Osmond’s Institute is known by very few. It exists in a small town called Orrace, Orrace lays between realities, between worlds and alternate worlds. It is inhabited only by those who cannot exist in any proper society. The mentally insane get sent here the beings with minds so twisted and messed up that society can’t handle them. The people who get sent to mental institutions whose family doesn’t visit and who are continuously find themselves in solitary with only their dark thoughts to keep them going get sent here. The criminals who do terrible things with no remorse, ones who would kill without even batting an eyelid get sent here. They all start off in Osmond’s institute, the ones that make the most progress get sent out of the institute to live in the city, but no one ever gets sent back.
The town itself is shrouded in darkness, the sun never shines, murder and mayhem are a regular daily occurrence. The houses are fit to be condemned, the school practically deserted. There is a police station with a sheriff and an officer who constantly tries to bring order to the chaos, but always seem to fail. There are good people that have seen the error of their ways, but not many. Most have minds that are so twisted that the only thing in life to bring them any sense of pleasure is causing destruction, hurting others or hurting themselves both physically and mentally.
The institute is run by what looks to be proper doctors and nurses who, if they have anything wrong with them, it doesn’t show. Of course that’s not the case but I can’t tell you everything. Things happen in the institute that can’t be explained, tortured souls linger in the hallways, in the bedrooms, some antagonize, trying to stop those there from getting better and others that try to help.
Because Orrace is between worlds it means that it is very multi-racial be it human, vampire, werewolf, demon or anything else you can come up with. Your character can also be from any time period as long as he/she is afflicted with some kind of mental instability. I’d like it if there were no characters under 17 please.
You can go all out here; the more messed up the better. If you want to play as a townie, an officer, the sheriff, a doctor or nurse let me know. Feel free to double up and try to have at –least- three good paragraphs. I’ll be NPC’ing Osmond and others to keep it interesting and doing some Story telling as well as playing proper characters so hopefully no one gets bored!

Name: Zacharias "Zacky" Mack
Gender: Sexless, but thinks of himself as male.
Mental Affliction: As it is stated: “Completely un-triek like, refuses to co-operate.”
Bio: First I should go into a brief history of the triek race. Trieks were created in a lab. They were meant to be the instruments of war: fast, hungry, quick healing, ferocious, adaptable and intelligent. Of course, the creators did not entirely trust their creations, and trieks had a flaw: Trieks are sexless. In fact, it may be more accurate to say that the real species is a virus that needs a host. Needless to say, the trieks relied on the scientists to increase their numbers. The plan backfired when a group of clever trieks did rebel and took the phlebotinum of the knowledge about how to use it with it.
Now we can focus on Zacky, who at this time was a junior in college in New England. Zackarias Mack was a music fanboy and had a passion for radio, as well as a killer radio name and a voice that should have belonged to a much larger man. He worked the coveted morning shift at the school radio station, and he was taking the rural route there. The radio station was located on a hill at the edge of the campus and the short way to get there was through a stand of trees. Suddenly there was a bright flare in the sky- a huge flash. A huge tail of fire was falling from the sky, and it looked like it would land right on top of him. Instead it landed several yards away.
Zacky was curious and fearless, so it was no question that he went to investigate the place where the comet had fallen. He found it in a crater- a small, metallic object. He picked it up and turned it in his hands for a while trying to make sense of it. Suddenly it exploded in his hands, though not with so much force to lacerate him. A fine, white dust was not over his arms and face. Zacky tried to gather up some of the pieces of the object but they kept disintegrated further in his hands. Finally Zacky gave up. He had found something amazing, but he would never be able to share it.
Back in the studio he quickly cleaned up then started his shift. Halfway through the shift he started to feel sick, but like a trooper kept going on. He was glad to trudge on home, however, and get in bed. He discovered the first signs of change when he awoke: Strange growths on his back and face, an aching in his bones he hadn’t felt since he had been going through puberty. Terrified he went to the hospital. Doctors were baffled.
During his stay Zacky changed even more, becoming something that didn’t even look human. Even his senses of vision and taste were altered. To avoid despair, Zacky found God. He started reading the bible and spending time in the chapel.
Zacky’s case wasn’t unique: all over the world there were stories about people who were slowly metamorphosing. Worse, the other victims showed extreme changes in personality. Zacky followed the news reports and wondered how much time he had before he’d stop being Zacky entirely. A certain panic built up among the populace and people started to wonder if they would be next. The media was all over it, explanations were named off by expert after expert. A few questions were answered when the trieks made contact with the human race. They told human leaders that the changlings suffered from a intergalactic virus that only they could treat, and they must take the changelings with them to their space station.
So Zacky and hundreds of others were taken by the trieks, but they quickly learned that they had no intention of changing them back. The virus the trieks had mentioned were under their control, so to speak. Trieks were immune to it, but when it entered the system of an organism that wasn’t immune it lodged itself in each one of the cells and reorganized the DNA for its own purposes. The now that the humans were triek in body it was time to change their minds as well. The brainwashing begun, with restricted diets and exposure to Triek nationalism. For most the changelings it worked, since most of them were already thinking like trieks. But only Zack’s body had changed- not his mind. Who can say why? Maybe his body was fighting the virus, or maybe it had to do with his faith. To be sure, his experience with the trieks only deepened his faith. And when one of his eyes reverted to the human structure he felt even better.
The trieks didn’t. As far as they saw it, a triek who still denied being a triek at this point was insane. The Grand Triek heard that there was a universe with a reformatory hospital and sent Zacky there to regain his triek sanity.

He's one of these creatures, but one of his eyes is human in color and shape- white sclera with an iris and a pupil. He wears an eyepatch over his other eye, which is glowing red. He wears any human clothing he can- usually the hospital scrubs with modified backs. He stands upright most of the time.
Any Extras you'd like to add: His voice is very deep and guttural, but he pronounces human syllables fine. His red eye actually sees in heat vision, but it gives him a headache to see in two ways so he usually keeps an eye patch over his alien eye. The quills on his back are a double- he smells with them and they pick up vibrations concerning the placement of the space around him so that he can navigate in the dark just fine.
Fears: Now his biggest fear his losing himself and his personality to the trieks. What they could do to his family in the future also worried him. He still doesn’t like flying and is very uncomfortable on an air or space craft.
Name: Keelan White
Age: Between 600-900 Years
Race: Tamed unicorn
Orientation: Asexual and aromantic, with one exception.
He was quite vicious before and very hard to deal with unless you had a particular trait. Dr. Wylde has done her miracle work, however, and now's he's a productive member of society. That doesn't stop some from saying that Keelan still belongs back in the hospital on the hill, however. He enjoys keeping himself and his work area clean- certainly this shows how far he has come. And just because Keelan prefers the company of the younger crowd does not make him a pedophile.
Dysophobia- An extreme fear of germs and infection.
Genophobia- Anxiety and fear regarding sex, and even romantic feelings.
Retrograde Amnesia- His memories of life before being in Osmonds are foggy at best. No doubt this is Dr. Wylde's doing.
A variant of Stockholm syndrome...Even years after being released from the hospital, Keelan has positive feelings for the person who tamed him- even while hating and being terrified of her. Keelan even experiences lust for Dr. Wylde, which is especially problematic with his genophobia. In truth, Keelan worships the good doctor.
Personality: He seems wussy, but in reality he's not afraid of anyone, just the germs they might carry. If he has a good enough reason he will fight. However he doesn't believe in defending himself- his reason would have to be some altruistic purpose and completely justified. He's soft spoken and the closest thing to a swear he'll say is "Oh, sugar." He can actually be fairly playful and affectionate.
Bio: Don't even bother asking how the unicorn came to trod upon the earth. If unicorns remain chaste all their lives, how do new unicorns come about? Don't even think about it. We will start in the unicorn's adulthood. He used to roam India, was captured and taken on a ship to France, escaped by tearing apart all of its jailers and wandered into the wilderness. It would later be spotted many times from afar, and those that would get too near would be torn apart. Those who knew about the unicorns hunted it- partially because of its valuable horn, but mostly because it was such a terror.
He was a Medieval unicorn. The medieval unicorns sort of combine all traits of the ancient monoceroses and modern unicorns. Monoceroses were big, fierce brutes with astounding strength. They were impossible to tame, and they would attack viciously and suddenly with little or no provocation. Modern unicorns are pure and magical, but frail. Medieval unicorns were strong and fierce and impossible to tame, but pure as well. That is so to say, the unicorn was chaste for most of his years. The theme of chastity also had to do with who he attacked, for while his power could be turned against any species, he actually adored virginal creatures.
Well, non-virgins are more common than virgins, this is especially true in a hospital like Osmonds were most of the patients have seen the darker side of life. And this was why the unicorn was such a terror back when he was a patient. Dr. Wylde put an end to that, though. No one really knows what took place between Dr. Wylde and the fierce beast behind closed doors, nor did anyone ask- patients and staff alike were relieved. The unicorn was calmer, even non-violent. Some even thought he was meek. He didn't seem 100% right, but he wasn't tearing people apart anymore, and that had been the problem, wasn't it? The unicorn was released into the community of Orrace.
When the unicorn entered Osmond s, he was a vicious equine.
When he left Osmond's, he was a meek humanlike being. And now he had a name: Keelan White.
When he left the hospital, his horn had been filed down almost to the skull. Dr. Wylde had removed it for "health purposes". Now he hides his horn with his long pinkish bangs. It keeps trying to grow back. When it reaches a length of five inches or so, it becomes too uncomfortable for him to wear and he visits a physician. The physician removes the horn down and sends in a baggy to a mysterious P.O. box. The P.O. box belongs to Dr. Wylde.
Keelan got a job at a dry cleaners, steaming and folding clothes. It seems to calm him. On the weekends he visits the park where the children play. His affectionate behavior to the children puts the parents on their guard, which makes Keelan sad. His home is stark- everything starched and clean, everything a pristine white and, in fact, while at home he entertains himself with cleaning. He avoid news, media, and popular culture. His life continued in this safe but comfortable way until he received a call.
Dr. Wylde's voice was on the other end "Patient White. You owe me a favor."
Any Extras you'd like to add: Keelan has prodigious physical strength. Once the Christian God was even said to have the strength of a unicorn. Keelan isn't a god- he is more like a superman. It can be rather surprising to see this apparently frail man perform the feats he does. Unicorns also have healing and regenerative abilities. He can heal others with the stub of his horn- perhaps this is why Dr. Wylde asked him to come back.
When his horn grows longer, he becomes more reactive and angry, though not nearly as volatile as his old self. It would have to grow over two feet long for something like that to happen. Keelan no longer hates non-virgins, but doesn't like them either. He puts up with them. His affection toward children is mostly because he can sense their chastity- though he doesn't realize it. Occasionally he's friendly with an adult as well if they are virginal.
His favorite color is white, though his fascinated by the color black.
Fears: Sex, germs, Dr. Wylde.

Name: Henrietta Croce
Race: werewolf. (Henrietta became a werewolf at age 20)
Origins: A alternate earth. Setting 20th century equivalent.)
Quirks: Henrietta has a obsession with animal treats, Milkbone biscuits in particular. She will also go to extreme (if allowed) to avoid people before and doing her transformation out of fear she may lose control and harm or kill and out of guilt over events in her past. Henrietta was rendered unable to bare children before coming to the Osmond Institution.
Mental Affliction: Henrietta suffers from severe psychosis as a result of several underlying issues including Bipolar 1 disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, mental trauma she suffered after witnessing her family’s horrific death and the subsequent chronic drug abuse she lapsed into following these events. She experiences periods of Major Depressive Disorder during which she eats or drinks very little nourishment and prefers to be left completely alone as she (at the time) feels no one can do anything to help her feel or get better during those dark periods. Henrietta also experiences vivid full sensory hallucinatory (waking dreams) in which she relives her family’s horrific death in addition to her own near death experiences.
Henrietta can go from being very energetic, friendly, outgoing and creative to being rather depressed, lethargic and unsocial. This cycle called a (mixed episode,) can happen in a swift progression, termed as rapid cycling, but is generally spaced further apart. She also suffers from reoccurring, severe cravings for amfetamines and cocaine, which she first took while attending college. She often feels acute guilt that she survived being horrific car accident that killed the rest of her family and later surviving a attack by a werewolf. She also feel guilt over the lives she took upon her first transformation, but no guilt over the people she killed later while she was held for study at a research/evaluation facility.
Additional note regarding Acute Stress Disorder: During the time she experiences ASD episodes, Henrietta has symptoms of anxiety, and has significant impairment in essential areas of functioning. When her ASD occurs, the symptoms can last for a minimum of 2 days, and a maximum of 4 weeks. Information was forwarded by a unknown source that Henrietta's disorders were only briefly treated previous to her recent arrival at Osmond's.
Additional notes regarding Major Depressive Disorder: Henrietta also suffers from a severe subtype of Major Depression Disorder (MDD) which is known as, Melancholic Depression. Melancholic Depression is generally characterized by anhedonia (the inability to find any pleasure in positive things), weight loss, insomnia, early morning awakenings, and guilt.
Personality: Henrietta was kind heated, caring, and soft spoken. She was also generally cheerful, and she was quite talkative and social toward friends and even to strangers, to an extent. She could also be quiet and reserved/polite, when need be. A very intelligent, studious girl, Henrietta generally excelled in whatever she set her mind at. However, since the deaths of her sibling and parents, the chronic drug abuse that followed their deaths, later becoming a werewolf and the subsequent events which followed, Henrietta has developed a myriad of mental disorders that have greatly affected her overall personality.
History: Henrietta’s father, a recently divorced museum curator from Birmingham, met her mother, who was born in Liverpool and was also recent divorced herself, while on a leisure trip to Leeds. As fate would have it the chance encounter resulted in love at first sight for both Henrietta’s eventual father and mother and they were married one week later. Shortly thereafter the newly married couple returned briefly to Sheffield, before moving to Manchester when both were offered jobs as curators with museums located in the city.
Henrietta, along with her twin sister, Triela, was born at 12:01 am on ST Patrick's Day in Manchester, England exactly one year after their parents were married. Henrietta and her sister lived a comfortable life, having their needs being fulfilled and many of their wants as well and attending one of Manchester's best schools. This lifestyle quality was afforded to Henrietta and her sister because both their parents were being well employed as curators at two of Manchester’s best museums, with her father working at the People's History Museum and her mother being employed by the Manchester Museum, where they worked until their untimely deaths in an automobile accident one rather ordinary summer's day.
The accident which claimed the lives of Henrietta’s parents and her twin sister, Triela, occurred just one week after the family had celebrated their daughter’s graduation from high school. As fate would have it, the small car the family was riding in, was struck broadside by a driver in a articulated lorry, who, while talking on his cell phone, failed to see a red light and drove through the intersection striking the vehicle Henrietta and her family were riding in. After recovering from her injuries, Henrietta went to live with an aunt and an uncle for a time before moving to London to attend King's College London, and try to return her life to some normality. When not studying at King's College, she enjoyed a limited social life, Henrietta also worked at a small tea house located near the university.
As a student, Henrietta did very well for some time, despite fighting a losing battle against depression over the loss of her family. Over time, however, she started to do less well in her studies and at her job and was close to being dismissed from school and losing her job at one point. Searching desperately for a means by which to feel more cheerful in general and to improve her school and work performance, Henrietta began to experiment with various amfetamines and cocaine. While the drugs did boost her performance and a (false) sense of well being and happiness, as with such things, Henrietta eventually became addicted to the drugs. This led her to lose her job and her scholarship at King’s College.
Following this sad chain of events, Henrietta moved back to Manchester, England. It was there on a lonely, cold December night that her life took another very dramatic turn. As Henrietta was driving back to her tiny one bedroom m apartment from another drug rehab session, she struck what she thought was a large, but normal dog. This however was not the case and as Henrietta exited her vehicle to check the damage and call for help, she was savagely attacked and mauled by the (dog,) which was somehow still quite alive. Henrietta’s life was saved when for a unknown reason her attacker suddenly ran away.
Henrietta’s luck, or so she thought, held as another motorist happened upon the scene a short time later ad Henrietta was rushed to hospital. Her recovery was amazingly rapid and the doctors and specialist at the hospital and those brought in to assist were all baffled by Henrietta’s progress. One month later when the moon became full, Henrietta experienced her first change into a werewolf. Doing this event, she rampaged through the hospital, killing and seriously injuring g many patients, staff and guest. Upon escaping into some nearby woods, Henrietta awoke the next morning laying near a small stream, her otherwise unclothed body streaked with blood. To add to matters, Henrietta was fully aware of what she had done and this drove her to eventually turn herself in to the police.
To Henrietta’s surprise, she was not killed immediately by the police. Instead she was taken to a (special) facility where Henrietta was examined by a vast multitude of doctors, researchers and specialist of many field including the psychiatric. This (study) went on for some time and Henrietta eventually grew to hate her (tormentors.) One summer night while being led back to her small room from a psychiatric session, Henrietta turned on her attendant (nurse) and savagely attacked him. As fate would have it, the night was one of a full moon and Henrietta had (changed) while not confined and or in her room. Deciding o have her vengeance, Henrietta made her way through the faculty, leaving a trail of dead and or horribly maimed and savaged staff members and security personnel in her wake.
Her freedom was quite short lived, however, as she was captured a few days later. After Henrietta was quickly transported to another, more secure location, government officials contacted Osmond's and made the arrangement to have Henrietta sent there. No reason was given officially for why Henrietta was not killed, but she privately speculated that her life was spared because her family, her father’s family to be more precise, was a very old and quite well respected family in England. Henrietta having just arrived at Osmond’s, has yet to meet any of the other patients as she has been confined to her room since arrival.
Name: Elsa De Sica
Race: Human-with cybernetic enhancements.
Origin: Rome, Italy, An alternate Earth, 21st Century.
Mental Affliction(s): Elsa suffers from severe psychosis, the results of several underlying issues including the abuse suffered while kidnapped and held prisoner as a child and then her later ‘conditioning’ while being trained as a assassin in a government program. Though not nearly as acute as some others, Elsa does occasionally suffer from episodes of acute stress disorder. She suffers from episodes of PTSD and SPD additionally. Elsa experiences vivid full sensory hallucinatory (waking dreams) in which she relives her imprisonment and later her last mission in great detail in addition to her own past near death experiences...
Additional notes regarding Schizoid personality disorder. Elsa suffers from the personality disorder known as Schizoid personality disorder or SPD... Schizoid personality disorder is characterized by a lack of interest in social relationships, a tendency towards a solitary lifestyle, secretiveness, and emotional coldness. SPD is not the same as schizophrenia, although they share some similar characteristics such as detachment or blunted affect and there is increased prevalence of the disorder in families with schizophrenia... Elsa's conditioning and time as a assassin was the main catalsyt more her developing of SPD.
Additional notes regarding PTSD: Posttraumatic stress disorder is classified as an anxiety disorder, which is characterized by aversive anxiety-related experiences, behaviors, and physiological responses that develop after exposure to a psychologically traumatic event (sometimes months, even years after). Its features persist for longer than 30 days, which distinguishes it from the briefer acute stress disorder... These persisting post-traumatic stress symptoms cause significant disruptions of one and or more important areas of life function. It has three sub-forms: acute, chronic, delayed-onset. Elsa has delayed PTSD.
Personality: Elsa is normally a very calm, quiet and generally reserved girl, with another friendlier, more outgoing side to her personality. Elsa was as a child and up until the time of her kidnapping, imprisonment and the subsequent mental, physical and other abuses she suffered, a very friendly and outgoing girl, making friends easily. However, following her imprisonment and her life after that time, Elsa is far less trusting of others and is far less outgoing, friendly and sociable then in her past, except to her fratello. This new side to her personality can unfairly cause her to be seen by others as being unfriendly and or quite cold at times... If Elsa were to becomes close to someone or more then one person again, Elsa could then show her deep sense of loyalty and trust to that/those person(s).
History/Bio: Elsa’s young father, a widowed member of the Italian government’s Council of Ministers, met her mother, she a divorced award winning actress, originally born in Tokyo, Japan, while both were on a leisure vacation in London, England... As fate would have it, this chance encounter resulted in love at first glance for both Elsa’s eventual father and mother and so they were married a week later. Shortly thereafter the marriage ceremony, the newly married couple returned to Italy and purchased a large 8 bedroom-4 bathroom home with a large yard with indoor/outdoor pools in Rome’s most affluent neighborhood.
Elsa, along with her sisters, Riko and Anjerika, and her brother, Maruko, were born in Rome exactly 9 months to the day after their parents were married... Elsa, her brother, sisters and their parents lived a very comfortable life, having all of their basic needs fulfilled and a the vast majority of the children's wants as well. This well to do lifestyle was afforded to Elsa, her brother and her sisters because both their parents were being employed in extremely well paying work in the Italian political and the acting communities respectively.
The young family traveled, when they could, taking trips in the winter to Switzerland, also visiting England, France, Germany, Spain and others during Elsa’s childhood. Elsa showed herself to be a bright child at a early age and was well on her way to mastering several languages by her 12th birthday. Having attended two of Rome’s most prestigious private all girls and all boys, respectively, Elsa, her sisters and her brother, were also well versed in music, arts/performance and literature(s) of their present day and the classics as well.
When Elsa was 13 years of age, she was kidnapped by the Italian Mafia and was sent to Amsterdam, Holland, to be worked in various black market film projects; including the last project she was forced to be a part of, a snuff film... It was at that time that Elsa was rescued as part of a raid against black market film operations by the Holland branch of a international task force set up to combat such projects. Among the team members that day was a ex-member of a agency known as ‘The Child Welfare Agency” or the “CWA” for short. This man, James Hillshyre, by name, used his contacts within the CWA to have the badly injured Elsa taken back to Italy and was placed in the CWA’s ‘rehabilitation’ program.
Following a long hospital stay and a lengthily and difficult recovery period, Elsa was then fitted with cybernetics and she began her ‘conditioning’ and training as a assassin for the CWA. As a result of the intensive program, Elsa became a very skilled assassin, as most did who were placed into the program, and in her case a rather excellent sniper... Elsa was subsequently assigned to train specifically in that area and thereafter she excelled, surprising even those who had saw her potential early on in her training and development.
The Agency that ‘rescued’ Elsa was, the "Child Welfare Agency”, ostensibly a charitable institution sponsored by the Italian government. While the Agency professes to aid in the rehabilitation of the physically injured, it was in reality a military organization specializing in counter-intelligence and counter-terrorism operations. The CWA is/was composed of two independent branches: #1-Public Safety, its surveillance and intelligence-gathering division, and #2-Special Ops, the anti-terrorist division. Special Ops is itself divided into Sections 1 and 2, the latter of which employs young girls fitted with cybernetic implant.
The main implants, which consisted of implants deigned to heighten eyesight and hearing, synthesized muscles and carbon fiber frames, result in heightened strength and reflexes, eyesight and hearing as well as high resilience to damage and pain. Each girl is paired with a male trainer, or "handler", and together the pair are referred to as a fratello— Italian for "brother". The handler is responsible for the training, the welfare and the field performance of his charge, and is free to use whatever methods he considers suitable. These methods varied according to each girl’s handler, however a large section of each girl's regimen was brainwashing called "conditioning", which results in a deadly assassin with unquestioning loyalty. The 'conditioning' could result in serious mental issues later on, as it did with Elsa.
Four years after being introduced into the CWA’s program and becoming a assassin for the Italian Government, Else suffered a catastrophic mental breakdown and she turned on her handler and other members of the eight member team of which she was a part of during a raid against a high profile Mafia target in Florence, Italy... Before she was finally subdued, Elsa was able to kill all of the other handles and badly injured many of her teammates. The CWA’s policy, up to that point, had been to dispose of ‘agents’ that suffered from mental illnesses, especially if said mental illness revealed themselves during a ‘mission’ and, in the worst case scenario, resulted in friendly casualties and or deaths during those ‘episodes.’
Unknown to Elsa, her handler survived, just barely with severe injuries, but had survived nonetheless. Using his influence as a long standing member in the agency, he being the agencies chief’s youngest son, Elsa’s handler convinced his aging father to send Elsa to Osmond’s, not fully knowing of the facility’s true nature and seeing it as a place where Elsa could, hopefully, receive the help she badly needed, help the CWA and the Italian Government did not have any desire to render. Succumbing to his son’s wishes although grudgingly; his father contacted Osmond’s and arranged for Elsa to be delivered there. Adjustment disorder (AD) is a psychological response to an identifiable stressor or group of stressors that cause(s) significant emotional or behavioral symptom(s) that does not meet criteria for anxiety disorder, PTSD, or acute stress disorder... This is different from anxiety disorder, which lacks the presence of a stressor, post-traumatic stress disorder and acute stress disorder, which usually are associated with a more intense stressor(s). Its common characteristics include the following.... mild depressive symptoms, anxiety, traumatic stress symptoms or a combination of the three
Brief Reactive Psychosis..., referred to in the DSM IV-TR as "Brief Psychotic Disorder with marked stressor(s)", is the psychiatric term for a psychosis which can be triggered by an extremely stressful event in a patient’s life... Brief Reactive Psychosis is characterized by delusions, hallucinations, catatonic symptoms, and strange speech, but the symptoms last for a short period (one day to one month) after which the individual returns to normal.
Nightmare disorder, also known as 'dream anxiety disorder', is a disorder characterized by frequent nightmares. The nightmares, which often portray the individual in a situation that jeopardizes their life or personal safety, usually occur during the second half of the sleeping process, called the REM stage.
Oneirophrenia is a hallucinatory, dream-like state caused by several conditions such as prolonged sleep deprivation, sensory deprivation, or drug(s) (such as ibogaine)... From the Greek words "ὄνειρο" (oneiro, "dream") and "φρενός" (phrenos, "mind"). It has some of the characteristics associated with schizophrenia, such as a confusional state and clouding of consciousness, but without presenting the dissociative symptoms which are typical of this disorder. Persons affected by oneirophrenia have a feeling of dream-like unreality which, in its extreme form, may progress to delusions and hallucinations. Therefore, it is considered a schizophrenia-like acute form of psychosis which remits in about 60% of cases within a period of two years. It is estimated that 50% or more of schizophrenic patients present Oneirophrenia at least once.
Parasomnias are a category of sleep disorders involving abnormal/ unnatural movements, behaviors, emotions, perceptions, and dreams that occur while falling asleep, sleeping, between sleep stages, or during arousal from sleep. Most Parasomnias are dissociated sleep states which are partial arousals during the transitions between wakefulness and NREM sleep, or wakefulness and REM sleep.
Psychosis (from the Ancient Greek ψυχή "psyche", meaning mind/soul, and -ωσις "-osis", meaning abnormal condition) is a abnormal condition of the mind, and "loss of contact with reality". People suffering from psychosis are described as psychotic. Psychosis is given to the more severe form(s) of psychiatric disorder, during which hallucinations and delusions and impaired insight may occur. Simone began suffering more psychotic episodes following two severe head injuries just prior to arriving at St Osmond’s.
Personality: Simone is a generally a quiet person who does not engage in conversation(s). Despite the outward appearance(s), Simone is not unfriendly, more so she has never been called upon, asked, or thought to speak much beyond what was asked of her, and needed in her former life... During her imprisonment, a little more of her persona emerged, showing Simone to be friendly, if she felt drawn to someone, although still not an overly talkative creature. Simone also showed flashes of a quiet, but fierce anger. Simone is a determined being, highly intelligent, confident in her abilities but also keenly aware of her weaknesses.
Abilities: Simone posses eyesight, hearing, sense of smell, dexterity, stamina, quickness, regeneration, and strength equal to, or in excess of werewolves, and equal, possibly, with those traits in a vampire. Simone is capable of flight when she shifts forms. Simone is not immune to death, as she can be killed by another of equal or higher abilities, if she suffers enough brain traumas, her head is cut off, or she goes long enough with lycan blood or a synthetic substitute. Simone is able to eat and or drink normal foods and beverages, and can taste them, but they do not provide her with nourishment they do they do in humans.
History: Simone did not have what could be considered a normal home, or a normal birth. She was one of a group of creatures created to deal with a problem caused by the world’s governments as a result of earlier secret experiments involving werewolves.. Unknown to Simone and the vast majority of the Earth’s population, the governments of, North Korea Mexico, China, Russia, Italy, France, The United States, Spain, England, Japan, Germany and Canada, had been conducting experiments in efforts to develop expendable soldier(s) for, among the possibilities, waging war, homeland defense, missions that could normally cost human lives; such as missions to kill terrorists or missions to kill government leaders.
Simone’s first memories were of a large four sided room, devoid of any colours save white and filled with many strange, complex looking pieces of what, she would learn later, were scientific and medical equipment used to monitor and measure blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, growth rates, the removal of waste and intravenous feeding tubes, and others. Simone would see the stark white tiles, and floors, see and hear, over her head, the soft ever present humming from the banks of harsh florescent lighting. She would see, for the first of many, many times, the scientists responsible for her and others creation(s), chief amongst them a tall, slender, blonde haired, green eyed woman named Jean Silverstein...
Along with her friend and colleague, Dr. Adelaide M Goldsmith, Dr. Silverstein overseen the London branch of the United Kingdom’s research program, in a massive; four story building called The Solomon Facility, where, several years prior, by chance an unusual patient had been admitted, numbered patient #23. Patient #23 was sent to The Solomon Facility after reportedly changing into a wolf like humanoid creature while at a nearby general hospital and killing or seriously injuring a number of the other patients, staff, doctors and security personnel, before escaping, although briefly, before, reportedly, turning itself in to police. Once at TSF, Patient #23 catapulted the genetics lab’s progress to unheard of heights...
Like on most Earth’s, the Earth which was home to Simone had always had its faire share of rumors and legends of werewolves, vampires, Puca, demons, angels, and so forth, but the truth being told, most people didn’t believe the old tales and who had seen a vampire, werewolf or other such creatures...? Then there was the real truth, such beings did exist, although for whatever reason(s), not in large quantities. It was one of these; a werewolf; that had bitten Patient #23, it was discovered, and so a new arc of genetic research was began first in the UK; then throughout the world as other developed countries took note.
Sometime after, Patient #23 escaped The Solomon Facility, but was captured a few days later. A few days after it was recaptured, Patient #23 disappeared. Left behind were test results, videos, doctor’s notes and most importantly, its DNA… Using this DNA, the British government began trying to create a ‘manageable’ werewolf/lycan. Phase one began: The building of more genetic research labs and training of more genetic specialist. Phase two: Employment of teams to hunt down animal test subjects, specifically any, and all wolves.
Gene splicing and manipulation began in earnest three months after Patient #23 vanished.
That was Phase three. In Phase four: Subjects who survived the genetic/DNA alterations phase were retested for basic intelligence and reasoning, and checked for mental defects. Many subjects failed their intelligence tests and or went insane, although after one year, with no government restrictions on ethical treatment in the labs, research had progressed forward at a astounding rate. It was in the late summer of the second year, when things started to go terribly wrong as a significant number of werewolves, originals and created, escaped facilities around the globe, and started attacking people in rural and urban areas.
Though the world government’s attempted to implement and enforce a full media blackout of what was happening, rumors began to spread via internet blogs, chat rooms, and word of mouth. A reporter might break a story, only to retract it later or vanish in some cases. As the attacks escalated, the world government’s redoubled their research while keeping the public at large in the dark to the true nature of the attacks, reporting through media outlets that the attacks were a worldwide pandemic of a new strain of rabies... One year later, as April became May; Simone opened her eyes and took her first conscious breaths.
Simone was a part of a whole new breed of creatures, being created to hunt down and kill werewolves, and anything else which scientist now knew could exist, which could possess strength, power, agility, stamina and regenerative attributes akin to a lycans. Throughout the world, massive amounts of money had been poured into the newest research, not only from governments’, but from unknown, shadowy donors, whom remained anonymous to all but a select few in the highest levels of governments... Simone, and others like her, were given lycan’s blood too drink and told they needed this to survive, although that was not the entire truth... but one of many they were told to ensure their continuing cooperation.
Simone proved to be among the best and brightest of the werewolf hunters. Simone never questioned her orders or why she was created. She was content to hunt down and kill the threat to herself and her country, while never pondering her link to those she killed or why she, someone who was stronger, faster, more agile, and as smart if not smarter then most humans had to serve them and kill creatures they could not. This was until one December night when Simone and the other three hunters she was traveling with were ambushed by werewolves. The other three hunters died, but Simone survived, though seriously injured.
The alpha female, and leader of the werewolf pack, against the objections of many in her group, kept Simone alive and cared for Simone'svarious injuries. Simone would have fought and killed as many of her captors as she could and then returned to The Solomon Facility, but her injuries and being restrained prevented Simone from doing so. During this period, Simone began suffering sleep and a number of other mantel issues, later diagnosed with, among others, Adjustment disorder, Parasomnias, and a rare disorder, psychogenic fugue.
Angry, confused, and beginning to show the initial, occasional signs of her various mental illnesses, Simone was kept a captive as the group of werewolves moved from Liverpool, to Birmingham, to York, and Manchester England... During this time, Simone learned that not everything she had been told about her enemies was truth. Simone also was made aware of the link that she, her present captors, and many previous escapees shared, that being Patient #23. Simone was quite skeptical, why should she believe anything she was being told by the people who had almost killed her, and who continued to hold her as a prisoner.
Simone’s injuries healed, and she continued to wait and plot for the right time for escape, although she would later reflect on the opportunities missed and the reasons why she had allowed them to pass by... They were reasons Simone would never speak of once she was returned to The Solomon Facility... Apart of Simone had subconsciously began listing and believe what she was told, primarily by the group’s leader... a werewolf named Claes, who Simone began to slowly develop feelings for, despite Simone denying it, until a few days after the group had left England, and traveled to their main hideout in northern Scotland.
During a chance encounter with another group of hunters near Glasgow Scotland, Simone was rescued and returned to The Solomon Facility. After being examined, she was found to have suffered a severe head injury, though this did not explain Simone’s mental issues, neither did it explain the Nightmare disorder, Oneirophrenia, and Parasomnias... After she was deemed unfit for further use, Simone was scheduled to be euthanized with a cocktail of drugs designed especially for she and others like her. Death was set for Christmas Eve. Simone accepted her pending death, so she thought; until she lay awaiting her injections.
At that moment, Simone had her first, Brief Reactive Psychosis episode... followed shortly by a full blown psychotic breakdown, during which she attempted to escape the Solomon Facility, killing Dr. Goldsmith and Dr. Silverstein, along with a assistant as she ran from the room. Although badly re-injured, Simone managed to make it to the facility’s front gates, injuring and killing a number of staff members, and several recovering hunters, previously injured in missions, along the way, before being shot in the head by a high powered rifle, wielded by one of The Solomon Facility’s elite snipers, on their payroll for such occasions.
Simone’s life was spared though by two separate events. The bullet miraculously failed in its mission to drive itself through her brain and instead made a full circuit of Simone’s skull before exiting. The second factor, and more mysterious of the two, was a order received moments after the shooting from a unknown source(s) in London, ordering Simone’s life be spared and including orders and directions on how to transport her to a hospital called St Osmond’s. After being stabilized, Simone was sent to St Osmond’s, along with all the files containing her species abilities and weaknesses, and a brief listing of her mental illnesses.
Simone would spend two weeks after arriving at St Osmond’s in its infirmary, in a medically comma... The day she awake, briefly, Simone was moved to a room in St Osmond’s shifter wing. Simone would spend the next week recovering her strength, and asking members of the staff who brought her food to her, where she was and what had happened. As with all patients past, present and future at St Osmond’s, Simone was told nothing. Simone found this annoying, but somehow expected. She had never been told anything whoever was in charge thought she did not need to know. So what was she to do now, Simone wondered.
Trypanophobia: The extreme fear of medical procedures involving injections or hypodermic needles. A result of the euthanasia attempt Simone escaped from prior to being shot, and, in a coma, being delivered to St Osmond’s. As with all Simone's conditions, this is recent.
Claustrophobia: The fear of having no escape and being closed in small spaces or rooms. In Simone’s case, places with curved edges and or small, glass enclosed spaces/areas.

Name: Tanaka, Kiyoko
Mental Affliction: Night Terror: A parasomnia disorder characterized by extreme terror and a temporary inability to regain full consciousness. The subject wakes abruptly from slow-wave sleep, with waking usually accompanied by gasping, moaning, or screaming while waking. It is often impossible to awaken the person fully because they are so concentrated on waking, and after the episode the subject normally settles back to sleep without waking. A night terror can rarely be recalled by the subject.
Erotomania: A type of delusion in which the affected person believes that another person, usually a stranger, is in love with him or her.
Psychosis: means abnormal condition of the mind, and is a generic psychiatric term for a mental state often described as involving a "loss of contact with reality".
Bio: Kiyoko lived in a world where Lycans ran rapid. Going though villages and killing off families for food or pleasure. At the age of seven, her village was over run by the Lycans. She watched as her family and friends were ripped apart by the them. As a lycan bit into her neck, a hunter murdered it. She was forever scarred along with her mind. The hunter decided to take the young girl in seeing as only a few villagers was left.
From then on was in love with her savior. Following him around like a lost puppy. She just always knew his love for her was strong, but he realised otherwise. Sick of her constant need to show her love for him and never understanding he did not love her. One day he pushed her away. Yelling obscene things to her to prove he hated her for what she would become. First, he thought he went to far as she grabbed her chest and fell to the ground. Unable to breathe and blackness danced across her vision. It was then, she turned for the first time. She destoryed him and all others with him. Then fled.
Many times over the same things happened. Losing herself to the feral beast within after her panic attacks. It takes her a couple of days to calm back down or she passes out into a deep sleep. Not being able to wake up fully for several days. Somone usually finding her covered in blood and taking her in. Not knowing whats wrong with her during her night episodes. Doctors has tried to help her only to end up dead for trying to give her some kind of medication.

Mental Affliction: A variant of manic depression. Song can only feel emotional extremes. When she is pleased, she is euphoric. When she is irritated, she is outraged. When disappointed, she becomes deeply depressed. As intense as her emotions are, it is relatively easy to sway her emotions…as long as she doesn’t think you’re trying to manipulate her. That really ticks her off. This extremism also applies to her opinions. Everything there is she either loves, hates, or is apathetically disinterested in. Outside of her madness, she is rather narcissistic, though not quite to the point of megalomania. She is a fanatic worshipper of the chaos goddess Pandora (no, not THAT Pandora,) though her ties to her deity, and any powers granted by it, are severed within this realm.
Appearance: A blend of many different creatures, Song stands at 5’7”. Her body is covered entirely in heavy plumage. Her head is that of a bird of prey, with a short, sharp, ivory white beak. Contrasting her avian visage is a pair of curling ram-like horns, though they are too small to be useful. Her torso is roughly humanoid in shape, and in spite of her bird-like features, she is rather well-endowed, though her plumage is sufficient to keep her modest. Her arms are large feathered wings, normally folded against her body. Sprouting from her back is another pair of skeletal wings, devoid of skin, muscle, or other soft tissue. Despite this, they still move, though without much purpose. Her legs are the muscular legs of a goat, and end in oddly sharp hooves; white like her horns and beak, but with a curious spiked protrusion in back, giving them the appearance of high heels. Her tail is long and whip-like, and ends in a feathered tuft. Contrary to what one might expect, she does not come across as "mis-matched." Rather, her features blend together smoothly, and her body is well-rationed, making her beautiful in the classic sense. Her plumage varies in coloration, as every time she sleeps, she molts completely, and regrows her feathering the same night. Her feathering comes in three different patterns. The first is jet black, with white specks, giving her the appearance of the night sky. The second is pure white, with tiny golden symbols running across each individual feather. The third is a dark red-purple, with navy blue along the edges of her wings.
History: Song is from a highly magical world, where mythical beasts and monsters are common place. Her mother was the servant of an insane and childish goddess of chaos called Pandora. To further her mistress’s agenda, she used a combination of science, magic, and things beyond sane comprehension to create bizarre creatures using a few pieces of existing beings. Song is the most successful result of this, being a fusion of satyr, nymph, harpy, some manner of vulture-like demon, and the tiniest bit of Pandora's own essence. Song was immediately indoctrinated into her mother’s faith as soon as she could speak, and worked with her to spread change and anarchy throughout the world, whether the people wanted it or not. While Song and kin were powerful, they were not nearly powerful enough to overthrow all world order, and eventually Song fell in battle against a human warrior. Either by fate’s whim or Pandora’s influence, this hero turned out to be kind and gentle, and when the defeated Song refused to change her destructive ways, he did not kill her, but banished her to a place where her insanity would be more acceptable.
Fears: Song does not fear death, believing that when she dies, her soul will be taken by Pandora. What she does fear is disfigurement. She also fears separation from Pandora, though she does believe such a thing could ever come to be...
Abilities: Song has a highly magical voice, and can mimic nearly any sound or voice she hears or thinks of. In addition, those who hear her singing suffer from hallucinations of her design. These hallucinations are only visual and auditory in nature, and Song must concentrate somewhat to use this ability. Moderate pain will interrupt her. It is also worth noting that while Song is strong, intelligent, and extremely nimble, her body is highly magical, and should her magical nature somehow be suppressed, she weakens greatly, and her voice loses its power.
Name: Kara Ka Puvam
Race: Black Kran (alien)
Mental Affliction: The refusal to believe in her brother's death has developed into a full-blown insanity which combines a severe delusion with a split-personality. Her two personalities are the shy and timid Kara, and her brother, the confident, competent, and cool Hane. The dominant personality constantly believes and hallucinates that the other is physically present. The two personalities will often converse with one another. Sometimes she only actually speaks the lines of the dominant personality, but occasionally speaks both. Should the non-dominant personality need to interact with the world, they will become dominant temporarily to do so. If this interaction continues long enough, the personality will remain dominant indefinitely, until the other has a need to assume dominance. I will provide an example at the end of the post. Like many female kran, Kara possesses psychic abilities. In her case, she can mentally interface with computers at short-range, operating, hacking, and otherwise manipulating them with ease. "Hane" cannot do this.
Appearance: As a black kran, Kara's body is vaguely shaped like that of a praying mantis, for lack of a better comparison. Most of her body is covered with rubbery, dull-gray flesh, with jet-black feathers along her wrists, ankles, and scalp. She possesses twelve limbs, including four arms, (each with four fingers and two thumbs), four legs (bird-like, with two toes in front and one in back), and four feathered wings on her back. Her head is slightly elongated, with two large golden eyes, a small mouth, and no nostrils. On the back of her head is a small horn-like antenna which can emit and receive weak electrical signals. The mouth on Kara's face is only used for speaking and breathing. She instead eats through a second mouth located on her chest. She is inherently vegan, and can only subsist of fruit juices.
History: Kara and Hane were born during a drawn-out war between the kran and an alien race known only as The Creators. In this war, the two piloted a quadrupedal robot against the enemy. Eventually, the kran were pressed to the brink of defeat, and chose to retreat, loading entire cities onto transport ships. The twins were chosen to help escort such a ship. The mission ended in disaster, though, and while the transport was not destroyed completely, most of the passengers were killed by an enemy attack. In addition, Kara and Hane's robot was destroyed, and due to damage to the eject mechanism, only Kara survived. Effectively, Kara's parents, many of her friends, and her beloved brother had all died in the span of an hour. Unable to go on living with this fact, she instead denied it, going insane in the process. Aboard what was left of the transport craft, she was unable to properly interact with her peers, and often became violent when presented with the fact of her brother's death. The ship having no facilities to deal with the mentally ill, the crew had no choice but to send Kara elsewhere...
Fears: Kara fears death and injury, but above all fears the death of her twin brother, Hane. The latter has already occurred, but she refuses to acknowledge it, resulting in her insanity.
Example of insanity: Kara, with her own personality dominant, is holding a conversation with a hallucination of her brother Hane, who is in reality deceased. She is approached by a person who appears fairly threatening. Hane, being overprotective of Kara, "speaks" to this figure, and Kara's mouth may or may not actually vocalize Hane's words. Should this figure be interpreted as hostile, Hane will attack, as Kara is not nearly the warrior he is. As Hane needs to meaningfully interact with the world, he becomes the dominant personality, who Kara now believes herself to be. "He" now hallucinates that Kara is nearby. If this encounter ends quickly, Kara will revert to the dominant personality, but if Hane remains dominant for more than a few minutes, he will assume dominance until there is a need for Kara to do so.
Age: 70 (young adult)
Race: Undead Ice Dragon
Mental Affliction: A variant of kleptomania. Rather than trivial or insignificant objects, Kethle'an is regularly compelled to filch objects of at least some value. This theft is sometimes done subconsciously, and she is not always immediately aware of what she has done. The strength of these urges are proportional to the value of the object, and the ease of the theft going unnoticed. She instinctively "hoards" said objects, and has great difficulty parting with them. Due to her captivity, she is also intensely afraid of being bound.
Bio: Kethle'an was born a halfbreed of a race of nature-worshiping humanoids known as wildkin, and an ice dragon which secretly lived among them in a magical disguise. From birth, she was possessed by a barely-resistible draconic greed, and by the age of 10, she found herself exiled from the isolated village she called home after one theft too many. After months of living in the wilderness, she came across a human settlement and attempted to make her home there, though she was eventually driven out of there too. For more than half a century after, she sought out therapists and psychologists who could help her with her problem, but none could cure her inherent urges. Eventually, she caught wind of an institute that specialized in abnormal mental illnesses, including those in supernatural beings. Desperate, she sought it out of her own will.
Osmond's was most certainly not what she was expecting nor hoping for. In most dimensions, a dragon's scales, blood, and other parts had powerful magical and alchemical properties, and the institute's higher-ups had her locked away, where these components could be harvested for their own nefarious usage. Eventually, her captors even found a magical means of amplifying her existing draconic blood, essentially converting her into a full dragon and increasing the potency of her byproducts, though she was still kept bound via a combination of starvation and magical restraints. Eventually, after eight years of being drained of blood, and being near-starved, her body finally gave out. Seeking to take what was left, she was drained of what bodily fluids she had left, she was completely skinned, and her eyes, tongue, and many of her vital organs were removed.
However, her draconic pride would not accept such an undignified end. Or perhaps, the Osmond's institute itself wasn't ready to end her suffering just yet. Either way, shortly after being released from the restraints, her corpse began to move...
Pic or description: Once a beautiful, majestic creature, Kethle'an's body is now a grotesque horror of muscle, blood, and bone. She is a quadruped that stands just shy of five feet tall, and is seven feet long, from the tip of her nose to the base of her tail, which extends a further five and a half feet behind her. Her clawed feet possess three "finger" claws and a grasping "thumb" claw. Her skull-like face is devoid of any external ear, and her eyes are nothing more than gaping sockets, each with a tiny mote of silvery light in the center. While not technically alive, her body somehow remains fresh, and even seems to produce some amount of blood. While she no longer needs to breathe, she does so out of habit, and her frosty breath is visible in her mouth, and despite her lack of a tongue, she seems to have no trouble speaking. Her back sports a pair of long, fin-like wings, though without skin, they don't provide nearly enough lift to provide flight.
Personality: For all the rejection she's experienced, Kethle'an is shockingly gentle and empathetic. This is largely due to her unreasonably optimistic conviction that most harmful or cruel actions have some justification behind them. Likewise, she rarely holds grudges. Her opposition to, and frequent inability to overcome her draconic instincts brings her to distrust herself, and she tries to avoid situations where she is likely to encounter valuables. For all her lack of confidence, she still manages to be somewhat condescending, though not in a spiteful manner. Rather, she often feels she can fend for others better than they can for themselves.
Any Extras you'd like to add: Kethle'an's body lacks many of the capabilities it had in life, and has almost none of her supernatural power.

It started with the dreams, the singing in the dreams. Hearing the waves crashing against the sharp rocks. The screams of men. As a six year old I would wake up in a cold sweat, the smell of the sea still vivid in my mind. My mother was a mute; it was not by choice as the ragged scar across her throat would attest to. She would come in, knowing without hearing me that something was wrong, and rocked me gently in her arms until I lulled back into a more restful state. My father was dead, I never knew him.
They got worse, stronger and I began to accept them. I was no longer scared, I was resigned to them. After a while I even began to enjoy them. Then came the sleep-walking. Always to the sea, my mother wouldn’t live anywhere she couldn’t see the sea. When I was twelve I came home from school and she was gone. The police had found her clothes at the high tide line, it was called suicide, I know better.
I was eighteen when they let me out of the system, I was called a problem child. I didn’t have a problem. They had the problem with my swimming in the sea, eating raw meat and the singing.
Oh the singing, my mother had never allowed music and that had been a terrible thing according to “them”. I was encouraged to sing at first. It was beautiful and terrible and awoke something new in me. I had my own place at this stage. The first man to come through the door was arrested and charged with breaking and entering. The second went missing and no sign of him was ever found. By the time seven men were missing people where getting suspicious. The singing always led to another missing man. The more who went missing the more hungry I got. Sweet hunger. Beautiful hunger. Never again will I let silence in to my life, I remembered the silence of my mother, how much it must have torn her apart inside, the fear. No, never allow the silence in.
I was locked up. Solitary confinement. Still I sang. The notes floated from the women’s wing to the men’s. When they came through the wall after a week I left after sating my hunger. I stayed clear of them for a while but they caught me again at the shore on my way back out to the sea. A specialist facility they tell me. One designed for “monsters like me”.

As she has grown even the sound of her speaking attracts the attention of men, the more she feeds the stronger her powers of attraction become. Name: PFC Shika, Rayne Y
Diagnosis: Schizophrenic Paranoia, PTSD. The details of these disorders are both stemmed from her enhancements and past events.
Physical Description: PFC Shika stands at sixty-six inches and weighs approximately one hundred and fifteen pounds. Her statuesque figure and gleaming beauty comes complete with auburn eyes and burnt cherry brunette hair that cloaks her face despite the massive pony tail that ties a majority of it up. The slender and petite figure carries into a standard issue uniform with the exception of name tapes, unit patches, and a flag. The uniform consists of a tan t-shirt, a combat jacket, combat bottoms, combat boots, and the assorted undergarments of choice of coarse. A gator neck slumps around her neck to block flying particles in such events as a sand storm or the like. A pistol belt falls behind her back, the holster for her weapon of choice, the Beretta 1911. Her pockets are home to wide assortments of useful gear including a 9 inch-blade that attaches to her belt loop.
(Obviously she won't have access to these in the institute but she's fairly attached to them)
Personality: PFC Shika has two unstable mindsets that swing into play based on triggers and other situational cues. The first is a cold calculated soldier that is clear minded and unhindered by personal bias and can take a broken bone or five before a wince is present. This deadly state leaves her devoid of reason other then survival and success of the mission. She primarily relies on efficiency and rarely takes the human element into consideration. When her soldier state is activated, she has loose ties to other, especially if they are not mission critical allies. Her statements can be harsh and straight forward because sugar coating things mutilates mission essential details and proves to hinder the final goal. The best coarse of action is to stay out of her way if you don't have a reason to be there.
The alternative is a rowdy, headstrong girl. Just as fearless, but far more vulnerable and receptive. She becomes prone to emotional breakdowns at moments notice from self-doubt, but is quick to snap to a backlash of rage at a helper's hand. This half of Shika stands as the last shard of her original self, riddled with emotions and conscious thought. She acts for her own gain unless you can earn her trust, a losing game to anyone who doesn't already have their foot in that door. This half still falls weak to personal guilt at the loss of her team and is very self-critical, analyzing how things could have gone better if only she knew things that were out of her control to begin with. It carries borderline tendencies, often evaluating self worth and how much more conveniant it could be to removed from the equation. A small glimmer of hope remains where her core values of loyalty remain to her cause and her personal goal, to continue evolving and become a useful asset to the squad.
History: PFC Rayne Shika is a ghost who is erased from existence in the civilian and declassified military world. The official stories are subject to question between being KIA in combat, a POW, or any range of military related deaths. The agreement is she is gone, her parents know it, friends know it, the government knows better.
The original Rayne Shika, her real name being Jeanette Thompson, was the average girl through life. A B- student, an average athlete, no criminal past, painted her nails with a bunch of girls on Saturdays. She graduated with a few grants but nothing really impressive enough to get her through her proposed psychiatric related degree. The loans stacked in heaps and the school work, loans, and waitress jobs weren't panning out together. She finally decided there was a need to take a more active engagement to keep her life from swelling into a debt pool.
She withdrew from her private collage and enlisted in the military to afford her mounting education funds, the first in a series of many less then average events. Her training made her a remarkable marksmen, a competitive athlete, and a candidate for a new experimental program. In a tragic right place, right time ordeal, high officials gazed on as trainees toiled to success and picked a squad for an alternative advanced training. Those pulled were herself, a Military Intelligence Interrogation Expert and Cyber Security qualified, a 22 year a female Medic trained with a fifty caliber sniper rifle and a 9 millimeter pistol, a 21 year old Intelligence analyst, and 28 year old mechanic and equipment specialist. So formed the "Elite String Charlie".
Everything from then on was top secret classified, a series of experiments to make the sub-par soldier extraordinary. PFC Rayne Shika (the new alias she took on after 2 years of training) underwent a procedure that places nodes on the frontal lobe of her brain that act as a gap between the bridge of the brain, allowing smoother transition of left and right orbital thinking. The results were astounding, Shika was processing and understanding information at lighting fast speeds. She was able to overcome emotion and physical distress at will, able to become the perfect soldier, in theory.
The receptors caused astounding results. The ability to process time and all the events during it meant she could calculate the trajectory and line destruction of a bullet before the weapon raised his weapon to aim it. Even more then that, she could use cognitive thought to tighten muscles at whim, divert blood flow, and manipulate her pulmonary and circulatory system to essentially stop bleeding from wounds, or avoid the danger all together with unparalleled reflexes. All of this, of coarse, was only beneficial when the receptors were doing their job.
The receptors began showing signs of collisions in strings of thought, leaving the subjects delirious, confused, angered even. Violent fits of rage or intense depressions would sometimes ensue after mild headaches, sometimes nothing at all. Most subjects had fell victim to these negative results however Shika was the first to lose all sense of humanity. Within a mild head aches time, she fell into a state ruled only by command oriented and directive initiated tasks. In other word, she could be programmed to do what was required of her.
When not logged into this super soldier mode, she suffered the effects of maintained an overdriven state of being. Her muscles were exhausted, her organs barely operational. She was sapped of all carbohydrates stored in her system so was running on a border lined starvation mode. She was empty of essentially all vital nutrients and vital system elements including white blood cells, platelets, vitamins and minerals. Most receptors in her brain were depleted, causing a major chemical imbalance in endorphins and other vital stimuli. It was essentially like she was caught in a walking coma after her first mission. It wasn't long before she started a regiment of proper diet and pills to counter her less then desirable side effects.
What was required of her for missions was something far darker then those in their right mind would do. Shika was responsible for the staging of coos in foreign countries, the ending of uprisings, the fall of several small radical governments, and the beginning of better controlled ones. In all the pandemonium that she both created and ceased, she had been taken captive close to 20 times by foreign agencies who wanted unlock the secrets of her and her beyond human squad. Most of these agencies have few or no living members now. With each mission, another piece of her felt dead inside as she realized her status as a tool, a Pandora's box in the hands of corrupt officials.
Even more so, the deadly soldier half of Shika seemed to operate without the sentiment of the other half. The human half that was always conscious, always watching through eyes in a bloody a dark environment that she could only witness, not interact. It was as if being a vicious puppet and it warped the perception of the once innocent Shika. Having front row seats to every twisted tactic that extracted information in an interrogation, the blood on her hands she didn't put there by her own will, Shika began fearing herself.
Shika's fear was something that had been taken into account at the beginning of this project. A fail safe was installed, a receptor hard wired to the spinal cord, capable of over stimulating the receptors on her cerebral cortex and causing the equivalent to a stroke, receptors that failed to fire when the pierced by a six inch needle from the medic when the Intel analyst and Shika found answers that were above their pay grade. When it seemed a conscious thought was returning to Shika, the dark hands were quick to decide the project had seen it's longevity and attempted to disband the squad. Permanently.

Interests and Other: PFC Shika has a wide array of quirky desires, like microwaved macaroni and cheese smothered in pepper, big band swing music, and half hour long baths with the shower head running. Her true interests fall back to her original college endeavors. She was interested in the human mind and it's inner workings. She dreamed of solving mental disabilities in young adults and improving their quality of life. The closest the military could offer was offering training on how to break the mind of a target and she reluctantly agreed to compromise.
The dislikes of Shika can be simple a fear of spiders and used bar soap, but they have evolved with her "conditions". While the super soldier couldn't even bat an eyelash at death itself, the softer side of herself has grown more fearful then ever. She has placed little faith in her self-control and evaluates her self-worth. She feels as though she has been a failure to living up to her place and staying on top for her team. Death is the easy way out but is unfortunately an option sometimes with literally nothing left, no life, no team, no purpose. She feels like a husk of her former self, and the soul-less other half doesn't help in that argument. A super enhanced PTSD makes her question everything, what's a friend? How many enemies do I have left to get rid of? When will the madness end?

Mental Affliction: Homicidal Tendencies, Bi-polar, with Delusions of grandeur.
Bio: Nex was born as a member of the Catawba Native American tribe. He watched as almost his
entire tribe was wiped out by starvation. He refuses to let what happened to his tribe happen
to him. After seeing his people suffering Nex was approached by a man named Marcus. Marcus
told Nex that he would give him the power to never fall to the same fate as his people, but in
return he would become a ravenous monster. At the cost of his humanity Nex agreed. He then
continued on a rampage that claimed the lives of countless people. After a few of his "Attacks"
he has been seen devouring his victim. After Nex refused to join his pack Marcus sent him to
Nex is considered a dangerous patient at the institute requiring constant surveilance. During the
day he is kept in his room and fed raw meat, that being all he would eat. His room and door are
lined with pure silver preventing any escape. Occasionally Nex will be allowed to mingle with the
other patients, during this time he is kept under surveillance by the hospital staff. At night he is
allowed to occasionally roam the fenced in forest on the grounds. He has attempted to attack
many patients and doctors that have asked about his past.
In his wolf form Nex stands roughly 9 feet tall with black Fur. His have a faint yellow outline around
his pupil. In his human form Nex stands 6'4" with neck-length black hair. His body is coated with
scars on his hands, chest, and back brought on by his many escape attempts. His has and athletic
build with slighty large muscle definition and biceps. His walk gives the impression that he is ready
to attack at any moment, head leaned forward and arms at an agle. No matter his form his eyes
remain the same. Despite some argument Nex was allowed to keep a trench-coat given to him by
his father. The coat is red and many tears and holes tell the tale of violent encounters.

Nex is very sesnsitive of people asking about his past or bringing up him ever being part of a pack.
He sees groups as nothing more than buffets and weaknesses. However when in large groups his
very social and seems charismatic. his sense of humor on the other tends to turn towards the
violent. The only true evidence of Nex's possible salvation is him occasionally giving his food to
the hungrier patients

Age: 212 (looks 21 in human years)
Mental Affliction: Impulse control disorder, ADHD, Pyrophillia and Pyromania
Personality: Moth is very much a free spirit, doing what she pleases, when she pleases. To her life is too short to worry about the consequence of an action. If said action will bring some form of satisfaction then she's going to do it. The enjoyment of the action far outweighs the possible negative. On the exterior she's fun loving, but scatterbrained. She struggles to stay on a topic for very long before a new one peaks her interests, causing her to often ramble in conversations. Underneath she has the personality of an addict who is desperately seeking their fix. This addict behavior can often rear it's head in the form of childish temper tantrums or uncontrollable bouts of anger. She has little to no control over her emotions thus causing any emotion to be felt to the extreme degree.
History: Moth was always looked on as peculiar, oddly friendly even for Fae culture. Fae's lived in a society built upon good deeds, position in society was nonexistent. Everyone was treated fairly, goods were shared. They even made it a point to share their wealth with the other races of Other world. They were known as the mothers of the world, caring and protecting all of the Godmother's creations. The godmother being their patron deity, god if you will.
Moth excelled in this society for a time, befriending other creatures, learning of their own cultures, often giving those she liked extra supplies. This endeared her to the other races, but caused much strife among her own kind. Her penchant for chatting caused many of her duties to go unfulfilled. Her role was to watch over hundreds of living organisms yet her time was so whimsically used that many under her watch began to die off. This led to a confrontation that would soon cause her downfall.
When asked why she choose to ignore her job she snapped, lashing out on a tirade of anger and venom. The anger from being told what to do welled up inside of her, manifesting in a techno colored flame. The flame sprang from her finger tips like wild fire, incinerating her former interrogators, charred corpses falling to the ground like flies. As she watched the corpses fall she began to get an odd sensation through her body. She enjoyed the image, the flesh being seared from the bone, the screams of the victims suffering. The screams themselves were like a symphony, providing her a back drop to the sexual gratification she gained from the blaze.
She was found at the scene of the crime, using the bodies in a means that she deemed pleasurable. The community was clueless as to how to handle the situation. They could not in good conscious imprison her nor could they merely exile her. She would be far too big a danger to others. It was decided that she be sent to St. Osmond's.
Fears: She fears anything that could be perceived as binds or chains. This could mean her literally being chained down or locked in a room or figuratively. Her greatest fear is the loss of freedom, the inability to sate her urges and desires. If her urges were left unfulfilled she fears tearing herself apart from the inside, both mentally and physically.

Name: Amari Talu
Age: Unknown. Appears lower twenties, but seems to not age.
Race: Uncertain. Humanoid, has been known to refer to herself as a witch at times, however some have speculated that she is truly some form of Djinn because of her ability to grant desires.
Mental Affliction: Amari appears to suffer from multiple mental afflictions including Disorganized Schizophrenia, Mixed Episode Schizoaffective Disorder, and Rapid Cycling Bipolar Disorder. With her constant delusions and hallucinations it is difficult to determine if there are any other underlying mentalillnesses.
Personality: When Amari is having a nuetral day she can be very social and friendly. She tends to maintain constant hallucinations in relation to her environment and interactions, often involving socialization with inanimate objects. During these times she tends to be overall cooperative and helpful, and functions well. When Amari is manic, she frequently will engage in childlike behavior and become hyper and distracted. At times she has been known to use child like words and communication during this stage, and can be difficult to manage however tends to be non-aggressive. When Amari is in a depressive stage her hallucinations will often take a dark nature. She is most likely to become destructive and aggressive in this stage and may have a flat affect, or hysterical affect with inappropriate emotional responses. During a depressive phase, Amari often will target a specific individual or goal and can be very hard to redirect or distract, resulting in maximum damage before her phase or focus change.
Appearance: Amari is a relatively small female, standing approximately 5'6" and weighing approximately 125bs. She has long black hair and pale skin. Amari's eyes are distinctive in nature. The right eye maintaining a dark midnight blue color with small flecks of a silver grey color throughout the iris. Her left eye alternatively is a white sky blue, with the same flecking throughout.
History: Amari's history is difficult to be certain of. Attempts at discussing family generally result in psychotic breaks and aggressive behavior. Amari maintains a recurring hallucination of living in a cabin in a clearing in thick woods. It's possible that this is where she grew up or lived previously. No direct kin have been located and no one has come to visit or called to inquire to her whereabouts. The only relations Amari readily discusses are those she claims to maintain with wild animals that live in the forest surrounding the cabin. Amari was involuntarily admitted into the ward due to an incident that occured last winter. During the night Amari proceeded into a small town, encompassed in a powerful blizzard. As she passed through the town it was reported that buildings began to spontaneously burst into flames, trapping and ultimately killing those trapped inside. When some of the men in the town attempted to confront Amari, it was reported that their flesh and bone melted at her touch. During this episode Amari was reported to be smiling and unresponsive. The destruction was ended when a villager approached Amari from behind and was able to knock her unconcious. Only approximately a dozen villagers survived the encounter, and Amari will not discuss the incident, and gives no indication of any recollection for the events reported.
Fears: No distinct fears or phobias have been found to be present, though there are multiple subjects that when breached in communication reliably result in cyclical changes, aggression, and destructive behaviors.
