Greetings and salutations, to whomever may be reading this. Unsurprisingly, as my username dictates, I'm Lorien077. You can find me under that username on a variety of websites, including Deviantart and Tumblr. But not youtube, someone else took that username. Oh well.
Anyway moving right on to the brass tacks. Over the past few years I've attempted to introduce myself to online roleplaying. In real life I'm a big fan of pen and paper games, including Dungeons and Dragons, Shadowrun, World of Darkness (have played both as a Vampire and a normal human, no Werewolves or Changelings yet though) Heroes system, and the Star Wars pen and paper game. RP comes first for me in those, and I have a large number and wide variety of characters to offer. Unfortunately I found out hard way that many online forums are limited in style they accept, and clique-ish. After some rather negative experiences I more or less quit.
But an IRL friend pointed out this forum, and it looks far more welcoming. The first Fundamental Rule really caught my attention. So I will endeavor to be Fonz like and give this whole online RPing thing another go!
Things Lorien077 is rather fond of (in the context of RPs):
Fantasy (any time period), Steampunk, Sci-fi, Super Hero sorts of things (particularly X-Men), original characters, and strong story-lines. I'd prefer Intermediate RPs (posts are about a few paragraphs, some attention payed to keeping a good pace and character development)
Things Lorien077 is less than enthusiastic about (also in the context of RPs):
Realistic historical stories, slice of life, heavy focus on romance, a lack of supernatural or sci-fi elements in some form. Also I don't have much interest in Speed RPs (posts that are only a few lines) or very advanced RPs (posts that regularly push five paragraphs)
I don't mind a good romance at all within the context of a story, in fact I'm a sucker for a strong one, but if that is your primary objective I don't think I'll be a good RP partner for you. Additionally please don't expect anything 'mature' from me. While it is against forum rules I feel the need to caution that anything explicit makes me exceptionally uncomfortable.
My current agenda is to approach RPing again with caution, and to primarily make some new internet pals.
Bravo good sir/madam/agendered individual for making it to the end of this post! I'd be pleased as punch to answer any questions or receive any helpful hints.
