"The World That Never Was"...
And here it is, please check out the (I)n (C)haracter;
First notes are that this RP will be driven by both players and me, and that can be discussed via PM, It will most definitely involve magic and action, but technology is welcomed as long as it is accepted by me or other GMs. Think if it kind of like a sandbox, and everything in the existing world, you can have fun with as long as it is reasonable with the lore/content. It will start out in slightly futuristic modern times, but is going to bridge to other places and settings as well as it progresses.
There can be romantic interactions too, as I love a good taste of romance, but don't go around interacting solely on the basis of that, this is a reasonable RP. Though comedy relief is always welcome around here, and it's always fun to see that type of conversation. My one main goal with this RP is to make a small community of friends that will post and have fun, all the while enjoying some serious plot movements and points.
But initially, I have a short plot to follow just so everyone can establish an idea of the world and feel of things.
I'm looking for people who will be able to post at least once a day, and are pretty Active on the RP (or in general.) as it will be a Mid-High Casual RP. But I will allow a lack of posting if you have a legitimate reason. So please keep this in mind before even thinking of applying. There will be a somewhat strict rule on short posts but if you give an explanation, I'll probably overlook it. I want people to have fun on this Rp and feel like they have a choice on what to do. Perhaps, you on late at night along with a few others but the rest of the cast isn't online, you'll be able to set off onto little side quests and such on your own!
My Time Zone is the Pacific Time Zone, UTC-8, so watch out for that when applying or posting. I will allow made up abilities, or whatever type of technology, magic, skill, as long as it's reasonable within the world, and of course, accepted by me! (Don't be scared to ask, I wouldn't bite... that's disgusting, who knows where you've been.)
A glimpse of the RP and the Of the World what it involves:
Everyone and everything will die in the end. That's the simplest thing a person must accept, and through this death, a soul is released from the mortal plane. Demons are damned beings who scavenge these souls, but are only able to eat the ones that have their specific taint on them, as in demons of violence and war can only eat souls most corrupt with Violence and war. This eating is extremely painful, as the very essence of a being is ripped ruthlessly apart, their fabric dissolved into the damned Demon's. They need this energy from a living soul to survive, and will go to no ends consuming it, though if they gather surplus, they become stronger. This is an explanation of why people overly “sin”, as it’s because of the demon’s tempting influence on their minds and souls; with each “sinly” act, their soul turns more and more sickeningly corrupted. Very concentrated places of "sin" or rituals of summoning, open miniscule cracks right in the Mortal Realm are the only known methods a demon is able to slip into that plane. With each corrupted soul consumed, a demon's life extend and they grow stronger, with their power threatening to break into the world of the Mortals to enslave them purely to feed upon them forever. It is the revenge of their master, their creator, maybe they call him “God” as we call ours, but either way, that is their main purpose in existence.
That day is called the Apocalypse, as humans have long forseen; the end of the world.
The year now is 2024;
Humanity is advancing normally, while technology is reaching new lengths of thought, and the population is slowly rising every passing day. However, so was the ability to sin, as things were getting easier to perform at this level of advancement, the convenience of technology just another tantalizing offer. There is a virtually no rate of crime in the high class world, as they relish in their sin, while the poorer nations struggle to survive under their already harsh and threatening conditions of the leftover world. The only middle ground are the select few that have still a good heart in the world;
Such beings that still persist in the belief of the existence of Angels, and of the other benevolent spirits that exist, that these strong-hearted entities will help save the world from the oncoming grim fate. Though, such beings are exhausted in power, and the amount of their numbers too thinned to make a significant difference in the world.
But such beings know not how to submit and will continue to resist the growing taint upon the world, not until the very end of their zealous lives.
Now, that isn’t firsthand knowledge, as most people move along their lives, going through the grind of work and the experience of raising a family, still unknown of what will befall them in death.
Some say the this ignorance is bliss, but those who have seen the excruciating pain of being consumed by the voracious Demons know otherwise.
The Gate of Suffering, the last creation the Mortal and Spiritual "God", left behind before his death, is starting to shake for the first time in decades, signalling the rising strength of the powers locked deep down in Hell.
It’s simple, there is a force out there “Harvesting” these souls, rather, taking them back from the demons, and that is where the RP begins. You will be joining this force, and will stop the demons from entering into the Mortal realm and basically destroy everything you ever loved.
Basic Information on the RP:
This RP is mainly focused on this particular organization and it's branches, trying to hunt down these demons that exist in the world, and do it in a way that doesn't cause mass panic and mayhem.
This organization is called the Redemption of Sin, and the ones working under them are the ones known as the Wandering Souls and Lost Souls who fall under the four different types of branches they can currently specialize in. (Which are the people you all will play as.)
To become one, you either have to die and be saved from another Wander Soul, or have reached certain circumstances where you are picked out of the living to join the ranks. (Unusually large Soul Radiance, or whatever. Refer to the tabs below for more detailed information.)
The Kindled Souls:
These certain Souls though, only when successfully awakening their own soul, naturally have physical abilities about 4 times more excelling than those capable of even the fittest of humans, and lose the necessity to eat, drink, or sleep. Though they can consume, Mortal objects that aren't magical that enter their bodies get immediately disintegrated, as a result, most agents only do so to fit in or as an act of nostalgia to their Mortal lives.
Awakened Soul's senses are much better as well, starting out with senses that are 3 times more powerful than the average human. Both these physical characteristics grow alongside with the Soul of an Kindled, making them stronger and more able to deal with the unearthly strength of the Demons, as their life and training progresses. These individuals no longer usually age, but rather the older their souls are, the stronger it is in general. They are immune to mortal poisons and diseases, but this doesn't mean that they are equally resistant to poisons from other souls or demon's. These Awakened Souls are able to better "train" their Soul by straining it through use, and as these individuals gain a better understanding of the strange magic within them, unlock new skills and abilities from their strengthened Soul Radiance. *See tab about Magic for more details on how a soul uses magic*
A soul is naturally able to feel another soul, through their Radiance, even a demon's, though it requires more effort and practice to detect better hidden souls. Hiding a Soul's Radiance is a hard task, not because of the light Soul straining in sustaining it, but rather, the deep understanding and concentration related in performing such a skill. As with all things though, a Soul that practices on something enough, will turn even the most arduous skills into second thought. If a soul is overwhelmingly powerful, and left uncovered, anyone would be able to feel it, and the Radiance even acts sort of like a large beacon to all demons. Souls that also don't effectively restrict the force of their Radiance can also leave behind trails of essence, which can be tracked down by others who are able to, such as the method with Demons, who's mostly crazed and violent minds have no knowing of how to use such a skill to cover their tainted Radiance.
Every piece of assimilated equipment or weapon is largely a conjoined with the Soul, and will grow stronger and acquire more abilities as the Soul grows and doesn't have to follow the same abilities of the Soul. Along with that, the stronger the Radiance of the Soul, the more resilient that being is to another Soul's effects or abilities, and also become more able to withstand more damage to their Magical body.
One who's Soul is strained too much, eventually exhausts the Soul; too much exhaustion can lead to damage, that is recoverable, if it doesn't go beyond the point of stability. Their bodies will seem to "dust away" as small portions of their physical body can't be sustained anymore by their Soul, the term is used because small sandy or "dusty" particles of the body fall off. Especially large wounds may even causing their Soul to leak out their "Essence" from the wounds until healed up, the stronger the soul, the quicker the process in mending of wounds. (What leaks out, is all up to the Person in charge of the character, but please make up something that fits the character.) If and when the damage builds up and goes past that point, where the Soul itself can no longer bear the stress, the term called "Soul Fracture" is what takes place.
A "Soul Fracture" is basically the death of an Awakened Soul, as their very being is demolished under the pressure and stress on their Soul, with all of the magic used up shattering into nothingness. (More will be added as we go along.)
The Prominent Realms:
There are three major realms so far in the RP, but more can be implemented later if reasoned well;
The Realm of Mortals and it's joint mirror, the Spirit Territory:
The Plane of Erro:
The Expanse of Demons:
*Information on how Souls traverse the world, and of how a Soul becomes able to*
Simply this; a soul's mortal vessel can either die, or be "magical" enough to be able to enter the rift to the Realm of Erro; basically a large plane full of concentrated magic that is detrimental to mortals. This magic existing in the fabric of this Realm is wild and powerful; acting as the reason why a mortal "shell" would be immediately obliterated, crushing the soul held within upon entering, as such, a person would need a spiritual or magically in tuned one to prevent such a demise.
Method 1: When a human dies, their soul is released back to the Spiritual side, a realm intertwined, with that of the Mortal realm, waiting to be reborn. This is when a demon is able to consume that soul, or when a Soul Harvester can lead it through it's reincarnation journey safely.
However if the Soul in interest by a Harvester is too corrupted; they take the soul and purge it, turning the result into the being that is able to transverse the realms without taking too much damage. Maybe there is a dying wish that must be fulfilled or something, and that's entirely up to the player.
Method 2: On the other hand; if a being's soul is "radiant" enough, or has a magical influence that is worthy of taking notice, a Soul Harvester may be able to communicate with them and attempt to recruit them into the organization.
This however needs to be accomplished through a process that basically destroys your mortal body. You can think of it as simple "death", or shedding of a burdensome shell.
In both ways, a Soul Harvester opens a Rift into Erro, taking the Soul there, where, on contact; the Soul will be wrapped in the wild magic that takes the form of the current owner of the Soul.
Those are the two main ways a person is able to enter into Erro, the plane in between that of the Mortal and Demons, as this new body is able to transverse between both worlds, a requirement from the society.
The outcome of the first method is dubbed, "Lost Souls" the second is called "Wandering Souls."
*Below is are instructions on how to enter the Mortal Realm and Closing of Rips*
The entrances are "Rips" in the fabric of realms, to any location you desired in the Mortal Realm and back, but become unusable when there is a demon or other corrupted soul residing nearby. The rips that are allowed to open near demons are extremely dangerous and taught to very few individuals, as if the user is somehow killed before closing a rip, demons may be able to use it as a gateway directly to their realm, allowing them to swarm into the Mortal Realm. To open up a Rip, a Soul undergoes a large amount of Soul Straining, as well as when closing one, unless they are well practiced in the art. A rip remains indefinitely opened unless closed by the user or another Awakened soul. A mythical chant, or even a magical key can used to make one, as long as it fulfilled the requirements stated above. (I'm going to let users be creative in the ways they open and close these Rips, as there are tons of ways to do either, but keep in mind, if it doesn't fit all of the requirements from above, it won't allow work.)
Opening or closing a Rip in Erro, causes much more strain than in the Mortal Realm, as the wild magic in the air causes a lot of interference with the opening and closing process, leading to more of an exertion to make the Rip stable.
Technology: Certain parts of the organization is advanced compared to the inhabitants of the mortal realm, able to use their souls to perform tasks normally would be impossible. All of this technology is powered either by a person's Soul, or objects that are imbued with a certain amount of that energy, much like a battery. Those objects are usually in the form of crystalline objects that shine in many different colors based on the soul that charged it. Feel free to use your imagination in creating technology, I'll tell you if it's too much.
"Magic": Is largely based on the user's soul, and is stronger based on how much strain a soul can take and recover. Each soul has a certain affinity to types of things, but through intense effort, one may be able to acquire a new skill or ability, even of another element. Souls can perform magic by releasing it's "Essence" resulting in ranging degrees of straining on the Soul, allowing the user to manipulate released essence into forms and arts of magic. Much like the technology developed in Erro, objects could be filled with the essence of certain souls and even special abilities, to be used by those unable to wield magic normally.
Basic Soul Knowledge: A Soul grows in power as it absorbs others(only through cursed equipment or weapons) or when it is strained through use, recovering from the strain gradually stronger and quicker afterwards. Essentially, a Soul is like an expandable mana pool, or vessel, capable of releasing energy and performing all types of magic, though most easily with attuned elements, and most difficultly with the opposing one. A Soul's energy is commonly called "Soul Essence" and each user may have differing types of this manifestation. A Soul's Radiance however, is the force and shape of it's presence and strength, along with the elemental attunement that the Soul is most aligned to. While abilities originate, unlock, and are kept in a Soul's Radiance, the essence released is essential in bringing that ability into forms of magic.
There are many questions as to where these things come from, but it is confirmed that when "God" had created the human race, the souls are reused and returned back to earth once "released" in death. A normal human can't be reborn or recreated with a Soul too large, so the resulting is an added characteristic of these "released" Souls wandering among the Mortal Realm. In many ways, this released inner energy acts like a cell, splitting off into two or more parts when it reaches a certain point of age, rationalizing the increasing numbers of humans from the set amount of souls. This is because, the older the soul is, the stronger it becomes, as they are intertwined with a creature's emotions, directly feeding off those traces.
Basic Knowledge of Erro: The plane is made up of entirely condensed wild magic, and thus, would instantly kill beings that lack magic, i.e. Mortals. The sheer size of the plane is calculable, and many have tried to get to the end but simply never return for centuries. Time works differently in Erro than in the Mortal Realm because of the magic, in an overall slower pace.
The magic gave birth to many mythical creatures in the Realm, mostly recreated from those that used to Exist in the Realm of Mortals. (Feel free to make some up to.) In it, exists many strange and new Biomes as well, (Feel free to make them up as well, though, this place is different than the Expanse of Demons, so none of that crazy shit.) as a result of the magic, much like the creatures.
*More Information on Magic*
When the creator, "God" created his Gates of Suffering, he needed a place to carry the large holy monument. He knew if it was placed in the The Mortal Realm, the uncentered magic that layered there would be able to bear the Gates, but wouldn't be enough save his beloved creations. The magic of the Gate is too great for mortal bodies to tolerate, but needed to be put before the Demon's realm in order to halt their advances on his poor Mortals. He resolved with only had one option, as the demon's expanse is right beside the Mortal's.
He determined to save them, opened a pocket, out of the magic within himself and of the Mortal Realm, draining the mortals of most of its magic to place into this pocket of pure concentrated wild magic and forcefully placing it in between The realm of the Mortals and the Expanse of the Demons. This plane was named "Erro", the vast realm that contains a large portion of the Mortal Realm's magic as well as the last of this "God's" magic. This is reason why some humans may have a insanely rare chance of being born mystical, and have the ability to use magic in the Mortal plane, without first being awakened or dying. These particular souls, when in their phase of rebirth catch some of this highly dissipated energy, somehow lucky enough to fall through a gathering of magic large enough to absorb into their soul this mostly lost power.
These beings are damned souls commonly originating the Realm of Hell, and take many forms, from the devilishly charming or the hideous beast of untold scarring. They are usually categorized off of classifications of their Soul's strength, rising from G-Class to all the way to the A-Class demons, and of their alignment of Sin.
Most people know of the Seven Deadly Sins, but I'll list them for anyone who doesn't know:
Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Envy, and Pride.
Each type of Sin's demons do different things, but I'll elaborate as the plot unfolds.
Though demons and spirits aren't strictly from Hell and the ideas of Christianity, as there are other "Gods" out there that have either tried making their mark on the Mortal Realm, or created a Realm nearby of their own.
So feel free to add Shinto Demons or Other Eastern Demon types.
As beings who inherently feel negative emotions, and live off of their energy;
Demons are drawn to centers of emotional turmoil, one example is in a nervous breakdown over grief, as the soul is being corrupted by the sheer strength of their holder's own negative emotions. If it is great enough, this single event could open a gap directly into the Mortal Realm, allowing it to harvest these souls forcefully.
As Stated beforehand:
*The Branches and Their Cities, along with information regarding the place where you get missions, titles/ ranks specifics, and how to obtain Currency.*
The Four Branches of the Apocalypse(Redemption):
As you may feel free to have whatever power you want, as long as it isn't overpowered, because we will all start out weak, and escalate as we move through the RP, these are the 4 types of *general* mindsets, lead by their respectable leaders(Please note that this will change as the RP moves along);
Silence of Death: The agents of the shadows, the followers of the darkness. They are souls that know loneliness and the lament of death; that have dwelled in it for countless years in their lives. Souls that fall under this category, often find themselves picking off demons without alarming any others, before quickly moving onto the rest, quietly, and mercilessly. They hold no emotions, rather are taught to suppress them, as these agents must cloud their thoughts from negative ones, or it will needlessly attract demons. They are the eyes of the four branches and keep watch upon the movements of the demons along the realms. These agents usually always end up dead or lost, as they are often sent to dispatch of the most dangerous Demons upfront, or deep within their lines.
Fury of War: Either experiencing the loss of someone dear or the sheer experience of something so tragic, it causes an unquenchable fury within their minds and hearts towards the "sins", these are the agents of War. They are commonly the first in the charge to fight, and the ones who's rage causes them to fight to the very end in a demonic blood lust, in a battle of vengeance towards the Demon race. Their ire even goes as far as ignoring even the most fatal wounds just to end the last demon on the battlefield, if not stopped. It's the most prominent thing they care about, the death and the vicious harvesting of the monster's souls to make themselves stronger to do it all over again in a voracious cycle. Though they aren't always in this rage or may have other motives besides simply the slaughter of demons, some even acting quite normal outside of the battlefield.
Hunger of Famine: They are the agents who's pride lays in extreme attrition and endurance, no matter how difficult a situation may turn out to be, they will finish their job if they are able. They live to fight the demons, usually of a reason of their own, and are known to display the most amazing of self sacrifices to ensure that the demons are weakened. If they are ever caught alive, they refuse torture and have insurmountable obstinance, taught to never leak out information or secrets of the society no matter the cost. They personally overlook the Gate of Suffering, and fix any damage that is done to it, or try to create magic that will enforce the magic barriers. Persons who fit this character often find themselves among the ranks with War, aiding in leading the charge or with agents of Death in suicide missions.
Blight of Pestilence: What's left, these Souls finish off, picking off, whether chasing down retreating demons or laying out plans to sabotage, whatever it takes to slow down their march. These agents also have the special task of being the main branch that handles the recruitment of Wandering Souls, frequently out in the Mortal world choosing out new members or saving souls from the demons, and then seeing to the safety in their cycle. They are mainly acting as exorcists, able to speak magical chants or perform special procedures that are able to break or subdue the very fabric of a demon, then plucking the soul themselves or letting another member concluding the task. These exorcists develop special poisons or magics that will harm or weaken the types of demons, and help the Death Harvesters perform new research after the discovery of a new breed.
*Take Note, I have allowed members to create their own viewing of the cities, but please follow these basic guidelines*
Each Branch has their own separate city, and Headquarters where Souls can pick up missions, and based on their Soul's Radiance, they can go about it on their own or are assigned a squad.
While Souls can pick up missions in their own city's "Bulletin Board", The Main Headquarters building; "Redemption of Sin" is where agents can pick up the most dangerous of these missions and tasks at the return of potentially higher rewards. This Main building's actual location is completely unknown save a few, and the only ways to enter it are certain portals in each of the city's Head department.
All of the cities are very technologically advanced, as magic has helped in that aspect, but carrying any unauthorized piece of technology out into the Mortal realm is a crime and will be dealt with as so. These cities reside in separate Biomes as well, leading each to have their own unique characteristics and culture within them.
The further out a being drifts from the cities, the less the reach of technology is, as the creatures out in Erro are quite magical and very dangerous, often being a pester to the cities themselves.
There are Ranks or Stages in each section, and the higher the position and development of one's Soul, the more respect is needed from the lower ones. The most proven souls are able to requisition powerful tools or equipment from the Headquarters for their mission or task, while lower ones will have to acquire a permit in order to do so.
All branches follow these titles;
Unrealized Soul: The new kindled souls that have neither weapon or unlocked ability.
Realized Soul: Ones who recently had both weapon and their soul’s inner ability awakened, but yet to know how to use their ability, often usually, lacking the combat experience to effectively kill Demons or knowledge to track them down.
Awakening Soul: These are People who have gained a basic use for their soul are trying to learn more about their powers and of the weaknesses of the types of demons, usually educated by the higher ranking members of the society. They prominently go about finishing small tasks around their cities, and are usually lead around by a mentor, or others that are Awakening as well.
Individuals who were able to survive their first "true", usually gruesome, organized encounter against the Demons or Harvesting the Corrupted Soul of a particularly powerful Demon on their own with proof, and show a promising potential in their development; gain this title among the Organization.
Enduring Soul: Proven undoubtedly battle after battle, mission after mission, that they can get the job done, and both come back alive as well. They are the very least rank requirement of being tasked as the instructors, mentors, or squad leaders for the lower ranks, acting as guidance for the newer Kindled Souls. They are usually given the tasks reserved for only those with proven experience, as this rank also stands as a minimum for important roles among the cities and RoS. At this rank, an agent can receive special training in the methods of removal of Soul/Cursed equipment or weapons, with the extraction of either being more difficult the longer of time they have been worked into one's Soul.
Detached Soul: A Soul who's reached a point of where they've breached the limits of boundary, leaving a strong sense of connection with their minds and Soul, as both seem to be working together, instead of one questioning the other on what must be done. A deep self-struggle must be surmounted within themselves, as someone who still clings onto their weaknesses will never hope to understand how to use their Soul.
A being's Soul truly reveals, only to themselves, what they are and of their internal weaknesses, and it is only up to them to choose to change that. These Souls are not limited to good or bad, but rather, these beings must understand their weaknesses and flaws, accepting that they must choose to learn how to deal or solve them to unlock their full potential.
Some Enduring Souls go through centuries, sometimes reaching a point where they're equal in strength with these Souls, still not working in their full potential, however, if one doesn't go through the "Detachment" they can not receive rank or status of Soul Reaper.
At least two of these measurements must qualify for the Soul at hand, only then are they bestowed with this rank, giving them immense responsibility for their also tremendous influence. Though immensely rare, a being who fits under all three of those criteria; should be taken with complete and extreme caution, as even with a lazy flick of their finger, these Souls are capable of effortlessly killing even High Enduring Souls.
These three requirements are as follows;
1) Astonishingly powerful Detached Souls, who've proven their paramount strength on more than one occasion.
2) Having done something noteworthy of legend in their service.
3) Really ancient souls that have endured the continuous strife of their task against Demons, proving their devotions.
These beings are trusted to stand among the leaders of the Branches and oversee development, partaking in the grand decision making alongside them. Some of these Soul Reapers are even capable of going head to head with the leaders themselves, though at very heavy cost. Seldom are they seen, even back at the RoS structure, as they are usually tasked with the most arduous and critical duties. Such an event is so rare, that whenever a Soul qualifies, there is a huge Holiday and celebration in their honor, this is called "A Day of Promise."
*Look under these Hiders for Information on the Operations Center and Currency of Erro*
In Erro, as a Soul Harvests "Corrupted Souls" out of Demon during a mission or whatnot, (In whatever method you choose, feel free to be creative) they store it within an empty "pocket" in their Soul, keeping it until they bring it back to Redemption of Sin Mission department. This serves as both proof of success and a show of skill during a mission, allowing the RoS to properly handle experience and wages. These Corrupted Souls are then tallied up, rated based on their strength, and then a "Value" is added to a Soul's Identity, which in turn could be used to buy things in Erro.
The Operations(Reporting) Center, which was located at the ground floor, of the expansive RoS structure. Luckily, the "Bulletin Board" was located right in the same room, as to make it convenient for the agents.
There are large double doors(20 ft in length, 6ft in width for each door.) indicating the entrance, that are lined with dull but intricate carvings. They are unlocked by focusing one's Soul Radiance on the Building, essentially feeding the double doors with your Soul Essence so it can identify you as an agent and allow you entrance. The doors usually remain open until the amount of magic fed wears off over some time.
The first step in, one would notice that the whole room was round like a circle, the walls rising high up to the white marble roof which had another spherical opening at the top, aligning with the object at the center of the room.
The room itself was split into two sides; at one side, there were many counters built into the walls, with a Guardian waiting there, for someone to report the details of the mission. Usually these reports can be short, with either "Success" or "Failure" being the most basic things to report, as the cleaning crew would deal with the finer lines. At the other side there was a long messaging board, with many fliers and posts, acting as a short mission summary, the outright pay, and the advised Rank of the mission. If someone picks a task out of their league, the Redemption of Sin will assign them one or more members from the pool of "Ready" Souls, to help balance out the difficulty of the task. This though, will affect the pay, which will be divided in however the agreement between the individuals involved is decided on.
In the center of the room is a large slightly raised platform, with a glowing symbol at the center. It acted like a type of magical lift, that lead to the second floor, where one would take such a posting and ask for permission or request special tools and items for their mission. This second floor is also home to the higher ranked missions, those types only permitted to those who's authorized to perform.
More than one character is allowed, but only if you show that you're active and can handle RPing as more than one, as I know how much hard work it is to have multiple characters. *For any additional information, check the tabs above or ask me via pm or post, either is fine*
Name: (Or Alias.)
Gender: (Male, female, or both, I don't judge.)
Race: (Whether you're a human or not, your soul is responsible for that, maybe a result of your Soul's ability.)
Age: (Appearance and Actual Please.)
Appearance: (Picture or description is fine with me.)
Soul Branch: (One of ones listed above.)
Soul/Cursed weapon: (Soul Weapons are forged from your soul, and you're innately able to use it efficiently, though not yet expertly yet. A Cursed one though, is one acquired from a Demon, or from another Wandering Soul, and is much harder to use and control, but combines both Souls together. The durability and strength of these weapons, will progress as the Soul does too, and will shatter once the soul is unable to handle their existence anymore. These weapons can be summoned quickly, users have the option to increasing the speed of the summoning, but with a stronger strain on the soul. A strong soul can be able to push an ability from either on of these weapons, or maybe a change of form, but as stated beforehand, cursed ones will have a more strenuous time.) ((Pictures/Description)) *Another thing to note, is weapon summoning can be different for each user, feel free to go wild.*
Cursed Equipment: (Most will not start out with this, unless this is their "weapon" as this is equipment gained from special Demons, usually a unique trait of the being it is assimilated from. Each piece will also grow stronger and durable as the owner's soul grows, and will gain new types of abilities as well. As with the weapon, these will shatter when the Soul is unable to bear bringing forth the existence of these items.) ((Pictures/Description))
*As aforementioned, these equipments can be summoned differently per user, just like the weapon summoning.*
((Both Equipment and Weapons are stored within one's soul, practically fused with the Soul itself, and the removal of them is excessively painful and straining. Typically, the removal process leaves the Soul nearly fractured afterwards.))
Soul Radiance: (Basic description of what you can do with your soul and it's power, also add a basic element you are first attuned with. This is a slight test of your writing ability! Note: Soul Radiance is different from Soul Essence, in that Essence is the usage of the energy from a Soul, while Soul Radiance indicates the force and shape of the presence and strength, along with the elemental attunement of a Soul. Radiance is basically where one unlocks and stores their abilities, while the essence (energy) released from the Soul is necessary in bringing them into forms of magic.)
Personality: (A basic character description, but feel free to impress me!)
History: (Why you are where you are, and if you died, How? This portion is also a large test of writing skill, so good luck!)
Those who have awakened their soul and willingly, without any demonic corruption, deviated away from the society, knowingly hindering the organizations efforts and movements for another gain. Most of these Forsaken Souls choose to leave to indulge in their desires or sins, as over bearing these pleasures is forbidden as an agent of the Redemption of Sin This is a severe crime that could lead to the sentence of "Soul Extraction" and immediate dispatchment of specialized squads to hunt these beings down, lest they aid the ranks of the Demons. This is only one way of redeeming for a crime this severe, and though the Leader's word of the specific branch is the final law in their dominance, they must try and respect the ruling of the majority.
A Soul who isn't able to resist the taint of the demons, usually joining the forsaken ones as their thoughts are being clouded by a demon's, but this corruption can be mended and healed, if captured and caught. The process depends on the severity of corruption, some cases, taking centuries to revert back to their original beings. A specialized squad is sent out at the report of these Souls, but unlike forsaken Souls, their main goal is to apprehend for Soul Purging. Though still a being that has committed a crime of letting the Demonic forces change their minds, there is only one way one can repent, as with Forsaken Souls.
1. My word is law, but I'm not going to turn down a deaf ear to concerns or reason. I'm pretty lenient to things that people create or think up, just talk to me about it, and I'll try my best to make it allowed.
2. Follow basic Site Rules.
3. Standard Casual Roleplay Rules, but I expect a little higher quality around here. (But if you're new, just ask me.)
4. Don't post OOC things in the IC, and vise-verse, or post on the IC without an accepted character.
5. Respect all members and GMs, please.
6. Any post arguments will be settled with me or another GM.
7. If you don't give me a reason as to a lack of posting, assume I'm going to puppet your character, sorry.
Though this doesn't mean that I will not accept Antagonists or Forsaken Souls, so feel free to make one of your own! If you have a story or plot revolving around him/her, PM and we can start something fun. :3
This RP isn’t tied down to just demons though, and there can be inclusion of other magical creatures or spirits as well, as the world and its inhabitants were once all able to wield magic. But that’s another part of the story that’s a bit of a spoiler.
And Jeez, so much "Soul" talk... I'm glad I'm done with that portion though;
If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or PM, thank you for your time!
