Name: Sarah Arnelle
physical description (no picture required--if you do use one, I still want a text description please): Long light brown hair with red highlights (these stand out more in the sun, but they *are* noticeable in dimmer light as well), well below her shoulders. She is 5' 4", with pale blue eyes and a fair complexion. She wears a white sweater, snug blue jeans and a pair of dress-shoes. She wears a gold locket around her necklace, which has a picture of her and her older sister, Leslie.
Equipment: 1 flashlight (pocket size she always keeps in her purse), wallet and ID and Drivers License, plus a pocket knife. And the clothes on her back.
Personality: Kind hearted, easygoing, can be rather serious at times but most of the time she's quick with a joke or a laugh. She is warm and outgoing, and really *really* loves animals.
Sarah Arnelle grew up in a loving home with a loving family. At least until she was 12, when both of her parents were killed in a car accident. Sarah and her sister Leslie (age 14 at the time), were both stunned, crushed, and lost. Their parents had always shown them love, kindness, and when needed, discipline. They worked hard to raise their children right--and now they were dead. Without any family left to take care of them, Sarah and Leslie were moved from foster home to foster home. They bounced around for a year, until they came to finally be settled into one family. This might at first sound like good news, and it did to the sisters--but they didn't know the family.
It was hell. That's the best way to describe it. Miserable, cold, unrelenting hell. Sarah, being so much younger, was the most vulnerable. Try as she might, she just couldn't win her new parents affections. They beat her over the smallest things. They yelled at her, called her names, told her she was stupid and ugly, the worst child in the world. They hated her. Leslie always seemed to escape this abuse, however. They even seemed quite fond of her, often granting her privileges that Sarah herself was denied; such as being able to watch TV or go outside to play. She was even given good things, like McDonald's hamburgers and other treats, while Sarah was given stale, half bad food and water.
You might think such treatment would end up turning the two sisters against eachother--but instead, it drove them close together. Sarah didn't want her sister to come to harm. She loved Leslie, and wanted her to enjoy life. Leslie, for her part, smuggled food to her sister whenever possible. Even when she was allowed outside, she often stayed inside with Sarah, and comforted her through the painful times. The aftermath of brutal beatings which left Sarah battered and bloody, the horrific punishments such as being burned or forced to hang from the ceiling from the wrists, or being chained to the wall in the basement for days on end without food--all of this, Leslie helped her sister through. They were close indeed.
But then the sexual abuse began. Her step-father, horrible man he was, began to molest Sarah. He never touched Leslie though. Even her mother joined in, cheering her father on and laughing at her, insulting her, telling her she was getting what a no-good brat deserved. There was the smallest part of Sarah that began to resent Leslie for her escape of such things. Maybe if she were a better step daughter. Maybe if she were a good girl, these things wouldn't happen to her. And so, Sarah did her best to try and earn her parents respect and love. She tried everything, from secretly tattling on Leslie, to hiding her things--and this actually seemed to amuse her parents. They never told Leslie her sister was the one doing these things, Leslie assumed it was them. And, best of all, they actually seemed proud when Sarah did things to make her sister sad. But Sarah always felt so bad when she did these things. And it didn't seem to stop her father from his nightly "visits."
What could she do? A lone girl, lost with only her sister to comfort her--a sister who seemed to get all the attention and love? She ran away and never turned back. She never even told Leslie where she was going or what she was doing. At the age of 15, she fled her horrific household, and even the one person she loved (though resented). Her Sister. And now, 10 years later, they reunited. Well, sort of. Yesterday, when returning to her apartment from her job as a waitress at a local diner, she got a call from Leslie. How did her sister get her phone number, or even find out where she lived? She supposed, since she never changed her name, it was as simple as looking up the information. She never got a chance to speak to her, however. Leslie was hysterical, crying and sobbing so hard, Sarah could barely make out what her sister was telling her. Her sister said she was in Silent Hill, and desparately needed her help. And Sarah, feeling guilty all these years for leaving her sister behind when she ran away, dropped everything including her job, to find out just what was going on in the town.
NOTE: There are things about her past I have not revealed as of yet. They will play into her plot line, and will be revealed as the RP goes on.
Unique Nightmare: A young woman wearing a white nightgown several sizes too small, barefoot, with long mussy jet black hair and black eyes. The figure is always seen crying blood, and there's a large gash across her throat, always bleeding profusely. Every time this figure looks at her, Sarah loses her breath, starts getting dizzy, and can barely keep her feet. She carries a spiked whip in one hand, a stiletto dagger in the other.
