Name: Anthony Joplins
Personality: Anthony would like to believe that he encompasses the true meaning behind the duality of man. On one hand he is shown to be an extremely chivalrous and pleasingly witty character, never forgetting his manners and always attempting to talk his way through the many trials and tribulations of life. There lurks, however, an abrasive, condescending and aggressive side which rears it's head whenever Ant feels threatened intellectually. Being a sociopath ultimately means that Ant has not a care in the world for anything but his own gain, coupled with an air of superiority makes for one hell of a deceiver. He greatly enjoys chocolate and old gangster movies as well as being deeply selective about his taste is music.
Equipment: 1 x Rucksack, 1 x Notepad, 1 x Set of 5 Drawing Pens, 150 gr Golden Virginia tobacco, 4 x Small Rizla paper packs, 100 x Filters, 1 x Lighter, 1 x Can Opener
Right-Brained: Anthony possess a natural affinity for the arts, be it writing short stories for children or drawing up tattoo designs for friends, Anthony excels at creativity.
Manipulator: Anthony is well-versed in human psychology, therapy and neuroscience. This odd hobby of his arises from his desire to emulate empathy, however it soon developed into sociopathic manipulation. He justifies this as a necessity to his survival.
Public Shame: Ant harbors a morbid fear of being bested in any way publicly. Any form of embarrassing exposure can cause him to break down mentally, and very rarely, physically. This fear is also his weakness as in much smaller instances, being defeated in 1 v 1 debate for example, can cause him to 'feel' anger and sadness.
Sociopath: Being diagnosed from the age of 15 as an uncaring machine-like entity was something Ant didn't entirely hate. Infact it served to become the very core principal of his being, the very reason he continues to live. The lack of emotion is something Ant believes sets him above most 'ordinary' people. What he doesn't realize is that emotion is pivotal to growth, of which he hasn't done any since.
History: Born into a situation riddled with poverty, Anthony's parents were not fit to raise a child at the young ages of 19 and 20 respectively. Despite this their parents would not see both children have a newborn out of wedlock. And thus began the Joplin family, the father; Steve, a full-time drug dealer who due to the pressure of his work, and the constant self abuse of his product, would consistantly beat his wife; Linda, hair-dresser at the local salon and loving mother, also lover of alcohol. Admist both adults chaos was the boy; Anthony Joplins, who spent his time trying to avoid his stoned father, alcoholic mother and everything else in between. He learned to simply not feel and not give his abusive father the satisfaction of seeing the pain in his young eyes. He also had to be strong for his mother, without whom he would not exist, nor have a frame of reference to what love truly is. Books being friends, his body developing as the years race by, discovering his above average intelligence as the school tests fall before him, Anthony had resolved to better everyone's life by becoming 'perfect'. Someone who was capable of being everyone's man, capable of solving all problems and filling countless roles. The only thing stopping him was his hateful father, who by this point had degraded into a couch-sinking beer-swilling slob. He had to go and Anthony knew exactly how, weren't there hundreds of cases of self-defense being rung up every day? Ant waited for the next incident involving his father and violence. As the man approached him, fists bunched and mouth spraying spittle and curses, Steve would find that his son had prepared for this moment. As the marble slab Ant swung towards his head connected, the last thing Steve would ever see was the smiling, insanely happy tearful face of his son as he watched his father die. 18 years old and free.
Of course, there is fallout for everything. A teenager who was willing to beat his dad to death, albeit in self-defense, would still have to answer to his crime. Thus he was shipped of to the ward for psychiatric evaluation, to a place where he could do no harm. The next 3 years were spent, once again, on Ant's attempt at building the perfect person within himself. His mad desire to fit into society perfectly drove his passion for literature and the arts overwhelmed him, along with a fascination for psychology. If he could figure out how people worked, he could make them do what he wanted. Perhaps he could even convince them to let him out of here...
