Welcome to the OOC of Ruinous Azkaban. Please make yourself comfortable while I explain the concept to you.
Ruinous Azkaban is above all an atmospheric exploration roleplay set in the dark ruin of the infamous wizarding prison, after it was abandoned just after the events of Canon. You are to take the role of an explorer of these ruins from all possible walks of life, from the haughtiest Pureblood to the most adventurous of Squibs. It will all start in the old prison's sole apparating and portkey area in the old Ministry Visitor Wards, a seldom used area that once permitted both Aurors, officials and the past Ministers themselves to inspect and sometimes interrogate the prisoners. This will be your starting point, your campground, where you will be able to start your exploration or to either flee to St. Mungo's, go back to your home to sleep or again shop and refresh yourself all the way to Diagon Alley if you need supplies or sustenance.
The Dementors have gone, the frost generated by them starting to thaw, but they were not the only dark creature claiming domain on the dark prison, and so you must be careful in your exploration. Pace yourself, get to know your fellow explorers and try to better yourself in your four major Attributes, designed after each Hogwarts Houses: Courage will help you fight your fear and overcome hopelessness. Diligence will help you go on long after you are fatigued and will permit you to perform often dull but necessary tasks. Cunning will help you find paths where none would be able to be found, bypassing traps and finding new and creative ways of doing things. Finally, Intelligence will help you in your time of need, making you understand your environment and decipher otherwise undecipherable clues. You will start with each but one of these Attributes at the value of one, the last, of your choosing, being of a value of five to represent your strength or, if from Hogwarts, your House.
Now, we will work with units of times of approximately one hour each, with each action taking an arbitrary and sensible number of units to be completed. During that time you may do whatever you want, as long as it is conductive to your current goal or trial, and as long as you follow the posting order. I will do my best to make the time required clear to you to make sure you know what you pull your character into, however. Of course, the more effort and the more people involved, the better! Teamwork and creativity are the key, never forget that!
The format of each post should always be as follow, as I will take the role of the Narrator and will need all the help I could get! Each post should have these as a header, it could be in any format as you want as long as it's there:
(Name of your character)
Now that it's out of the way, let's go on to the simple rules as well as the Character Sheets, shall we?
- Please follow the Casual standards, that is at least a good chapter of at least five complete sentences, some content and basic spelling and grammar.
- That bring me to my second point: Please use you Spellchecker!
- Be polite to each other in the OOC, and don't bring the OOC chatting in the IC, please!
- Be aware that your character could die if they are not careful or prepared enough, so some caution is always needed!
- Constructive criticisms are okay to all, 'flaming' is not! Goes hand in hand with my third point.
- What I say, goes.
- Have fun!
Now for the long awaited CS:
Appearance: (Use at least a short description, and not only an image, please!)
Wand: (None if Squib, gain six Non-Magical Talents instead of three, and cannot have magical talents.
Patronus (if any):
Animagus (if any):
Magical Talents (if any, cannot have more than three, including Patroni and Animagi.):
Non Magical Talents: (Three for magical folks, six for Squibs)
That done, post the result below and wait for both my approval (which will be easy to obtain as long as you make a good effort) and for enough people to be accepted for me to do the IC thread (that is, four).
