Usually the Goldenrod Magnet Trainstation
was full of bustling and boisterous individuals all attempting to travel to their final destination, wherever that may be. That is exactly why the eerie quiet that befell the monument worried the employees, as well as one of their few customers this evening. Bashy Grim, a young lady at the age of 16, was trying to get herself across the ocean and respond to the crisis allegedly happening on Route 10; the Pokemon Power Plant
. Infact she had only just received a second crisis call, one detailing of an incident that lay a lot closer to her current position. Bashy had previously attempted to enter the Goldenrod Radio Tower
after her father was attacked on duty. However it turned out that a 16 year old trainer with no experience, and a LVL 5 Abra
did not possess enough destructive power to even get past the front door. And so Bash reasoned that in order to right the wrongs in her city, she must first travel for a bit. That is what brought the brunette onto this train Saffron City bound, with the hope she could find strength for both her and her Abra. Sighing and lightly tapping to pane of the glass adjacent to her, Bashy could feel herself slowly drift into sleep as the train machinery roared itself to life.
"Hello, are you there? Hello...can you hear me? Ok, good. This is Prof. Elm. We have a bit of a situation at the Power Plant on Kanto Route 10.The refurbished and updated Power Plant is already facing a problem. The Elekids and Magnemite have been siphoning energy from the Power Plant and consuming it. The Magnemite acquired a negative electrical charge and began electrocuting the Power Plant employees. Several employees had to be rushed to the infirmary after a Magnemite attack.
Voltorb swarms have been clustering around circuit boards and cables and altering the flow of energy throughout Kanto. Daily black-outs have been interrupting the life and power supply of Kanto citizens. The power Saffron City has been down for 3 hours and the economy may fuck up if someone doesn't do something. Team Rocket via the Silph Corporation are stationed in Saffron. Could they be responsible?..."
The request seemed quite heartfelt and as the trainer remembered what was said, her mind gave in to the fatigue.
Goldenrod Magnet Train --------------- Saffron City
The darkness surrounding her vision was slightly hazy, allowing for small pockets of light to pierce the gloomy atmosphere. Bashy rubbed her eyes in order to focus them. Where was she? It seemed like a never ending stretch of mist and blackness. After a little searching, she eventually stumbled her eyes upon something curious; It looked like a brown rock submerged in a purple aura of some sort, all while floating in mid-air. Taking a few cautious steps towards the entity, Bashy heard a soft but authoritative voice ring out from inside her head.
"You wish to use me? Hmph."
Bashy was confused and slightly offended. The 'thing' had a tone of superiority about it and she did not like know-it-all's. The irony of this didn't occur to her as she began to take more confident strides towards the enigma. As soon as she had gotten within viewing range of the being, Bashy was forced to a halt by her own surprise. The detailed designs began to etch themselves into the previously brown blob, clothing formed and finally the owner of the voice was revealed. It was Abra, more specifically, HER Abra. Before she could open her mouth to say something, a bump in the real world sent Bashy flying out of the dimension she currently housed, and into the light poking through the window pane facing her. She realized it was a dream and said nothing, but fretted over how strange and realistic the dream felt.
"Arrival at Saffron City imminent, please prepare for your disembark"
The train conductor sounded horribly dramatic. Shrugging her shoulders, Bashy prepared herself to disembark, as it were.
Saffron City ---------------- Route 8
was magnificent, but certainly not overwhelming as Bashy had come from Goldenrod City,
a place equal or even greater in it's populous. The brunette stepped out into the sunshine and took the moment to remember what she had learnt about the historical city.
Saffron City is the largest and one of the busiest cities in the Kanto region, and is even famous outside of Kanto. It is the tenth most populous city in the Pokémon world. The large Silph Co. headquarters building stands firm as the city's centerpiece, while two Gyms dominate the north-eastern corner district. Not only is this the central business district of Kanto, it also holds the region's largest infrastructure, including the Magnet Train station, which allows ease of access between Johto and Kanto. The easiest way to get to the Power Plant is by exiting to the east, towards Route 8 and Lavender Town.
Shaking her head in confirmation, Bashy dusted off her skirt and suddenly darted towards the east exit, in her sprint she was forced to dodge various types of onlookers and civilians. She wanted to stay and talk to the oppressed people of this city, but her time was running out. After several minutes of running, Bash found herself staring at the entrance to Route 8. Giving herself one last breath, the trainer stepped through the white light and into the wild.
