The story picks up 25 years after the events in DC and the actions taken by the lone wanderer(Male).
Megaton's people have all grown and their children now populate the city, Gob has taken over the saloon, Maggie and Harden are a married couple who work together to run the small city, Nova had a son(No knowing of the father), Mik, who is the town mechanic now, and Moira still runs the supply shop but is currently suffering some mental instability. The church of atom was disbanded when a strange flying machine took the bomb from the center of the city. The homes of Burke and LW are open to new residents and the old church is now town hall.
Paradise Falls becomes the town of Paradise after the LW wipes out the slaver menace. Numerous settlements who have suffered from the slaver town have left their homes and joined to defend Paradise. Leadership is found in a council of peers where many voices have risen and occasionally clash.
Canterbury commons is abandoned by all but The Mechanist and his legion of robots. Recent trader reports claim that the strange flying machine has been seen here more often than anywhere in the wasteland.
Arefu has been overrun by slavers and has become a much smaller base since their loss of Paradise. New leadership has been found in a man called Berg: cold on the inside, the outside, bigger than you can believe, and pale skin that is boarderline gray. Rumor has it that Berg is a rare super mutant variation.
The Battle of Arefu destoyed The Family, leaving only Vance who hunts raiders and slavers in the night as he tries to avenge the family he lost that night. He has done well as many traders will come across cut and scorched bandits that would have otherwise ambushed them int he night.
Rivet City has grown as well with the urbanization that has taken place in the wasteland, putting many people on the flight deck in shacks and tents while the upper class house themselves within the ship. The Commonwealth would not come looking for Harkness again, but the android eventually informed the council of his true identity and will remain security chief for many decades to come. Most shops still remain in the hands of their previous owners while new shops open and new owners, like Bryan, take over their families business. Pinkerton still hides in the shadows of Rivet City on his portion of the ship, but the expansion threatens to reveal he still lives and is that he is a far different man with Harkness's technology.
Republic of Dave is still very much the Republic of Dave. Girdershade and Andale have become abandoned by their residents who had joined other settlements or were over run.
Underworld was abandoned for two major reasons: The first being a major invasion of feral ghouls in to the museum, it is believed that the ferals have evacuated the metro tunnels for some unknown reason. The second reason is the renovated Ten Digits Tower(Formerly Tenpenny) where many ghouls have taken residence and more come everyday. It is now rumored that a lone ghoul wanders among the ferals and has been nicknamed Hades.
Oasis lives on as Herbert/Bob has flourished with the nutrients of his friends corpse, covering the entire mountain in tree's and grass. This has brought new tree minders to protect the not-so-secret cause. The greenery has gained much attention and many are attempting to find a way to either turn a profit or start a farm with the help of Herbert. This worries the newly elected Leafmother Yew that Herbert may be taken advantage of and she doesn't wish this on her friend.
Lamplight eventually was also abandoned as the last true citizen grew up and left for Paradise. The cavern is now believed haunted and usually avoided by superstitious scavengers.
Vault 101 was opened by Overseer Amata and many vault dwellers chose to remain after glimpsing the horrors of the wasteland. Some outsiders also managed to buy their way into the vault sparking enough growth and commerce to keep 101 stable for at least a decade or two.
The Temple of the Union would found the town of Lincoln at the feet of the Lincoln memorial where they would protect all people who wanted to be free.
The Brotherhood have returned to their purpose to find technology and weapons after reconnecting with the west and discovering the holocaust that has befallen their people. Taking in their once outcast brethren, the BoS has gone dark on their mission to protect the wasteland as they focus on the gathering of knowledge instead.
The Regulators, in the absence of a protecting BoS, has had to become a larger force in the battle against evil. Sonora Cruz has enlisted the help of many honest merc's into her ranks to battle raiders and super mutant across the wasteland. Most Regulators do not understand why the Brotherhood abandoned the wasteland they had long safeguarded, which has lead to a great deal of resentment toward the group.
Talon Company fought to the last man during the battle of Four Forces, a battle between the LW, a super mutant behemoth, Talon Company, and a number of Feral Ghouls. This was the last sighting of LW, taking place in a metro tunnel junction.
GNR HQ would become occupied by Reilly's Rangers after the withdrawal of the Brotherhood, who would aid Threedog in spreading the message of the 'Good fight' all across the wasteland. Sadly Threedog's days are numbered as he had contracted a terminal illness that is making it harder for him to broadcast everyday. Will GNR go silent or will another voice take to the waves?
The LW was known for many good dead in the wasteland, but what may not be as well known was just how well the hero 'got around'. In his wake there are a number of DC women who carry his children. His whole body was never found at the Battle of 4F, only his hand and his pip-boy 3000 remained at the end of the carnage leaving much doubt that the LW survived.
This is the wasteland as we know it and you live here. If you don't try to survive you probably won't. If thirst and hunger don't get you, Malice just might. Malice is an organized raider faction coming down from the north like Mongols on Humvees
Their mission is massive conquest which is made possible by prewar fission-powered vehicles. They have moved quickly through the wasteland and rumor has it they are mobilizing just north of DC before they launch their lightning invasion.
The question isn't will you be good or evil, that truely doesn't matter now. What matters is, will you step up to defend what is yours? Will you fight against the storm that threatens your home? Will the wasteland be safe against this new foe or will you let it fall to its doom?
