
Beyond Good and Evil
Tomika smiled, eagerly taking the bowl while neglecting to thank her. Her animal blood was forcing the damaged tissue of her arm to regenerate at an extreme rate, and her body demanded food. Only after getting half way through the bowl did she realize she had been asked a question.
"Men? Oh, i was on my way to riften, and happened by their camp. They offered me shelter from the rain, but turned out to have ulterior motives. Thankfully i managed to escape them, but i still paid for my naivety. They really followed me all the way here? They must have been rather ashamed of themselves to hunt me for so long."
Satisfied with her lie, Tomika continued to devour her food.
"Oh,I'm sorry to hear that...",Kimiko said as she poured soup into her bowl.Kimiko stared at Tomika while she ate, something didn't feel right about this girl, she didn't seem hostile, even after seeing the ears, maybe she was like her?A half-breed?If she was,it definitely didn't show...Kimiko continued eating her soup, when finally she broke the silence."I shall take you into Riften, there you'll be able to get everything you need. After that, you should dekoh, and forget about your gear.Afterall, those men have it now,and there's no telling where they went to..."
Beyond Good and Evil
Tomika pondered this for a moment, working on her food as she thought.
"obviously i don't have any money, i don't know what good Riften is going to do me at this point. Though maybe if we went and looked for my bag... i have a good amount of coin in it"
"I was willing to lend you some gold...",Kimiko said, looking at the bandage on Tomikas arm.Kimiko had this strange feeling eating at her,"Don't you find my appearance a little...strange?",she finally inquired.
Beyond Good and Evil
Tomika gave a knowing smirk as she responded, "I've learned that appearances are only one part of a persons identity. and sure, it's a little odd, but i care more about the part of you that saw fit to save me from bandits. At any rate, should you lend me the gold, i'll be sure to pay you back later on. You're almost to kind for your own good, and i'd hate to take advantage of that."
Kimiko smiles at Tomika while untying her coin purse, she open it up and glances at the coins."Right, this should be enough jah",she says closing her coin purse.Kimiko puts out the fire and picks up her bag."We will tohei, the stores should be open by the time we get there",she stated, gesturing Tomika to follow her.
