Plagued: A Fantasy of Peril
Three siblings rule over the planet, granted each one large continent of land by their father, the God of All Creation. These three siblings are named Ulrich, Urkwia and Ucen. As they often fought, their father ensured they would all be given the same amount of land to rule over if they could stay out of one another's way. Yet the God of All Creation secretly hoped the lands and his children would find their own way to make peace with one another. Ulrich is the eldest of the young Gods and rules over the Natural elements on his land called Ulrichia. There, people worship the God of Nature and are capable of wielding the elements of air, water, earth, etc. Urkwia is the middle Goddess between her two brothers and she was granted the gift of Darkness and thus is known as Urkwia, Goddess of Darkness. Her worshipers live in Urkwiasta, and thrive with space, time, necromancy, shadow-play, etc. The youngest God is Ucen and he was given rule over the last landmass called Ucena. He is called the God of Light and those who live in Ucena are able to use fire, lightning, etc. And for many years, the world was able to steadily move along through time, each of the lands (Ulrichia, Urkwiasta and Ucena) staying clear of one another that is until their bastard sister named Uuu, decided to have some fun. Uuu was never loved by her parents nor her three siblings, she was cast into the depths below, never given any land or people to rule over. So most forgot about her.
Uuu decided to have some fun, as she was bored, this trick of hers resulted in chaos for the world.
Since Ulrich, Urkwia and Ucen never got along, they could only suspect the trickery was caused by one of them and not their exiled sister, Uuu. In turn, each sibling punished their siblings land. Since Nature defeats Darkness, Ulrich sent a plague to harm Urkiasta. Since Darkness defeats Light, Urkwia sent a plague to harm Ucena. And since Light defeats Nature, Ucen sent a plague to harm Ulrichia. The three landmasses of the world were now at war with one another, religion and faith thrown into the wind of chaos. Before the God of All Creation could step in and subdue the wars and slander, Uuu killed him and vowed to take over the world and claim all lands as her own. Her real father's identity is unknown to her. She left her mother alive but is holding her captive. The three God of the World have no choice but to flee and find their mother and bastard sister, leaving their own lands to suffer in agony.
Our story will begin at one of the few locations where plague, famine, etc have not reached.
Our characters will be ambassadors from each landmass, meeting on a large singular island known as the God of All Creation's Burial. There, people are safe from sickness and stress and combat. Our group will all have gotten a summons from their respective deity but upon arrival they soon discover it was The God of All Creation who summoned them before his death, not his children. The God of All Creation has personally selected individuals who he believed could bring harmony to a struggling world. A female historian by the name of Querene is waiting to escort the group around the globe to begin a series of tasking events to calm the troubled waters of the world. This female historian claims she was also summoned by The God of All Creation but unknown to our travelers and those gifted with magic, she is really Uuu, Damned Mistress of the Outlands. While her siblings let the world rot, she will be there to pick up the ruins and claim them as her own, even if it means masquerading as someone who really has faith in what has given her life misery.
In the OOC, there will be an outline of how magic works, why it works, etc.
To sort of help you along before I put out too much thought in an IntChk, there will be spell books of various levels and factions of land and the magic someone rules over. It is entirely possibly to be well versed in several types of magic, in fact I kinda recommend it, however your level of expertise will have to be lower if you decide to know more general spells and not have one or two concentrated areas of study for magic. I'm pretty sure I'll use Latin for spells or maybe Greek or something like that. I will say that gems may be used to amplify spells cast or to hinder magic, for whatever reason. Our roles will be those who are at east in their upper twenties because let's face it, The God of All Creation wouldn't put the fate of the world in the hands of kids. He just wouldn't. Pay to mind to his children who can't get along hahaha. Anyway, when a spell is cast, it will be coming from an amulet someone is wearing, hence why more or less can make a difference to one's abilities. If their amulet is damaged, then they cannot cast magic and must repair it or find something new to use.
I'll also add in here that I foresee us as a small to medium group for the sake of wanting variety. So 3-4 spots will be open, depending if people double or not. (I always do and will probably triple for this one as I'll be Querene and maybe a couple more roles but I don't know for sure yet.) As far as character sheets go, this one will be fairly time consuming for the sake of weeding out lazy roleplayers and those who are actually interesting. The sheet will have three sections: the RPer, The RP'ers character and The Character. The first sections is brief, outlining the player themselves, a post sample, etc. The second section will be only slightly longer with the player describing their character in general terms. The last section is much longer and will consist of a lot of question/answer situations for the character themselves to answer so we can get a feel for how they'd react in situations, etc. And if the player understands the world enough. I know sometimes people can feel intimidated or not give their character enough thought so this is a way to ease someone into their role and help them out.
So if anyone is interested in knowing more, let me know. If someone can name the lesser known film where I may have gotten inspiration for this, feel free to try your luck! As a note, I am rebooting this as people get into a routine for the start of the academic year. I do have the old OOC on file which I will also reboot once interest is gained. I will be more cautious about who I approve, as I need active players who are also skilled. I don't mind if posts don't come every day or even every week but this has to move at some definitive steady pace even if it's just the OOC while we complain about life while still making a note to make IC posts whenever possible around our schedules. I am looking for a small cast, if you can double that's even better (less people to wait on but more roles to develop/interact) but it all will depend on the CS as a finished product. So again, if you honestly have free time and are interested, raise a hand and give a shout.
