Since I suddenly find myself with an excess of free time, I might just go ahead and do another game of RD. Before I bother with actually building the game, I'd like to see if there's any real interest in RD currently in Spam, since I know it fluctuates a lot. This means the earliest such a game would likely start is in, I don't know, two weeks minimum, probably longer than that. All I know for certain is that if I do make a game, it'll be normal format (no character sheets, no team shenanigans, just straight up killers vs everyone else) and actually have a player cap, unlike my GoT Doubt, because fuck dealing with another 40 person game. I've got tons of theme ideas I've considered, so I'll just list them for perusal with my thoughts on them.
Generic Fantasy Doubt - This is what I was planning on being my next one after GoT. It'd be roles like Wizard and Knight and so forth instead of specific characters from pre-existing media, and obviously it would be in a medieval setting.
Other generic Doubts - Could do a supernatural one, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, and... actually those are the only other generic ones I can think of that would work well.
Malazan Doubt - Would be based on the book series I'm reading, The Malazan Book of the Fallen; as much as I love the idea and know it would be no issue to make roles, I also know that almost nobody here has read the books so it wouldn't have the same thematic draw of other RD games. Probably not gonna happen for those reasons, sadly.
Wheel of Time Doubt - A less obscure book series I could make a Doubt game from. However, books being what they are, probably not enough general interest to make this a worthwhile theme.
Plain old Rabbit Doubt - No gimmicky stuff to fit a theme, just the bare bones roles and a bunch of chumps with no powers.
Breaking Bad Doubt - Ehhh, I don't think there's enough character variety here to make it work, but the idea crossed my mind so here it is.
Dexter Doubt - On the one hand I kind of want to do this since Dexter just had its series finale, but on the other hand Squee already did a Dexter themed game before so I feel like it would be a boring rehash.
Rehash GoT or Walking Dead Doubt - Probably not gonna happen due to a more intense anti-rehashing feeling, but it's still in the realm of possibility.
Other TV show themed Doubts - Only other one I can think of that I've watched and would work well is maybe Supernatural, but I'd rather do a generic genre one than TV show based for that. But maybe I'm forgetting some good shows that'd work for this, idk.
Thoughts on these listed themes or suggestions of ones you think would be cool are both welcomed and encouraged. If something I sorta shot down above gets a ton of interest, I'll probably go ahead with the idea despite my misgivings. If there's little to no response on themes but a decent number of interest votes, I'll likely do the generic fantasy idea since it's currently at the top of my list anyway, but we'll see what happens.
