His name was called as he looked off at the distant sky absentmindedly. He takes a second and then turns his head to face whoever called him.
As he turned the other shinigami saw the familiar calm, nearly dead eyes of 10th Division's lieutenant. "Yes."
He asks in his bored, calm voice. The shinigami sighs and then smiles at the lieutenant "well I've got a bit of good news..-"
"Cut to the chase."
He said it with a bit of a blatant tone in his voice and an even smaller amount of annoyance.
The shinigami stumbles over his words a bit seeming to have been flustered by the higher ranked officer "u-um, Well you're not be-ing sent on a mission against shinigami anymore." He stops a moment and laughs a bit nervously "ho-however Im to inform you of your next assignment."
Suta rises from his seated position and begins readying himself to leave. The shinigami continues hastily "um, your to go to Hueco Mundo and kill a rogue arrancar before he decides to cause us trouble!" He finishes and waits for Suta's response but gets nothing.
As Suta walks past him the shinigami turns to say something but the look in the lieutenants eyes silences him. Suta nods in understanding and leaves for 12th division.
As Suta arrives at 12th division he finds that the garganta was already awaiting him and he nods to some of the division members. They smile at him and throw him the device to reopen the gate when he needed to return. He glances at it but he ignores their cheerfulness and walks into the garganta.
As he emerges from the garganta he see's it shut behind him. He glances at the object in his hand and stores it in his robes making sure to fasten it tightly.
He walks through Hueco Mundo's dull white and black landscape and suddenly a small laugh is heard from him. "How fitting." He says laughing at his current state and the drabness of the surrounding area. However things quickly become more complicated as he is forced to shunpo back as a volley of bala hit the space where he had just been.
It appeared that his prey had revealed itself without him having to locate it. How convenient, he draws his blade and looks up to face the arrancar. He did however wonder how it had evaded his detection when it had gotten this close.
Lilith smiled cheerfully, her long orange hair flowing behind her as it was tossed about by the force of the bala exploding, her goldeen hued eyes watching with honest but also pyrposeful curiosity as this Shinigami had appeared inbetween her and her long pursued prey. It had been unexpexcted to say the least. Lilith was a small Hollow, standing no taller then 4ft and possessed on a thin and frail looking body.
"I wouldn't go too close if I were you, he's more then a little angry right now Shinigami-san, apparantly there are people trying to kill him, can you beileve that," Lilith said in a cofident and conversational manner as she hovered upside down behind the Shinigami with her legs crossed in front of her as if she had beens itting on the floor. Not a single part of her body or clothes hung down off of her towards the ground, unaffected by the gravity that should have been pulling down on her.
"It would seem that your one or them, or at least he seems to think so," she carried on conversationally as she stared at the shinigamu with that same curious look in her young eyes. It was clear from the dirt and bruises on her body that Lilith had already tried at such a task and had met with more resistance then she could handle. Lilith waited cheerfully and watched, wondering how well this Shinigami would fair against her bala tossing opponent.
Suta briefly glances at the small hollow floating in the air near him. He found it a bit strange that gravity didn't appear to effect her but he cast that away. She wasn't a threat to him at the moment but the other one was.
Several more bala attempt to hit him and he was forced to jump out of the way several more times as the arrancar fires down at him. As he dodges he watches the other arrancar getting a grasp on what it looks like and its possible capabilities.
The arrancar glares at the two back and forth "dammit, That isn't quite fair don't you think? 2 against one." He raises his hand and then whips it down sending a flurry of ball at both of them.
This time Suta jumps forwards instead of back and away from them. He jumps out of the field of fire and flies just under it towards the rogue arrancar.
Lilith grinned back at the Shinigami as he glanced towards her, though the moment was short lived as once again her erstwhile adversary started to hurl those annoyingly fast and powerful bala towards her and her new aquinatnce, the Shinigami who seemed only too eager to dart towards the Hollow without a moment of hesitation or fear. "I wouldn't do that I were you, it won't work, seriously, just look at me, I should know," Lilith started to say in a casually cheerful tone that suggested more wisdom then it perhaps implied but it was already too late, the Shinigami had launched straight into the attack once again.
If such a straight forward method of attacking was going to work then Lilith wouldn't have ended up in such a ragged state to begin with. Lilith watched as the Shinigami made his move, watching not only his movements but the movements of the Arrancar as well as she hovered upside down a safe distance away. Her opponent was a lot more powerful then he at first seemed, Lilith having realized fairly quickly that attacking him from the front didn't work, each time he had simply thrown her Cero to the side. But his speed and reflexes were a problenm too, no matter how much she tried to get behind him he had always managed to counter her.
The arrancar glances down at Suta as he flies up towards him with sword drawn. "Ahhh what a brilliant plan!! Attack ME
from the front..." He pulls an 'are you kidding me' expression and aims his hand down at the lieutenant. "Baka" He was directly in front of Suta and caught his face in his outstretched hand. He throws Suta to the side and then spins slashing his arm again sending an array of bala at the shinigami.
Suta couldn't even react till the bala began coming at him. He held his blade out and slashed with the flat side hitting several bala and deflecting them making them fly into several other bala. "Sho..." though he wasn't very good at kido he could do some and he had implemented the kido into the bala when he deflected them.
As such the sho only took place when the bala hit other bala which destroyed the original and sent the others at even more bala causing a chain reaction. The explosion however was no smaller as all the bala exploded as their own kin hit each other.
Suta was thrown even further by the force of the exploding bala and he twisted in the air and slid on the ground as he met it. He slid back and then regained his ground and stood it. "Hmph, seems your better then you look." He turns his gaze to the smaller arrancar again, he hated to admit it but she had been quite right about attacking from the front. Seems he'd have to try a bit harder to do some damage to this guy.
Now normally his shunpo was at the average level of a lieutenant but he knew that the moment he released it would be slowed down to the level of a 5th or 6th seat shinigami. No matter, it was inevitable.
Suta raises his sword from his side and held it out pointed to the right, as it was in his right hand. "Create suns from dust,..."
he whirls his blade in his hand and then stabs it forwards and as he does the grip of the blade elongates backwards becoming about 4 feet long. The small amount of cloth that had been hanging from the end of the blade appear to be filled with reiatsu and it stiffens and shapes itself into a blade that was about 1.5 feet long by itself. The blade of his former katana shortens becoming the same as the blade at the other end(1.5 feet if you forgot xD).
His shikai was complete and he finishes the release as well"...Hoshikuzu Seiun(Stardust Nebula)."
He twirls the spear around him and then suddenly a strange continuously changing material that resembles dust begins to be emitted from the double sided spear.
Lilith raised an eyebrow as the Shinigami brazenly revealed his Shikai to her without a moment of thought as to whether or not she had any ulterior concerns. She did, Lilith always did but they usually came to nothing, however her memory was good and she would be sure to remember, besides, she liked the name. However what had caused her to react so was not so much the release it had but the effect it had on her, or rather her senses. Lilith knew instinctively the weight of all things as a objects weight could be derived from its gravitation field, and this material was alien to her, to put it simply, it was heavy. But unlike Lilith who was immune to the effects of her own developing powers he seemed somewhat slowed. So it was clear that he had no direct control over gravity and by definition, no defense against it either. That was the way that Lilith's mind thought, despite her manner of speaking.
“Hmmm, that's impressive isn't it but I wonder if it will be enough enough to defeat this guy on its all, he's pretty you know and he's not likely to sit still and just let you hit him,” Lilith said once again in a casual, pleasant manner as she made a basic guess as to the way one might use such an exotic and dense floating material. She would be the first to admit that it was nothing more then a guess but then again Lilith liked making guesses. But it made her wonder, she too had been unable to defeat this opponent, not through lack of speed but rather through lack of penetration, her Cero, which was still rather weak for the young Arrancar was always blocked. However that was the thing, it was always blocked, never dodged. Whether through arrogance or practicality she was unsure but the fact remained that once he started blocking the attack he could do nothing until it had ended. If Lilith could create a large enough window of opportunity then maybe...
“Hey, Shinigami-san? I have a plan,” Lilith said in a rather experimental tone of voice they relayed nothing of her inner thoughts and musings. Lilith had worked occasional with many different beings, both spiritual and otherwise, working with a shinigami was not beyond the realm of her possibilities, or patience. However the shinigami might not take such a suggestion so well, they tended to be a rather arrogant and self righteous lot most of the time, it usually wasn't worth the attempt. Lilith however had nothing against the shinigami, at least not those who didn't try to kill her on sight. Maybe it would be best to wait until after he had been humbled a little. Probably, but Lilith had asked the question anyway.
“What say you Shinigami-san, do you think you can work with little old Lilith, if but a moment, our goals do, after all, involve the same problem,” Lilith asked with an amused grin as she slowly hovered towards the ground as her body turned the right way up, her feet pressing almost weightlessly against the loose sand.
At the moment Suta was too busy to reply to the small arrancar's questioning. As he flew up towards the arrancar the dust continued to form around him and the weapon and it began to flow in trails behind him. He was about to get to the arrancar when he felt it move. It appeared 2 yards to his side and it again sent a stream of bala's at him. However he twirled the staff and the stardust around him swirled around one side of his body and moved to the other.
The dusts then blasted forwards in a stream of color and light and when the bala's hit the stream of stardust they were sucked within and crushed from the immense weight/gravity of the dust. Suta's eyes turn as the arrancar appeared on his other side. He whirls the staff around to his left hand and re positions himself to block the strike from the arrancar's palm when had been meant for his heart.
The arrancar yawned patting his mouth with his free hand and then moved his eyes back to Suta. "Weak" a cero began charging in the palm Suta had blocked and the shinigami's cold eyes waver for a moment. Suta's double sided spear had however already generated a sufficient amount of stardust to form a small dome shaped wall facing the arrancar's palm.
Suta jumps away from the arrancar and into his other field of stardust which began to increase in size as he got in and the spear generated more of the substance. The arrancar on the other hand fired the half charged cero and even that much was enough to tear the stardust apart. The cero however still took casualty as it was sucked back towards the particles of dust after piercing through the sideways dome.
Suta appears back on the ground, it had been a shunpo but it was incredibly readable due to his decreased speed. The stardust gathered back towards him fairly fast and began swirling around his body and continuing to take up more and more space as it increased in amount. Suta glances up at the small arrancar who had called herself Lilith and then back up to his target. "So your proposing I work with you to stop him"
he was looking at his target, the arrancar so he didn't feel the need to specify whom he was talking to. "That sounds fine, in return I won't go after you once this is finished."
His voice was as cold as his eyes and he seemed to not be out of breath or taxed in the least.
Strangely enough the stardust around him was, by itself, heavy enough to crush a small asteroid if left unchecked. Fortunately Suta had the control to contain the gravity's effects to the area or targets he wanted. He takes a step forwards in a ready stance and swings one side of his spear sending a massive wave at his target. He intended to block the arrancar's vision of them as well as cause possible damage. The stardust moved far faster then he was capable of even in sealed form which was fairly fast. As such, this meant it was moving faster then the average lieutenant level shunpo.
Lilith listened to him, a broad and confident grin spread over her face as he agreed to side with her, even it was just this one time, though Lilith quietly had her doubts about that. No sooner had Suta sent his wave of dust forwards Lilith went straight into the attack, a large intake of air and a sudden void of sound surrounding everything around her as arcs of power appeared between her horns, creating a large black sphere with a deep red hue surrounding its surface. Lilith formed fists with her hands as she angled her head and body forwards, rooting herself in place by increasing the gravity beneath her feet to hold her perfectly in place. There was a slight pause and then all once her Cero roared forwards without a sound, tearing up the ground beneath it as her still unfinished Gravity Lantern sheered everything even close to its path.
It punched a hole straight through the stardust wave, taking with it some of the gravitational forces present, further increasing her Lantern's power. The Arrancar's eyes opened wide at the sight of the Cero suddenly bursting through the dust storm, like before its overwhelming speed was too much for him to evade, that witch of a hollow having increased the gravity below him to prevent him from using sonido in harm. It didn't matter, he would block it, just as had the first time and the others. If it had been a perfected attack it would probably kill him even if he did oppose it. Luckily for him he knew better.
The Cero slammed into him as vast amounts of power tore around the sides of his body, his bones literally felt as if they might break at any moment. But the Cero did not break through to him, she just wasn't that powerful yet. Hew would make sure that she never reached that potential, here and now. But the Cero did not relent as it had before, his eyes opening wide in something akin to shock and surprise, suddenly realizing that she was not releasing the attack.
Lilith bit down hard as the effort of maintaining the Cero stream started to eat into her body and soul, sweat starting to run down her face from the monumental effort required. But while she attacked there was no way he could not move, he could not evade. “Now! Unleash everything you have, this time he won't dodge, I guarantee it!” Lilith shouted to Suta as the Cero started to wane slightly.
Suta nods and blasts forwards towards the arrancar "seems this'll be your last sight then."
Strangely he felt a small smile cross his own face and his eyes were glowing with every color.
He shunpo's appearing behind the arrancar and he tries to move one hand behind him to use cero but can't for the cero before him was too strong to let hit him full on. So instead he touches his hand to the hilt of his sheathed blade at his side. "Slither from your burrow,..." he begins in hopes of releasing.
Suta however would have none of it and he slashes down towards the arrancar and all of the stardust follows his slash and then condenses into a small sphere. The sphere flies down from an angle at the center of the arrancar's back. "Etowa-ru Chōshinsei(Star Supernova)"
using one of the few techniques of his sword he had condensed and super packed the stardust together to create a miniature version of one of the stars needed to go bankai. As such the star would go supernova on contact with the arrancar.
Suta shunpo's once again but this time next to Lilith and he erects a barrier of condensed stardust around the two. Then only a second afterwards the star hits. A massive outwards explosion of light and pure solar energy erupts directly on the arrancar's back decimating him completely or at the very least frying his body to a crisp.
Lilith was already in the air as the rapidly disintegrating body of the Arrancar was thrown downwards by the sheer force of Suta's attack, her light and small body already just a few feet from him as she used sonido to close the distance between them. There was still life in the Arrancars eyes, though it was rage filled and insane. It mattered not, Lilith was not here to feel sorry for him, it was far too late for that. Lilith's body span upside toward as her hands came together as one fist, smashing into his body as she came up and over out of the spin. At the same movement Lilith grabbed hold of his mask with what could be called a third hand, ripping the mask clean from his face with the help of the sudden burst of speed inflicted on his by Lilith's slam.
Lilith watched with dark determination as his body went spinning down into the pit of the inferno, his mask now held between her fingers like a prize, hard earned and precious. Lilith was not a fool and knew her own limits, her ability to survive with this inferno of energy was rapidly becoming less likely as her Distortion Field started to fail and used sonido to make it clear of the blast just before everything, for lack of a better word, turned completely to ash. Lilith skidded backwards across the ground with the mask fragment in her hand, her body singed but otherwise nonj the less for wear.
After taking a moment to catch her breath and dust herself off she finally turned back towards the Shinigami and regarded him for a moment, her eyes narrowed in thought. If she was looking for her chance to turn on him now was her chance, at this range he would never stand a chance, she would erase his existence in a heartbeat. Lilith grinned cheerfully and then did something rather strange for a hollow, she broke the mask that she was holding in two and held one piece of the mask towards Suta. “You need this right, for proof of your victory?” Lilith asked curiously, her expression nothing but open and friendly. “My name is Lilith, just, well Lilith I guess, I don't really have much use for a last name. Its nice to meet you Shinigami-sama.”
As she did this he followed her form with his gaze, her movements were quite agile. He had a feeling that it had a bit to do with her small body. He watched as she landed far off and as the explosion finally ceased he lowered his protective barrier.
He had watched her closely for a good reason, she was an arrancar and a strong one at that. Though he knew he was strong he did not want to fight a second arrancar in such a short time frame. As such he was grateful when she split the mask in two and offered one half to him as proof of his mission.
His eyes stayed vacant for a moment as he watched her but something about her strange friendliness made his eyes show a bit of amusement. Something he hadn't felt in a very long time. Suta walks over towards her keeping his spear at his side but still in its shikai form for his own safety.
When he got over to her he reached out to take the half and hesitated a short moment. He looked at her once more and then took the mask fragment from her hand and held it at his other side. "My name is Suta-Gyoushi, Hibara(Star-Gazer, Flame rose). However you can call me Suta if you wish."
He looked at her a few moments longer "strange seeing an arrancar help a shinigami so willingly."
“Is it? I wouldn't know very much about that,” Lilith replied conversationally as she turned the mask fragment over in her hand a few times before sliding it into one of the folds of her dress before looking back towards the Shinigami with an appraising look as if she was trying to decide what he was, or something along those lines. Lilith hummed to herself for a short moment before shrugging and smiling wryly at Suta. “Maybe you should ask for help more often then and you might see it more often then, no?”
Lilith stared at him for a moment with a deadly serious expression on her face before she grinned in amusement and placed her hands firmly on the side of her hips. “Though I would imagine that wouldn't really work either would it? Guess I'm just strange like that huh? Ah well it doesn't really matter one way or the other, the fact of the matter is that we worked well together, I don't see why our races should enter the equation you know? If another hollow can be my friend or my enemy I don't see why that doesn't apply to everyone else in the world, people who see the world like that must have very boring lives,”Lilith said in a pleasant conversational manner as she threw herself backwards on the sand beneath her, watching as the moon hovered silently overhead.
He looks up at the sky as well and now finally seals his weapon as the stardust had began to weight him down again. He twirls it once and then sheathes it at his hip. "I don't see much of a difference either...really shinigami have hunted their own. Or rather I've been forced to."
The coldness in his eyes returned, he seemed to not like the prospect very much "I don't understand how hollows can prey upon their own kind." He turns looking at her "does it pain you at all to harm those of similar blood?"
He had always wondered if arrancar and hollows felt any remorse or sadness when they killed another of their kind. He had finally gotten the chance to ask and he for some reason hoped that it didn't seem disrespectful.
“Why would I fell remorse for trying to survive?” Lilith replied in a very Hollow like manner and waited a moment as if to suggest that that was her real answer. After a moment she laughed sadly to herself turned her head towards him. “Of course I do, every single time, but its not like I have much a choice, if I don't become stronger then someone will become stronger then me and consume me, then what good can I do. I do not regret my actions, but I do feel remorse for those I hurt. Quiet the freak huh?” Lilith said with a wry smile in his direction.
“What choice do we have, looking up at the sky as we do, destined to forever chase what we can't reach?” Lilith mused to herself in a far off manner, her eyes and voice somehow distant from where she was now.
he said in a questionably dismissive tone, as he walked a bit more it seemed to him that this particular hollow was...different somehow. He glanced at her once more as she lay staring at the sky in a far off manner. "Yes, strange would be one word to describe you."
He was almost talking to himself as he said it and then he turned from her extracting an object from his robes and crushing it in his hand.
A garganta slowly begins to form and as he puts his hand at its edge he stops. He again turns his head slightly as if to look back at her but instead does not turn fully "we are similar, you and I. I hope we meet again, I hope not to fight you."
At this he stopped though he would have said more but he did not. There was a short hesitation and then he turned his head walking into the garganta and disappeared as it closed.
