My name's Tanner.
I was thinking of starting up a story with the aforementioned characteristics.
I was going to put it into Casual or Advanced, but seeing as this is my first time on this site, and with limited forum
role-playing experience I wanted to make sure it would have a decent amount of contributors before I started.
This story I've been rolling around in my head was something I was going to try with my table-top RPGers sometime in the near future.
For people who aren't familiar with The Dresden Files, it goes along the lines of this.
Wizards are around and well, as well as all of the nasty creatures that go with them. Wizards use magic by grasping a hold of the magical energies that is within everything in world, bending it with their will in their mind, and unleashing it with a blast of fury. Spells take a toll on the wizard, seeing as your forcing your own will into these spells. They range greatly from lighting a candle with a fleeting thought, to blasting a full sized SUV off of the interstate with a gust of wind, which in turn could knock you unconscious for a few hours if you haven't been practicing for long. And the most fun part about the whole en devour. Technology and it's casual mishaps with Wizards. Typically speaking, anything made after World War Two, has a tendency to break, fizz out, or just stop working. The less technology involved, the better.
Vampires and their courts.
The Fae and their deals and bargains with mortal souls.
Lycanthropes, Loup garou, hexenwolves, and werewolves roam the streets as well. Some a bit nicer than others.
Demons, constructs, angels, old gods and the like.
I don't think a super strict code will be put in place for this, seeing as I know some people probably haven't read these books. Please tell me what you think, and which category this should go under. These posts are relatively short for my standards, seeing as I've been awake for some 28+ hours. Blasted work schedule.
All criticism on the idea is welcome!
Rain. It's always raining here, so it seems. It came down in a light trickle on this particular evening. Making everything slightly damp, as opposed to wet, like when you step out of a hot shower and everything seems to glisten. The sun hadn't come out in a few days, so the vampire activity was more active than normal. Nothing the media would report, mind you. How crazy would that sound... "Vampire crime syndicate causes uproar in local news this week. Pushing more of this new hallucinogenic drug into the streets, causing kids to break out in a cold sweat in direct sunlight, crave raw meat and sometimes blood. Sports up next! Followed by the weather!"
Crazy indeed. Apart from that, the vicious animal-like mauls coming from the outskirts of Seattle were keeping the kids, adults, and some law enforcement officials inside at night. Not often do large dogs like Great Danes, Pit bulls, and Mastiffs turn up torn to shreds like a paper bag under a lawn mower. Normal humans don't really know how to deal with this kind of stuff, and usually just pretend it doesn't exist, or blame it on bears.
Where is this drug coming from? Why are the vampires moving now, of all times, when everything was relatively peaceful?
