Spaceship In The Drift
Or, much better worded as;
Freighter Set Adrift
(Worded as Spaceship In The Drift for a much better understanding.)
Summary: Think Cabin In The Woods, except on a spaceship, where GM's are the people behind the glass, and players are Creatures or characters. The Story is about a group of "low-class" space-farers (have you smugglers, freighters, bounty hunters, etc.), and are looking to buy a new ship. Little do they know, the people selling the ship, are going to be having a little fun with some left over experiments, hostile alien creatures, and everything in between.
The year? The year doesn't really matter, it's like 2020 something. But what does matter, is an exciting adventure that a few people will be having, as they scout out for a brand new ship to use in their career. A Captain, though more than likely not some high class rich official, and his crew, probably not the best at what they do, have finally saved enough of their Credits to buy a new ship. And what do you know? A large freighter has went up for sale, and surprisingly, it's new, and very cheap. Who knows? Maybe it's just got some damaged coils, and everyone knows how much those damn things are to replace, but it's no problem for these guys! However, when they go to check out the fancy ship, some things get changed. Who knows what may happen inside this spaceship as it drifts out to uncharted territory, no shuttles, and no one has the key. Aside from the spontaneous and hazardous events that come with floating your tug boat about in space, we think it'll be getting much, much worse.
Hey guys, some of you may know me, at least I recall some people remembering me. Some of you may have seen my old scifi/creature survival interest check, and those who may participate in this roleplay may even be from that thread. Well here's how things are going to be set up in this roleplay. Not everything is going to be up front and blunt, unfortunately. Player's will be able to create characters and creatures, but there is only a max of 7 characters, and unlimited monsters. One character per person, and a max of two monsters per person, unless they come up with something truly too good to pass up. This next part might push you away; Creature sheets will actually be PM'd to (any) GM's and they will be discussed and then approved or disapproved. This way we give the players a little bit of surprise as they (hopefully) won't know what they'll be up against, how does that not sound fun? Another thing I should note. Some of you may freak out about this, but there is plausible cause for it; I will have a max of 10 Co-GM's. Okay, just calm down, and listen. These GM's will have partial decision on each character sheet and creature sheet, and we all will discuss random events that happen, which may include asteroid fields, radiation, collisions, etc. But incharacter, we will be partying and choosing what creatures to release next, maybe even creatively coming to a decision. This all means there may be a large player count, that is if the people join. If you find this roleplay the slightest bit interesting that it makes you want to participate, then tell your friends. Word of mouth, or in this case, word of text, is the best way to get this roleplay out there! And each day we have about 300+ people roaming about on the site, not including the guests.
So... tell me what you think?
