Hey so yeah I tried this before, but realized I had to really work on the story so here it is !
The setting is in America in the 1870s. There are two major groups right now The Silver Cross, lead by Father Marshall, and the Broken Cross, haven't decided yet. There are many different types of magical creatures that roam the country side, some good others not so much. You have the option of being a member of either order, or being a magical creature. Feel free to give some of your ideas that you think will help.
Sirens- These are stunningly beautiful creatures that have the power to cloud the minds of weak willed men and women, they are marine based monsters that require living flesh to survive. They can indeed leave the water to hunt but there physical abilities are weakened as a result, such as their rapid healing. If seduction does not work Sirens have the power to unleash a horrible screech that is known to cause victims to be rendered unconscious. The way to tell a Siren from normal mortals is that there is a faint smell of the ocean coming from them. The only known way to kill a siren is to decapitate it while it's out of the water.
Spirits- These are the echoes of former living people who could or would not move on to the afterlife upon their death, they are not in nature evil merely lost people that are confused. Though some do pose threats to the living, these are the ones the silver cross hunt, by intentionally looking to harm people for a number of reasons, most unknown. They have been known to possess the living, cause visions, and change the temperature around them. Their influence on the physical world is known to vary from spirit to spirit, worse case known is the complete collapse of a three story house. There are two ways to "kill" a spirit one being the salting and burning of it's earthly remains, second is solving why it is stuck on this plane of existence.
Vampires- These are beings of the undead that crave the blood of the living. Vampires are almost immortal beings that stop ageing upon their turning, having the strength and speed of ten men, they are best known for their ability to seamlessly blend mortal society. They can go with out feeding, but as a result their bodies will start to decompose until they are nothing but walking dried skin and bones, though most go feral from this process. The traits that tell a Vampire from mortals are their normally pale complexion and their sharpened teeth. There are a number of ways to wound Vampires, such as holy water will burn them, fire can hold them back, and a wooden stake to the heart will paralyze them until it's removed. But the only true way to kill a Vampire is to expose it to direct sunlight.
Werewolves- These are beasts in human skin that turn on nights the moon is full. Werewolves come in two kinds, Alphas and Betas. A Beta is the most common type of Werewolf to come across, they are created by being bitten by either an Alpha or Beta, most Betas have a very limited control over their power. They can be forced to change by an Alpha or the full moon. Both in human and beast form they have sharper senses and are much faster and stronger than mortals, being able to run down and rip apart horses while the beast. Alphas are more rare than Betas, witch is a blessing to many mortals. They are born by a Beta obtaining complete control of it's inner beast witch in turn allows it to affect the beasts of others. An Alpha is able to turn at will and are greatly more powerful then Betas, moving twice as fast and are twice as strong. Most Werewolves travel in packs, normally lead by an Alpha, making camps in thick woodland areas. There are common traits to tell a Werewolf from normal mortals, such as they are larger in size, their finger nails are longer and slightly pointed. Silver is the only known way to both really harm and kill a Werewolf.
Witches- These are mortals that have the power to wield magic. There are two types of Witches First Generation and Second Generation. First Generation Witches are mortals that willingly sold their souls to a demon in exchange for power, they lost their conscience in the process and are unable to fell remorse as a result. Second Generation Witches are the result of the union of two other Witches, First or Second Generation. They are born with magical powers but still retain their souls, leaving them with their conscience in take. They have all the magical potential as First Generation Witches, they can remove their soul but the process is not reversible. Witches mostly live in covens lead by three, usually all First Generation. The trait that shows a Witch's true nature is that they produce a type of black aura when they are around holy objects or ground. A Witch can be only be killed by being burned to death.
The Silver Cross- It is organization that existed for centuries, living to protect mortals from the monsters in the dark that prey on them. It is wide spread through out the world, though the branch in America is still relatively small compared to others. Their headquarters in America is a chapel known as "Eden", which has large underground chambers used for both housing and a training ground for new recruits. This chapter is headed by Father Marshall, a long term member of the order and trainer of the newest arrivals. Every agent is given a silver cross to carry with them on their quests.
The Broken Cross- This is a relatively new group only going back a few decades. The Broken Cross formed when several of the members of the Silver Cross agreed that the organization was too lenient with magical creatures, believing that all should be hunted hostile or not, upon leaving Eden each agent broke the silver cross that was given to them. They set up a base in a network of caves they call "The Forge", stating anyone who goes in comes out a warrior. They use the same techniques to hunt monsters that the Silver Cross uses, save they believe civilian casualties are acceptable.
People To Know:
Father Aengus Donald Marshall- Father Marshall is sixty-eight, a seasoned veteran, having spent over fifty years with the Silver Cross, he has built up the reputation as a great tactical mind, even being the one who invented the "holy fire" explosive. He was born in Scotland and joined the order at the age of sixteen. Rising through the ranks he came to be quite the hunter. As the years passed and he aged he was given the title "Father" and the mission to establish a branch of the Silver Cross in America. He now works as the branch's overseer training new recruits. He is a tall and stocky man with a thick Scottish accent, graying black hair and fair skin, his most notable feature are his eyes they are a soft green that makes the brute of a man seem very approachable.
The Cross's known Arsenal:
Silver crosses- The crosses given to agents are a vital part of their survival. It is used to bless weapons, water, buildings, and even people who can't protect them selves.
Silver bullets- These are the stander ammunition for the whole order used in all fire arms.
Holy water- Is to be carried at all times.
Cross bow- Is an option to carry, bested used when stealth is needed.
Silver dagger- For hand to hand encounters, you better hope you never have to use this.
Holy fire bombs- Are small bottles that once shattered combust in to flames, Thank you Father Marshall.

1. No godmodding, think everyone can agree with this one.
2. No OOC crap talk, you can be an ass IC all you want but check it at the door once you go to OOC.
3. If you're going to be absent for awhile just shoot me a heads up, no big deal.
4. No killing other people's character without their permission, pretty simple.
5. I have no problem with mature RPing just give a little heads up to when you going to do it.
