Looking for a co-gm.
The setting of this role play will take place during the great mage war, before the time of the actual books. I will be changing some of the lore around to make the role play more open. Some names, places, people, even the outcome of the war may change depending on the characters involved in this role play. I am very open to the suggestions some of you may have.
The wizards of the New World firmly believe that people with the gift of magic have a right to live in peace and harmony with the world. The New World wizards believe that magic, when used responsibly, was a tool of good. On the other hand, the wizards and people of the Old World believed magic was a destructive tool, that gave those who possessed it power over others that no one had a right to. Tensions began to build between then the two nations, creating a rift between the peoples of the New and Old worlds. People of the Old world began to lash out at what they seen as their oppressors, the free peoples of the New world will answer in kind.
Each side of the war, is continuously looking for breakthroughs in magical warfare. Even the Old World wizards, who despise the very magic they are gifted with, make use of their skills to cause their enemies harm. Experiments on other wizards or human beings are seen as an effective way of creating new weapons to use against the opposition. Additive Magic is used to add to or create the traits or skills that would be required for the desired weapon and Subtractive Magic is used to take away those traits or skills that were not required. This is a very painful experience for the participant and in many cases they died. However, when successfully altered into a weapon, these enhanced wizards or people could be an incredible menace to those fighting on the other side of the war and in many cases are quite deadly. (As far as characters I will allow, I don't have any specific requirements. Be creative and if it's not too powerful that it would throw off the storyline I will accept it.)
The war has not yet formally begun, but conversations as to a peaceable ending have ceased. Both sides see themselves as being right and will fight to the death to prove it. This is where you will be thrown in. You will start as a simple soldier, or wizard in the battle. If anyone really wants to play one of the main characters of the story, such as Baraccus the first wizard at the time, let me know and we can discuss it. I would like everyone to make their own characters though, you could always play two if you wanted and have the time!
If no one wants to play on the old world side (I can see that happening.) I will just NPC the encounters. I think it would be great though to have both sides fighting as player characters.
Default types of characters.
(War wizard) Can use both additive and subtractive magic.
(Trained wizard) Not born with the gift of magic, these people were trained to use it by wizards.
(Sorceress) A female class of wizard. They hold many of the same powers but can only harness additive magic. (unless the forsake the creator and sell themselves to the keeper of the underworld.) Most reside at the palace of prophets, where a spell cast over the building lets them age at a very slow rate. They are however known to travel when the need is great.
(Soldier) A knight/warrior class.
(Mord-Sith) New world/female only. Fierce warriors, VERY skilled in the arts of torture. Use a magic weapon called an Agiel, in addition they are immune to magic. If magic is used on a mord-sith she can capture it and use it to defeat the caster.)
(Confessor) Confessors are a race of people, restricted to the female gender, with the power to destroy a human soul and give them only the desire to serve the Confessor who took them. Anyone taken by a Confessor's power finds delight only in serving the Confessor's desires, to the extreme that if a Confessor asks a person she took to die, they would fall dead that instant. A confessors' power has a 2 day cool down period. Upon using it she is left weak and must rest to recover from the toll the magic takes on her.

-Motivation (Is there a reason your character is fighting? Please put it here if there is.)
-Equipment (What do you carry with you? No overly powerful weapons or armor. You can have something enchanted, if you do it MUST have a back story. Wizards of this time do not take things such as that lightly.)

4. This role play is rated "R". Please be as violent as you want but make sure the more... intimate posts are kept to PMs.
