Sky High RP IC
========================Sky HIgh RP - The First Day of School, Part 1===============
Milly waited at the local bus stop. The bus would be here any minute. She wore her white dress today, her black hair was tied into two pigtails with red ribbon. And she got her acceptance letter the last summer and her parents had agreed to let her live on campus. And so she stood at the bus stop in her subburb waiting to get going. WIth her were two suitcases with her clothes and some of her personal belongings.
A kid ran up a little while later, a large knapsack on his back, dragging a wheeled suitcase about half as big as he was behind him that bounced every time it hit a little bump or gap in the sidewalk. He skidded and skipped to a stop a foot or so from hitting Milly and bent over, trying to catch his breath, holding up a finger with one hand, the other checking his tuque.
"The bus... Did I miss it?" he managed to gasp out.
"It's not here yet...hey...you going to Sky High as well?", Milly asked.
He just nodded, still catching his breath. He hadn't been running all out, but he's been running for a while, and keeping a running speed that looked normal for the neighbors was even more tiring. "Car... wouldn't start... had to run... three blocks..." He helped up three fingers for emphasis, "with my stuff... Derek... Hi..."
"Millicent...good to meet you", the japanese girl offered a handshake. "I'm excited for this chance to finally control my power."
Derek took the hand gave her a look. "You know Millicent is a weird name, right?"
"You should have been in my 4th grade class...5 Kevins.", Milly laughed returning the handshake.
"Haven't met a lot of Dereks, so I guess I'm good?" Derek said, slighty on the confused side.
"Seems so.", Milly said, "Just curious, what do you do?"
A black car with tinted windows soon pulled up a distance ahead of the bus stop and let out a man and girl, the man talking to her for a bit before patting her on the head and directing her off towards the bus stop.
He got back in the car but the car didn't leave yet; meanwhile the girl wandered over with her head a little in the clouds, stepping up to the bus stop and taking up a posture similar to Milly's and Derek's.
She didn't look too strange, a relatively normal-appearing girl of 13 with very long blond hair and green eyes.
"Hello, what's your name?", Milly asked.
"Phoebe," Phoebe replied with a degree of formality, though still looking a little absent-minded, thinking for a moment before returning the question in Milly's voice, "What's your name?"
That was odd, she had the same voice as me for a moment, she thought.
"Milly...", she said, her hand taking an odd hue of white cotton for a moment.
"Uh... hi," Derek said. Here was something weird about this other girl, even weirder than Millicent's name (he wasn't sure when it turned to Milly), but he couldn't put his finger on it.
Milly's hand turned back to normal. "Not again...", she sighed.
Phoebe just cocked her head to one side, a little confused and curious at what was wrong.
"It's nothing...", Milly said to her.
Two minutes later the bus arrived, a large yellow school bus that looked relatively normal pulled up to the stop. On the side it said Sky High School Bus. The Bus driver was a 30-something year old well-built man. he wore a hoodie. "Alright everyone, hop aboard.", he said to the three, "Your luggage goes here..." He opened a hatch on the side of the bus where several suitcases were already placed.
Milly placed her luggage onto the bus and then got her way onto the bus.
Phoebe more or less perfectly copied Milly's actions, vaguely remembering basic instructions from the man earlier to find a seat and sit upon it.
Bubbling with excitement, Derek crammed his knapsack and suitcase in, got out a much smaller drawstring bag and bounded on the bus, snagging the seat beside Milly since he knew her.
"Everyone aboard? Then let's go.", the driver said and the bus drove off. They left the subburbs behind them. "Please remember to fasten your seatbelts.", he said.
Milly did so out of nervousness. Plus she was sitting next to a boy. She blushed nervously, "Um...how are you doing?"
"Fine, I guess," Derek said, shifting a little in the seat, wondering why they needed seat belts, since most buses didn't. He looked over at Phoebe, who wasn't too far off before he added another word to Milly. "You?"
Regardless of Phoebe's silence, she seemed to be quite avidly watching everything around her with infinite curiosity, carefully examining pretty much everything and anything regardless of its normality or lack thereof.
"Fine, I just hope I stay in one piece ", Milly said.
"One piece? Okay..?" Derek echoed uncertainly. Milly was one seriously strange person.
The bus drove down towards an abandoned highway rank.
"You sure we're on the right bus?" Derek asked, leaning over Milly to look out the window. "My parent's couldn't fine an address for the school when they looked."
"I don't know. It said Sky High on the side of the bus.", Milly said.
The bus began driving towards the abandoned ramp. The caution sign sunk into the ground as the bus approached the ramp.
"Millie... th-the-there is-isn't anymore road..." Derek stammered, fumbling slowing and clumsily with one hand for the seat belt. "THERE ISN'T ANYMORE ROAD!"
Phoebe had discovered as much too, though there was more awe in her eyes than true surprise or confusion or the like.
"There's what!", Milly shouted, her body began roiling as if bubbling up, extra seatbelts latched her to the back of her seat, the same happened to every seat. Though since Derek was leaning past her to look out the window. And so he was strapped to her. Just as her body continued to ripple, before she finally turned into a girl shaped pillow, her dress was more like a pillow case now. "Gosh darn it, it happened again.", she sighed.
Certain other students were growing concerned. One turned into a rabbit, another was lifting out of his seat. And then the bus sped up.
Between the sudden appearance of a pillow, being strapped to the girl he just met (who apparently turned into pillows...), yelling and scream of the other students and the fact that the bus was speeding towards the ledge... "What!?"
Fort save for sonic dazzle=18
The poor blond Phoebe was getting a bit dazzled by all the children's antics from the bus, not scared or confused, just overwhelmed by all the input of trying to observe them all. Her form quivered a little in response as she looked at the students, eyes going a bit hazy.
And the the bus went off the edge of the road. Perceptive individuals would notice that rocket s were unfolding from the back of the bus, wings unfolded from the sides. DC 15 Notice And then the bus went off road. Flying off into the American sky. "Next stop, Sky High!", the driver said to the students. Looking out the other windows you may be able to see other buses. DC 10 notice.
Phoebe couldn't see squat right now, still dizzy from seeing all the random power displays from the rest of the bus's occupants and swaying a little on the spot, her form still wobbling as she tried to get her mind sorted out.
Phoebe Notice: 2
"AHHHH!!!!!!" Say what you like, but he got on a school bus. Four wheels. Ground travel. Not a plane. He'd never been on a plane before. And buses with wings flying weren't normal outside of cartoons. Flying wasn't expected or really wanted. So he scream, partially into the pillow.
[Derek: TT: 17]
Tara meanwhile sat in the back of the bus fully enclosed in what looked to be full winter gear. All said, she was burning up, but it was the only way she could sit in buses without accidently turning the interiour into an electrified coffin. She was sitting alone as well, hoping that she would be able to get off the carrier soon. She opened her backpack and began to drink some ice cold water. "God..." She nestled herself close to the window and tried to open it, hoping for a breeze, something anything. When the bus took off, she heard some costernation from the students and pressed her head to the glass. "We're flying?" She smiled brightly and laughed in amazement. "We're flying!"
//Seriously... falling bus, people screaming, and she's drinking water?
//Also; wouldn't a latex suit or a cat suit (or something similar to a scuba suit) work much better than winter gear?
//why doesn't she wear a rubbersuit is what you're asking? O.o
//Much better insulation than winter gear. Rubber suit or full body latex suit. Limiting, more flexible, lighter...
//comfort. and even worse really. At least with winter gear, that can absorb some of the sweat she's bound to have. Rubber/latex can't. It's really uncomfortble so i've heard.
//not what I heard but whatever...I've never tried it
//but tighter although it doesn't limit movement that much.
//yellow doesn't seem to have much common sense...
//*laughs off of his chair* I was wondering why Tara wasn't wearing something made out of rubber myself xD
//I suppose we could suggest it to her in character...I know milly will
It was around this time that Alex pulled out a smartphone and turned the volume for whatever he's listening to up to drown out the screaming while he looked outside. It seems that unlike most of the others, he was thoroughly warned that they'll have to take a flying bus to get to the school in question. Must be nice for him to have family members that been to this school before... Besides all the other insaneness on the bus such as a girl turning into a pillow and people turning into other things (which did received a wtf look from him) which he was thankfully not a part of, he does have to wonder what's up with the girl wearing winter clothing and soon decided that maybe she welds ice and is therefore cold... otherwise that outfit makes no sense.
//he notices that over all the other craziness...
//You would be surpised what I might notice when other stuff is happening. Honestly the winter outfit doesn't seem related to a power unless she has Ice Control or something.
In time the campus came into view. A large school building rested on a green lawn, on top of an island in the sky. Milly tried changing back with no such luck for a time, Derek screaming into her was also preventing that, in addition to Derek squished up against her due to seatbelts. And so she remained in pillow form until the bus landed on the school campus. The seatbelts retracted by themselves when they landed.
Derek tumbled off the seat and to the floor, landing on his back with a wheeze. "Ow..."
Milly changed back to normal by the time the bus arrived at the campus. "You alright Derek?", she asked leaning over to look at him.
"I think so..." Derek managed. He sat up slowly and rubbed gingerly at the base of his spine as he did. "Landed on my tail..."
"Tail??", Milly asked, helping him stand up. Students filed off the bus, Milly and Derek did as well, everyone had reverted to human form if they were in another state.
They stood around as an older student zipped towards them, at the rate he was going he looked to be a red streak. He stopped in front of the group. The boy wore a red jacket and had short blonde hair, a handsome lad to be sure. "Hello, I am Dashielle Robert Parr a junior here at Sky High. It is my honor to welcome you all to the Sky High School for Gifted Youngsters, now if all the freshmen can follow me, we'll begin the orientation."
Tara looked out to see the amazing sight before her. The school comming into view and then the landing proces as soon as they stopped. She was grinning like the Cheshire cat as she looked around and finally opened her jacket some now that she wouldn't risk microwaving the others. "Can't wait! Let's go!" She said, practically bouncing up and down.
When the magic bus ride was over with and the others stopped screaming, he removes his headphones and puts them away before getting off the bus with grin. Seriously, the school is in the freaking sky, what's not to love? ...Well, unless you're crazy enough to go sky diving, but besides that, this was going to be fun.
Dash enthusiastically led them through the halls of the school. Pointing out the cafeteria, the classrooms, science department and finally ending in a room that looked like a cross between a gymnasium and a concert hall, but had a number of gadgets built into the floor and ceiling. Students all took their seats in the audience.
A glowing being of pure white energy flew into the large gymnasium landing on the podium where it turned into a woman in a business suit and skirt. "Welcome, students old and new to Sky High, I am Principal Powers...." And then her inspirational speech began...
Alex merely sat there and pretended to listen to every little thing like everyone else did. The bright side? At least he wasn't wearing his headphones. He wasn't quite sure how to feel on the 'power placement' bit since his ability kinda requires a bit of combat to fully show off, buuut... how bad can it be?
Keen ears he might have, but that didn't mean that Derek paid attention to everything that he heard. Not only was he a cat, but he was a thirteen year old kid. And a male kid. Seriously. The majority of it just flew over his head. He got the gist about using powers for good and all, and training of skills and talents and... some other stuff. Oh, powers. When she mentioned that, Derek leaned over to Milly. "You turn into a pillow?"
"Among other things, haven't gotten the hang of it yet.", Milly whispered to Derek.
"That's pretty cool though. Well, not if you only turn into pillows, but cool," Derek grinned. "Is that why you're here? To learn?"
"I think that's why everyone's here.", Milly said to Derek, "Man, I could go on about the problems this power has caused me.", Milly sighed.
Tara listened intently on the speech and everything that was happening. This was just like one of her comic books! If she wasn't so concerned with oking in all the information, she would have squeed. Though she was practically bouncing in her seat, still grinning madly.
Alex simply chuckled at Tara, "Well someone is very excited to be here."
"I was home schooled, mostly," Derek admitted softly, so as not to attract the attention of the principal. "Dad got a flyer in the mail. All I know is that's it's a place for people with... weird... stuff."
Principal Powers stepped off the podium, and the immediate area reset into a small stage. By this point the upperclassmen had already left for their classes. Coach Boomer walked onto the stage. Kinetically projecting his voice he began, "When I call your name, come up to the stage and you will get your chance to show off your power to the class. Based on your display and your applications I will determine your power level."
"Silence!", he shouted, "And now we'll begin..."
Derek had been wincing when he, coach Boomer, first started talking, and outright yelped, covering his ears through his toque when he shouted.
The first few people displayed thier super strength, flight, one girl could shapeshift into animals. Another grew 10 ft tall, that one was a girl in a dress, leadiung to a few of the boys staring for reasons they couldn't yet fathom. Another melted. Others could fire energy blasts from their hands...And then there were those who could glow, turn into beach balls. "Derek Stiles!", Boomer shouted.
"Do you have to yell..." Derek asked after teleporting beside coach boomer in little more that a . He let his tail slip out form hiding and pulled up the edge of his tuque so that they could see his cat ears folded flat. "It hurts when you do... uh... sir," he added as an after thought.
Milly applauded when Derek teleported onto the stage. She wondered what her own display should be.
"Impressive, you may return to your seat...Millicent Sayaki.", he said.
Milly walked slowly down the steps, all eyes were on her. She could feel herself trembling in stage fright.
Derek really did have good hearing. And a great sense of smell. He could hear Milly's heart pound and smell the sweat on her. (He once told someone about it, but they gave him such a look he never did again.) So he walked back instead of teleporting, and gave Milly a smile when he passed her. "You'll do fine," he whispered. Hopefully is was normal person level of hearing. He sometimes spoke too softly for others to hear.
//if she were to transform into something random in this scenario what would it be...hm....a hammer, weaponry, what did the coach want to see. Coach was intimidating, coach, couch...argh...She walked onto the stage tripping on the top step. She tucked into a roll and as she moved she formed into a living room sofa. Several freshmen started laughing. Milly felt embarassed and shifted again into a bowling ball. She felt she was getting the hang of it and shifted into several things in quick succession. A pillow, hammer, american flag, sundress, vase, butter knife, statue of herself. She finished in the form of a birdcage.
Coach Boomer jotted a few notes on his clipboard. "Versatile shapeshifting there miss...now return to your seat."
Milly formed back to normal and within seconds her clothes were back on. She staggered off the stage because she was dizzy. And quicly made it back to her seat. "How'd I do, I couldn't see what happened after I tripped.", she asked Derek.
"Awesome," Derek grinned at her.
"I did alright then?", Milly asked, unconciously she held Derek's hand.
"Yeah. You weren't kidding about the other things part, were you?" Derek grinned. He still had his hat on (It was a slight buffer for sudden noises. Very slight.) but his tail was still out and twitching.
"I could form into just about anything, but I panicked leading to whatever series of items you saw down there...I still can't fully control it.", Milly said to him. She released his hand.
"See? We have that in common," Derek said. "It was still pretty cool."
"Not so cool, when your parents use you for bowling, or the kids your babysitting decide you'd make a good pool toy", Milly sighed, "Though, there was something fun about that time one of my cousins needed a dress on short notice..."
"Your parent's used you for a bowling ball?" Derek echoed, head cocked to one side. "That's... sorta..." he was going to say twisted... but no. "I thought it was weird that my parents keep that animal carrier with them when they travel."
"We went to a bowling alley and I was stuck in the shape of a bowling ball...I had even less control back then...I'd transform into one thing and then become stuck for hours. So my folks thought of a way I could still bowl with them...and your parent's had an animal carrier...for you?", Milly explained, leaning back in her chair. Blushing from the embarassment. She had never shared that story with anyone let alone a boy she had just met on the bus today.
"Um... well... I... kinda turn into a cat at times," Derek said sheppishly. It was a weird thing to admit to people. "I still don't know what causes it, and I don't always stay me when I do... so they keep it just in case. It's why I was homeschooled."
"Just in case you get stuck I'm going to assume. And a cat...that's pretty cool....beats being a bowling ball that's for sure.", Milly said to Derek. Somehow once she found someone all the stories came flying out of her.
"You think? You have had waffle fries?" Derek asked quietly, watching one guy spit at the wall.
"When did I mention waffle fries?", Milly asked. "And I asked you about the animal carrier..."
"It's related," Derek insisted. "I had them once at a costco six years ago." Derek licked his lips nervously before continuing. "Two people got mauled and I couldn't change back for a day and a half."
"And they kept you in an animal carrier during that time?", Milly asked.
"Um... they got it from... animal control..." Derek admitted.
A few more students were given chances to display thier powers. One girl lit herself on fire, anoter boy had a stretchy frog tongue and acid spit. Other students phased through objects and shrunk down to microscopic size.
"Tara Raiden!", Boomer shouted.
"Sounds like a fun story.", Milly said, "Quick, winter girl is on next."
//reconvene down there
Tara went wide eyed as she watched everything, applauding and cheering a little at the display, already thinking what she would do. Electrical absorption was about the only thing she could do... for now. When Tara's name wa called, she really did squee and bolted to her feet. Running to the stage with her jcket left on the chair, she smiled happily. "Hi!" She said excitedly. "It's so great to be here! This place is amazing!"
"What's your power?", Boomer asked.
"I can absorb electricity!" She said beaming. "And I've been struck by lightning fifteen times!"
"Seeing is believing Tara.", Boomer said, "What you got?"
Tara looked for a source of electricity and when she found the nearest one, she hovered her hand towards it. Taking off a glove she was wearing, she closed her eyes and her hand was suddenly engulfed in bolts and sparks, draining the power from the source. Finally satisfied, she opened her eyes and stopped.
"Good potential....now back to your seat.", Boomer said.
Tara nodded happily, though she knew that she'd need to talk to some people about how to not fry people. She practically skipped back to her seat as she got her glove on for saftey. "Hey guys!" She said as she passed the cluster of Milly and Derek. "That was cool what you did."
"Thanks...maybe we can chat later at lunch time.", Milly said to the girl, "How did you do that?"
Tara shrugged and squeezed in a seat, leaving her a seat free between her and Milly. "I dunno. It just sort of happens. I can feel the electricity inside the thing I want to drain and I just picture myself drawing it into me and it just... does."
"Like I picture the thing I wanna be and suddenly I become it?", Milly commented.
"Alex Duran!", Boomer shouted after a boy in pink shorts named Leslie who was able to turn into a girl and back.
Alex proceeds to run towards the stage and jumps up to it to effectively show of those two abilities of his and proceeds to summon a small variety of weapons from medieval, to modern, and even a couple of future looking weapons like a lightsaber and an energy rifle, “I’m not quite sure how to explain it, but I can conjure up any weapon I want, even things that aren’t exactly weapons, but works like one.”
some of the students that were actually watching clapped and cheered. The coach began jotting things down. "Good Show Alex, Good, not great...still very nice.", Coach Boomer said. "Now back to your seat."
//The interesting bit here is that his bloodline is known for the weapon summoning power, he has the weapon creation power.
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4091013/ Weapon Show (preform): 10
Alex hops off the stage feeling quite happy that he didn't manage to do anything dumb like falling on his face and makes his way back to his seat.
Tara shrugged. "I wouldn't know. I just... do it, really. It's about all I can do for now though. I'm hoping I can be like my hero at some point."
"And your hero is?", Milly asked, "And why do you need to be in that heavy coat, it's not winter yet."
"Cole MacGrath." Tara said smiling. "Sure he's a video game character, but I don't care. And I wear this because if anyone touches me or if my skin touches anything metal, I'll electrify them."
"So why the winter get up?" Derek asked with a whisper, leaning forward so he could see around Milly. "Wouldn't a wet suit be better? Then you could were normal close over it..."
"Or one of those latex or rubber catsuits.", Milly chimed in, "Then what he said..."
"I thought about that, but that's a bit streachy. the wetsuit i mean. Might open up some bits of skin to be exposed, someone touches me and they die." Tara sighed, for the first time frowning as she remembered something.
"Suit, not just a top," Derek said, a bit distracted by that Alex person's show. "They make them in single piece outfits. I saw it on TV once. Mythbusters. It's like those one peice pyjama's you see in the old cartoons, 'cept that they have a zipper on the front like this," he demonstrated, running a finger from his waist to his neck.
"Ah I think I know what type you're talking about.", Milly said.
"How much do they cost and do the makers ship them up here?" Tara asked. "Plus, it'll get pretty muggy wearing one of those things..."
"Still better than wearing a winter jacket and those thick pants," Derek said. What sort of power was summoning weapons? It was cool.
"Just imagine what his parents were thinking when he first manifested that power.", Milly said, "And I have no idea...but given enough time I can figure out how to shapeshift into one of those catsuits...I don't know why I just said that." Milly then covered her big mouth, nervously trying to laugh it off.
It was around this time where Alex got near them and overhead that bit and proceeded to laugh, "Why did you say that?"
"Ah someone heard that?", Milly gasped, she frantically tried to deny it. "No, that's not what I said. You must have heard wrong."
He shrugs, "Still, you seem able to shift into all kinds of inanimate objects... Interesting power, if a little awkward."
Tara blinked, then diverted her attention back to the stage, coughing a little.
Meanwhile Coach Boomer was going through the last few students.
"You have no idea just how awkward. You know my parents made me become my kid cousin's princess costume for halloween one year...said I was responsible for taking her trick or treating...I guess I did well, since she ended up getting plenty of candy."
He blinks and stares at her with a dumbfounded look on his face, "Seriously? Uhh, wow. uhh..." he proceeds to laugh it off and sits down to get out of the way so the next random student can show off her powers, "Should I feel sorry for you, or wonder whats up with your parents?"
"Don't feel sorry, I got a chance to practice.", Milly said.
"Your parents are seriously weird," Derek said.
"And yours aren't?", Milly tried to divert attention, "I called it practice time, and they saved money on stuff and sometimes clothes...It is a very strange feeling being worn..."
Alex shrugs, "I...guess? Of course, when everyone in your family has some form of 'weapon summoning' ability, that tends to be 'normal' for you. I'm actually the strange one in the family in the sense that I can summon just about anything in weapon form... more or less. Everyone else can only create a couple of weapons at most."
"Everyone in your family has powers?" Derek asked, surpised.
"For the most part, yeah. Again, they can only summon one or two weapons at most. I... think it's a bloodline thing?"
"What about your parents Derek?", Milly asked.
He shook his head. "Neither of them, or anyone they can tell in the family. Mommy's grandpa had a book with family history, and it had a weird story about a buglar spirit thing..."
"Buglar?", Milly asked, glad she managed to change the subject, "What is this thing?"
"Burglar, sorry," Derek said, correcting himself. "Something about a cat burglar that could get into any building and stuff." He shrugged. "But it's not the type of thing they can find out easy."
"What makes this cat burglar so important?",Milly asked.
"Because he's recorded as a cat," Derek said. He shrugged. "Not much, but it's all they have."
"My parents were as surprised as I was, but every generation someone has unstable molecules...my father's gave him special powers too, but I never knew what it was.", Milly said to Derek.
"Macabee Winchester", Boomer shouted.
Derek yelped and rubbed fiercely at his ears. "I wish he would stop DOING that!" he hissed.
"What! I can't hear you.", Milly said.
A girl slightly tall for her age with long legs wearing a silver hoodie with Metallica across the back stood up. Her hair was silver with a pink strand on the left side. She was sportign a little bit of odd eye make up and clearly had tattoos on her shoulders that could be seen.
"Yes?" she said in quizzical manner looking at the coach.
"Show us what you can do.", Coach Boomer said to her.
"Alright.." She lifted her hand with nothing spectacular happening, "Did you feel it? I just erased all your memories.."
Tara tilted her head at the new student. That was more then a little random. And more then a little evil to boot. She looked to the others in the hall, wondering if this was a normal part of the introduction.
She grinned, "Just kidding.." Her hand began to tiwst around as her lip ring and multipule earrings began to unclip and come just above her palm. She then casued them to alter into a large puddle of liquid metal that she made dance around. She then changed them into rings and palced them back into their proper postions.
"Effective, can be improved...Thank you, now back to your seat.", Coach Boomer said writing ever more on his clipboard.
Macabee slowly walked away a she gave alittle push to the pen in the coach's hand. She then retook her seat.
"That was neat.", MIlly said to the people she was sitting with.
"We've gone through most of you new students so far, we'll catch the rest of you after lunch. ", Boomer announced. "Report back here after the lunch period."
And with that the new students were dismissed for now.
The cafeteria was a standard school cafeteria with acceptable, sometimes questionably edible food.
Milly got her food in the lunch line. Simple fare but as long as it was edible it passed as school lunch. She neared the end of the line.
Macabee took her tray without using her hands, she loved metal trays. She looked over the options, not what she was used to. She looked over to one of the other students, spotting the shapeshifter. She seemed nice enough, but best see what crowd she was in.
Tara meanwhile looked through the food. "Ummm... there wouldn'tbe any plastic trays and utensiles, would there?" She asked a little nervously.
"Plastic's over there.", Milly pointed to the stand near the end of the line. The plastic trays were stacked in the same place as the metal trays.
She had loaded up with more then what she was used to having, but it paid to have extra food for others. She saw the one what was in winter gear, she had the ability to harvest electricity or so she thought.
"Hey, that was pretty cool what you did with that metal.", Milly said to Macabee as they passed by in the cafeteria.
"Ah its is nothing.." She smiled inwardly, "Now you can turn yourself into things...that is amazing.."
"Nah, what can I possibly do by turning into stuff, now you, you can actually take down bad guys.", Milly said to Macabee as Milly found herself an empty round table to sit at.
"I dunno about bad guys, but I have been able to stop some bullies before." She shrugged off the compliment. "I can also get free sodas out of the machine too."
"And all I can do is turn into stuff...you know I once had to become my kid cousin's princess costume for halloween...", Milly said to Macabee.
Tara snagged one of the plastic ones and smiled. "By the way, would there be time for me to go to the nurse's office or something? Or... special needs? I dunno." She shrugged, wondering if any of the teachers were around. she looked about as well.
Derek got a tray of his own, and loaded it mostly with meat products and headed over to Tara. "Special needs? Like what?"
"Well it's like I said. I can't touch anyone. I don't want anyone to be fried by accident. I mean, I'd be kick ass as a defibulator, but I don't want to have to fix problems I cause. Know what I mean?" Tara asked and looked at the seats, her usual paranoia with regards to metal making her look out for anything condutive when people were around.
"Wet suit," Derek said, sniffing, looking and listening around. It was confusing, the rabble of voices and scents, but he managed to find her and spotted her waving right after.
Milly waved to Derek.
"I know. Now I know at least. But the thing is, how much will it cost. Not to mention if the school will provide one." Tara said. Spotting Milly, she headed to the table of Milly. "By the way, Milly and.... Dalek, right?" She asked.
"Derek," he corrected. He wasn't sure were she got 'Dalek' form, but... He shrugged. "Milly's sitting over at that table. You coming?"
"You have to ask?" Tara smiled. "It's nice to meet you. I'd shake hands but well... I'm paranoid. Sorry to say."
"A costume?" Macabee's eyes went wide as a smile slowly formed, "That would be interesting.." She brought out her sketch pad and began to draw a few concepts adding metal embleshments."Oh the possabilities.."
"The...possiblities?", Milly wondered aloud between bites of mashed potatoes. "I was 8 at the time."
She looked up, letting the pen stay in place. "I dabble in art and design. Imagine a fabric you could custom make..." she then blinked a few times, "..wait that came out wrong.." She quickly grabbed a few tots to shove in he mouth.
"Well I can become more than just fabric, but...custom make...wait...are you asking me to...you...??", Milly almost sprayed her chocolate milk out her nose when she realized just what Macabee was mentioning.
Her mouth full she just waved her hand, thus causing her tray to rock back and forth spilling the creamed corn onto the table.
"You alright there um...mercu..mecc...Macabee?", Milly asked while cutting a piece of chicken.
She finally swallowed and let of a curt grin, "Look others are here.." she said happy to have her idea temporarly forgotten.
"Let me just say one thing," Derek said, setting his tray down. He looked first at Macabee and then at Milly, "the two of you are very weird."
Tara sat down carefully and looked at the other. "Macabee, right?" She said. "I'm Tara."
"Hey girls...", Milly said to them.
Macabee waved to Tara, "You can absorb electricty?" She then paused once more, "I am sorry I tend to catagorize things. I don't mean to do it with people."
"You saw?" Tara smiled. "Yeah, I can. I'm kinda hyper when i do... Don't mind me."She chuckled and slowly sped up her speech. "I'm hoping I can learn how to throw it. Yaknow like a bolt? Oh! and keep the electricity inside me of course! Maybeevenhelppeoplebybeingadefibulator!" She finally stopped for breath. "Hehe... sorry. Like I said, kinda hyper."
"See you girls actually stand a chance against bad guys...me, I'm not really able do much but turning into stuff, maybe if I turned into martial arts weapons or something...", Milly chimed in after Tara finally finished.
"Let me just say one thing," Derek said, setting his tray down (he'd turned back to pick up some napkins since he forgot the first time.) He looked first at Macabee and then at Milly. "The two of you are very weird."
"Thanks for that...I get that a lot.", Milly said to Derek.
Turning to Derek she narrowed her eyes, but in a freindly way, "In a school like this, I take that as a compliment." She then looked to Tara, "Makes sense, I can feel your iron levels from here...its like you have more then the normal amount.
"Huh..." Tara said. "Is that good or bad? Should I be worried about you ripping the iron out of my blood and using it as a platform or something?"
"I don't think she's magneto just yet.", Milly said.
"Wait, you can do that?" Derek asked Macabee. "That's creepy..."
Macabee giggled to herself, "It isn't bad, just means you are more prone to hyperactivty and mood swings. No I can't pull metal out of small sources like that. I really need to be able to touch it or "feel" it strongly." She looked to Derek, "Why so creepy? Do you have any issues I should know about?"
"If you say so, Magneta." Tara said teasing.
She huffed, "I actually perfer Mercury.." She motion to the try letting it split into two peices.
"You people spend way too much time thinking about morbid things," Derek said, his mouth filled with chicken.
"It was in a movie!" Tara countered as though that was supposed to explain everything. "Xmen three!"
"So Tara is a movie buff, Derek likes privacy, and Milly..your a free spirit?" she guessed.
"Comic too! Oh and gamer. And watcher! And reader!" Tara added.
"What makes you think I like privacy?" Derek asked after a swallow. "And that was X2..."
"Really...? Huh... thought for sure it was 3... Been a while since I them. My bad. Still was in a movie so HA!" She stuck her tonge out at Derek.
//http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbTyTyizz1s X2. I might not watch many movies, but I do remember what I do.
//but magneto could only do it after mystique injected the guard with more iron...
"What do you mean by free spirit?", Milly asked, "I mean I lost most of my dignity, the daythose kids I was babysitting caught me when I was stuck as an inner tube, but I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a free spirit."
She shrugged, "Just testing out the slab. Sometimes you need to guess that art will look like before you start. I dunno just guesses. If someone can be anything, they must have a creative mind." Her hand moved to peice the tray back together. "Derek you can teleport?"
Derek down some milk and then nodded as he swallowed. "Uh-huh. Not all that far, but yeah..."
"I suppose you're right...you know maybe later we can discuss your fashion designs.", Milly giggled.
She giggled to herself, "Looks like we are the cool table...still you can reapper somewhere." She looked to Milly only her makeup saved her from a flash of red on her cheeks, "..I guess we could manage a session or two. Couldn't hurt right?" Moving to her hasbrowns she places her hand to the tray as a portion became a fork for her with a pretty kick ass design.
"Hey, not so fast...thought that design looks neat.", Milly sighed.
"Weiirr-eerd," Derek said, waving a kitchen bone.
"Dont lie Derek.." she took a mouth full then spoke, "..you'd love to watch.."
Milly facepalmed, "You don't have to be there Derek."
"Mind if I call you Dalek?" Tara asked randomly, her hyperactivity showing.
"Dalek, that's a good one.", Milly said.
"Whatt'zaa Dalek?" Derek asked, moving away from the sudden onset girl talk syndrome. He should have picked a table with more guys at it...
"OHHHH MY GOD!" Tara suddenly yelled. "Ohhh You're going to find out. On weekends and stuff, you're watching DoctorWhoOkay?Great! You'llloveit!" She was starting to speak really fast again.
"Oh..." Macabee paused, "I'm sorry. I thought you like girls..there was a pretty hunky rock-golem guy I bet I could set you up with.." She gave a shit-eating grin to Derek then looked to Tara, "I think I caught some of that..."
Derek blinked and choked on his food. He was flustered now, between Tara yelling in his ears and Macabee, his head a spinning again, and he felt that feeling again, but he managed to hold it down. "Okay... what?"
Macabee watched as Derek went quiet a moment, "Hey I was just kidding. I'm sorry I have an older sister that gives me crap all the time. I'm just used to it." She tired to look him in the eyes, "We are friends now right?"
"Yep!" Tara said smileing, looking at her nearby water bottle. "To friends?" She asked, lifting it, wondering if anyone else had beverages to hit together.
"Friends!", Milly joined in raising her carton of chocolate milk.
Derek glared at her for a moment, then sighed and shrugged hopelessly. "Sure I guess."
"Lets do this right," Macabee said. She placed her hands to the metal tray casuing it to liquify then spread the puddle into four peices. She then focused and tried to make them form into crude shot glasses. (Do I need a check? Can I try to alter Tara's to lead?)
//mew? Your ruling? mew away for a moment
//*picks a bit of duckunny out of his teeth* He'll be out again in a couple days.
//*mew bursts forth from grey's stomach, the ninja duck carries a katana and *
//*Is friggen amazed at how Mew burst out of Grey's stomach when he ate mew...*\
//anyway I'd say do a power check
Tara adjusted the grip on her water bottle, just so she wouldn't fry Macabee.
"Why don't you just wear gloves?" Derek asked. "And don't you need wine or something for that?"
Tara waved her gloved hand in front of Derek's face. Winter glove of course."Wooooooo! that's what this is!" she teased. "And well... We're all underage. This has to suffice."
"I have chocolate milk.", Milly offered.
"I could try and make some lead gloves, it doesn't conduct alot of voltage.." Macabee offered.
"But that'll lead to lead poisoning..." Tara frowned. "Can you do something... I dunno like carbon fibre?"
"Um... doesn't that channel electricity better?" Derek asked.
Macabee frowned, "I don't think I can make somthing quite that complex yet..and I can't alter tin at all."
"Oh..." Tara said. "Well wetsuit it is." Tara still clinked her water bottle against the other's drinks then went to eat.
"We suggested wetsuit from the beginning.", Milly said to Tara clinking her milk carton with the others.
Derek clinked a chicken leg instead.
"Well I still need to find out how I'm gonna get one." Tara said after swollowing a mouthfull of food.
"I told you how...but that's a very bad idea", Milly said, "I'd suggest online order as a secondary solution...maybe a cosplay shop would have something you need as well."
"Ummm... Yeah." Tara said. "Yaknow, I think I'll check out special needs or something." She said. "I'll see ya around, yeah?" She smiled. "Great!" She said not giving anyone a chance to reply. That done, she headed up with her food to snack along the way. She walked through the halls, wondering where the regetraar's office was.
"I see I scared another one off...", Milly sighed, dejected.
"You scare people a lot?" Derek asked. He used to, but he eventually got over it.
"People outside the family weren't expected to know about my shapeshifting talents...which made things awkward sometimes....Let's discuss something else"
"How old are you?" Derek asked.
"Thirteen, and you?", Milly said to Derek.
"Same, actually," Derek said. Not really all that surprising, when he thought about it. "When's your birthday?"
"Weird I am the oldest? Im 14 and a quarter and my birthday is March 20th." Macabee grinned, "What about you?" Now away from her thoughts.
"October 15th, you Derek?", Milly said to them.
"Halloween," Derek admitted, just before taking another bite of food.
"So what is your favoriate candy Trick or Treat..?" She asked.
"... don't like candy," Derek muttered into his milk.
"Since my powers manifested, I've been the costume not the trick or treater, but hey, mom and dad let me decide the costume and my cousins are forced to share their candy with me afterwards so it all works out in the end."
"What is the coolest thing you can turn into?" She asked then looked to Derek, "..how far can you "travel"?"
"I really haven't figured that out...recently I've found dresses to be fun practice. Clothing just feels easier to shift into now...but coolest...ah....maybe the year I was a sailor moon costume...I was proud of myself for getting that one right."
"Just two hundred meters," Derek said. "We measured it at a field one night."
"Do both of your families know about your powers?" she asked knowing that Milly's did.
"Mom started the costume tradition when I was nine...and Dad also has unstable molecule powers...so yes.", Milly said to them.
"Mine started showing up when I was about five, so yes," Derek said, not really realizing he was echoing Milly.

Meanwhile with Tara?
As Tara nibbled on her food, she looked through the halls, wondering if she could find anything. She sighed, wondering where it was. Trophy cases were her first point of reference. Awards the school had were usually promantly displayed in front of the office. She looked for those first. "Hello?" She called out.
A sophomore appeared from behind the counter. She had braces and frizzy hair, she clutched a stack of papers which she placed on the not particularly organized desk. "Jello, how may I help you?", she said. "I'm Jen, sorry about the mess, still organizing student health records for the new year"
"Hi!" Tara said. "I'm looking for special needs! Or... anything really. Can you help me please?"
"What do you need help with miss....what's your name?", she asked.
"Tara Raiden!" She replied. "Well... I was looking for someone that could help megeta wetsuit or something... I have a bit of a problem. I can take in electricity, but if i touch anyone they get fried and well..." she guestured to her winter gear. "This is really hot..."
"I don't think we have wetsuits on such short notice, megeta?, but I think we may have a spare pair of rubber gloves, they don't conduct, it would at least solve one problem.", Jen suggested.
"That'll work for now. But would you be able to help me get one" A wetsuit that is. I can wait on it if I need to." Tara replied smiling. "And pay for it if need be!" She added. "Prefferably something that can breath too..."
"Whoah, let's not get ahead of ourselves...I'll see if I can get you the gloves, but the wetsuit will take a while and I don't beleive it's covered under the student health plan.", Jen said to Tara.
"Hehe... Sorry. I get kinda hyper after draining electricity... And in general." Tara said fidgeting with her fingers. "Well... I'll pay for it if I have to."
"I can imagine.", Jen said. "If you need an appointment with the school nurse in the future you can ask me...oh right...gloves... I'll be back.", she said before she teleported away.
Tara smiled. "Okay!" she said happily and thought about what she might need the nurse for besides the obvious training accidents.
Sounds of boxes being checked and general rummaging could be heard from the back room. In a couple minutes Jen had returned with a pair of black rubber gloves. "See if these fit", she said to Tara, laying the gloves on the counter.
Tara nodded, removing her winter gloves and put the rubber ones on. "Huh... Yeah, these look like they fit. "Huh... Nice." She said smiling. They weren't exactly her favrioute colour, but they still would be more then enough. "Thanks! and nice to meet you Jen!"
"Now I have to get back to inventory checking, so I'm sorry but you should be on your way now.", Jen said with a smile.
Tara smiled and went back to the lunchroom wondering if her new friends were still there.
"Hey guys!" Tara said happily. "I'm back!" she waved eagerly, skipping along.
"Someone's in a good mood.", Milly said to Tara.
Macabee looked over tiliting her head, "Did someone ask you out?"
"Not as such." Tara said then showed off her gloved hands. "Non condutive, no overheating on my little fingers!" She said happily.
"So you switched to gloves?" Derek asked with a slight smile.
"For now. And i'll get a wetsuit eventually!" Tara said happily. "Can't wait!"
"Can you not control the release yet and more importantly, can you charge phones?" she joked.
"No, and maybe... Might overload the battery though." Tara admitted. "I just got here."
"We've all got a long way to go I'd say.", Milly said, "But that's great Tara."
Macabee nodded along, "I can't wait till we can control our powers to a great degree. Can you imagine what would could do?"
"I'm hoping to be like my hero." Tara smiled. "Controlling the power of the storm with the modern lifeblood of electricity. Only using it for good."
"Right now I'm not so ambitious, but I'd like to be able to use my gifts for good, and if some crimefighitng can be thrown in there then even better...", Milly said to them, cracking a small smile.
"Crimefighting sounds good, fame too.."she said in a gleeful tone.
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves...just curious though..if I turned into something metal...would your metal controlling power work on my shifted form.", Milly wondered aloud.
Macabee hesitated, "I don't know...it might feel too great if I could.."
"Feel too great?", Milly wondered.
Pretty much the entire time since the break for lunch, Phoebe had been wandering aimlessly around the place examining pretty much everything with razor sharp detail, looking at all the food and drinks -curiously not eating anything- and doing a hell of a lot of people-watching. This was like a whole other world for her, things were changing awfully quick for her poor little mind.
"Okay... everything your conversations start, they go to really weird places," Derek pointed out to Milly and Macabee from the other side of the table.
"I'll try to stop...sorry Derek.", Milly said. "We're not really going to stop are we.", she whispered to Macabee.
"I can hear you, you know," Derek yawned.
"No we aren't" she whispered back a little too loudly.
"Guess my apology was insincere then.", Milly said.
//we may continue this part
//grey ya posting?
//and so did I...
"Phoebe Smith!", Coach Boomer shouted.
With militaristic efficiency, the girl in question shot up and swiftly rushed to the stage and stood at the ready next to the coach, except it was only then she realized she was supposed to be doing something -she couldn't exactly copy what the last person did without touching them to copy what they could do, so she had a slight issue.
After a moment of looking lost and confused, staring fretfully at the floor looking like she was thinking legendarily hard about what she was supposed to do, eventually she brightened up like a light bulb turned on in her head, her form quivered and warped, twisting and shaping around until a fairly average man in lab coat stood before them, and began pacing the stage and talking in a man's voice.
"Okay Phoebe, now when you're at the school they're going to have a little power presentation where all the new students get to show what they can do; I think you should just stick with showing your mimicking ability -attempting to explain your healing capability or that you're a primordial blob we found on the bottom of the ocean is probably a little too complicated for a simple orientation," the scientist said with with a nonsensical, good humored laugh, moving over to pat an imaginary Phoebe on the head, "So yeah, just pat someone on the shoulder or something and copy their appearance, try using their ability -they'll get the gist of it."
And with that, the scientist's form rippled away into the primordial blob in the form of a girl that was Phoebe's chosen casual appearance -a strange mix of ocean greens and blues with a swirl of deep purple and hints of a fiery orange laced about in the core.
She looked up at the coach with meek hopefulness, wanting to know whether she had done good as she was still a little confused about what she was supposed to be doing.
"Okay...that was interesting...So yeah, just pat someone on the shoulder and copy thier ability then.", Coach Boomer said to her. What were the chances this girl actually was primidorial ooze.
Phoebe nodded and some of her hair mass parted to reach over and boop the Coach's shoulder, and shortly afterwards there were two Coach's standing on the stage, though the Phoebe-Coach was repeating some of the previous dialogue that Coach had said earlier -in his magnified voice no less.
"Very Interesting...Now back to your seat...and return to normal.", Boomer said,
With much obedience, Phoebe returned to her primordial girl form and skipped back to her seat without another word.
Macabee looked to Milly, "Are your powers like that?"
"I can't turn into people, Macabee...", Milly sighed.
"You want to turn into other people?" Derek asked.
"I can't turn into other people.", Milly corrected.
Alex managed to log(log on?) on just as soon as the mimic girl thing went back to his, now her seat. So, shapeshifter? Okay then.
//Fen likes the fourth wall. Not sure why he doesn't take it as a super sense of feature.
//he likes the fourth wall... In bed. :3
//Don't remind me... because that was one of the best nights ever. :P
"Hey, at least you get to turn into a cat Derek.", Milly said.
"I can teleport too," Derek pointed out.
"I wouldn't mind turning into things," Tara added. "But right now, I'd be happy with just not frying everything I touch."
"Make some eggs then," Derek said. "Can you cook?"
"I like to think i can," Tara said. "Only ever made simple stuff really, but no one's died or been sick!"
"Sure you say that now, you might change your mind after the first few halloweens.", Milly said.
Tara chuckled. "I like halloween though. Last year, i went as a werewolf." She smiled. "Made myself seem big too with a little bit of electricity. Puffed up the fur."
"Sounds interesting, you could say I went as sailor moon, well as a sailor moon costume on my kid cousin.", Milly said to Tara. "If only there was a way to help you understand what that was like."
Alex merely grinned, "Halloween is pretty easy for me; just grab an outfit and conjure up a fake weapon... however, last year's theme I pulled the 'short straw' and had to go as Sephiroth. You know how long his sword is?? How he uses that in combat is beyond me." He proceeds to sigh as he remembers how hard it was to NOT poke someone's eye out with that thing, fake weapon or not.
"Last Halloween wasn't great for me..." Derek said, smiling sheepishly. "Had a... mishap."
Tara tilted her head. "What happened? Did someone deploy a catnip bomb?" She teased.
Milly turned to Derek, "Yes, what happened?"
Alex grins, "Tell us!"
"Oh a mishap..I have had those before...what did happen?" Macabee asked.
"Don't wanna talk about it," Derek said.
"Awwwww..." Tara replied, though she could understand why. She had a skeleton or two in her closet as well.
Power placement was wrapped up in about ten or so minutes. Boomer turned on the projected which had a list of dorm room assignemnts and announced for students to find thier roommate and report to the courtyard. Don't worry, your luggage has already been transferred to your room.
Phoebe and Tara
Milly and Macabee
Alex and Derek
//or 2 rooms of 4 students each
Tara looked around for where this 'Pheobe' was, but didn't see her. Oh well, they'd meet soon enough. "Was Phoebe around for the power showoff stuff?" she asked.
"Hey Macabee, we're roommates.", Milly said cheerfully.
A sly grin crossed her face, "Looks that way. I have a tone of things for you to read in my suitcase.."
"What sorts of things?", Milly asked, with some concern.
Ever one to follow orders easily, Phoebe bounced along to the room assignments and spent an unnaturally long time attempting to read the funny symbols, slowly translating them and correlating the information she'd collected thus far to figure out who her 'roommate' was.
So she went over and booped Tara on the shoulder, copying her. (moved)
"Nothing too bad, just some books and magazines from my older sister." she gave her a quick wink.
I claim this section for the boys. *places flag*
"Alex, I guess you are my room mate," Derek grinned at Alex, his tail curling behind him.
Alex found it to be a bit interesting how his new friends are all roommates with each other (not including this 'Phoebe' person), but decides to smile it off, "Looks like it. I can already tell this year is going to be fun!" On a side note, he didn't quite noticed the tail behind him.
"So, you know were the room is?" Derek asked.
Alex shrugs, "Kinda, just find the dorms and look for the room number. Simple enough."
"Of course, wander around the place like a lost kitten... great plan," Derek said, giving Alex a dope slap. "Let's just go find an RA or something."
Alex laughs, "But it'll be so much fun! ...Meh, we're supposed to go to the courtyard anyways, there should be one of those there."
"I could use a nap, so hurry up," Derek said, giving Alex a few hearty shoves in the right direction. "And don't make a mess of it..."
Alex promptly walks to the courtyard, "Make a mess of what?"
"Quick march," Derek instructed, pushing Derek toward an RA he spotted. "Hey! RA... person!"
A tired looking older student turned to face him. "Oh...hey there little dude.", he said in a tired voice. He was black and wore a jacket, he had facial hair and wore a wool hat that almost shrouded his eyes. You could swear you could also see ice crystals around him.
"Hi," Derek said, a cheerful smile and his tail swaying slowly. "I'm Derek, this is Alex."
"Hey there, I'm Vincent but you can call me Chill. Was there something I could help you dudes with?", he asked.
"Just looking for our room," Derek said, punching Alex on the shoulder.
"Well you're in the right place dudes, just wait for your RA to lead you to your room.", Vincent said.
//scroll down to about 873 grey!
//926 Fen. We got our room.
//just had to fill in the description..
//he had a tail this whole time??
//Yes... mentioned it a few times..,

IC Still Day 1
================================Act 2 Roomies======================
Some boring exposition
Once in the courtyard Resident Advisors were there to lead people to thier dorms. There were several dormitories in the basement levels of the campus. The flying island the school was on was itself hollow and dormitories were built into the structure. And the students were taking glass elevators. The internal structure was built something like a mall. Each section of dorms had a designation code which was inputted in the control panel of the glass elevator and you were taken straight there.
The gang was placed on the same elevator. Where the Resident Advisor pressed the Code
What are the designations?
Section A - Z Level 1-10 Room Number 1-100
1d26, 1d10, 1d100=, ,
B9 Room # 87 for Milly/Macabee
B9 Room # 88 for Tara/Phoebe
B10 Room #80 for Derek/Alex
"What sort of books?", Milly wondered as the two walked to the courtyard.
"Nothing too bad, just some items of intrest for a budding young woman." She winked. Her eyes looked about the courtryard as she kept her head sationary. "Do you have any pericings?"
"Nope, and given my power, I try to keep my outfits simple.", Milly said to Macabee, "Maybe tonight we can revisit those sketches, I thought it over and it might be fun."
She nodded quickly, " Sure..."
"What were the magazines?", Milly asked, "Why so eager to get these to me."
"Just some Cozmos, Tattoo magazines, and some others...." She laughed, "..you will see.."
"Not interested in tatoos Mac.", Milly said to them.
She huffed, "It is just self expression and it is permanent! Plus I can make them myself!"
"Still not interested in tatoos...", Milly said to Macabee. "Don't worry, I'm sure we'll find something in common."
"We are teenage girls, of course we have somthing in common!" Macabee excliamed throwing her arm around her new friend, "Maybe I can help with your make up..."
"Again, I try to keep things simple, makeup and shapeshifting don't mix well.", Milly said to her placing her hand on Macabee's shoulder.
Macabee rolled her eyes, "Well what about boys? How many dates have you been on?"
"I've never kissed a boy if that's what you're getting at....you know how dates get sometimes, only been on maybe 3 dates, scared off the first one when I turned into a chair, the second in the form of a heart shaped box, and the third well, he was nice but it didn't really work out.", Milly sighed.
"Really?" She frowned as they came closer to their room, "I had a boyfriend he was sixteen and he drove a mustang.." that small smile crossed her face again.
//I just make up everything...if I offend anyone through the use of stereotypes I'm sorry
B9 Room 87
"Number 87, this must be the place.", Milly said opening the door. The two entered. It was a fairly simple room, white walls wooden closets, one for each of them. And two beds placed against the back corners of the room. One for each corner with some space between them. A door to their left would lead to the bathroom, while the one to their right led to a study room with 4 desks that was shared with Room 88. Their luggage was already placed against the wall.
"Nice place they got here.", Milly said to Macabee.
Macabee nodded in place, "Not too bad. Plenty of metal about for a creative outlet. Do you mind if I alter the door nobs and my bedframe?" She motioned to her metal suticase as it lifted itself up..she struggled a moment, "I packed a little heavy..."
"Pretty sure they don't want you damaging the room itself.", Milly said, "ANd what did you bring anyway?" Milly was hanging up her clothes, a weeks worth of t-shirts, skirts, about 5 plain colored dresses, panties, and some shorts and pants, in addition to one swimsuit.
"Oh just a bit of this and a bit of that.." she began to arrange her rings and earings and nose rings into a metal jewlery box what had an engraving on it.
"You sure are dedicated.", Milly said placing her personal hygeine products in the bathroom along with her towel. She exited and began arranging her books and pictures on her shelf and dresser. "Wait...was that a nose ring?", Milly asked, plopping down on her bed, the one to the left.
"Dedicated?" She asked as she began to pull out hoodies, jackets and a few tops most involving arts and bands. "You mean the body art?" Her eyes flicked over to her jewlery box then back to her suitcase as she continued to rummage about pulling a few picture frames that looked to have been custom made.
//artistic designs I presume...
"Yeah, the...body art.", Milly said, trying out the term on her tongue. Maybe she even had a tongue ring. Milly heard of that once. "Where'd you get those picture frames, they're pretty."
"Oh my father studied in africa on a few tribes, he learn of "the shaman way" or some sort. He was the one that actually turned me onto it. The woman their get their first nose ring when..well they become a woman. And they get a tattoo for every great conquest." She motioned to her now bare shoulder as she pulled the hoodie down. She then looked to the frames, "You like them? They are some of my first work.."
//Oh My.... Every Conquest...indeed!
"I do, it's rather artistic of you.", Milly said, "And that stuff about africa is pretty neat."
"I love art, I live for it really or did before..."She smiled, "Yea dad was off in Africa and mom teaches art at the University. I was taught to be very expressive."
"You did art until what happened?", Milly asked. "Dad ran a designer clothing store, and mom mostly stayed at home while doing volunteer work on the side...I was expected to help out around the house, and when it happened well...let's just say my parents are sometimes cheap."
Macabee raised an eyebrow, "That is a little different. But this is a no judgement zone. You can let your freak flag fly here Milly." She giggled to herself then became a little somber, "I stopped art for a little while when Mom had her stroke. I tried to help her around the house. Ruby didn't help much after the stroke, she kinda jetted off to California." She huffed, "But me and Dad helped her through she can use her left side alright now...feed herself. I helped make a moveable brace for her other side...then I got this tattoo.."
"Wow, I feel luckier that my parents are still healthy.", Milly said, "But glad to hear she recovered, and is Ruby your sister?"
"Thank you.." she hide a tear, "..yea she is my older sister. She showed powers before the..trouble.. but." She shrugged, "..I dunno I feel lucky. I have overcome somthing others havn't I feel stronger for it.. I think maybe that is way the force upstairs gave me my powers.."
"I'm not entirely sure if I believe in the force upstairs...", Milly said, "But good on you...sorry I don't know what to say..." Milly sighed, she couldn't really help, but she sat next to Macabee on the bed and placed one hand on her shoulder. "There there."
Macabee looked over and gave her a hug, " Thank you." She patted her new friend's back, "That is why I love art again, Mom told be to never stop being creative..."
"My mom tells me that each year when she asks me to turn into a costume...Or other things on occasion.", Milly said trying to cheer Macabee up, "Hey, check this out...", Milly said, she then shaped into a large sheet of square paper, and in time she had folded herself into a paper crane.
Macabee nearly jumped as she saw what happened, "That is amazing! You can still move when you change?" She studied the design, "Does it hurt?" She moved to grab a ball bearing from her suitcase and liquified it then concentrated to copy the form. (check needed?)
//A power check + a knowledge Art check lets see 1d20+4+10=18
"No, folding doesn't hurt one bit...and interestingly the more complex the form the less I can move on my own. For instance, I can't move a bit now that I've folded up.", Milly said, "And very nice, I can see the resemblance."
"Still a weak copy, you can make art of yourself. All I can do is shape metal and paint. I can tattoo myself, but wow that is an amazing power Milly!" She moved to pick up the crane that was now Milly, "Is it ok if I pick you up?"
"I guess that would be alright.", Milly said. By now Macabee probably noticed that Milly's clothes were lying on the bed without Milly in them.
Macabee looked down to where Milly had altered, "Uh Mill...are you um..naked?" She turned the crane to inspect the detail with a slightly blushed face.
"I had hoped you wouldn't say that.", Milly griped, "My transformations have little to do with my normal form, but hey...", Milly was about to yell for Macabee to put her down. "Pull my tail.", she ended up saying instead.
She quickly obliged, doing just so.
When the crane's tail was pulled down, the wings began to flap. Milly was excited, origami was one of her hobbies as a kid and folding herself in paper form taught her alot about the limits of her own powers.
Macabee just luaghed, "That is pretty wild." She moved to set the crane down on Milly's bed. "Should I go to the bathroom while you change?"
"Actually can you just set me where my clothes are.", Milly asked.
The girl in the Metallica hoodie placed the paper crane down on the pile of clothes, "Should I close my eyes?" Her tone slightly excited and nervious.
//technically it's a free action for her to shift back and another free action to get dressed
"Yes please.", Milly said. When Macabee closed her eyes. She quickly shifted back and using her special techniques she was once again dressed within seconds. "Alright you can open your eyes now.", she said to Macabee.
Macabee leaned forward and asked curiously, "Can you feel things when you change?"
"I could feel your touch, I can sort of see around me, and I can hear just fine.", Milly explained.
"So you could turn into a badge or a cellphone and be the best spy ever!" she exclaimed.
"I don't think I can do something as complicated as a cellphone...badge is still a maybe.", Milly said excitedly.
Macabee lifted the metal crane with power and tried to move it over to Milly, "See you have a power that can be super useful. You could gather information so no one would have to fight at all!" She spun the metal crane around, "Here, I want you to have this."
Milly caught the metal crane. She placed it on the dresser next to her alarm clock. "Thank you, Mac...I can call you Mac right?", she said to her, "And I don't think they'll need us until tomorrow.", MIlly said pointing to her crumpled orientation schedule, "You mentioned the benefits of being custom made fabric...I'm more willing now that I know you better."
"I was wondering..if I wore two shirts and two pares of shorts..could I use you for a jacket or the like and sneak you places?" She then rubbed the back of her neck, "My first thought was to have you model as clothing, then I could add metal work. Then we offer the idea to a design company...just an idea.."
"What sort of clothing...and is this about sneaking me places, or you getting to have a new jacket? I find dresses easier to morph actually...strange huh.", Milly said to clarify things.
She shrugged, "Would it be wierd if I wore you around?" She coughed, "I don't know about a long dress, but I could go for a cool skull and bone's short dress."
"And I can do short or long dresses, remember I said I did a sailor moon costume once, that included a miniskirt.", Milly said, "Wore me around how?", Milly asked blushing at the thought, "Usually only family would ask me to do that."
"Well" she leaned forward "We are friends, you have seen some of Lady Gaga's dresses right? You could blow those away and then I could use metal to embealish..but that is only if you are alright with it." She shrugged.
"I always did like to look pretty...", Miilly said dreamily, "Maybe just together in the dorm, I'm worried what the other students would think....sure let's do it!", Milly finally said to Macabee, she hugged her friend in joy.
"We are going to be kick ass!" she said in thrilled voice.
"Yeah.", Milly said equally excited, but slightly apprehensive about the idea, "Wait, did you want to start this afternoon?"
"We can pause for now, start tomorrow maybe?" She looked to her friend, "Besides I want to see what everyone is wearing.. call me vain."
"I still need to get used to your measurements and you need to get used to my clothing forms, before this point I've only turned into stuff for younger children, and tomorrow classes start, we'll have a lot more on our minds then...better to figure out if this will work now rather than later.", Milly said to Macabee.
"Alright then, go ahead measure me!" She chuckled.
"A short dress right?", Milly confirmed for herself before moving to her bed and shifting. She shrunk a little and then formed into black nylon fabric that then molded itself into a short dress that would probably fit Milly herself, though a tad bigger, she was black with a skull and crossbones emblem on the chest. "Now for the most awkward part...sizing...I can't believe I'm saying this...try me on.", Milly said, holding still, experience caused her to fall limp onto the bed.
Macabee actually laughed aloud, "You want me to strip to my bra and panties?" She began to pick up what was now Milly.
Milly giggled, then grew into laughter, the laughter faded into seriousness. "Yes.", MIlly said, "There's no shame for me anymore, I was worn by my brothers and sisters after all, never liked those twerps...at least I was given allowance for that." Her sister treated her nicer than her brothers did, which was a relief.
Macabee took off her hoodie and dropped her white jeans with a flick of her wrist as the belt fell to the floor. She reveal her rolling stone underwear and a lacey bra that had a small rinestones. Two tattoos on her shoulders shown through that ran nearly to her elbows. Her skin had a slight silver tone to it. she slid her on, "How...do I look?"
"You're pretty cute yourself...I've felt myself to be plain normally...as dresses go, how do I look?", Milly asked.
"Well I might be biased, but I think you look amazing!" She twirled, "Its wierd you are so light!"
"Weird, that's probably the understatement of the day.", Milly said, "There's a mirror in the bathroom, I'd like to see how I look on you.", Milly giggled a little.
Macabee obliged, moving to the mirror. Flicking on the light she danced about. "Can you see?"
"Hold still, you're making me dizzy.", Milly said.
"Woops! Sorry.."Mac said finally holding still.
"I look amazing like this...not squeezing too hard or anything?...wow...we do look good together.", MIlly said in wonderment, "Simply wonderful..."
"If you wanted, you could be a little tighter around the chest maybe just a little shorter on the legs. If I am going to be awkward tall, I might as well show off my legs." she suggested.
"You have a lovely pair Mac.", Milly said squeezing a little at the chest and reduced her skirt length so that she barely covered Macabee's panties, adjusting in the mirror until she was happy with the look. "Wow you're sexy...I mean we're sexy...", MIlly laughed.
"Agreed! We are a knock out pair! Hah wonder if we could do a double date?" She grinned showing off her legs.
"Wouldn't be much, just your date and I'm the dress...still something to consider.", Milly said to Macabee, "You're easier to shapeshift for than my cousins, And I kinda enjoy being your dress...can I stay like this for a bit longer?"
"Sure, I don't have anything this sexy in my closet." She toyed with an idea, "Do you think I could try adding some metal designs on the chest? I don't want to hurt you.."
"Just be careful with the pins and make sure to remove the metal bits before I change back please.", Milly said cheerfully.
She began to mold some ideas in her head, but she paused. "I better not just yet. Not sure if I should. Do you think it is ok?"
"On second thought, let's not just yet...", Milly giggled. "Just think, what would Tara or any of the other girls say if they saw us now."
"They would be so jealous!" She said in a sure tone.
"Maybe we should go show them...", Milly joked to Macabee.
"I'm cool if you are.." Macabee said without missing a beat.
"I lost all of my dignity long ago, I think they are past the study room...let's do it.", Milly said to Macabee.
Macabee touched the handle that led to the common study room, altering it into a crane as she did. Looking around she began to take in the room.
"Not bad, spacious, this can work...show time!", Milly said to Macabee.
"We should make some food soon, how do we contact the others. Are they in there?"
"Wasn't there a cafeteria...", Milly said, "Well someone's in there...you in?", Milly asked,.
Macabee went to knock on the door, "Sure..wonder how they will react.." she whispered to her chest.
"We'll see...", Milly whispered back, "It's kinda funny, heck, all I really expected today was to figure out your size for future designs...well let's go.", Milly whispered back.
Inside Tara's Room
Ever one to follow orders easily, Phoebe bounced along to the room assignments and spent an unnaturally long time attempting to read the funny symbols, slowly translating them and correlating the information she'd collected thus far to figure out who her 'roommate' was. So she went over and booped Tara on the shoulder, copying her.
Tara yelped, thankful she was wearing some heavy winter clothing and turned sharply. "Ahh! Where'dyoucomefromdon'ttouchme!" she said hurridly.
Phoebe-Tara acted like pretty much a perfect mirror to the real Tara, movements and words and all.
Tara moved to the left, seeing her real life mirror follow it. She moved left, seeing her mirror follow. "Well... This is new."
Phoebe-Tara broke off the mirror act in regards to movement for a moment to be able to wave a little excitedly at Tara, her way of saying hello.
"YEEK!" Tara yelped and jumped back, not expecting that. "Ummm... Hi!" She waved back. "My name's Tara."
"YEEK!" Phoebe yelped and jumped back, "Ummm... Hi!" Phoebe waved again, "My name's Tara... Phoebe..."
Suddenly the Phoebe-Tara was confused again for a moment, shaking her head, "Phoebe," she said with a confident nod.
"Oh so you're the roomie!" Tara smiled. "Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you!" Phoebe echoed in Tara's voice, though she was earnest, she just didn't entirely know how to speak properly. She paused for a moment to look at herself -effectively Tara, poking the gloves a little in confusion.
Tara on pure reflex retracted her arms, holding them firmly behind her back. "Notouchies!" She said in a hurry. "You'll die if you do!" She said genuinly concerned.
Phoebe jumped back in alarm, eyes wide and quite lost as to what was wrong, further demonstrating confusion after the surprise with an utterly perplexed expression, cocking her head to one side.
"Dead." Tara said and went to the bed then stopped moving, even breathing for a couple of seconds before getting back up. "Dead. Not alive. Bad." Tara said slowly. "Do you... speak much English?"
After scratching her head a little and shifting back to her primordial girl form, Phoebe shrugged helplessly, a face of thought for a moment before attempting to speak -though apparently in a scientist's voice again.
"The life form seems to be quite simple, even though she can copy damn near everything, it's like she doesn't quite understand it," Phoebe recited.
"So that's a no..." Tara said then blinked seeing the primordial form. "Wow... Ummm that's new." She said. "Suppose I gotta teach you some things too, huh?" She said and headed into the bathroom thinking it was the kitchen only to find there wasn't one. "Huh... There goes that plan..." She muttered. "Well there's still other things here." She said going over some of the things in *censored* what little there was.
//should she stumble into macabee in the study room now?
//yellow would she try to enter the study room?
Like a little lost cub, Phoebe meekly followed Tara, mimicking her footsteps and most of her movements, often attempting to lean around to look at what she was doing.
Tara did her best to explain the hazards of a kitchen though without any real feedback, she wasn't sure how she was doing. Finally, she stopped and looked at Phoebe. "Are you understanding any of this?" She asked.
Phoebe shook her head with a frown, looking around the room as though trying to find the answer and shrinking a little as she lost.
"Oh..." Tara said as she made a face. "Huh...Well this is going to be a little bit tricky. Oh I know." Tara said and started looking for a pen. The Alphebet. That was easy. Heading into the living room once again, Tara found a pen and began writing the alphebet down. She'd move on to shape and pattern recognizing next she supposed.
Remembering all the writing equipment in her bag the scientists had set her up with, Phoebe had yet again copied Tara, mimicking her hand movements and writing the alphabet on her notebook at the same time.
"Good," Tara smiled reassuringly. "Good." She began reciting the letters slowly, pointing to each one and enunieating the sounds for each one.
And still, Phoebe mimicked Tara's voice and copied everything she said and did, almost like Phoebe was trying to teach Tara at the same time.
Tara smiled, encouragingly, still going on with her attempts at teaching. She thought for the most part that it was going well.
Unfortunately it was just as likely that Phoebe was mimicking with no real knowledge of what any of it meant, as much as she was always attempting to puzzle things together.
Tara finally stopped for a bit of a break and relaxed on the sofa, far away from Phoebe. "I think we made some progress, by the way." She said.
Phoebe was sort of still sitting there staring at her notebook covered in mimicked scrawlings, looking puzzled and turning the book about as though the symbols would make more sense upside-down or something. Out of curiosity she attempted to scrawl a few more of those symbols together like she'd seen in some other sources of text, attempting to puzzle it all out.
Tara looked over and looked at the other woman's notebook. "Huh? Whatcha got there?"
"Alphabet," Phoebe said with only slight uncertainty, though her page had a dozen butchered words written in all-too-familiar handwriting, as she was copying the letters and putting them next to one another in no particular order.
"Do you think they are in there Mill?" Macabee asked as she rapped on the door once more.
"Duh...", Milly whispered, "Careful, don't want them to know it's me just yet."
Tara looked up and to the door. "wonder who that is..." She said and got up. She looked at the door then opened it a little to see who was there. "Hello?"
"It's just me Tara," Macabee said in her deepest darkest voice possible.
Tara blinked but opened the door to see Macabee wearing something. "Hey there. Come in!" She smiled backing off sharply to clear the way.
Phoebe had looked up momentarily to look at who arrived, offering them a quick vigorous wave before attempting to puzzle out this 'Alphabet' some more. Words and letters seemed to be everywhere in this world, it seemed like a good idea to know what they meant.
Milly remained limp and silent, she had lots of practice with her siblings and cousins. She was excited, this was the first time she was worn by a friend. It would be fun to see what kind of designs Macabee came up with.
Mac looked in, "Well know, we have just about the same digs it looks like..."
"Pretty much. Student houses are pretty... meh from what I understand." Tara said. "So, what brings you to this school?"
"Well.. that is a good question.." She paused, "..I guess to try and control my powers and learn about others."
"Nice. Nice. My parents signed me up. Mom knew I had them since I was a baby. Uhhh don't ask." Tara replied, always getting embarassed whenever the story of the electrical outlet and the knife was told.
"You knew since birth, lucky I was a "vinilla" until I was 8." Macabee said, "What about you M..." She paused then looked to Tara's roommate.
Tara looked at Phoebe then decided to fill in what little she knew. "Phoebe. She's... Forgin. I think."
"Oh like from Townsville?" Macabee smirked.
Phoebe had been initially going to concentrate on her letters, but after hearing her name spoken she perked up and looked at the source, sidling off her chain and moving over to the pair.
"Phoebe," Phoebe said cheerily.
"Ah..I see..I'm Macabee" she held out her hand.
Like always, Phoebe mimicked the gesture and grasped Macabee's hand, though her form spontaneously warped and swapped to Macabee's form.
"Ahhh!" Macabee yelped as he looked at herself, "A mimic?" She looked over her own body.
"Mimic?" Tara asked. "Never heard of that... Mom only ever talked about kenetics. Pryo, hydro, electro, terra... stuff like that. It's what my family is. All the girls in my family have powers and control of stuff." She explained, though doing a bad job at it.
"That is pretty cool Tara.." She said as she still looked over Phoebe. "I can manipulate, but not fully control. I think you will be a powerhouse one day." She began to move up and down extending her hand and arm.
Tara smiled. "You should see my mom. She can control the rain. It rains when she wants it to, she keeps the house dry when the garden is full of water, she can move it anywhere." She smiled remembering her mom's cooking, more a powers show then a display of food preperation. Holding water-containing vegetables suspended in water orbs floating in the air. Then of her grandma, a pyrokenetic. "Grandma's awesome too." She smiled.
"What is the proper name for your power, electricmancy?" She asked.
"Electrokenisis, really. It's what mom calls it." Tara shrugged. "Same with Infamous."
Phoebe for the most part just stood and watched them, seeming both endlessly fascinated and puzzled by these interactions, trying to work out what all the words meant beyond the inflections behind them.
"Do you like your power?" Macabee asked Tara, she then looked to her mirror image. "Phoebe, you look so pretty right now!"
"Well..." Tara said giving a bit of a frown. "It has a lot of... Bad times. But then again, I've either been insanly lucky or something." She smirked. "I've been struck by lighting fifteen times. It's... Really nifty to be honest."
Phoebe-Macabee just smiled in response to the compliment -even though she barely understood it.
"Fif...teen times...wow...erm, if you don't mind me asking...how are you alive?", Macabee asked.
Milly heard the information but had no visible reaction. Her insticts when in clothing form were to remain still and silent...No need to freak people out just yet. Though she visibly twitched a little considering just how shocking the news was.
"I absorbed it!" Tara said proudly. "I absorb electircity and that's all lightning is. It's FRIGGEN AWESOME when it happens too! I'm hoping we can go out when there is a thunderstorm. Loud like you wouldn't believe though."
"I think it's best we don't do that...thunderstorms are still dangerous for the rest of us.", said Milly's voice.
"Huh?" Tara asked. "Where'd that come from? Milly? Is that you?"
"Oops...", Milly said in surprise.
"It's okay, don't be shy Milly", Macabee said.
"Where are you, anyways?" Tara piped in.
"She's the dress.", Macabee smiled as she got up and twirled in place once.
Tara's eyes widened as she looked then ran her covered fingers over the dress. "Wow... That's really cool!"
"Yeah, it really is! We were wondering what your reactions would be before we came in here.", Macabee said.
"Indeed, this is pretty much the first time I've transformed for a friend rather than family.", Milly said to Tara.
Tara smiled. "Well you look really pretty. Both of you. One of these days, I suppose I can show off what it'll look like when I get hit by lightning."
"Thanks, and you really don't have to do that.", Macabee said.
"Well we're some thousand kilometers up in the air...I'm sure you'll get your chance.", Milly said to her.
Tara smiled. "Nah, it's fine. Lightning aims for me anyways. If I'm outside, think of me as a gigantic lightning rod."
"You're not that big around.", Macabee teased.
"As long as it's you not me...I'd rather not be hit by lightning...", Milly said.
Phoebe had changed back to her primordial girl form and looked a little puzzled again -after getting over the confusion of hearing voices without sources- apparently she'd found something else she didn't know. Considering she'd been on the bottom of the ocean or in a lab, it was probably quite understandable she had no idea what 'lightning' was.
"It's cool though! Powers me up a lot. It's like drinking fifteen cups of coffee at once!" Tara said smiling happily. "I guess it's just a power craving or something. I need electricity and well... lightning is a colossal energy source." She tried to think in a way of how she could discribe it. "It's like breathing or eating. I need electricity to live pretty much. I get... Hungry for it i guess. And one strike is enough to keep me 'full' for days."
"I'm still not walking outside during a thunderstorm without good reason.", Macabeee said to Tara briefly pointing out her metal body piercings.
Tara nodded. "Ahhhh. Yeah, that'll be a problem. Though lightining kinda aims for me to be honest. I think I'm a lightning rod. Seriously, how else can I be struck 15 timesbythispoint? Leastthat'smytheory." She was doing the hyper speech thing again.
"And a brilliant theory it is.", Macabee said, "I look forward to getting to know you and Phoebe more...and especially you Milly.", she said placing a hand upon her breast.
"Thanks!" Tara said happily. "Metoo! Whatkindofstuffdoyoulike? Movies?Games?Comics?" Tara was clearly getting hyper again. It ws amazing how much she could say in a single breath.
"Slow down sister...", Macabee said to Tara. "All sorts of stuff, usually anime and manga, and you?" "I like animated stuff myself.", Milly said.
"COOL!" Tara said happily. "I like video games. And Comics. And movies. Pretty much everything." She said, blushing a little as she forced herself to speak slower. She was starting to bob up and down a little from barely contained energy.
"You have wierd energy...", Milly said to Tara. "I kinda like it...reminds me of my kid cousin...also I'm just wondering do you do cosplay at all?", Milly asked.
"Wish I could. To risky with my powers. I really wanna!" Tara replied.
"Cool...some part of me wants to as well...those halloweens must have rubbed off on me.", Milly said sheepishly.
"You make a great dress Milly.", Macabee said to her, "Comfy too."
Tara laughed. "Well once I get my powers under control, we can try it. Maybe a costume for me until i can get an actual one. Oh I didn't mention: I wanna be a superhero when I grow up."
"We all do Tara.", Macabee said.
"I'd settle for being more than just everyone's clothes...but if you want Tara I can try turning into rubber...that should be insulated.", Milly said.
"And leave me in my underwear?", Mac said slightly annoyed.
"I didn't say now.", Milly said to Macabee. "But maybe one day Tara.", she said.
Tara smiled. "Can't wait!" She said, still bouncing. In the meantime, she looked around her room looking for something to do now. Maybe showing off her stuff and interests.
"It's okay Tara, we can just chat.", Milly said, "And Mac...I think I've had enough for today...take me off now..."
"Awwww..." Tara said, frowning a little.
"Why the long face?", Macabee said, "And later Milly...I can't exactly strip in front of friends here now can I."

[B10 Room #80 (connects to 79)] AKA; Sanctum of the males
[[ It was a fairly simple room, white walls wooden closets with drawers for your intimates and whatever else, one for each of them. And two beds placed against the back corners of the room. One for each corner with some space between them. A door to their right would lead to the bathroom, while the one to their left led to a study room with 4 desks that was shared with Room 79 ]]
Derek thanked the guy and ducked into the room, tail waving happily behind him. White walls he could do without. He didn't think they would mind if he painted a bit... His bags were in the corner, so at least that was good. He bounded across the room with one leap and landed on the bed, crawling and curling into a ball. He paused and glared at Alex. "Mine."
Examining the room, Alex felt that it was... basic, but it'll have to do. He chuckled at Derek's antics and promptly held both hands up when he glared at him, marking that bed as his and his alone, "You really are part cat, aren't you? Relex Derek, I'll just take the other bed over there. haha."
Derek growled softly but it degraded into mutters as he pulled off his toque to give his feline ears some air. They twitched around a bit, part muscle exercise, part tracking around for the sounds from other rooms. He yawned and stretched a bit before responding. "Whatever..." He wasn't going to apologize. It was still his. "Nice room though."
Alex nods as he relaxes a little, "It's alright, a little bland, but nice."
Derek, his claim staked, climbed out of his bed and checked the closet space. "You would think they could give us some more drawers or something..."
Alex proceeds to examine the closet as well and soon laughs, "This kind of closet space must be a nightmare for girls!" With that stereotype out of the way, he decides now would be the best time to claim the closet space that's closest to his bed and put his own clothes away.
Derek just dragged his suitcases over to the other closet and put his own things away. He was less than organized, and more or less dumped them into piles across the floor space, only hanging up a handful of stuff, and making a stack of books near the front. He set a drawer aside for odds and ends, but then stopped at one bag. "Alex... your powers come with complications?"
Unlike the kitty, he was a bit more organized. When he was asked about his powers, he honestly stopped to think about it, "...Nothing that I'm honestly aware of, no. Really all it does is summon weapons... There might be complications if I get creative with the designs though."
"Mine... mine come with couple... So I kinda have to depend on people at time," Derek admitted. "I know we just met, but since your my roommate and all..."
Needless to say, Alex is confused, "Okay? And these complications are...?"
He stood silently for a few moments well, ear twitching distractedly, and tail twitching. Eventually, he walked over and set a bag on the Alex's bed. "You know I teleport, right? I can turn into a cat too. But... I don't always stay... me. I need someone to keep me from doing something I wouldn't like to do if I was myself..."
Michael wasn't sure how to react to that, "Umm, alright then. Anything that I need to know about the whole 'turning into a cat' thing?" He didn't want to outright say if he is going to be taking care of an actual cat or not during those times in case it might offend him.
"Doesn't normally last for long... but that's a collar. It keeps me from teleporting. In case of anything," Derek said.
Alex nods slowly, "Okay. Strange, but okay."
Derek shifting uncomfortably. "How do you think I feel about it? Jeeze... And... can you keep it a secret?"
Alex continues to nod as he examines the collar, "I won't tell anyone. Promise."
"Thanks," Derek said, dropping to sit on the floor before Alex's bed. He distracted himself with undoing the lacing on his shoes. He didn't like shoes. "It's pretty embarrassing."
Alex shrugs as he continues moving his stuff to were they needed to go, "Can't imagine. Must suck having something like that just randomly happening to you."
Derek tugged off one foot, then a sock, wiggling his toes, tipped in thick sharp nails more like claws than anything else, in the relieve of freedom. His parent always insisted he wear shoes outside. He hated shoes. He sniffed at the shoe before tossing it towards his side of the room and starting at the next one. "Meh... it is." Not that he talked to anyone about it aside from his parents and brother and sister. "Never had anyone to tell before though..."
//I see the dichotomy starting already....
Alex wasn't sure what to think on that, "Huh" He was finally done putting away his clothes and proceeded to sit on his own bed, "Does that mean we're friends?"
"We aren't?" Derek said, looking up at Alex with a slight bit of confusion. He thought they were...
Alex blinks, "I didn't say we aren't..." he sensed how confusing the following conversation might become and promptly decided to shut up, "Welp, I clearly said something stu-"
There was a knocking on the door to the study room. A soft rapping.
Derek leaned back and tipped over unto his back before rolling unto his stomach, cocking his head to one side and climbing to his feet and scrambling to the door. The one on the left. Sounded like it opened unto a bigger room. Curious, he opened it. "Hello?"
"Hey..Jimmy, there are people in this room.", the blonde haired boy said. "Hey guys.", said another freckled boy wh walked towards them.
"Hi," Derek said slowly, his ears flicking curiously. He looked over the blonde guy's shoulder at the other guy, sniffing curiously. One smelled like... coal. Or... just burned wood. The other... has a hint of cheese. Maybe he was just eating it. And here he was with only one shoe on. "You... are our neighbours?"
"Yeah...I'm Paul, what's your name?", Paul asked. "Hey I'm Jimmy...so you guys new here too?"
"Paul. I mean Derek. I'm Derek," he said. Stumbling slightly. His tail swung nervously behind him. "I'm Derek, and that is Alex. We came in today."
Alex was about to say his own name after chuckling at Derek's stumble, but he stole that moment, "Umm.. I can talk you know."
"Same, um...your tail is wagging.", Jimmy said to him.
"Hey... so what?" Derek said, narrowing his eyes at the cheesey one, Paul.
"Nothing, just mentioning it...", Jimmy said.
"So what do you guys do?", Paul asked.
"I can teleport," Derek reported.
"Cool.", Paul said, "And the cat bits?"
"Mine," Derek said, giving Paul a flashing of teeth that might have been a grin. Or just might have been a baring of very sharp fangs. "Why don't you have any?"
"I'm not a catboy.", Paul said. "So I suppose you have cat-like reflexes too."
"What about you?" Derek counter questioned. "You smell like cheese..."
"Really? That's strange...my powers have nothing to do with cheese, I just like it...maybe it was that mouse...You know my power is posession."
"Possession? Like a ghost?" Derek asked.
"Yes...like a ghost.", Paul said.
"I can burn things...", Jimmy said excitedly.
Derek sniffed the air once or twice. "I can tell... you smell like coal. Or embers."
"Who's your roommate there?", Paul asked pointing at Alex.
"I summon weapons." Alex said matter of factly.
"Fascinating.", Jimmy said. "Just weapons, or more things?"
"As far as I know? Just weapons. But who knows, I might be able to summon a fire sword or something at some point. I can make energy weapons, so it makes sense." Alex replied with a slight shrug.
"So enough about us, where are you two from?", Paul asked.
"I'm from Humansville..." Alex said plainly as if there's nothing too neat about the place.
//......*facepalms* should I say Manehatten or Canterlot then, Mew? xD
"Townsville..." Derek said slowly. "What about you?"
"Gotham City.", Paul replied with a smile.
"Metrocity.", Jimmy said.
"You're both from the city?" Derek asked.
"Yeah...get's kinda crowded sometimes, but the mayor's awesome.", Jimmy said.
"Gotham's kinda dangerous, but we don't need to worry about it too much.", Paul said.
"Townsville is pretty okay, aside from Monster Isle... but we are used to that," Derek said.
"Monster Isle? Is that a theme park or something?", Jimmy asked.
"It's the place were all the monsters live," Derek said, taking a seat on the ground.
"Sounds scary.", Paul said sitting with him on the floor of the study room.
"People don't go there, but every week a monster comes to town to fight the top heroes. The text book says it's cause they get a reward or something if they survive," Derek continued.
"Oh townsville's 3 godesses? I've heard about them on the news before.", Jimmy said joining Derek in the study room.
"Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup, Townsville's protectors," Derek said. "The set up a statue for them in the town square. The monsters always try to break it though."
"Have they ever succeeded?", Paul asked.
"Not recently..." Derek admitted, but he leaned forward and got a very conspiratorial tone. "But they say only three people have. The Monster King for one. He's so powerful that he almost took out all three goddess. He hasn't shown up since then though... The goddess' brother Mojo and Him."
"Wow, I didn't even know they had a brother.", Jimmy said.
"Sorta... they are children of the Great Professor," Derek said.
"Thought the professor made them by accident.", Paul said.
Derek shrugged. He hadn't focused on how they they were connected. "They just are."
"If you say so...excited for classes tomorrow?", Paul asked.
Alex shrugs, "Kinda, I have no real idea what to expect considering how different this school is."
"I don't like lessons... lessons are dumb..." Derek muttered. Granted, his definition of lessons generally involved being cooped up in a room with the collar so he couldn't just run, forced to memorize stuff that didn't make much sense to him, and then given dumb tests.
"Well we'll see then...", Paul said to Derek, "Now it's getting late...talk with you guys tomorrow?"
//let's see if we can wrap this up soonish and then we can move on to the first day of classes
First Day of Classes
Milly returned to normal after Macabee took her off. It was getting late. the girls chatted for quite a while before everyone retired to bed. Milly jokingly offered to be PJ's but Macabee sensibly disagreed. The next morning the gang all met at breakfast.
Milly was wandering the cafeteria looking for her friends.
Tara was practiclly giddy with the prospect of classes. She somehow got to sleep as she always did, and when she woke up, she was practically skipping along in happyness. As usual, she wore her clothes so no skin was exposed though she was taking a chance and wearing just some long sleeves, long pants and the gloves. She hoped she wouldn't hurt anyone.
Derek really didn't want to leave his bundle of blankets. Particularly considering it was to go to something like classes... What got his out of bed was the fact that it also meant food. He groaned and stopped by the bathroom to wash his face before he made his why back up to the cafeteria, struggling into a t-shirt on the way up. (No, he didn't wait for Alex. He could get his own breakfast.)
At least they had sausages and eggs. And milk. He loaded up and followed his nose to his new friends.
"HI THERE!!!" Tara yelled seeing Derek as she looked at the cafeteria and the people in it. "HOW'DYOUSLEEP?AREYOUEXCITEDFORCLASSI'MEXCITED!ICA N'TWAIT!WOOOOOO!"
"I figured it wouldn't be hard to find ya Tara...How'd you sleep? Ya excited?", Milly said cheerfully locating Tara and Derek at a table and she joined them, "Hey Derek...you as excited as Tara here? I know I look forward to being able to do more than just turn into stuff."
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Tara went as though in response, bouncing up and down like a madwoman.
Alex was obtaining foods and minding his own business when suddenly what sounded like a fangirl squeal shoved it's way into his ears. He stands there for a few seconds, holding his tray of eggs, bacon, OJ and small bowl of ceral before be finally said something, "Ow... Well, Tara's awake..." With that, he proceeds to sit with the group; they weren't hard to find since there's a Tara with them.
Milly set down her tray and hugged Tara, making extra sure not to touch bare skin, thankfully not getting electrocuted in the process. "You excited?", Milly asked.
Derek winced and glared at Tara. Always with the yelling. What was with these people and the yelling? "No... no way classes are gonna be fun..." He forestalled having to say anything more by going for a forkful of sausage.
"How can you know before you have any."Milly asked after a few bites of her waffles in in syrup. Milly scanned the crowd. There were a couple older looking people, one looked to be made of stone while another looked like a cyborg. Someone was approaching thier table. He was an older guy, japanese with thick glasses and somehow sported a spiky hairstyle. He sat down near Tara at their round table. "Hello fellow students, May I partake in morning sustenance with my peers.", he said, he sported a suit and tie.
"All classes suck," Derek said with his mouthful. There was a sausage stuck to the claw of his index finger, having somewhat forgotten standard table manners. He paused and looked over at the guy with his eyes narrowed. "No yelling..."
"Butwegettolearnhowtocontrolourpowers!" Tara said, still with the hyperspeech, not able to sit still. She ran around the table instead of sitting down. Eventually though, somehow, she tired herelf out. Finally, she stopped behind Derek, panting for breath.
"Interesting energy you have there miss, what's your name? I'm Rex", the boy said.
"Tara!" She replied after catchng her breath but not her energy. No, that would be back in half an hour.
"Charmed to make your acquaintance. You guys new here?", Rex asked the group.
Milly nodded. No need to lie about such things.
"YEP!" Tara said happily. "What about you?" She said, starting to calm down... sort of. She stopped doing the hyper speech thing at least.
"I'm a sophomore. So um...what special abilities do you guys have that got you here?", Rex asked.
"Er...I'm a shapeshifter.", MIlly said timidly.
"I get struck by lightning and can absorb electricity!" Tara said proudly.
"Absorbing electricity...can you also release that energy?", Rex asked.
"Not yet! I wanna work on that though! Just after I can keep it all inside me." Tara explained.
"It's why all this stuff. I shock anything I touch."
"Oh...well good luck with that...it's the first steps that are often the hardest.", Rex said.
"So what is your power?", Milly asked.
"I'm super-smart, and that's basically it...", Rex said to her.
Tara nodded. Not everyone could have a flashy power like her. "Whatcha wanna do after you graduate from here?"
"I think maybe something in business, earn some money, work for a company....", rex said seriously and then switched to a more comical tone, "Ah who am I kidding, I want to start a super hero team."
"Awesome!" Tara was liking this guy already. "Well if you need someone that can do stuff with electricity, let me know!" She smiled happily.
"I'll keep you in mind if I ever initiate this business venture...but you'll still have to improve...no sense having a team of amatuers.", Rex said to her.
Tara nodded. "Makes sense, yeah." She said and shrugged. "So, how come they don't give powers trainng and stuff more of a focus? I checked the schedule and that one is like... way later in the day."
"The class schedule thing is more flexible here than at a more typical school. There is a firm belief that standard academic prodecudes will benefit you regardless of if you have powers or not. Me, I tested out of that but most folks don't have super-intelligence. As for power training, yes it's after lunch, but you get a mix of intensive individual focus with a powers counselor and group training exercises...Honestly I feel if they made you do power training all day long you'd be to use layman's terms completely pooped by the end of it all.", Rex explain the information flowing out of him like he was a computer.
"Ah... I dunno. Guess I just thought power training would be more fitting for me with my problem and all."
"Hopefully that will be elucidated in individual counseling.", Rex said to her.
"Still sounds like fun...", Milly smiled.
"Sure you say that now...just wait till this afternoon.", Rex smirked.
"I always wanted to be a superhero. I'm sure it'll be fun." Tara countered. "Ever since I was a little girl and my mom got me The Technius Imperative to read while I was sick."
After spending far too long exploring and investigating all the nooks and crannies of the dormitory room, Phoebe eventually remembered there was a schedule and breakfast and such, and came running to the cafeteria rather late. She tripped somewhere in the process, falling, tumbling, turning into a large blob and somewhere along the trip she formed back into her humanoid shape and continued rushing -albeit a deal more disorientated- to the place where she could smell all the food.
Only a couple students saw Phoebe turn into a giant blob.
After that point she simply locked onto the most familiar figures -one being her roommate- and rushed over and took a seat rather anti-climactically, not going for food or even speaking up, just attempting to watch everyone and the food they ate.
"Most think of it that way...it's good to have dreams.", Rex said.
"Yes...if only we didn't have these morning classes.", Milly said, "Speaking of which Tara, have you ever fried other electronics?"
Tara blushed. "Ummm... If I said 'no' would you believe me?"
"Maybe...", Milly smirked.
"Then nope! Haven't fried anything before!" Tara said innocently and sweetly.
Alex chuckled at the clear lie, "Yeah, and I don't have the ability to create weapons."
Derek looked at her, rolled his eyes and stole some of her food instead.
"Hey! I was gonna eat that!" She said grabbing a fork and stabbing some of his food to eat it. "MINE!"
Uncanny dodging skills applied to predatorial possesiveness meant he caught her sleeve and hissed at her. "Penalties."
"That was MINE." Tara pouted and scooted her plate out of his reach.
During the confusion, Milly managed to steal a slice of ham from Derek.
Considering all the food-thievery going on, Phoebe naturally tried joining in, reaching around with hands and two tendrils of her hair blob mass attempting to steal stuff from everyone for the hell of it.
Alex slowly backed away from the table of food stealing and the tendril hair things from that one girl, "This can't end well..." he quietly said as he holds his tray with one hand and ate with the other.
"Leave my food alooooooooooonnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee!" Tara whined, protecting her breakfast.
Derek, ears flat cause of the epidemic he seemed to have caused, and annoyed caused they tried to take his food, decided to end things. "No food for any of you!"
Taking a page from Afterimage's book, he grabbed his plate and Tara's and teleported to the other side of the table, grabbed Milly's and jumped again to the far side from the rest of them.
"NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! GIMMIE!" Tara wailed and tried to steal her food back without fighting. Othewise she'd jsut get more.
"Huh...?" Phoebe uttered when her targets rapidly disappeared with a certain cat person, cocking her head to one side and then looking around for the cat in question.
Derek hissed at Tara, though he would admit with was far less impressive in than when he was furrier.
Other students began noticing the shenanigans at the newbies table.
"Hey where's my food?", Milly noted as Derek teleported away with her tray. She grabbed a handful of food and flung it at Derek.
"FOOD FIGHT!" Tara yelled and went to lookfor some ammo.
Since food was for eating when hungry, Derek ducked under Milly's attack and stuffed his face before someone took his food to toss it away.
Milly's glob of food struck someone else in the lunch room and given that no one knew where it came from the entire cafeteria was now filled with food flying everywhere.
Milly ducked under the table, "This was not my intention."
More notably the students who had some degree of super speed were doing the most damage, but in thier case they were running out of ammunition sooner.
Tara, nutcase that she was, seemed to be having some fun with the food fight, another chance to burn off her hyperness... even if it wan't helping all that much. She settled for trying to tackle someone's plate so she could get more ammo... only to slide right off the table and fall onto the ground, her head spinning for a second.
Alex promptly got under a table with his food. Since the contents of his food wasn't exactly something he'd like to throw, he decided to be that one guy who eats popcorn on the sidelines... only it was breakfast food.
Ever the one to follow suit -especially after getting a glob of food straight in the face- Phoebe started machine-gun firing with her four limbs, her aim was terrible but whatever, she was just having fun copying people.
Derek teleported under the table, still chewing and frowned at Milly. "Totally your fault," he said to her, the words somewhat distorted by his mouthful.
"Say what you will, you were the first person throw food at someone, Mills." Alex said simply as he quickly noms his ceral.
In time the lunch room had split into two sides with the left side tables vs the right side tables. Milly remained under the table and only peeked out on occasion to fling more globs of food. "No, these things just happen.", she tried to say.
Phoebe clearly wasn't much of a dodger -even if she mimicked the movements of the good dodgers she wasn't really dodging the ones that hit her, so she got hit an alarmingly large amount of times, but each time her body seemed to suck the glob of food into her body mass and you could sort of see it dissolving inside her semi-transparent body.
Derek stuck his head out, took a quick look around, and teleported over to the otherside, grabbed a tray and teleported back. He offered some to Milly. "Snack?"
"Thanks dude.", milly said grabbing a pastry. By this point adults were running into the cafeteria trying to calm everyone down. Needless to say they got pelted.
"Don't be nice to him! He stole my foooooooooooood!" Tara complained.
Acheivement Unlocked He stole my food!
Alright general toughness save from everyone for the larger bits of food thrown by those with super strength.
Toughness DC 15
Toughness: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4112718/ 13
Phoebe, Derek, and Tara have one bruised tick that should wear off in an hour...You got hit by sourdough bread or a slab of ham, or maybe bacon.
"Enough !", came a loud booming voice. Suddenly time stopped for everyone. When it restarted again everything was back to normal. You may have remembered seeing a navy blue streak as someone or something rewinded time to before the start of the foodfight though the memory was still with everyone. "This is the last time I want to see this happen, you'll have your chance to release energy during training time.", said an older lady wearing blue, her hair was silver but her age didn't seem to stay constant.
//now on to classes
Morning classes covered basic subjects such as english, math and science. Fairly standard stuff. Although science was less about theoretical studies on the effects of clouds but more practical things such as which types of forcefields could stop common disintegration beams, portal technology and it's unfortunate implications. It was the first day though so most classes only covered the basics of laser gun manufacture and distribution. English began with a discussion of superheroes in the media. And Math...well was just math.
//"If a civilian is falling at 9.5ms per second from a 20 story building, and a hero is flying towards them at 500ft per second from three miles away, how high will they be when the hero catches her?"
//great now you need to convert meters per second to ft/s and then find out how high each story is before you can calculate how far they fall...
//perhaps it's more important to see how fast you need to go to catch them
After a much less eventful lunch, students were given a 20 minute break before their power levels would be given out and a counselor assigned.
The only listings that matters:
Power Level 5 Group E
Counselor Ms. Taylor Wyatt a.k.a Ensemble
Assistant Rex Kawada a.k.a Datastream
Macabee *insert last name here*
Milly entered room 402-A. The room though seemingly only large enough to fit a small size classroom opened to reveal it was bigger on the inside. It was a clean white room with tiles on the floors walls and ceiling. "Wow, that's kinda neat.", she said aloud.
Tara nodded. "Yeah." She smirked remembering the most used line from her favrioute British TV series. "Wonder how they did this."
Alex looks around the big white empty room and had a few, if abit unrealistic ideas what would happen, (although after a class involving lasers and being surrounded by people with a kinds of crazy powers, who knows?) "...I feel like I watched a Sci-Fi series with a room like this."
"It's bigger on the inside..." Derek marveled.
"If you see a blue police box anywhere, let me know. Much as I like it here, I wanna see the universe too. Or would like to." Tara smirked.
"We're not seeing the universe just yet guys...", said a lady in her 30's. She wore a black dress suit complete with bowtie and coattails. "Hello, class I'm Ms. Wyatt or Ensemble. You six have been assigned to power level 5 group E, I am your power counselor. Let's start with introductions. State your name, your power, and anything else you'd like to tell the group. I'll start us off, my name is Taylor Wyatt, I can duplicate myself and my singing can affect people's minds for better or worse."
"Hello!" Tara waved eagerly, excited as to what they'd be doing. "Myname'sTara, andIgetstruckbylighningandcanabsorbe lectricity!AndI'mreallyhypernow!Iwannastart!"
"Thank you...erhm Tara.", Ms. Wyatt said.
"Well, my name is Alex Duran, and I'm able to conjure various types of weapons. Most of my family has a lesser form of this power and we're trained to be able to effectively use the weapon in question at age eight."
"Ah the Duran Family, you must be very proud.", Ms. Wyatt said.
Alex smiles and nods. You bet he's proud; his family is great, 'sibling rivalry' makes life fun, and he has a 'one up' to the typical weapon summoning power.
"Hello I'm Milly Sayaki, my power err...I shapeshift but only into inanimate stuff, and um...I've been worn by just about all my cousins at least once."
"Fascinating...your file said you had great potential.", Ms. Wyatt said fighting the urge to facepalm.
Alex was clearly fighting the urge to laugh at the last thing Milly said. Actually, he wasn't sure if he should laugh or feel sorry for her.
"You three are weird..." Derek said. Crazy girl, crazy weapon guy and Millie...
"Being normal sucks!" Tara retorted.
Alex coughs, "*cough*Saysthe*cough*catboy*cough*! Excuse me." he smiles innocently.
"Your turn.", Ms. Wyatt said cheerfully indicating Derek.
"Um, right... I'm Derek Stiles," he started, glaring at Alex. He should have locked him in the room. "I'm a cat and can do cat... stuff. And... um... teleport... and can hear stuff even thought everyone wants to yell for everything..."
"Coach Boomer can be overeager at times.", Ms. Wyatt agreed.
"Phoebe!" Phoebe said exuberantly, shooting a hand up to give extra reference, "Mimic!"
Was pretty much all she knew how to say in her own voice at the moment, kind of hoping it was enough judging from the varied introductions she'd heard from the others -she kinda knew what was going on but missed all the specifics.
//insert other people's introductions there
"Alright, now that we all introduced ourselves it's time for the individual discussions. Don't worry these should be brief and cover what aspects of power control you want to be working on during individual and group training. Let us begin...",Ms. Wyatt said before splitting into enough copies to be 1 on 1 with all 20 students in Group E. "Now each student please step within one tile please. Today we'll be having individual sessions."
Derek gingerly poked at the tile with his toe, his tail flitting uncertainly behind him. He sighed and
A copy of Ms. Wyatt stood onto the tile with her and the square glowed before the two were in a new smaller room. "People claimed Mr. Medulla was crazy for daring to put a dimensional pocket inside another dimensional pocket and then building a state of the art classroom inside the dimensional pockets. "
"I can feel it... I think..." Derek said, realizing that must be what had been tugging at him since he first stepped in, then again when he touched the tile. "Feel's different than outside."
"Interesting, can you sense the dimension we're in...Also Derek, you seemed rather confident in your abilities during power placement, teleporting and cat-like, very useful...is there anything else you can do that isn't already on file?", Ms Wyatt asked.
"I don't know what's on your file..." Derek admitted. He hadn't paid attention when his mother was filling out the paperwork. (Honestly, he was trying to avoid his brother at the time, so it was pretty much a game of tag...) "Does it say I can shift?"
"I believe that was covered yes.", Ms. Wyatt said, "In that case, what would you like to be able to do after power training?"
Derek took a seat on the floor before he started talking again. "Control it better I guess..."
"Better how?", Ms. Wyatt asked, "What do you feel you need improvement on?"
"I can't control it sometimes... and I can't always shift back when it happens," Derek said after another pause.
"Ah shapeshifting can be a difficult matter. I'm no expert on the subject but from what Carla tells me it's important to have a good grasp on your self...no matter what you become you must hold on to yourself...you haven't had any problems with going feral have you?", Ms. Wyatt said.
Derek suddenly found the patch of tile(?) flooring between his toes extremely riveting and worthy of his absolute attention, leaving no time for him to respond to the nice counselor lady.
"Should I take your silence as a yes?", Ms. Wyatt asked. "Well then, we'll have work to do...I want you to try shifting, don't worry I'll be able to stop you if you lose your mind. Hold onto your being...your soul as you change form. One of these days I'll actually get Carla over here to help you out.", she explained. A small collar rose on a hook from the floor. She held onto it.
Since he was planning just to shift to his anthro form, he didn't bother with stripping down. Really should have realized that the universe didn't work that way. There was a difference between the way all the shifts worked. But he was a bit too busy focusing on trying to 'hold on to his being', whatever that meant, to pay that much attention to it.
So he was a bit late in realizing the way things were moving about was for his cat shape. He whimpered slightly as his fur grew out, bones shifted for the new stance and structure, and perspective changed as he shrunk a bit. It didn't take long, just a few seconds, but the end result was a large cat ((game size small, but that's big for a cat. Like lynx sized or bigger)) tangled up in his pants and shift.
"Effective...now do you still understand me? Just nod if you do.", Ms. Wyatt said to him.
Derek managed to get out of the pants and was chewing at the shirt when she spoke. He stopped, huffed a sigh and nodded, squirming around in the shirt a bit.
"Oh wow, you're pretty small now...are you able to change back on your own?", Ms. Wyatt said to the cat.
Derek paused, the tip of his tail twitching, then rocked his head from side to side and made a feline approximate of a shrug. It was a complicated answer.
"I see...but you are capable of maintaining your mind...that's good, what about your other powers...perhaps you can still teleport..if so you can try it now.", Wyatt said to him.
Derek nodded, and teleported just a few feet, to the left of Ms Wyatt. He unfortunately took the shirt with him, so he was still held up by it, but it didn't manage to mess up his landing too much. He squirmed a bit and slipped out of the shirt before it annoyed him more.
"Great...now I think it's important to see how much of your mind you retain in that form.", Ms. Wyatt suggested. And with that standard IQ test equiptment rose from the ground. She stooped so she was on more of an eye level with Derek. "This is going to be a more casual testing...now let's begin." She administered basic cognitive tests adjusting them for a cat.
Great... they even had tests in the power checking lessons. This was why he hates lessons. He cuffed softly under his breath, but cooperated for the most part, doing what he could. It wasn't long before he started hitting snags. It frustrated him, since he knew he should be able to do most of these, but he just couldn't see the solutions at the moment.
1d20-2=1, 1d20-2=1, 1d20-2=-1, 1d20-2=17, 1d20-2=13...
"Perhaps your animal instincts are interfering with your mental capacity.", Ms Wyatt said. "You said you had catlike reflexes...let's see them..." And that was when a set of wooden kung fu dummies rose from the floor. "These were designed for humans to practice on, but this will still be a good benchmark for us...Try not to get hit..." Ms. Wyatt pushed a button on her little remote and the dummies began moving like they were real combat opponents.
1d20+6=21, 1d20+6=23, 1d20+6=24, 1d20+6=15, 1d20+6=22
1d20+1=20 miss, 1d20+1=5 miss, 1d20+1=11 miss, 1d20+1=18 hit, 1d20+1=21 miss
Derek backed up, hissing slightly since he wasn't all that fond of where this was going, but he still cooperated. The first dummy's swing was pretty close, but he skittered aside from it, claws scrabbling on the floor for a moment. The second swing was eaiser to avoid, and he hopped over it, jumping from the dummy's shoulder, avoiding a clumsy swing from the one behind it. He slipped slightly, enough that the fourth hit him on the shoulder and sent him rolling a bit, but he quickly go to his feet and skipped past the last one.
"Good, very good, I see you have maintained some semblance of rational thought in that body.", Ms. Wyatt said. "I need Derek back for this next part.", she said snapping the normalizer collar on him.
[assuming it works however] Derek blinked after the shift back happened. "Huh..."
"First things first, do you remember anything that happened while you were a cat?", Ms. Wyatt asked.
"Most of if, yeah," Derek said, nodding, tugging on the collar, His tail shifting behind him. The fact that he was naked didn't bother him. And he didn't remember, really. He'd shifted so much he'd pretty much gotten over that unless it was with a large group. "It's a bit muddled though."
Ms. Wyatt still had her back turned out of modesty. "Get your clothes on son.", she said to him. "How muddled...do you remember me asking? or today's practice?"
Derek did as he was told, starting with his shirt as he thought about it. "Like I was dreaming. I don't remember all the details, but some of it."
"What can you remember?", Ms. Wyatt asked him.
"Um..." Derek pushed with his pants half way up. "Something about.. tests... questions. You asked some questions. And the dummies."
"Good, we'll work on that further, anything unrelated to shapeshifting you want to practice?", Ms. Wyatt.
"Not really I guess," Derek muttered. "I'm fine..." He wasn't really, but the collar thing sorta confused him. Well... unnerved him. He really hated shifting without control, and it was bad enough when something triggered it. But when it was forced like that. Felt creepy.
//let's end this here....
//this is similar to the one derek's parent's use...it will forcibly revert him to human form.
//and no he can't keep it
//The one his parents use is just conditioning. Doesn't do anything aside from keep him from teleporting.
//then this one does more then...great
//Took a long time to condition him. They were working on a braclet/bangle thing to keep him from shifting, but seven months still didn't show progress.
Tara stood onto the tile eagerly, then bounced up and down as she always did, the hyper girl being well... Still hyper.
"Who?" Tara asked, tilting her had a little, but still was amazd by the technology. "This is awesome.
"He's one of the science teachers. Brilliant guy, but huge ego.", Ms. Wyatt said. A set of tiles rose up to form a desk and chair set up, along with another desk for Wyatt herself. "Now Tara Raiden, I've heard stories, you were in juvie, nearly killed a boy during an electric discharge...Now I'm in no position to judge, but it looks like you have some difficulty controlling your power.", Ms. Wyatt said more seriously.
Tara's mood instantly dropped. "Oh... you heard about that." she looked down at her feet."
"Don't be sad, that's why you're here, to learn to control your power so something like that doesn't happen again. Now what do you think should be your personal goals for you and your powers?", Ms Wyatt asked.
"I wanna keep all the electricity inside me so it never happens agin." She blushed a little. "And... I kinda want to be like Cole MacGrath. Full time superhero."
"Cole, ah right Cole, last I heard he was with the Avengers. You say you want to keep all the electricity inside yourself so it never happens again. You know what happens when you add electricity to a capacitor already at full capacity...the energy leaks, sometimes discharging violently...I think it's not a matter of bottling it up but better controlling the discharges."
Tara blinked at the fact that 1) Cole was actully a real person and that 2) he was still alive when infamous 2 had him die. To save the rest of the human race mind you, but he still bought it. "Like... shooting it?" She asked once her mind had gotten back on track.
"I think if you learn to control the discharges you can prevent energy from leaking when you come into contact with people.", Ms. Wyatt said. A van degraff generator emerged from Tara's desk. "This is a van de graff generator it generates electrostatic energy which focuses on the ball here.", Wyatt said pointing to the metal ball. "We're going to practice, place your hands on the metal ball and charge up as much as you can."
Tara nodded and took off her gloves. "All right." She said and closed her eyes. Touching the generator, she felt the power flow out of her as it always did when she touched conductive metals. Normally, she pulled back immedieatly, but she was learning so she had to do this. She charged it up as best as she could.
The device began sputtering and there was a little smoke. "Good...not too much or you'll break the device...now absorb energy out of the generator.", Ms. Wyatt said to Tara. "Let it flow into you but try and control it." A lightning rod came up out of the desk as well. "If at any point you feel you cannot contain the energy, discharge it on the lightning rod.", Ms. Wyatt said to Tara.
"Trying to." Tara said as she tried to control the flow. She had tried before, but she was far better at drawing it into herself rather then controling it. She was confident that she wouldn't need the lighting rod. Beides, she could take lightning strikes. Had been multiple times. She could hold it.
"Practice directing the flow of energy, if you can control the flow you can prevent the energy from leaking.", Ms. Wyatt said to Tara.
Tara nodded, concentrating hard and sweat beads began forming on her brow. "I can do this..." She said more to convince herself. Cole had trouble at first. Could barley power on a lightbulb to boot.
A little green bar at the base of the van de graff went up and down showing that she was able to control her powers drawing and releasing her energy without breaking the generator.
"Good, good, you aren't breaking the generator.", Ms. Wyatt said. "You seem to be learning how to control your discharging...I notice you have rubber gloves...is that so you don't accidentally electrocute someone again?"
"Yeah... it was horrible what I did... I don't like to talk about it." Tara said, frowning then smiled as she controlled her powers. "I think i'm the one with the hardest time of this in my family." She admitted.
"I apoligize for bringing it up, but this is important, I think top priority now is to prevent accidental discharges. Later we can work on discharging as energy blasts or perhaps force lightning." The van de graff generator descended into the block. And was replaced by a desk lamp, the lamp was unpowered and had two wires with bare ends to allow electricity to conduct. "I think your problem was that regardless of what you absorbed power from, the moment you touched anything that could possibly conduct electricty you would discharge energy into it...so far I have had you practice controlling your discharge. Now I want you to practice holding it in. Take hold of the wires for this desk lamp. If there is any current in the wires the light will turn on..I want you to avoid turning on the light."
Tara nodded. She had tried stuff like this before, but nine times out of ten, she just wound up electrocuting things. "All right... I'll try." She said and took a hold of the wires.
Powers Check: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4113024/ 24
The light didn't even flicker. "See how long you can prevent a discharge.", Ms. Wyatt suggested.
Do a few power checks, each one symbolizing a few minutes of time.
Tara held the electricity incheck for the firt minute easily enough. The second time, she relented a little and winced as she watched it light, thinking she might have destroyed the lamp altogether. Thankfully, the light seemed to stay together and Tara was able to control the lights for a full three more minutes.
"You're making progress...be confident in yourself. Try again.", Ms. Wyatt said to her, "You can do this."
Tara nodded and tried agian. The firt minute was met with a failure, but as the time went on, the light remained off. "It's pretty easy," Tara said smiling a little as she pulled her hands away.
"Very nice...I would wait before removing the gloves until you can be certain that light won't turn on.", Ms. Wyatt said. "Now you seem to have stored a good amount of energy from the van de graff generator...now for the fun part.", Ms. Wyatt said walking behind Tara, the far wall gained a metallic sheen as well as a target board.
Tara smiled. "Shooting it?" she asked happily and pulled her hands away.
The desk lamp sank into the desk. The desk also went away. "Stand up, you see that target board at the end of the room...yes we will work on shooting it.", Ms. Wyatt said, "Now draw the energy to your fingertips, focus it, and release it towards the target board over there."
Ms. Wyatt took a step back to give Tara space.
Tara smiled and did just that. Closing her eyes again, she slowly made a fist, pulled back, and then shot her hand forward. Without warning, a bolt of lightning shot out of her hand. "Whoa!" She yelped, never expecting her tobe able to do this so soon.

The bolt thankfully still hit the mettalic screen on the back wall causing the spot it hit to glow before the glow too dissapeared. "Good focus, aim could use some work...again.", Wyatt said to her.
Tara smiled. "Well... First things first." She said in a bit of defence to her. Doing the same thing agian, she had much the same result somewhat.

"Alright we have made progress today. Now do you wish to practice controlling discharges or blasting?", Ms. Wyatt asked.
"Discharges," Tara said without missing a beat. "I really need to keep that under control first. Before I do anything else."
Ms. Wyatt smiled, she pressed a button and the desk returned along with the desk lamp set up and the van de graff generator. "As you wish I'll just supervise."
Tara took hold again and continued to moniter the flow of electricity inside her.
Powers check x10 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4113199/
Your doing well. The light only flickered on a few times since you started.
Confused as always, Phoebe carefully watched the others and copied what they did, stepping onto a spare tile and looking around curiously, still attempting to eye the others as for what to do next.
And Phoebe had absolutely no idea what Ms. Wyatt just said, just sort of sitting there a little lost and fidgeting slightly, vainly looking around for the others in hopes of figuring out what she was supposed to be doing.
"I've looked over your file, it's obvious the scientists who brought you up wrote your application, No one told me I was to train primidorial ooze...then again you did pass the background checks. Well then let's get started...show me what you can do.", Ms. Wyatt said, "Show me your ooze state...I imagine it's more natural for you anyway."
After sort of piecing together what Ms. Wyatt was asking, Phoebe scratched her head and concentrated for a moment, sort of taking in a deep breath and then just collapsing into a blob on the ground.
"I don't know what they were thinking letting a blob they found on the ocean floor into the school but whatever...Now that you're here, you might as well fit in...But for now show me what you can do in blob form.", Ms. Wyatt said holding back her urge to facepalm.
Phoebe morphed back into her humanoid blob shape in a bit of confusion, attempting yet again to puzzle things out, connecting a few things Ms. Wyatt was saying to other things she'd observed.
"You're suggesting we put that thing in a school?" a male scientist's voice issued from Phoebe's mouth, taking up a similar disposition before flitting to another voice and posture.
"She's learning things, learning from us of all people; you don't think she's going to get the wrong idea? She needs to be taught properly!" Phoebe said in an insistent female scientist's voice.
"It's just copying things, it doesn't understand," the male returned insistently.
"She understands more than you give her credit for; she's a fundamental organism, learning is a part of a survival mechanism, and being around us has taught her there's a whole other world to adapt to; we've unwittingly gone past the point of no return, she needs to learn things properly or we might just accidentally create a monster with our carelessness," the female returned.
Phoebe looked like she sort of knew what she was saying -at least enough to connect it to what Ms. Wyatt seemed to be talking about, but it was pretty clear if she actually had a proper grasp on language she'd know what they were talking about.
"Ah I see, seems you are good at imitating, but what about original thought...you aren't just what the scientists made you...you are your own person...focus on crafting an identity for yourself...is any of this making sense?", Ms. Wyatt said.
For once Phoebe looked more thoughtful than confused, as she was fairly certain she understood what Ms. Wyatt said in a way, but as to how to respond was a little puzzling.
She raised a hand above her head and pointed directly down at herself.
"Phoebe," Phoebe said, a little uncertain, then paused for a moment and pointed as Ms. Wyatt, "Ms. Wyatt."
"I know you can identify who I am and who you are, but who...are you...your hopes, dreams, fears...who is Phoebe Smith.", Ms. Wyatt asked probing the ooze girl more.
More complicated words, Phoebe shrunk under the scrutiny and did her best to concentrate under pressure, but ultimately she hadn't the foggiest and there was no one around for her to copy or anything, so she literally had nothing to work with here.
Her form wobbled a bit under the scrambled thoughts and her eyes flitting back and forth, eventually resolving to try and shrink and make herself feel less significant right now.
"Perhaps that was too soon.", Wyat whispered, "Well then...guess we'll start with the basics...what can you do...what have the scientists taught you Phoebe...show me what you can do ooze girl." Wyatt took a seat and ran through the list of telepaths and more qualified counselors to deal with Phoebe.
Phoebe stabilized slowly and had a face of thought again, concentrating for a moment before talking in a scientist's voice again.
"Are you sure this thing even does anything? Surviving super pressure and cold isn't that amazing, there's a bunch of fish that do the same," one scientist's voice, "I mean it's just sitting there..."
"I dunno, we gave it a prod with a zapper earlier and it doesn't seem to work any more," another scientist's voice.
"What doesn't work?"
"Electricity in general it seems, after that first poke it's suddenly a perfect insulator," the other scientist replied.
"What, like, adapting to it?" the first scientist asked, a little confused, "That kinda stuff doesn't just happen spontaneously."
"Apparently it does," the other said, Phoebe shrugged with the statement.
"Adaptation...is that just for electricity or also for other things...we won't know what to improve on until you show me rather than tell me what you can do.", Ms. Wyatt said.
Phoebe sighed and almost visibly wracked her brain this time, bouncing on the spot as she tried to conjure what knowledge she had for an answer.
"Phoebe... Need... Stim..u...lus..." Phoebe said carefully, taking awhile to shape the letters as she spoke.
//hold that...still deciding what this is
"Stimulus you say...Wyatt said, "Anvil!", she said sharply, and the ceiling opened so an anvil could land on Phoebe. Wyatt felt a little bad about starting with the anvil, but she was already starting to think of the blob as an it rather than a she. But the scientist's memo said that the blob could easily repair itself.
DC 20 Toughness Save
After that you get Protection 4 + impervious
And Immunity to Pain...(just pain not damage) //figure this would only need low ranks in immunity
//almost knocked you out
//this was a nonlethal anvil...no wait...
//they'd use lethal stuff against students?
//let's call this a nonlethal anvil...somehow
"Amazing durability.", Ms. Wyatt said, she pressed a button on her remote and the anvil deflated. "This would be the famed adaptation then"
Phoebe had made a bit of a squeak as she had gotten flattened, her form crinkling from the impact but her body shifted a little and her form hardened.
"Ow..." Phoebe mumbled, rubbing her head but not overly bothered beyond that.
"Amazing!", Ms. Wyatt said to Phoebe, "Now to see if your adaptation has kicked in...Anvil!"
And with that another anvil fell from the ceiling onto the flattened Phoebe.
Toughness DC 20
You have protection now
Phoebe Toughness: 23
Phoebe preemptively flinched when Wyatt spoke the same word as last time that foreshadowed a bump on the head, but the anvil kind of just bounced off her head and clunked to the floor.
She cracked an eye open looking around, uncertain of what had just happened.
"You adapt to things fairly fast...now are you able to pull yourself together?", Ms. Wyatt asked.
With but a shrug, Phoebe's form ironed out the creases and she looked much the same primordial girl as before -though perhaps a bit more opaque and glassy from the recent adaptation.
"Remember what I said about forming your own identity. Well, just tell me when you're ready to try again.", Ms. Wyatt said.
"Phoebe learn," Phoebe said with a nod, but ultimately still looking a little lost in the grand scheme of things, as thousands of years of human evolution were a little difficult to catch up on, even at her rather prodigous learning speed.
"I'd suggest you learn to read, books can be very valuable, or watch some tv, learn about the world and where you reside in it.", Ms. Wyatt said.
"Alphabet!" Phoebe chirped cheerily with another nod.
//pretty much done, although she might try dropping more stuff on you
//let's wait for the others to finish
//so she has hardened and flattened
//bleh, I gotta keep remembering metaphors can be easily taken literally in a superhero game X.X
//sorry...in which she isn't actually flat
//was kinda my bad, I like metaphors, but everything's possible in this so its crazy. So nah, she's just cartoonishly crumpled from the impact of the anvil, but she'd be all better in a moment.
//she can heal off the bruised and stunned later I guess
//eh, the bruise'll heal pretty much instantly, the Staggered may take awhile pending on my luck...well I gotta go now...bye
//hm...what's the damage DC for a falling object?
//um... prolly adds its toughness and distance travelled or something...
//I'll say half the toughness of the object
//so tempted to drop an anvil on Phoebe right now...I'll argue it;s a dc 20 toughness
//I'm tempted to have wyatt smack her with a sledgehammer just to see what happens
//yeah bad idea...hm...what sort of stimulus
//well, if Wyatt already has a list or whatever of what Phoebe's been able to do written by the scientists, she'd know about the healing and the Adaptation, and those pretty require something to adapt to, or someone to heal
//is adaption just for enviromental adaptions?
//it's for everything, 20points worth up to rank 4 or something, once she gets hit by it, the GM generally throws together a few powers that'd help the character deal with what hit them, usually in the form of immunities and protections and whatnot
//cool...okay let's start with some light hits then
Needless to say, Alex steps onto the tile in question.
Alex blinks, "uhh... interesting?" Actually, he was confused and somewhat wondering how that didn't ruin any dimensional... things...
"So Alex Duran, you showed great potential during power placement, are there any goals or aspirations you have for power training?", Ms. Wyatt asked him.
Alex shrugs as he thinks about it, "Well, my power is different from the rest of my family, since I can conjure more then a couple types of weapons... So I suppose one goal would be to figure out exactly what I can or can't make with it."
"Ah right...another thing is whether you can use the weapon you summon, but let's focus on the first point for now.", Ms. Wyatt said to him. "Show me the most exotic form of weaponry you can summon." Ms. Wyatt stepped back to give Alex room to summon just in case.
Alex nods and, after a bit of thinking, conjures the most complex and strange weapon he ever created, and it looked like some sort of two-handed laser cannon with what appears to be four different kinds of crystals surrounding the muzzle of the cannon: yellow, a blue one that looks to be iced over, a firy red one, and a silver one, "This thing came in a dream once and I honestly have no clue how or why it works." If he was allowed to fire it somewhere, then the attack would be a sonic blast with fire, ice, and lightning circling around it. Each type would do 2 points of damage. Also (I'm considering this) if he figures out how it works, then he'll be able to attach elemental effects to his other weapons.
"As you might expect I'd like to see what that massive thing can do.", Ms. Wyatt said stepping out of the way as a target board rose from the floor against the far wall. SHe walked behind Alex. "Ready...aim...fire...", she said slowly to him.
Alex points the thing at the target and, after getting a decent lock on it, fires what sounds like a blast of sonic at the target. One could see three different colors surrounding the blast of sound just prior to it hitting the target, engulfing it with the powers of fire, ice, lightning, and sound at the exact same time.
"A bit excessive but effective.", Ms. Wyatt said to Alex. The target itself was destroyed by this but the back wall was fine.
"Yeah... I find it too excessive for my liking as well, but I figure if I can figure out how this weapon has elemental effects, then I can attach elemental properties to my weapons." Alex states simply while looking at it.
"This is your time, what would you like to practice? Or should I just have you summon more stuff.", Ms. Wyatt said.
For the sake of getting things moving. Alex did a bunch of things from weapon design, weapon usage, power control and even just figuring out how destructive he can make his weapons (he's a young boy, so of course things that go boom would be fun), such as a grenade launcher that fires a grenade into the air that splits apart into a bunch of smaller grenades.
//I wont be using this setting of the weapon atm purely because if it hits, it'll do 8 points of lethal damage. Whether Impervious needs to be at 3 or 9 I'm not sure though.
//it's seperate hits of 2 each so 3 impervious is enough to stop you
//wait how are you getting 2 points per 5 blasts? can I see the point breakdown?
//Lightning Blast Ice Blast
//Fire Blast Sonic Blast
//16 Weapon Summoner points ((2*2+)*4=16)
//Each one has two ranks each. So it's 4*4 and they're linked. I can make a weapon worth up to 20 PP and I figured 'most exotic' would be 'most destructive' since it's a weapon and well, this thing is VERY destructive against those without the proper defenses and luck.
each blast is 4 points and you have 4 of them so 16
weapon summoning gives you 2pp per rank for each weapon
//okay I see you have weapon creation
//posted go go go
Macabee Looked about.
Mac let out a short whistle, "So this is inside a dimensional paocket eh?"
"Indeed it is Miss Winchester. Now according to your files you are a metal controller...", Ms. Wyatt said, a set of metal ball bearings came out of the lone desk in the room. "Show me what you can do.", she said to Macabee.
The silver skinned girl threw her hand out to the frist ball bearing, then made eye contact with the frist and second. She began to atmept place the middle one about two feet above the desk and make the other two begn to revolve around the center.
"Good job, now it looks like you can easily move the balls, but can you levitate them?", Ms. Wyatt asked.
Mac focus her power to rasie the ball bearings above eye level, then increased the speed in the "moons" rotations.
"Now let's see what you can really do.", Ms. Wyatt said stepping behind Macabee and a series of targets rose from the floor. "Now hit these targets.", Ms. Wyatt said.
She looked to the targets and let loosed the ball bearings with a large push of force, as she pushed forward she atmepted to form the impacting sides into a triangular shape for peircing power.
Metal Control url=http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/4136661/]1d20+4=6[/url]
The ball bearing missed the target entirely smacking into the side wall and the ricocheting before losing momentum.
"We'll need to work on that...try again.", Ms. Wyatt said to Macabee.
Mac huffed then turned the next set into a thin long blade this time. "Here we go!"
The ball bearing still missed the targets.
"Try giving them a spin, that should stabilize the flight path.", Ms. Wyatt said.
Macabee yelled out in fustration, "Somthing must be wrong with these. I can do this!" She thrust both hands out this time taking into account the idea to spin the ball bearings.
The ball bearing hit the target this time but missed the center.
"You're doing better already, patience, these things take practice.", Mys Wyatt said, "I couldn't aim my powers when I first started either."
"I am better the closer the target is, I can make weapons kinda.." Macabee was trying to prove her worth.
"Ah weapons?...show me..", Ms. Wyatt said to her. A cylindrical slab of metal formed out of the desk in the center of the room. "Here, use this.", Ms. Wyatt said.
Macabee reached out and pulled the metal close, in her minds eyes she picked out a kick ass weapon. Altering the metal to a liquid form she then tried to form the metal into a sword she had seen from a movie, with a deadly curve of the egpytian feel.
"Good, good, shall we begin.", Ms. Wyatt said. Two rudimentary androids rose from the ground each held a simple dulled sword. And then they charged.
//do either of these hit? oh crap one sec how do i rol def?
//your defence is 10 + defense bonus10 +5=15
//okay only one hit...

Ms. Wyatt then teleported everyone back into the central room but the desks had gone away, instead a series of turrets were in the room. "We've all made wonderful progress...now to put those skills to the test...We're going to play dodgeball", she announced to the group.

The turrets began firing dodgeballs at the people who returned from their personal training.
That hit anyone?
Tara chuckled as a ball came flying at her though she nimbly evaded it. The angle was all wrong to hit here, though Tara wanted to show off a little bit as well.
//evaded? It didn't even come close to you... flavor text.
//wonder if I can uses a reflex to dodge...
A ball hit Derek on the back of his head the moment they arrived. He stumbled. "Gah! What? What what that for?"
"I said we were playing dodgeball...you guys vs the turrets.", Ms. Wyatt said to them.

Milly saw a dodgeball strike the wall behind her. She wasn't sure what this was about but still formed tennis racquets from her arms to try to deflect the dodgeballs.

Phoebe had very little idea of what the heck was going on now, as such could only stand there in utter befuddlement as dodgeballs bounced off her without challenge.
Tara meanwhile surged forward, wondering if she could possibly overload the turrets and cause a malfunction. As she ran, she removed a glove and let her electricity flow into the turret. The lessons on controlling her inner energy came back to her and she hoped she'd fry it.

The lens cracked a little and the gun emplacement began firing rapidly. the other turrets fired as well at the gang.

The turret Tara fried was none too happy with the situation and pointed it's gunbarrel straight at Tara. "Dodge this...", the glados voice said.

The one that Tara was busy draining still had power but seeing as others were out of it's reach it fired at Phoebe. The bowling ball bounced off and Phoebe didn't even look fazed.
The turret that Derek was on fired at Milly.
Milly: Injured+1, Stunned
Millyball's metal was dented a little by a flying bowling ball.
Mac continued stripping the armored shell away from the turret and then formed part of the metal she melted into a blade.
Millyball smashed into the turret again.
Milly still barely dented the side of the turret.
Tara meanwhile backed off, not wanting to be exploded again. She limped away and hoped that she wouldn;t catch another attack. Trying to overload the turrets would likely cause another explosion with her at ground zero.
Derek took the time that his first hit bought to ready himself for the second strike. He got out his claws, momentarily balancing with only his feet as he gave the machine a doubled slash.

And then the turrets all came crashing down. Ms. Wyatt pressed a button on her little remote and the wreckage vanished. "Very impressive students...you're learning to work with your powers...In time I would keep you longer but after that display of awesomeness, I think you boys and girls deserve a little rest. The rest of the day is individual power training. Remember to be back in the dorms by at least 10pm."
