'Tis the Season, everybody... Celebrate with us.
Nestled under the side of a mountain, surrounded by thick, snowy forests and precipitous elevations, rests a quaint and small town. Virtually unheard of by travelers and newcomers, the sparsely populated town is kept off of most maps. Located off the beaten path, there is only one road in and one road out. Sound, animals, and even people are often lost to never be seen or heard again. One could potentially unleash a blood-shrieking scream and it would be carried away by the howling winds. Complete with delicately crafted wooden homes, an immense steeple is found in the middle of the town where one can hear the deep melodies of an organ playing. Orange light bellows from the windows of several homes as if they were hearths. To the wandering, uninitiated passerby one would think nothing of the apparently homey and comfortable settlement; after all it is a warm and friendly surface, with light Christmas decorations. However to the perceiving… something just isn’t right.
The wind is murderous, but the mountainous bluffs shield the town from the worst of it. Snow covers the entirety of the region, blanketing the already icy-roads, but the town seems alight with welcome greetings, joyful tidings, and a smile on everyone's faces as Christmas lights twinkle in the background. A winter wonderland...? Or something more chilling?
On the long, windy, and dangerous road leading into the town there is a cruddy, weathered and sodden wooden sign. It reads: “Welcome to Bristol”.
Bristol gains its name from its founder of decades ago: John Bristol. It is a humble and meek location. Unmarked on most maps, travelers and outsiders just drive by. No local ordinances, almost ignored by the state government save for taxes and other necessities, it would seem the little municipality is largely forgotten and its denizens have no problems with these facts.
That is until a public transportation bus, travelling from outskirt to outskirt, traverses through treacherous and unsafe routes leads to a deathly crash into a snowy bank filled with trees. All but the driver survive, who lays draped over the dashboard, lifeless and bloody.
That’s where you come in. Your character is part of the small group of strangers who caught the horribly unlucky country-side transit. The group sets out in a random direction, hopeful to find something, anything that could help them: A sign, gas station, headlights, anything. The group trudges along the cold path and as the sun starts to set, the cold sets in and the snow picks up. Desperate and hopeless becomes common feeling… That is, until they stumble across an old, seemingly abandoned and poor looking road. Starving, dehydrated and near-hypothermic, the group sees the wooden sign and jumps for joy as they plod towards the jovial-looking town.
The town keeps a careful watch on the group of strangers; despite the town's hospitable and pleasant attitudes. The younger kids keep to themselves, speaking only when spoken to, some even avoid the strangers at every convenience. All seems well, but Bristol’s strange qualities begin to unravel. Are the townspeople hiding something? If so, why do they insist on keeping the group local? Gradually, the group feels more and more uncomfortable with their suspicion growing. When it all becomes alarmingly clear, it may already be too late…
“You know, last night… I could have sworn that I heard some sort of cry coming from your basement. Was everything okay?”
“Oh, dear, that’s just the old plumbing in this house. The weather this time of year gets ‘em noisy.”
“But, Ma’am, I swear…”
“Quit worrying, you’ll catch a sickness! Eat your food, honey. You’re skinny as a rail and we can’t have that if you and your friends will be joining us for the town annual feast.”
Obviously, this is an interest check. As the holidays approach and Christmas-time comes upon us; why not have a jolly and jubilant RP to help celebrate the time of year? Unfortunately, if that is what you want, you’re looking at the wrong interest check. This is a thriller/mystery/horror(and I stress horror, as this will be gruesome, gory, and largely evil.) RP with very dark undertones. I don’t really want to show all of my cards at this point in time, merely see if anyone would be interested in playing in such an RP.
More detailed information, OOC, and other cool stuff will be posted if enough interest is gathered.
Also; Seravee will be the Co-GM! So expect to see a lot of her. Or not a lot of her. Maybe a guest appearance every now and then.
Go on. Express interest or something.
