The town on Nymh. It was a fairly large town, as far as towns went, supporting itself with its fields of crops irrigated by the fresh, cold river water that ran from the mountains that surrounded them, reaching high up into the sky. There were many exits and entrances to Nymh, but only one main road in or out of the valley. Every other path was either a rough, winding and treacherous mountain paths or pitch dark labyrinth tunnels that wound through the the innards of the mountain range known as the Mountains of Nymh. Justin stood at attention, his back to the wall with his hands clasped behind his back and his sword sheathed strapped to the belt at his left hip, his eyes constantly scanning the room for any sign of danger.
Along with him thirteen other guards stood lining the walkway leading to Lord Atar, the man who dealt with the day to day running of the town. He was a fair man, though sometimes a little unrealistic when it came to the expectations had of his subjects. A lot of people, Justin being one of them, believed that he had been in power for far too long and was beginning to forget what it was like to struggle for things. Today was the Hearing Day, a day where Atar opened his doors to hear from his people, to take advice on things that may need attending to, and answering the many pleas for help that came his way. Some reasonable and with just reason, some not so much. It was nearing the end of the day, the sun was red on the mountain tops, casting long orange shadows onto the town nestled safely within their cradle.
Everyone was preparing to leave for the night, turn it in. There had not been a visitor for at least ten minutes now when Atar rose with a slight wave of his hand. "Close the doors." He said absently, indicating to the guards that they would be dismissed soon. Justin turned towards the door and moved towards it, pushing on the heavy wooden doors, pausing for a moment as he saw someone running towards them. Atar had not left yet. He was unsure what to do, but decided to wait. 'One more voice was always welcome'. At least that was what Atar had always said when he had first come into power.
