“It won’t be long until humans overpopulate the Earth causing their own demise.” That’s what you’ve always heard people say, and to you it seems that this time has already come.
You’re a NEET, a young person full of life and deprived of a future. Jobs are so hard to get that you’ve never worked a day in your life. Not that you haven’t tried – being a NEET is all kinds of humiliating and troublesome but you’ve never been deemed qualified enough.
But something changed a week ago. VR Worlds, the biggest Virtual Reality corporation announced they would be recruiting the three best future game developers in the world. There were no conditions to be met except to be between 15 and 35 years of age and to travel to their Recruitment Office set in a small private island close to Japan.
You’ve had enough of being a useless part of society and you jumped the opportunity to change.
There was no way you could have known just how carefully VR Worlds would chose its newest employees...
The story will start at the job interview where you’re presented with the most innovative VR suit ever created – a suit that allows you the most realistic experiencing of any game, full with the unique opportunity to scream in pain and bleed all over the carpet before the most advanced medical procedures take care of your wounds and allow you to heal with a night’s rest... just like in a game.
This is where the fun part starts. In order to select the best game developers the job candidates will be put through all kinds of trials. Whoever has the best performance in the most games gets the job. Only three people will be employed and you would have to work very hard to be one of them...
The Rules of the games:
The story will be a compilation of many small “trials” or “games”. Each one will have its own genre and storyline and I’ll be looking to complete each within 5 posts of each person. (Depending on how interesting the particular storyline is we could discuss how long to make it.)
Who creates the games?
I will be creating the first storyline. It will be an ayakashi festival where the players will have to meet a human and persuade them to let them live alongside. It will be set in a folkloristic medieval Japan.
From there on out we will take turns to develop the games. Based on the sequence of CSes submitted, the players themselves will be coming up with a new storyline turning them into the GMs of this particular trial / story. (If some of you struggle you can ask for help and someone else can take over the plot for you).
The role of those rotating GMs will not only be to come up with a sub-plot. When it’s your turn to be a GM you will also get to decide who “wins” the current trial / game. That way you award one star to the player who you thought performed the best. You don’t have to tell us why you chose that person if you don’t want to – it’s just a matter of your personal preference. I sincerely hope there will be no pouting because of that system.
Other Important Info:
There are no limitations about what storyline you want to put our characters through. It could be anything: from murder mystery to a wolf-pack setting, from learning to fly to escaping a zombie-infested prison, from seducing the school idol to baking the best cake. Let your imagination free!
When voting for the best post you can NOT vote for the same person twice in a row. This is to avoid alliances of the sort “you vote for me and I’ll vote for you”.
Who am I hoping would join us:
I’m looking for a group of up to 10 people who are devoted enough to post once every 1-3 days, with wild imaginations and excesses of creative energy.
PS: I would strongly encourage adding multimedia to the settings – inspirational clips, music or pictures. Not because we have to but because it sounds cool.
