Reid headed towards the back of the school as soon as the last lesson ended, the opposite way to everyone else, fighting against the flow of students. He slipped in between two buildings, and then stopped to lean against the dirty, smoke stained brick wall. The ground had been turned to mud by the heavy rain that was pouring down, and despite taking shelter underneath the lip of the roof, Reid's hair was still wet and disheveled.
He stared at the opposite wall in silence, pulling a cigarette and his lighter out of his pocket. He flicked the lighter open, holding the flame to the end of the cigarette, shading it from the wind and rain with a cupped hand. It took him a while to light it, but once it was lit, the orange tip glowed brightly in the damp mist, the only give away to where he was, his dark clothes otherwise making him blend into the surroundings. He took a long drag on his cigarette , pausing before he breathed out and watched the grey smoke spiral away into the air.
He'd found an anonymous note addressed to him that morning, which had simply told him to meet whoever it was at the end of school where he usually hung out during the day. He'd almost ignored it, but his natural curiosity had gotten the better of him. He realized it was perhaps a little dangerous to be hidden out of sight when someone was coming to meet him - he knew of more than one person who wouldn't mind if he got into harms way, but he figured he could handle himself in a fight, if it came to that.
He stiffened when he saw movement at the end of the narrow passage between the two buildings, trying to make out who the slim silhouette might be.
