The Guild Wars
SAO: TGW is an alternate universe RP set within the fictional world of Aincrad. The same rule applies, wherein if you die in-game you die in real life. However, the idea of this game is not to clear levels to reach the 100th floor. The populace of SAO have been automatically split into four different guilds. The idea is that each player levels themselves up and completes quests in a PvE segment of the game. But once a week the guilds face off against each other in the PvP segment of the game. PvP participation is a requirement for all players or they face an instant disconnection which results in death. These PvP matches will vary from straight-up Team Deathmatches and Capture The Flag game-types to Castle Defence and Supply Point Raids. Dying within these PvP matches still result in death, however, training matches can be set up which prevent players from dropping below Yellow Health and are instead frozen out of the match. Singular PvP matches are still available and can be both for real or training purposes. The overall plan is that the survivors of the winning guild after 16 weeks of PvP matches are free to leave. The rest are subsequently disconnected and die.
Hello and welcome to the OOC of Sword Art Online: The Guild Wars. First off, I would like to say thank you for opting to take part in my RP which I hope will be a raging ball of success and awesomeness. The second thing is a fact about this roleplay that you should all be aware of before posting your Character Sheets. This will be an RP with a mandatory PvP element. Meaning that it is possible, or rather, highly likely that your character will die. However, to counteract this aspect of the RP, I am allowing you to play as up to 4 characters at any one time. If one of them dies you are more than free to make another but I will be checking any new sheets to make sure that they aren't just clones of characters already passed. I am also keeping this RP open to newcomers for the time being. The roleplay will last for 16 weeks (in-game time) to encompass the full competition. The rate of which these weeks pass is dependant on how well each player writes as a team. Things like Boss Fights and Dungeon Clearing will obviously delay the coming of the PvP match at the end of each in-game week. I will try and push things along as smoothly as possible but sometimes you'll just have to take the initiative.
Please be sure to read the next pieces of information to fully understand how this RP will work. The sooner everybody understands, the quicker we will get to slash each other's characters to pieces!

Each character will be randomly placed into one of the four guilds within the game. You will have no choice in this selection and neither will I since I'll do it all via random dice roll. It will most likely occur that you'll have two or more characters in separate guilds so do not fret, it's supposed to happen. These are the four guilds and their respective Leaders;
Crimson Guardians of the Asylum
Lead by the headstrong; Sir Lucian.
Dragon Warriors of the Midnight Realm
Lead by the courageous; Forge-Master Aurelian
Fallen Lords of Othe
Lead by Arch-Magus Jongen, the wise.
The Legendary Ronin
Lead by Lady Aeron, the sinister.
Each guild will have one pre-made Leader. They will have the responsibility of running their respective guilds. They will lead the battles within PvP, issue orders during battle and consult with their officers in regards to tactics. All of which will have to be RPed. They will also organise their guild's participation in dungeon runs, boss events and training matches for the guild as well as issuing punishments and rewards/promotions if need be. As easy as it would be for me to play as all four Leaders, it would be unfair since I would effectively control which guild wins overall. So there is a possibility for anyone to play as these Leaders, however you must apply in advance to do so. As long as you PM me early enough, you will be free to write your chosen Leader's CS as you see fit.
There will be four officers per guild. These spaces will be left open at the start of the RP. It will be at the discretion of the Guild Leader to decide which players will be Officers. They cannot, however, choose one of their other characters unless my express permission is given due to an exceptional reason. These Officers will not only have the task of aiding the Guild Leader, but their main job will be to lead a separate squad for various missions, events and matches. The choice of players in each squad will be entirely up to the Officer and they will be able to choose their other characters freely. The size of the squad is also their choice but they must abide by any limitations set by certain events, match requisites or boss fights. The Guild Leader may not join any of these squads.
The rest of the guilds are made up of normal members. But just because you are classed as 'normal', doesn't mean you can't become exceptional. Spaces will need to be filled for healers, crafters, miners and even combat trainers amongst the many other skilled professions within SAO. They are the main populace of SAO and alone hold the ability to make sure their guild wins. Through teamwork and cooperation they can survive, win matches, defeat bosses and clear events. They also have the ability to mutiny against their Guild Leader or a certain Officer. They cannot change guilds once they have been allocated to one. They can, however, act as spies for other guilds but this would just be detrimental to their survival.
Guild Point-Score System:
At the end of the 16 weeks of play (in game) the guild with the most points wins. Points can be earned by many various means. The most amount of points awarded are from winning PvP Matches. These amounts will vary with each Game-Type. The second most amount of points awarded will then come from Clearing Dungeons, Defeating Bosses and Winning Events. After that, there are low-point awards for Skill Mastery, Max Leveling and Rare Item Drops. The full list of points to be awarded is as follows:
PvP Game-Type Awards
-Big Team Deathmatch = 35 Points
-Storm the Castle/Defend the Castle = 50 Points
-Capture the Flag = 25 Points
-Supply Point Raid = 20 Points
-Standard Team Deathmatch = 25 Points
PvE Bosses/Events/Dungeon Awards
-Standard Boss Fight = 12 points
-Mini Boss Fight = 10 Points
-Dungeon Clearance = 12 Points
-Dungeon Boss Fight = 15 Points
-Event First Win = 13 Points
-Event Boss Fight = 18 Points
-Mastery of a Skill = 5 Points
-Max Leveling = 6 Points
-Rare Item Drop = 8 Points
-Singular PvP Fight Win = 3 Points
-Killing a Guild Leader in PvP = 10 Points
-Killing an Officer in PvP = 6 Points
I will be paying close attention to Point Awards throughout this RP to make sure there is no foul play involved. Every point awarded will ultimately go through me. Please note that points can also be deducted at my discretion but only if there is absolute need for it. i.e. Cheating, Unnecessary Arguing, Trolling and other poor displays of behaviour.
Storm the Castle/Defend the Castle
This game-type rewards the winners with the highest amount of points within the game. This is because it is one of the most gruelling and terrifying games to play. The idea is that one team will be inside the walls of a castle, defending it's walls, whilst the other team mounts an assault on the single wooden door to gain entry and 'Storm the Castle'. To do this each team will have a certain goal they must achieve to win.
For the defenders; You must destroy, by a viable and accepted method, the Assault Ram that the attackers will be trying to knock the door down with.
For the attackers; You must knock down the door to gain entry to the castle and claim the opposing team's orb which is located at the central altar.
Both the Door and the Ram will have the same amount of health. The attacking team will have the struggle of pushing their ram to reach the door, whilst under defensive fire, before they can deal any damage to it. If they cannot reach the door within 6 accepted posts, the Ram is destroyed. The Ram, however, has a far superior attack to anything the defenders can throw at it. And so, if it is able to reach the door, it will be able to destroy it after only 3 accepted posts.
Until either the Ram or the Door are destroyed, both teams will have an infinite amount of respawns. When any one is destroyed, the respective team will no longer have any respawns and any further deaths will be permanent.
Exceptional Winning Conditions
If a Guild Leader opts to lead the attack and is slain before the Ram is destroyed, the attacking team instantly loses and the leading squad is killed immediately.
However, if the Guild Leader stays back, they can surrender the match 2 posts after the Rams destruction, potentially saving the lives of their guildmates.
Match Start Requisites
Each team must have (1) Guild Leader, (3) Officers & (3) Four-man Squads

Canon Skills List
In general, skills must be equipped in a limited amount of skill slots. A new player is given 1 extra slot beside 2 already filled slots, with more increments being rewarded after leveling up a few times. (1 new slot per 20 levels)
Custom Skills are accepted for this RP as long as they haven't already been covered in the Canon Skills List and they aren't incredibly OP. If you propose a new skill you must be willing to share the knowledge of that skill and how to obtain it with every other player in the RP. For the sake of ease, I will release Admin Messages throughout the RP notifying everyone of any new skills via this method.
Unique Skills, if custom created, must go through me first. You are not obliged to share your knowledge of these Unique Skills if you are cleared to have them. You must, however, take part in a Custom Solo Event to obtain this Unique Skill for your character.
Canon Unique Skills will be allowed in this RP as well. However, if you wish to have one, you must also take part in a Custom Solo Event to obtain it. If more than one player would like the same Canon Unique Skill, their respective characters must partake in Singular PvP Combat. The Winner's character will take the Unique Skill for themselves and the Loser's character will die.
Singular PvP Combat will be completely freeform and may be issued/challenged at any point after the initial First-Week Grace Period. Both parties must accept to the combat before any form of fighting commences, with the knowledge that if you lose, your character dies.
The winner shall be decided by the two players partaking in combat and may last for however long they see fit. Collaboration posts are highly recommended for larger posts but are not mandatory, however.
The fight shall not be interrupted by any outside players or occurrences unless priorly agreed upon by the players taking part.
Leveling your character will only be achievable by completing pre-set quests/missions. These quests will be sectioned into various different levels and may only be completed by characters who are at the required level. Missions will not be re-playable by the same character once the mission has been completed. On completion of the quest, the character will receive a reward of gold/item(s) and they will be leveled up. From there the character will have a new choice of missions/quests to choose from to attain a higher level with the rewards being scaled to suit.
The choice of missions to choose from will be of varying difficulties with the rewards suited to match. At level 1 there are two quests that will only boost you to level 3, two that boost you to level 4 and one that levels you straight to level 5.
Boss fights will generally be the highest available mission within the selection and will be of the hardest difficulty. There will be a chance of a Rare Item Drop but it may only be received once.
Dungeons won't be available until later in the game and they will not provide a level boost upon completion. They will, however, have more than one Rare Item Drop.
You will need to update your Character Sheets for as long as your character is alive. I will be making a CS Thread for this before the start of the RP but for the time being, feel free to post them here.
