Caleb Donovan Richard Michaels
Cal, (Was called Chuck by his father)
(Also referred to as: The Vigilante, The Crusader, The Hood)
16 [Birthday: August 08, 1997] (Based on the RP being set in 2013)
Caleb has a slender frame that is covered in compacted muscle built up from years of training and toning his body. He torso and legs are built like someone who regularly competes in marathons and free running competition while his arms and shoulders are built more like that of a boxer mixed with a martial artist. Cal prides himself on being more balanced in his physique and as such as kept his flexibility and somewhat slender frame despite his well chiseled biceps and abdominal.
Deep Blue with flecks of icy blue strewn throughout, he is especially known for his keen piercing blue eyes. Caleb's eyes are known for being able to look right through someone as though he is staring into their soul.
Deep Brown with strands of gold and auburn acting as natural highlights, these are most visible in bright light where as in dim and darkly lit places, Cal's hair can seem to be almost black. He keeps his hair anywhere from a short to medium length, often grooming it into various ways.
Caleb's general attire ranges from long sleeve mock tees to hoodies usually. Always paired with loose or boot-cut dark wash jeans, Cal prefers to wear semi loose fitting tops in an effort to hide his more chiseled physique so as not to draw too much attention to himself. To that extent he often will wear a t-shirt paired with a hoodie and jacket, or a long sleeved shirt adorned with a hood and a jacket. Depending on the weather though Cal may wear just a t-shirt, or just a long sleeved mock tee, though due to New Lilith's climates this only ever happens during July or August, the rest of the year tends to be too cold and damp for such light clothing.
Caleb's current costume is an amalgamation between Motorcycle Armour and jury-rigged Black Lotus Society armour. To that extent Cal wears a modified breast plate with folded steel plates sewn into hardened leather beneath a heavy leather jacket. The jacket had reinforced shoulders of hardened leather, along with hardened leather pads on the elbows and forearms. The upper chest has two large folded steel plates sewn into the jacket and several smaller plates around the abdomen to ensure Caleb doesn't sacrifice much mobility. The back, likewise is made of several large plates around the shoulders and a few smaller ones on the lower back. All of the plates are hidden under the leather so that the jacket itself doesn't like overly conspicuous. The jacket is also adorned with a hood which has been slightly reinforced, though much of the hood is made of a translucent mesh like material to ensure Caleb doesn't have a blind spot. To obscure his face further, Cal wears a black bandanna mask which encompasses the upper half of his head stopping on the bridge of his nose. This mask has two narrow slots for his eyes, and Cal puts black makeup on his eyes to ensure they blend in. Around his neck he wears a thick mesh like scarf that the Black Lotus Society use as a face wrap. The mesh like material allows it to act similar to a filter mask in the case of dust particles or minor gases in the air. Like the jacket, the pants are made of a leather composite with folded steel plates sewn in around the thighs and along the shin. In addition to this, Caleb wears knee high tabi boots which allow his feet additional movement when running. The toes are protected by steel in the same manner as a steel toe boot. In addition to his base armour, Cal wears a sash belt around his wash under a heavier 'utility' belt from which he hands various weapons. Over his chest will also occasionally be a large utility belt strapped diagonally across his torso depending on what equipment Caleb carries that night. Around his thighs are generally two small holsters from his tambo sticks, and on his forearms Caleb wears steel bracers which have a small curved scalloped blade near the elbow in order to assist in climbing, like wise, he wears knee pads with a similar blade jutting forward.
Skills and Talents:
At the age of seven, Caleb had his IQ measured and scored at 194, his intelligence and knowledge base has only increased since making Caleb one of the potential most intelligent men on Earth even at the age of seventeen. A master at problem solving, Caleb can jury rig almost any contraption and most crosswords and Sudoku puzzles only last for a couple minutes in front of him.
Also known as a photographic memory, Caleb has the ability to recall any part of his past, or something he's seen, heard, tasted, smelled or felt in great detail. This is most likely developed out of his genius IQ.
Caleb has very highly developed mental and intuitive abilities. The ability to read body language heavily contributes to this, Caleb can even listen to heartbeats, and will often take a hold of his target by their wrist to gauge their heartbeats. Another ability that contributes to Cal's mentalism, is his ability to observe and remember every detail in a room, or his surroundings, even details that may seem insignificant at first. With the use of all this, Caleb is able to apply his mentalism to subliminally manipulate his subjects, or even psychological influence them. Cal's use of mentalism can lead to people mistaking him for psychic, something which he tires of hearing as he doesn't believe in magic. Though he has used this to his advantage before.
Caleb has always had a natural gift for strategy whether through playing Chess with his grandfather and father as a child or reading the Art of War. His ability to read people and predict their actions has also helped. One summer, Landon roped Cal into helping him coach a little league football team and Cal was easily able to ensure victory for each game much to Landon's surprise as Cal had never picked up a football in his life. Caleb can think for either himself whether in combat or simply planning ahead, known both for issuing quick orders on his feet and for laying out an elaborate scheme in advance.
Caleb has been performing both gymnastics and taekwondo since the age of six, however after his eighth birthday, the intensity he put into this increased. When Caleb's mother passed away at the age of fourteen, he began to weight lift and run, training and honing his body as well as he could. In addition to these activities, Caleb has done at least a year of kick-boxing, boxing, fencing and wrestling in his freshman and sophomore years of high school along with teaching himself parkour and training under Zhang Jun.
Like his father before him, Caleb practised taekwondo. Early in life, Cal would discover his father exercising in the morning with taekwondo and the boy would begin to imitate him since the exercises reminded him of the Jedi from Star Wars. Donovan would go to enrol his son in taekwondo under a private tutor which Caleb would continue until Alan cut off his trust fund after Caleb's fight at the age of sixteen.
Black Lotus Training:
Under the tutelage of Zhang June, Caleb was taught the martial arts used by the deadly Black Lotus Society. Drawing from many different martial arts, the Black Lotus style incorporates Aikido, Bōjutsu, Choy Li Fut, Hapkido, Jōdo/Jōjutsu, Ninjutsu, Nippon Kempo and Okinawan Kobudō. But the primary elements of the Black Lotus training are built upon the Southern Dragon and Black Tiger Fist styles of Kung Fu with the immovable mind mentality of Fudōshin. In addition to this, Zhang has introduced Caleb to many weapons that the Black Lotus Society using but Caleb is only skilled in a few of them.
Having been trained in gymnastics, ballet and diving while growing up. Caleb has an excellent knowledge of acrobatics and uses them to provide himself with a unique fighting style as well as the ability to free run. Caleb can be found on the rooftops of his city learning to deal with fear in the face of danger and practising the sport of free running using his skills from gymnastics to self teach himself parkour. These skills have only continued to develop over the last year.
Caleb is naturally gifted with designing and creating new technologies and devices as such he's a budding software engineer, along with numerous other fields though currently due to the lack of resources he focuses on designing software and hardware for his electronics and creating and upgrading his existing devices. However given the resources, with Caleb's mind and skills what he could create is potentially endless.
Luckily for Caleb, Zhang Jun has a rather diverse and large storehouse of weapons in her dojō, the below are preferred weapons of Cal's though he doesn't always carry them all as they would reduce his mobility. After all as the proverb says 'A good ninja does not carry many tools for one purpose, but one tool for many purposes.' Many of these weapons are composed of traditional woods and were made in the old ways as per Black Lotus Society specifications.
Kusari-Fundo/Suru Jin/Suruchin-Weighted Chain Weapon, depending on the other equipment Cal is carrying at the time, this is either worn wrapped around his chest or his waist.
Hanbō-Half Staff (Approximately Foot to Waist height in length), Cal carries this weapon strapped to the back of his waist.
Twin Tambo-Short Staff (Size of the length from the hand to the elbow), these are kept sheathed in the holsters on either thigh.
Twin Yawara-Small thick stick that is approximately one inch longer than the hand on either side.). Cal's gauntlets have a spot for these under his wrist. There's a spring loaded mechanism which shoots them into his hands with a specific wrist movement.
Bolas-A weapon comprised of three weighted balls linked together which can be hurled to ensnare a foe or to potentially crippled limbs. Cal carries these on his utility belt when in use.
Caltrops-Sharp 'jack shaped' objects which are thrown onto the ground in order to unbalance an enemies footing and cause minor damage. Like the bolas, these weapons are carried on Cal's utility belt.
Bō-Staff-Full Sized Staff, approximately six feet in length. Cal doesn't usually carry the full size staff due to finding it bulky, however when in use, this weapon is carried across Cal's back.
Crossbow-Medium sized crossbow, used primarily for firing bolts fitted with rope in order for Caleb to climb building without appropriate surfaces from him to hold onto or to cross chasms too far to jump. Usually, Cal wears this weapon strapped to the back of his right shoulder with the bolts riding on the back of his left hip. It should be noted, this is actually made like a modern crossbow, and has been fitted with a revolver like chamber to enable a rapid rate of fire.
Nunchuka-Semi-weighted tambo length shafts connected by several links of chain. Originally a farmer's weapon for thrashing wheat, the nunchucka was developed into a weapon along with several farm instruments during the Feudal Japan period. Cal's particular nunchucka can be locked together to resemble a hanbō, only to be unhinged and used as a nunchuka. For this reason, Cal will either carry a hanbō or the nunchucka, and as such it is stored on the back of his waist. Due to the nature of the nunchucka, it's a semi-modern weapon and is made of both new composite materials and traditional wood.
Rope-Standard robe akin to that used by spelunkers and rock climbers. Cal always tries to retrieve the rope if he can and as such avoids cutting it at all costs. He can also combine this with his shurikens to make a rope-dart like weapon in addition to combing the robe with the crossbow shafts. The robe is also used for tying up perps when necessary.
Climbing Spikes-Small spikes which fasts under the flat of the foot and the flat of the palm to increase one's grip when climbing. Particularly useful on wood and craggy surfaces like brick.
Dart Shaped Shurikens-Long shurikens, weight and thrown like darts, Cal prefers these over the star shaped version but isn't above using those either. Occasionally tipped with a small paralysing agent, Cal carries these all along his utility belt and if necessary will stock his waist belt with them as well.
In addition to the above weapons and tools, Caleb has built himself a small forensics kit, as well as carrying zip ties, and a tablet which he can use to hack and record information. The tablet is carried in a small armoured backpack which sits neatly between Caleb's shoulders and the rest of the equipment is carried on his utility belt.
Virtues and Vices (Optional):
Music- Caleb enjoyed various music, primarily grunge music such as Nirvana and Mudhoney, Post-Grunge like Pearl Jam and Foo Fights as well as New Rock like Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Shinedown. In addition, Caleb also enjoys mixing music and has numerous DJ based programs on his cellphone, laptop and tablets.
Movies- An avid movie watcher in his youth, Caleb was introduced to movies through his father and the pair made it a goal to watch a movie together at least once every weekend. Of all of these movies, the Star Wars Saga had the highest impact on Caleb. Though he enjoys numerous movies ranging from Across the Universe to Jaws to Inception to Indiana Jones all the way to the Mask of Zorro.
Video Games- At one time, Caleb's sole hobby was reduced solely to gaming, however that changed a long time ago. Still he enjoys picking up a new game when he can and playing it through. He's played just about everything from Assassin's Creed to Tomb Raider and many other titles. Though he has a particular dislike for Grand Theft Auto and its related titles.
Exercising: Despite coming off as a nerd to his classmates, Caleb enjoyed the gruelling exercises that Jun puts him through and the ones he had designed before that even. Caleb almost gets a high off his muscles aching and burning.
Alcohol- Due to his mother's alcoholic depression, Caleb despises the drink and reacts with hostility towards anyone who approaches him with it or offers it to him. This has gotten him in trouble with Sam on occasion.
Painkillers/Sleeping Pills: Not so much that Caleb dislikes these pills, so much as he's addicted to them. They're somewhat of a crutch for him as he uses them to force sleep upon himself and to ignore pain that is likely necessary for him to avoid serious harm. Nonetheless, Caleb will secretly pop these pills, often dry and chewing them because he's so desensitized to them.
Anger: Often seen as quick to anger and aggressive. Caleb frequently has to grapple to keep his rage under wraps and struggles not to come off as the angry rich kid whose parents died. As such he's often seen as a brooding individual.
Caleb has a very pessimistic view of the world. Due to the death of both his parents, he doesn't necessarily believe in good luck, or luck in general. Nor does Caleb believe in any notion of religion, karma or supernatural forces. Caleb believes in logic and reason, and that everything happened for a reason. These reasons Caleb justifies as humans being a flawed race and a blight unto themselves. Due to this outlook on the world, Caleb is often seen by others as thinking he's above most people and he very much has a 'Prince of New Lilith' persona about him. In fact, this is just due to poor social skills due to being hidden away from the world for most of his life. Landon and Samantha are helping bring Cal down to Earth but his strong opinionated mannerisms still get him in trouble. Cal can also come off as highly hostile, intrusive and downright aggressive. This contributes to generating a brooding persona which often makes people wary of him especially when Cal isn't keep it in check. He is seen to be lacking empathy and sympathy, though this is not true, merely he doesn't know how to correctly display either. Due to this however, he's often judged as having sociopathetic tendencies. Fiercely driven, Caleb will stop at almost nothing to ensure his goals are accomplished and has the bad habit of going through anything that gets in his way.
Caleb Michaels comes from a very privileged household with an extensive background. Born to college sweethearts Donovan Jackson Richard Michaels and Rebecca Faulkner-Michaels. The pair was introduced by their mutual friend Landon Baxter and were both immediately smitten at first sight. All throughout their post secondary careers the pair would date eventually becoming engaged and later married. Donovan graduated with a Masters in Engineering while Rebecca had completed a general arts degree. Unlike Donovan who came from more humble roots in a middle income family, Rebecca was the heiress to the massive Faulkner fortune.
The Faulkners were one of New Lilith's founding families and as such had their hands in most of the city's more profitable avenues, the most notable one being the city's massive hydro-electric operation. A very traditional couple, Rebecca's parents initially were displeased with her choice in Donovan as opposed to her previous boyfriend Landon who had a similar background to her own. However Donovan eventually did grow on them and upon their passing while Caleb was the age of four, both Donovan and Rebecca inherited the entire estate, (though this could be due to the fact they had sired a grandson for the traditional Faulkners.). This did not sit well with Rebecca's brother Alan however, as he had been cut off from his parents funds years earlier after dropping out of Yale and squandering his fortune away on alcohol, drugs, gambling and of course women. Out of pity perhaps, Rebecca would allow Alan to live in his own wing in the Faulkner Estate and Donovan brought Alan on at his company as an apprentice. Donovan started Michaels' Industries and with his revolutionary designs, the company soon shot forward and became a critical and financial success. Michaels' Industries was a broad company that focused on everything from defense design to self sustaining energy sources. Then came the Nexus project. The project was developed to assist and protect soldiers from any future 'meta-threats' comparable to what happened after the end of World War Two and during the Cold War.
It was during the beginning stages of the Nexus project that Caleb was born. As a young child, Caleb was given everything he ever wanted, raised on a silver spoon and told the world was his for the taking. There was nothing that could stop the boy, especially given how quickly his mind seemed to grasp concepts. However it was these mindsets which backfired as he grew. Even at a young age, Caleb could be described as arrogant and selfish however the boy received the wake up call of his life on the eve of his eighth birthday. His father had flown over seas to meet with the UN about the completed Nexus project, but upon finding out they wanted to use it as a weapon instead of a method of defense, Donovan opted to keep the project and have it scrapped. By the time his plane had returned from Russia, the Michaels' personal driver had been bought off and drove Donovan out to the pier where he was savagely beaten and then executed. When the news of this reach Caleb and his mother that night, something inside of him changed. He felt the desire for revenge and began to find ways to focus his body and mind on skills he would need to accomplish that while Rebecca sunk into depression on the end of a bottle.
With Donovan's death, Alan took over the company and had the name changed to Michaels/Faulkner Innovations. Donovan's former partner, William Jacobs took over lead development and would continue work on the Nexus project despite being set back several years due to the loss of Donovan's research notes. Alan would go on to take the company out of the private sector and go public with it, generating many military deals and accumulating his own fortune. Nonetheless he continued to live in his parent's mansion with his sister and nephew. Caleb always saw his uncle as mooching off his mother and early on in life developed a disdain for him. Caleb always saw his uncle as trying to move in to fill the void left by his father after his death. To Caleb however, no one could ever fill that void and the emptiness left inside was like a raw angry nerve, always beating, always hurting. The next few years of Caleb's life were filled with him excelling through his private studies and training himself to never be caught off guard.
Caleb's mother slunk progressively more and more into alcoholism and not a day went by were she didn't drown herself in a bottle at almost every meal. After the connections to their driver being involved in Donovan's death were found out, Rebecca laid off the entire hired help. But with her being drunk most of the time, she was in no condition to take care of Caleb. However, Donovan's best friend and former roommate stepped in to take care of Caleb and while the boy resisted at first thinking Landon was trying to be his father, he soon realized that Landon was trying to be something he needed more right now, a friend.
Despite everything though, Caleb was still unsatisfied about the police investigation, no shooter had ever been turned up and as such, Caleb began his own investigation at the age of twelve. For two years, Caleb used whatever resources he had at his disposal to find out what he could about New Lilith and its crime ridden streets. It was during this time he began to uncover rumours of a kingpin, one man controlling all the crime in the city. It was also the discovery of this information which would lead to his mother's death. In the months leading up to Cal's fourteenth birthday, Rebecca began to receive harassing phone calls threatening her to make her son stop poking around where he wasn't welcome. However, often too drunk to fully comprehend the calls, Rebecca ended up effectively ignoring the threats.
With Landon's help, Rebecca went on to organize Caleb a large birthday celebration both the fact it was his birthday and because he was entering into High School. The night almost went off without a hitch, but near the end of the night, Rebecca received another phone call, this time though she listened. Grabbing a bottle of wine, and storming off to her car, only for Caleb to chase after her. Begging her not to drive, Rebecca refused to listen and continued to drink from the bottle while she started the ignition. Climbing in the front seat, Cal begged her to explain but she kept saying something about going to get help. Holding out his cellphone, Caleb begged his mother to call for help but she slammed the car into drive. The next few minutes were all a blur and Caleb only remembers waking up in the back of an ambulance with a large cut on his left cheek.
With his mother gone, Caleb went to live with Landon Baxter. Landon being closer to both Donovan and Rebecca than Alan ever was, he had been made Cal's godfather and legal guardian in the event of the worst. Moving into Landon's downtown condo was a big change for Caleb compared to the Faulkner Estate on the outside of the city. Landon enrolled Caleb in New Lilith College Academy in an attempt to get the boy away from the life which hadn't gone so well so far. While it was rough at first, Caleb began to meet friends and by the end of his freshman year had a fairly solid circle of friends. But in the beginning of Caleb's sophomore year he found himself in trouble. After standing up for his friend Oliver and giving a good trashing to the resident bully, Caleb found himself a target and later the same day after he went to a florist to get some flowers for his parent's grave he was ambushed by the bully and his friends. While he was handling the fight due to years of self defense training, the bully suddenly pulled a gun on him. Luckily and perhaps strangely for Cal, the store owner came to his rescue, disarming the other boy with a shuriken. Though surprised by the woman's perfect aim and her abilities with a shuriken, not to mention the fact she was carrying one, Cal decided not to dwell on it at that moment. When he saw his opening, Cal charged the other boy and tackled him to the ground, breaking his arm.
While Cal didn't report the incident, the other boy wasn't as forgiving and Cal was brought up on charges including aggressive assault. When Alan found out about this, he decided to make it his incentive to punish Caleb despite Landon being the boy's official guardian. When Rebecca had died, Alan became the heir of the Faulkner fortune at least until Caleb turned eighteen. As such he had control over the boy's trust fund which of course paid for all of Caleb's private lessons. In response to Caleb's 'crime', Alan cut the boy off from the trust fund and effectively his private lessons. Outraged, Caleb promised his uncle the day he turned eighteen his uncle would go back to being the gutter rat he truly was and that he had best enjoy Caleb's bed while he still could. To add insult to injury, Alan had ensured that the judge gave Caleb community service.
Strangely though, the florist, Zhang Jun approached the judge and asked that Caleb come to work for her to fulfil his community service. Caleb both nervous and intrigued by this agreed to it. Asking Jun where she learned to use a shuriken, Jun would explain that as a young girl in China, she was born into a group of assassin's known as the Black Lotus Society. From birth she was trained to be a weapon, but unlike many others she escaped to America where she forged a new identity and settled down as a woman who sells flowers. Seeing Caleb's potential, Jun was intrigued and wanted to learn more about the boy, she could clearly see in his eyes he was on a mission. Caleb explained how his father was murdered and he thought his mother's death was connected. Motioning for Caleb to follow her, Jun would show Caleb down into the basement of her shop, where Caleb was surprised to find a dojō. Jun explained that when she was younger she would continuously trained to ensure if she was ever found she wouldn't be caught off guard. But now, old and weak she needed someone to protect her. Making a deal with Caleb, Jun agreed to train Caleb on two conditions, he would become her protector and secondly he would use the the skills she taught him to make a difference and not just for vengeance. Agreeing Caleb became Jun's apprentice. Over the course of the next year, Caleb would report to Jun acting under the pretence of carrying out his community service and then a part time job. All the while he was training and then using his skills to go out onto the streets and bring a form of justice to thugs and drug dealers that littered New Lilith.
His crusade on crime has brought him to the attention of the police and in particular one Lieutenant, Daniel Hudson who ironically is a drinking buddy of Landon. But the most important part of Caleb's crusade is that he has gotten himself a name. The kingpin's name, Roman Locke. With this new information Caleb has no intention of giving up his crusade, and continues to stalk the New Lilith skyline every night. Despite his promise to Jun, his mission for vengeance comes before making a difference.

Robert would go on to survive his wife but passed away before Caleb turned three.
Agnes Murdoch-Faulkner-Grandmother (Deceased):
A traditional noble woman. Agnes always made sure she was seen but rarely was she heard. Sadly she had little to nothing to do with her grandson aside from teaching his mother how to nurse him properly. Agnes passed away shortly after Caleb's first birthday.
Donovan Jackson Richard Michaels-Father (Deceased):
Of all the people in the world, no one has ever been closer to Caleb than his father. Loving husband to Rebecca Michaels, Donovan always said it was love at first sight when Landon introduced him to Rebecca during Frosh week. He asked her out on a date the following day and the rest was history. A genius in his own right, Donovan's intelligence surpassed that of his father but Caleb has shown the potential to more than out do his old man. Donovan was praised for his morals and good work ethics coming from a place where he had to earn everything he had in life. Despite his best efforts to instill these in his son, the life style they had earned spoiled every message he had tried to teach. Up until his death, Donovan tried to teach Caleb the finer things in life, they would watch Star Wars, together along with other movies and media. Donovan had a stash of movies and TV shows which he saw as vastly superior to those which were on TV at the time. Donovan's death would go to vastly influence Caleb as well as Rebecca but in very different ways. To this day, Caleb brings flowers to her grave on a daily basis.
Rebecca Michaels-Mother (Deceased):
Rebecca Michaels was at one time the most loving mother and wife any man or child could ask for. A role model daughter and a very involved community woman, this all changed when her husband was murdered and she sunk into an alcoholic depression. For nearly six years, Caleb would care for Rebecca with the help of Landon. Sadly though on the night of his fourteenth birthday, Rebecca would storm out and attempt to drive drunk which ended up with her dead and Caleb wounded. To this day, Caleb brings flowers to her grave on a daily basis.
Alan Darius Faulkner-Uncle:
Alan Faulkner was the ultimate party boy in his youth until his parents got fed up with his antics and cut him off from the family fortune after he dropped out of Yale. He disappeared for a couple years only to return before Rebecca and Donovan's wedding. Despite being cut off, he had managed to survive quite well, Caleb believes he slept around with old heiress whose looks had faded and would accept any man. Either way, his sister Rebecca would eventually invite him to come home and take up residence in the Faulkner Estate where he still lives today. Albeit now, he has the Master Suite as opposed to living in one of the servant wings. An engineer, or at least he attempts to be, Alan is now the acting CEO of what was formerly Michaels Industries. Due to being a rather vain person, Alan upon becoming CEO changed the company's name and also went public, effectively selling Caleb's father's company and taking it away from Caleb forever. This is one of the many reasons why Caleb has a rather bitter disdain for his uncle. In addition to this, his Uncle has cut him off from the family fortune and continues to squander Caleb's inheritance away. Caleb believes that Alan almost made Michaels Industries go bankrupt which is why he went public with the company.
Landon Christopher Baxter-Legal Guardian:
Landon was friends with Rebecca Michaels since they were children, both of them coming from very wealthy parents. Like Rebecca's parents the Faulkners, the Baxters were also old money and as such their children were seen as a suitable match for one another. Dating all through high school, the pair went through a rough break up which lead to Landon moving away and working at a bar while cage fighting on the side. Soon enough, Rebecca came after him and convinced the man to come home. Together they enrolled in University where Landon met his roommate Donovan Michaels. Landon would go on to introduce Donovan to Rebecca and while he resented the relationship that came out of it, he would eventually realize they were meant to be. Donovan would even later honour Landon by asking him to be the best man at his wedding and later the happy couple would place Landon as young Caleb's legal guardian and god father in the case anything happened to them. Landon went through school to become a doctor, however his time in California opened his eyes to what happens on the streets and much to his parents resentment, Landon became a paramedic and clinic doctor. To show their displeasure, Landon was cut off from his inheritance and it was split among his two siblings. This however did not faze Landon as he didn't care about the money. A sentiment he hopes to pass on to Caleb one day.
Samantha Ramona Russells-Love Interest:
Samantha lives in the same condominium complex as Landon Baxter and was the first friend Caleb made upon being enrolled to New Lilith College Academy. A smart girl, she intrigues Caleb due to the fact she's one of the first people he's ever met he can't read. Samantha is a self described 'Extroverted Introvert', she's involved in a lot of actives at NLCA ranging from Musical Theatre to Student Council, but she spends her weekends at home with a good book. Caleb isn't truly honest with himself about his feelings towards Samantha believing them to be a distraction from his mission. Samantha has feelings for Caleb too but tries to keep them vague due to fear of rejection because of Caleb's closed off persona. It should be noted however that Samantha is the only person that can almost make Caleb smile.
Oliver 'Ollie' Nichols-Best friend:
Oliver is your token nerd at school. Though often mocked for it and a target of racism due to his skin colour. Oliver is African American, and the second person that Caleb met at New Lilith College Academy. With a lot of common interests the two hit it off pretty quickly though Oliver is rather cautious of Caleb's brooding persona especially after Caleb stood up for him and kicked Luke Bard's sorry butt. In addition to that, Oliver is rather jealous of Caleb's status of being the crush of both Kourtney and Samantha. Oliver has gone to school with Kourtney since pre-school and has been in love with her since day one but with Caleb around, Kourtney wouldn't notice him if he was on fire.
Born into the secretive Black Lotus Society during the late forties. Jun is old enough and connected enough to have lived through the Cold War and is well aware of 'Meta-Threats' and the Lore. The Black Lotus Society has their hands in many pockets all over the world and as such were called in to help combat the Lore. The lessons learned from those battles were passed on to their assassins to ensure they would be prepared to deal with any situation. Though Jun has only had the misfortune of having to face one such 'Meta-Threat', she has ensured she was prepared to fight more. Having been fully trained by the BLS, Jun was sent on various missions until the age of twenty-five when she was ordered to eliminate an entire family. Unable to bring herself to kill a young girl, Jun ran away from the Black Lotus Society, escaping over seas to the United States. Forging herself a new identity, she moved around for several years before settling in the heart of New Lilith and opening a florist shop. Though well into her sixties, Jun is still fairly in shape but she knows her age is catching up to her. This why she decided to train Caleb after seeing him fight and gauging his potential.
Kourtney 'Knockers' Knox-Friend:
A girl known for her 'assets', Kourtney Knox is something of a 'valley girl' though not necessarily stupid, she can come off as a ditz. With a rather gratuitous chest, Kourntey was given her nickname in grade eight and it unfortunately stuck. A long time friend with Ollie Nichols, though completely oblivious to the fact he's pining after her. Kourtney has been flirting with Caleb since they met, though many believe it's just because he stands to inherit a kingdom. Since she's Latino, Kourtney also believes herself to be an incredible dancer and has no problem showing off her ability to 'twerk' it, anywhere, anytime.
Not as close with the rest of the group, Tiffany is the daughter of police Captain Joesph Reid and one of New Lilith College Academy's cheerleaders. She's dating football player Cliff Ryder who is a friend of Oliver Nichols which is why she's friends with the group. Despite currently being in a relationship, Tiffany has been seen eyeing up the new student Thomas Campbell.
One of New Lilith's College Academy's best football players, Cliff won the MVP award in his sophomore year. A long time friend of Oliver Nichols, Cliff hangs out with the group every so often and brings along his girlfriend Tiffany. Cliff's parents disapprove of his pursuits into football and wish he put more effort towards his studies. Cliff is an Asian American, which often surprises some of the other school's football teams especially due to his height and size.
William Jacobs-Father's Old Partner:
William Jacobs is the man who does most of the designing at Michaels/Faulkner Innovations. Formerly the founding partner to Donovan Michaels, William became the head of R+D after the death of the former. The Nexus Project is also entirely underneath him now and he's been striving to completely the process though Donovan's originally notes were lost leaving William to have to reverse engineer what was done and work his way back. Though he tolerates Alan, William wouldn't hesitate to replace the man and is secretly cheering on Caleb for when the boy becomes eighteen and retakes his father's legacy. William has allowed Caleb to do a Co-Op through New Lilith College Academy in the R+D Department much to the chagrin of Alan.
Luke 'The Duke' Bard-Antagonist:
Know as the school's jerk, Luke attempted to bully both Caleb and Oliver at the beginning of their Sophomore Year only for Caleb to embarrass Luke in a quick fight when ended when Caleb used Luke's own momentum against him to smash him into a locker. Seeking revenge, Luke later ambushed Caleb outside of Jun's Florist Shop, only for the latter to once again win the fight until Luke pulled a gun on him. Not noticing Jun, the old lady disarmed him giving Caleb an opening which he used to break Luke's arm. Luke had his father press charges. Luke will still try to antagonize Caleb and his friends but usually backs down if Caleb makes a move towards him.
A lackey to Luke, Brad was once friends with Oliver and Luke in the third grade until Luke made him choose a side and since that day he's been riding on Luke's heels. Aside from that there's not much to say about him except he's usually behind Luke jeering the other students with him. He's really just an idiot with a mouth and a mass of muscles.
