I feel so stupid, this is where the thread should actually be posted :/ As it is more of just a general idea than a roleplay interest Check. So, I shall now post what I currently have.
(I think both can be commented on, I just think this is a better place to attract others)
I'm a mega scifi creature-feature horror movie fangeek, and I mean major (Although I like the newer creature-features, sadly not your black and white costume films). And I recently attempted to join a roleplay similar to this idea, while I was in Fantasy/Medieval geekmode (I'm pretty widespread, as you can see). I was really interested in this genre, and surprised that I hadn't attempted to join or create one of these in the past.
What I am proposing is, as you can see, a Science-Fiction Creature/Alien Survival roleplay, similar to the movies I watch, but with a chance of everyone dying. I say this because, well, a lot of people would be like 'meeeeeh, everyone would live or the important people would and then it was over.' I am actually going to have the chance that important characters die, (And even what some would call "main actors" die). More than likely, I will play a character, but I won't make my character important to the surviving aspect (a.k.a. they won't be needed to survive).
Now, if I have peaked your curiosity, you may want to know the kicker; I have not came up with said creature/alien, setting, place, or time of the roleplay. What I will first need are 2 Co-GM's who are knowledgeable in this creature-feature genre, preferably they have Skype. If they have great ideas, I'll listen. If they want to be lazy with any of it, that's fine. I can be given any kind of idea and create a story out of it within minutes. Stories and characters are my strong points. Have a limited amount of time for completion? Oh, well, I just completed it. What these Co-GM's will mostly be doing is being a group that we can all bounce ideas off of, and maybe do some of the hard work. No just kidding, but seriously, we have to think about things. Like an example being are we doing combat by chances like dice rolls, or D&D style, or just realistic means?
Oh and, if anyone is interested, but not interested in being a Co-GM, go ahead and shout, it'll give me more reason to kick the OOC into gear. And don't think by not being a Co-GM you don't have a say. I can create any idea given to me into a reality, and a very epic adventure. And depending on how much story wants to be told, I can generally get it out within half a day.
So, all in all, if you have some sort of idea or interest on this, here's a generalization of what I have in mind for this roleplay. Depending on the time and/or setting of this roleplay, I will have a group of people start out, maximum being 15, minimum being 7. They will "continue on," or "venture into" the designated reasoning of the roleplay (What the characters will be doing, why they are there, etc.), and I will have the creature, or creatures, emerge, slowly, and most likely quietly, until the decision is made that it can take on the rest. This does not mean the first two or three interactions between player and creature means death. Oh yeah, sure, you can go ahead and survive from it. You'd just be letting it learn more about its prey. That's another thing I will be integrating, a learning aspect. It, or they, do not know humans, but eventually, it'll know how to murder, or eat them.
Notes: This will be 18+. This may be "Rated R." Character Romance will neither be discouraged or encouraged. Military, Civilian, V.I.P.'s, and civilian workers will be "classes," to name a few. (Classes are not restrictions, they are jobs/careers). There is a chance for your characters to die here, and players will have the choice of whether they wish to die at a certain time (Excludes certain death scenarios).
First: "Civilian Settlers"
The group is on a civilian mission to transport thousands of people to a new planet. The technology is advanced, but they are stuck with cryotubes, something of an era of tech similar to Alien (imdb). Generally, it will be like that. A creature, or creatures (which I have not came up with as of yet), gets on board the ship, and things start to happen (insert cliche creature intro here). My idea will continue, with the creatures still aboard and the ship actually crash lands on the planet, but not devastatingly. When the ship actually crashes, however, this is the start of a new roleplay idea I had with the original.
So in the first portion, the group has to fight off and survive against the creatures. In the second portion, the players work together with more players "awoken from cryosleep," and then eventually defeat them. However, only one person in the whole roleplay, which is in the original group, will have a firearm, and it will only be a pistol. I'm going to let people who sign up have the option of choosing that character.
"Cabin in the Woods" style
Proposal: Cabin in the Woods style RP, with two distinct groups. The players RPing the sacrifices, and the GMs and Co-CMs RPing the organization.
Blue Gender style
A newly settled planet, small city, the rest of the planet is uninhabitable due to the rest of the planet being covered in a jungle-type forest, infested with a deadly disease that is currently incurable. The city is inhabited by average workers, constructing and expanding the city. Families, schools, companies, etc. But the major funder of the whole city settlement is (insert company name here), which does creature experiments right in the city. One day, during an experiment, the machines malfunction, and there is an explosion. Mutated creatures break free, killing everyone inside the facility, and start attacking the city. The time of the roleplay will be after a few weeks, making the city infested, and the count of over a billion people reduced to a few thousand. Some creatures large and small (Creatures will be created if this idea is the victor of the voting process, but more than likely, it will have the creatures from the anime, 'Blue Gender' Unfortunately, the only thing similar to the soldier mechs in Blue Gender that we will have... are construction mechs, similar to the mechs in Alien/s), they will be very over powered, with limited weak points. They have over run all major parts of the town, and destroyed several structures. Space ports, hospitals, anything that a hot spot is either destroyed or over run. There is no military force, only a light police force. This roleplay would be gorey and deep into realism of killing of creatures similar to Blue Gender.
Creature Idea 1
Two creatures. They are both very hostile alien creatures from an uninhabitable planet, these two species are natural enemies to each other. They have both been experimented on as well. This changes the roleplays lore slightly. Required for space ideas. They are being hauled (secretly) inside of secure cargo holds. At a sudden event, something hits and rocks the ship, causing the cargo to rattle and fall over, breaking the capsules that held the creatures, open. The creatures both have the ability to spawn smaller creatures similar to their own species. The more they eat, the more they can spawn. (It requires the host has enough nutrition, as the spawning takes from their health, and it is like a birth, they do not just detach) The smaller creatures can eventually grow into subspecies of their host. Not as strong, but just as deadly.
The first resembles the Bioraptor from the Chronicles of Riddick. I'm leaving the rest of their abilities alone, because they are perfect as is.
The second creature is one from the movie 'Sector Seven', We'll call it the Sector 7 Creature, because, I haven't found a name yet. Now, it's korean, so I expect majority of people here have never seen it, or heard of it. These creatures are menacing, and they learn. They keep learning. They are no where near stupid after spending an hour with them. I'll have to rewatch the movie to find out all of their abilities (Which I will do right after I post this, prepare for an update). But from what I remember is that they can be in large numbers, but they excel at a group of humans within less than a few, even if they have powerful weapons. They have extremely sharp teeth, I think saying razor would be a heavy understatement. They are fast, but can't glide like Bioraptors, but they can climb on walls and jump, and not as easy to kill, or fool. They can also extend something of a tongue as far up to ...13 feet? which grabs on and is as strong, if not stronger, than an above average human arm.
These can be diced up, scattered, altered, or singled out, if by request and vote.
Robots, murdering, savage robots everywhere
It's an alien, and a virus, all at the same time. It takes control of any electronic system. And if it is a computer, or has a motherboard, it can multiply. It can alter any programming of a device with a motherboard and create machines and robots. Eventually it will be able to take organic creatures and turn them into somewhat "cyborgs" without individual personalities. Just more efficient killing machines. However, in it's first stages, the movement of these machines will be limited, as they will start as wired until the virus learns more about the technology at hand, and makes them wireless.
Requirements: Enclosed area (No cities or places outside), High technology area (No ordinary homes, warehouses, etc. Examples are Naval ships, space ships, machine shops, factories)
Co-GM's (2 is not a limit, but I don't see a need or reason to go over 2)
Idea titles do not mean roleplay titles)
Now, ideas I post, are merely summaries of the whole idea, not a full story or lore. If someone would like me to write out an entire lore, said person should request it, and have another also request it.
Anyone, not just Co-GM's can post ideas, and I will list them.
Once we have enough people who wish to join, I will have a vote on which story should be used.
Current Participants (Those entered in this category are for players. Players that will play in the first sequence of the roleplay, if there are two sequences)
*Note: Not being entered in this category does not make you ineligible for First Sequence. Players who join before the vote is started will become Current Participants.
*Note: The max amount of players for a First Sequence are determined by the story idea chosen.
Extra Participants (For those who entered after the voting date)
*Note: Being an extra does not make you ineligible to join a roleplay in progress. Extras may be given special missions and/or classes to enter a roleplay in progress.
