Nightfall and The City Wants Us Dead
Ok, here I am with 2 ideas set in what I think are mostly original worlds
Ok, this one a little morbid methinks. So, world plagued with eternal night or whatever, people do stuff it's great.
But... you know steampunk and the other punkpunk genres, right? What if everything ran on death? Machines using blood as fuel, bound souls controlling trains, throwing corpses into grinders... And then throw in some necromancy and blood magic and [s]magic makes it all complete[/i] skadoosh, corpsepunk!
The world of Nightfall is dark, in many ways. Zombies, ghosts, vampires and the like live normal lives living among the living and necromancers and blood mages often run for mayor or the many independent townships spread across the surface (and below!) The dead are restless, and those that stay dead are highly valued for four main components: their body, their heart, their mind, and their soul, all of which are valid sources of power to run the grinding machines and spirit engines and blood runes used in everyday life!
Basically it's a sort of morbid steampunk-esque fantasy setting.
The City Wants Us Dead
Down, down, down... The Undercity is very much alive, and it doesn't like you or your friends. This is a dark sci-fi set in an large enclosed layered city run by a sadistic and cruel AI (AI's, plural? maybe...). People work to survive against the sentient "liquid" nanobots that "deconstruct" anything they touch, the mechanical (and sometime biomechanical) horrors built by the insane minds of madmen and AI, and the other survivors in the Undercity. Also, energy weapons and embedded technology and bionics and biotech and mutations and body horror and other stuff.
Basically it's kinda horror sci-fi survival against crazy AI.
SO who's interested?
I kinda wanted to make them discussion groups if anyone was interested in making side stories and the like as I have quite a few ideas for the two settings, but I have no ideas how those work :|
They'd probably be high free or casual RPs.
I'm interested in both. I think I prefer Nightfall better however. I'm interested to see how a world based on horror works. Are true dead mined like a natural resource? How are souls harvested? Are normal people raised like cattle and/or a slave caste? Sorry to ramble, it sounds fun.
No worries, I often ramble myself

I should mention there is no true resurrection, only undeath, though it comes in many forms. Souls are probably harvested through magical means, binding them to crystals or something a la Skyrim. I was thinking of having a grim reaper esque figure(s?) that are the only ones who can harvest souls, possibly a type of undead. Normal humans live many walks of life, but it isn't unheard of them being kept as "cattle" that are just used as energy, food, or... Experiments.
I should mention that many of the undead in Nightfall are sentient, though it's got its fair share of mindless flesh eaters. There's probably from shapeshifters and other less dead creatures there too.
Sorry it took me so long to get back, but I'm very interested in either of the games mentioned and would especially love to try the Nightfall setting
Oh, I almost forgot I posted this D:
Is anyone else interested?
As for my thing with the Gravediggers and necromancers, I'd say it's less a race and it more government affiliated parties (as there are definitely necromancers in places of power) have priority on these things and non-government parties try to sneakily grab them before anyone notices there even was a body.
A lot of this is very changeable if you have ideas, I don't have a definite idea of what everything is gonna be like.
So no more interest here... I think I'll write up an interest check for just Nightfall in casual so it gets some more traffic.
Nice ideas dude! I myself am interested in both, however I think Nightfall is more interesting. Count me in. On a side note, if we're doing Nightfall, save me a Necromancer spot!
Update: Actually, i've got my hands a bit full at the moment. So it's a Maybe from me.
