In March 5th, 1979, Voyager 1 begins flyby of Jupiter. The space probe sends back photographs of the Jupiter Gas Giant and it's moons, however, something else was captured in the still images, Large metallic objects of odd, almost man-made shapes. Once this was public, speculation and rumors spring forth. It was the Greatest Discovery in Mankind's history, as well as answering a lingering question. We are not Alone.
Discovering Intelligent Alien lifeforms had jump started the Space Race tenfold. As humanity worked towards to reach the stars and meet their interstellar neighbors. This also triggered a new Cold War by the 21st Century between the United States and China. By 2079, humanity had finally found it's key to the stars in the form of the Phase Drive. Around the same year, the aliens had finally arrived in mass. A fleet of hundreds of vessels of various designs had arrived in Earth's Orbit. At first, the aliens were welcomed with both extreme caution, and open arms. The leaders of the armada had explained that they are all that remains of interstellar empire spanning over dozens of systems, from the other side of the galaxy. A catastrophic civil war was sparked, lasting for over a century, the war took it's toll upon the worlds of the empire, one of the faction had devised a new weapon, a starkiller. Once deployed, it would trigger a miniature supernova that can consume an entire system. It's first deployment went terribly wrong, as the supernova engulfed the star system and beyond. When it it came to an end, the empire was in shambles, the worlds that remained fell into anarchy, or were conquered by their formerly weaker neighbors. So those that could, have fled, the refugee fleet used what power their ships had to jump across to the more remote parts of the galaxy, far from it's troubles, eventually leading to Sol.
In the first decades, relations with the Aliens had been mixed. While both the Aliens and Humanity had worked in mutual relationship, with the Alien's knowledge of their advanced Technology given to the human governments who would host alien settlements, jumping humanity forward centuries. However, Many were still suspecting sinister intentions of the visitors.
Despite the tensions, humanity continued on it's quest to reach the stars. And with further assistance with the refugees, have achieved feats unlike any in history, constructing the massive space colonies, and terraforming the worlds of the Sol System. Both man and xeno alike colonizing all corners of the system.
By the year 2200, over a hundred years after the aliens arrived. Tensions rose an all-time high as the UN Building was struck by a terrorist attack,the work of the Xeno Supremacists group known as Kelshar Dawn, with half of the System's leaders dead. This of course, lead to chaos and war as many of the nations within Sol attempted to fill in the void as their neighbors collapsed, sparking the First Solar War.
The war lasted over twenty years, with no defined alliance or side, It was a frenzy, chaotic. By the war's end, nations that were, were no more. Such as Earth, once the seat of power, had lost it's colonial holdings as most of it space colonies, and the moon had seceded, becoming their own sovereign entities, leaving Earth to a descend into chaos and ruin.
The year now is 2245, the Sol System remains in an delicate state. War and the threat of war loom over the system once again. As foes and rivals play a game of chess, out maneuvering the other in the chance to reign over as the Masters of Sol. The Sol Schism has begun.

Massive Spaceborne Superstructures of various shapes and designs that litter the Sol System. Built with the aide of the aliens technological knowledge. Space Colonies have their own ecosystem, and a breathable atmosphere capable to support millions. Many of these colonies broke away from their respective homeworlds to form their own sovereign nations or banded together to form said nations.
A new generation of Mechanized War machines first introduced in 2105 by the Earth-based Seraph Industries. The First Generation were humanoid in shape, and later models took bestial and more varied forms. By 2212, Most militaries in Sol possessed Armored Frames in some capacity, others more then some. They are versatile in function, as they greatly differ from walkers used by the military. They have enhanced reflexes and speed. Moving more like living beings then machines. Some as well had the ability to fight in multiple environments, from sea, ground, air and space.
Invented by 2079, the Phase Drive is an NTL(Nearer then Light) device that took mankind beyond Earth at last. While an improvement to previous methods, the Phase Drive can in no way, travel faster then light. Depending on distance, Phase jumps between locales can take up to a few hours, to days, to weeks.
