Anna Danvers paced the dirty tunnels restlessly, her mind running over everything that could have possibly gone wrong. A quick glance at her watch showed her that it had been twnety minutes since she had seen Sarah tka ethe long trek up from the small, branching tunnels, to the main one that led the the castle. Worry gripped at her as she clenched her fists by her side. Ten minutes had been their plan. Ten minutes fro Sarah to reach her on the walkie talkie and let her know that she was in and safe. But it had been twenty and there was nothing.
Anna knew what her training had taught her to do. If a comrade was lost during the course of a mission, you left them behind as lost. The resistance was running thin as it was and they couldn't afford to lose anyone more than they had to. But Sarah wasn't just her partner, she was her best friend. And there was no way that Anna could just leave her. She had to do something. She had to get her. While it could have just been that Sarah had dropped her walkie talkie or something, Anna was afraid that it was something much worse.
Her heart heavy, she started up the tunnels toward the castle.
Prince Lexor Tremble was shocked at the sight that awaited him when he opened the door to his room. His arms were full of binders, each containing detailed maps of the land around the castle. Shouldering open the door, he dropped everything and stared. There, in the center of his room, was a human. A human girl, no less. He could tell because she didn't bare the symbol of his people on her forehead; a simple six pointed star encirled with a halo of vines.
He was instantly on alert. He hand went to the energy taser that he always kept with him for cases just like this. He whipped it out and pointed. "Guards!" He shouted, shoulders tensing.
He approached the human with slow, calculated steps. His arm was in front of him, weapon at the ready. "Who are you?" He questioned harshly. Training senarios flew through his mind. He remembered what his master had told him to do if he ever encountered a human. Their weak point was their heart, located on the left side of their chest. He leveled the taser to where he imagined her heart to be.
