Kingdom In Peril
Cyrus entered into Augustine Cain's study or office through a window. Despite being an assassin, Augustine Cain seemed surprised at Cyrus' choice of entery. So you have finally arrived? At odd lengths as well. Cyrus didn't look amused as he entered the room and walked around Augustine's desk to face him. I don't favor people knowing of my whereabouts. So my methods of entrances and travel may seem odd to normal folk. Now tell me why you have summoned me all the way out here? Augustine Cain smirked an utterly devious and sinister smile.
He stood to his feet and walked to a window. Through this window and in the distance both Cyrus and Augustine could see King Harland's castle. I have a job, that not only requires a man of your caliber alone, but also utter secrecy. After you leave this room, you will head to King Harland's castle. Eliminate him, no matter what. Though do not kill his daughter that will more then predictably get in your way. For she is not your target, Kin- Augustine Cain was cut short from finishing his last sentence.
Cyrus had heard more then enough from the traitors mouth. You are a fool to ask such a thing from me. I may be a notorious assassin, but not for those reasons. Augustine chuckled for a bit before he spoke again. Why not? Not only do I know your more then qualified. You are also the only man I know that can perform this job. Cyrus shook his head and started to take his leave. Like I said before and will say once more. You are foolish for asking me to do such a thing, all the coin and persuasion in the world would not change my loyalty. Cyrus as sitting on the window sill now, staring at Augustine trying to fathom what would make him try such action. Power? Money? What is it that moves your hand to such traitorous acts I do not know nor care. However-
Before Cyrus could continue, Augustine Cain spoke. My actions are unfathomable by A man of your intelligence. I wouldn't expect you to understand, you are just a lowly assassin after-all. Though its to bad, if you would of just agreed and done as asked. You and I would be rather rich and powerful individuals. Cyrus had laughed unlike he had in a while. Oh Augustine, Augustine Cain. Not only do you prove to be a traitor, but also A completely foolish man. Do you really find me gullible enough to believe you? You are stupid to think I am some pawn you can use to higher yourself. These words quickly and obviously angered Augustine.
Augustine turned his attention to a wooden dummy or statue of sorts, that held his armor and weapon. When he rushed over to it and grabbed his faithful lance he quickly went to throw it. Augustine Cain turned and aimed his lance to throw only to see that Cyrus was gone.
Cyrus had back-flipped off of the window sill to the outside. Knowing as soon as Augustine started moving that is was hostile due to resisting his offer. When he reached the ground his direction shifted and swiftly he went towards King Harland's castle. 'I know Augustine's thirst for power is heavy. But is it enough to cause him to kill the king himself? Even if not, the king must know of his treacherous thoughts and attempts. If Augustine had not already begun his strike due to my actions.' Cyrus moves quicker then he ever had, while also bringing unnecessary attention while doing so. Bringing unnecessary attention to himself was not at all enjoyed by Cyrus, but due to matters he gave no care to who noticed him.
Putting the his lance down, Augustine began to armor himself rather swiftly. It wasn't long before he was out the door and on his horse headed to the castle. As scheduled he knew what Cyrus would do, already have sending several of his best men and warriors to do the job for him. Augustine's only regret, not acting quicker and killing Cyrus on the spot. For he had an odd feeling Cyrus would be a terrible hindrance in his plans..........
