The Elusive and The Harmonious / / Enter The World_
With a quick snap of her neck, Natazume pushed her keycard into the slot and pushed her way into the apartment building which wasn't too far from her university. Natazume had spent the last five hours hunched over a desk taking furious notes and quizzes. They were some the painful side effects of being in school which made her sometimes question her real commitment to becoming a teacher. But since she hadn't another route to go anywhere else in life, she supposed she had to buckle down and suck it up. Rubbing her neck, she put her keycard in her mouth as she grabbed her mail from the box on her left and headed upstairs to her flat. She didn't share it with anyone, though it meant she had to work nearly full time to pay for it. She would pay for two thirds of her school, while her parents agreed to pay for a third of it. She spit out her keycard once she had rubbed her neck long enough to ease the most annoying soreness and then used it again to open her door and let herself in. She dumped the mail on the table and looked around. It was a chilly, gray afternoon. She knew the forecast was predicting rain so she was glad to be home.
Natazume Uede had a one bedroom apartment which overlooked a small park in the main shopping district of Tokyo. She had a small kitchen and a living room. Then in another room, she had a bathroom and bedroom. Nothing else, and she liked the coziness. Natazume put a kettle on for tea and walked over to the foggy window and looked outside. There were a few people walking around, taking photos of the serene setting. She smiled to herself and pushed herself off to her room where her desk was, neat and tidy. She turned on her PC and headed back to check on her tea. Usually she was full of warm cheer and optimism but after a dark and confusing event, she found herself disconnected from real life. Her friend, Minori had been placed in the local hospital after a sudden collapse while playing The World. Natazume was told there was absolutely no connection but she wasn't convinced. Nata poured the hot water into a cup and added a tea bag and brought it back with her to her desk, for now tea would suffice as lunch. She wanted to log into The World and figure out what was going on.
Considering it was a Friday afternoon, she plenty of time to play before going to work the next morning. Natazume slipped her goggles on and logged in, now taking on her persona known as: Elusive. She quickly hopped onto the Boards, as no new emails had caught her eye. She scanned the mass of new threads and posts. Elusive recalled the event very vividly in her mind, it had only happened three days ago but after much contemplation, she thought it was best to leave a note to see if anyone knew Minori and what had happened. So she opened up a New Thread box and began to type:
Then she wrote another:Topic: Friends of Slixr!
Hello! Slixr is my friend in real life, sadly she is unable to access her account for the time being due to personal reasons. If you have any questions, I may be able to help out, but my knowledge is limited. Feel free to shoot me an email or find me in The World. - Elusive
She posted both new threads and logged into The World. She found herself standing at the Gate in Mac Anu. She enjoyed the root town very much, it bathed in gold and light, trapped in an eternal sunset. Or sunrise, depending on how you looked at it, but she prefer a sunset. Not sure why. She headed down the steps and saw many players conversing and trading, many planning personal quests and adventures. She felt a little sad, as many of her online friends were either Busy or Offline which meant she could go off on her own, which was generally a bad idea for a Wavemaster or she could strike up a new friendship, somehow. She headed up to the large bridge and leaned off of one of the sides. Looking down at the digital water, she saw her reflection become a bit blurred with the waves. She looked down the canal and saw some young looking characters playing down by the steps where they could go into the water. Smiling to herself, she spun around and propped herself against it, enjoying the comfort while unable to shake the nagging guilt welling up inside of her.Topic: Strange Monster Sighting = Danger!?
Me and my friend, Slixr were at Delta: Bursting Passed Over Aqua Field and were poking around the dungeon when a strange girl in white flew by us. We followed to investigate and found ourselves in some sort of glitch. We were up able to leave or anything. A monster then appeared which looked like a red cross, my friend was attacked and before I could do anything, a wand flew out of nowhere and I was suddenly Logged Out of the game. When I called my friend to check on her, she didn't answer. I found out the next day that she had fallen into a coma. I'm just curious as to what people think about this. Are they related or coincidental? Has anyone seen what I'm talking about or have I gone totally nuts? - Elusive
It wasn't until she saw a blinking notification in the upper left side of her screen that she snapped out of her trance. She logged out of The World and saw one of the threads had been deleted, the one about the monster and the girl. Weird. And annoying. She simply continued to backtrack until she reached her emails on her desktop. She pulled off her goggles and grabbed the cup of tea and took a big gulp, unaware of how hungry she was actually getting. Natazume opened her application and saw she had two new emails, one was relating to school but the other was from another user by the name of Harmonious. He seemed to know Slixr as well and expressed interest in meeting up in Mac Anu to talk about what had happened. Then mentioned the quickly deleted thread about the monster and area. Now she was even more interested. She quickly sent a reply saying she would log on in ten minutes. After hitting Send, she dashed back to her kitchen and quickly made herself a plate of leftovers and ate them quickly. After such a long morning, she needed plenty of fuel to keep going.
When her stomach couldn't indulge anymore, she took another drink of tea and logged back into The World. She grabbed her controller and adjusted the goggles and Elusive took down the steps, looking around for someone named Harmonious. Spinning around, Elusive became a bit dizzy so she stopped and just waited on the bridge, knowing it may be the best vantage point for spotting out a user.
