As you can plainly see I am LordShyGuy. I'm no newcomer to roleplaying, but I'm not really a fan of a lot of the roleplaying I've seen as I skimmed over the different forums. Not that I'm against it, I'm just used to at most a paragraph per post with a lot of interaction between everyone.
I don't know if anyone does this, and I've never gotten to try it, but I like the idea of a sort of DnD style of roleplaying with dice rolls determining successes or failures to put it simply. I've certainly been disappointed in the past with people metagaming and the lack of any sort of consequences in previous roleplaying experiences. For instance in a roleplay where there was a lot of fighting, nobody ever died. There was no weight to anything that happened and while the story was really interesting, most players were getting away with murder so to speak.
I will be trying some of my ideas here, but I don't see myself participating a whole lot in other roleplays. I simply cannot write and read paragraph upon paragraph, it's just not for me. I like more serious roleplay, but I don't feel that requires seriously long posts. :/
Welcome to the Guild, LordShyGuy. Have you looked over Free and Casual? Those tend to have shorter, faster posts and may be more your style. We don't often see Dice based RPs here but are in the works of getting a sub-forum for it since there certainly is an audience. Here is a Guide I always point out as a quick way to brush up on how we do things. Let me know if you require any assistance. Happy Role playing.
