ATTENTION!!! There are no playable humans in this. There is no human-vampire romance. To hell with cliches, we're breaking those new traditions! We are relying on the older vampire myths and are trying to do this as realistically as possible. Better study up on you're old-fashioned, non-pussified blood suckers, because you're taking a ride you'll never forget!
Vampires are rare, gifted beings with an added curse. While they are given a slew of powers and a powerful intellect, they must feed on the blood of humans (and ONLY humans) to survive. The slightest bite of food or the smallest sip of drink will cause heavy vomiting, since the body refuses to accept food anymore. They are located only in certain areas of Eastern Europe, particularly spots in Romania. Our story begins with the first vampire...
They called him Alessandro. It meant "Defender of Mankind" in an old language. The name has been put to shame since he was born. Alessandro is the only case of a vampire who has been born, not created by fangs or rituals. He is truly the vampire god, for he has lived for well over a millennial, and is the root of all vampires. Alessandro would have turned the entire population into vampires by now, but he makes them a rare occurrence so his race can live off the humans without a shortage. So far, there is only about 1-3 in most Romanian villages and towns.
Alessandro has always kept the world rule-free for vampires, leaving them able to figure it out for themselves. But there is one rule he enforces with absolute seriousness: Always kill the living when feeding, never let them become a vampire. It's for this reason that Alessandro made three heirs that would perform the duties of vampiric reproduction. They were Dario, Leandro, and Thana.
Dario was the first to be gifted with vampirism and the trust of Alessandro. He was symbolized by the color red, and so all his subjects have red eyes. Dario's tree of vampiric children are often given the wisdom of the vampire race, which means they are often the ones to help enforce and uphold the rules of the vampire families. They are also very intelligent and very quick-witted. They cannot handle silver, but are by far the fastest vampires on foot.
Leandro was the second, and he was symbolized by the color gold. All his subjects have golden eyes, or rarely silver. Some even have mixed silver-gold eyes. His subjects bare the traits of high wealth, an inclination to count money frequently, and are the only vampire type that can touch and handle silver.
Thana was the third, and the only female of the group. She is symbolized by the color purple. The eyes of her subjects are often of changing colors, however. They are primarily reddish-brown, purple or grey when in a content and calm state. Thana's children of the night often are very creative, and considered incredibly strange by other vampire families. They are the ones that came up with wearing cloaks. Her children are the most physically superior, having incredible reflexes, immense strength and powerful senses. Their incredible sense of smell makes garlic (and any other smelly items) unbearable to be around.
The three vampires families are currently in a state of peace, but trouble is brewing. A disease is spreading to humans, otherwise known as the Black Plague. It kills the humans before the vampires can get to them, and the humans are blaming vampires for the plague. Someone needs to do something, before they both get wiped out.
There are three vampire families, each containing a different breed of vampire. They each have their own strengths, weaknesses and behavioral traits. The three families are ruled by Dario, Leandro and Thana.
Dario is nicknamed "The Red King", and his subjects are often called "Sanguines". They are often considered the vampire standard.
Sanguines are known to have the most control over their bloodlust, are known for their high intelligence, and often have great speed, agility and balance.
Weaknesses- They cannot handle silver, and dislike the presence of salt.
Strengths- They have a high running speed, unmatched agility, and balance that is much like a cat.
Common Powers- Shapeshifting (into owls, foxes, or other "clever" animals), Physical Superiority (In terms of speed, balance, agility, ect.), Invisibility, Telekinesis, and Telepathy.
Leandro is often called "The Treasure Keeper", and his subjects are called "Goldenbloods". They are often seen as the "snobby" and aristocratic vampires.
Goldenbloods are best known for their ability to handle and carry silver, though that is not their only strength. They often have enough money that they could buy human slaves to feed off of.
Weaknesses- Goldenbloods have an almost irresistible need to count money or valuable items in their spare time. They are the least physically superior form of vampires, and they also feel uncomfortable around salt.
Strengths- Goldenbloods are the only vampire breed that can touch silver. And they are often rich, so they usually just buy slaves or whores to feed off of.
Common Powers- Shapeshifting (Into hawks, eagles, and big cats such as lions), Flight (without the usage of an animal form), Transmutation (Using a form of magic to convert certain items into other things, like water to ice), Invisibility, and Hypnotizing Mortals.
Thana is usually nicknamed "The Lunar Queen", and her subjects are called "Lunarbloods" (though many make fun of them and say "Lunatics"). They are often known as the "stereotypes" of the vampire world, having come up with wearing cloaks. But their seemingly unnecessary ideas and lack of seriousness masks a mad brilliance. After all, cloaks help one hide in the shadows...
Lunarbloods are often creative, odd and utterly strange. Many of them are considered insane, but they are actually brilliant minds masked behind a madly grinning visage. They are so "crazy" that they will spend up to three hours just to pick out an outfit to go with the theme of their next feeding. As a hobby, many Lunarbloods turn to the world of acting and theater to keep their slightly unstable emotions in check.
Weaknesses- Lunarbloods tend to be a little bit insane, their slightly unstable emotions often get them into trouble, and they are typically a bit childish. They will dive into a lake in public to retrieve a favorite object, and some are known to play with toys, regardless of age. They cannot handle silver (though some may find it "pretty"), and the presence of salt seems to drain their hunger faster.
Strengths- Despite the mad facade, Lunarbloods are often very smart and clever, sometimes compared with Sanguines. They also have incredible strength, senses and an ability to talk telepathically with animals.
Common Powers- Shapeshifting (Usually into wolves, bats, moths, spiders or rats), Physical Superiority (In terms of strength, sense of smell, hearing, ect, and things like that), Invisibility, and communicating with animals telepathically.
Alessandro hasn't been heard from in centuries, but he is treated as a god or deity. If he approaches you, one should be at their most respectful. No telling what he'll do to you for the slightest rude gesture. No one even knows what he looks like, but the three families seem to have their own ideas. The only ones who know what he looks like are Dario, Leandro and Thana.
These are the default powers, which you are free to change a tiny bit to suit your fancy. You can only have three of these default powers per character, plus one or two relating to the Vampire Family you are in.
Shapeshifting - Turn into an existing animal. See the Dario, Leandro or Thana tabs to see what each family is capable of. You can also request a form if they don't have something you like.
Invisibility - Pretty simple. You can't be seen by mortals or vampires.
Telepathy - Speak to other beings via thinking and projecting that thought onto said being.
Flight - Fly or hover without any visible wings or forms of propulsion.
Physical Superiority - You have some physical abilities that are at least three times better than a human's. Strength, speed, senses, agility and balance fall into this category.
