The world has gone dark. In early April of 2013, an infection of unknown origins began to sweep far and wide across the globe. Soon, humanity learned that all who died not only rose again, but fed upon the warm flesh of their fellow man. The only to stop these beasts from the nightmares of the darkest people, was to destroy their physical brain, and burn the bodies for good measure.
Months past, the death rate climbing and climbing to a staggering 90% within the first eight months. Small groups, almost tribal in nature, tried desperately to survive in this new world, even hard still they tried to keep a grasp to the society we once held so dear. Some, however, believed it was already too late for mankind. Deterioration in social structure proceeded to exponentially squash out most of the groups of survivals as previously unforgiveable crimes (i.e. rape, murder, thievery, etc.) became common place on the roads.
As the first year post-infection drew to a close, most soon discovered that “all who die, turn”. Common knowledge was that any person that died, whether by illness or the gunshot, would promptly rise to their feet with an unquenchable hunger. The walkers began to form into large herds, stragglers wandering aimlessly in the new world. Survivors were forced to batten down their belongings, stake claims on territory, and try to rebuild as a bitter winter drew in on them in the year of 2014. The turning of the New Year has seen two new city-states rising in the ruins of Stuttgart. A frequently asked question is: will both survive the year? In this new world, there is one rule to live by… Fight the dead, and fear the living.
Right, so, simply put there are two groups of survivors hunkered down in the greater metropolitan area of Stuttgart and the surrounding Administrative Districts. The first of which is the FC-Stuttgart football stadium, Mercedes-Benz Arena which sits roughly 6km outside the Stuttgart city-center. There are close to ninety survivors held up inside the secure arena with an array of weapons, a large supply of ammunition, four vehicles, and a metro-bus. Their food supply is rough, though they attempt to grow food on the property and scavenge as they can.
Outside the city, in Renningen, roughly 32km from the prison, is a small Academy, the Gymnasium Renningen. A three-story building in the middle of a small town west of Stuttgart, it is home to roughly twenty survivors of all assorted homelands. A small supply of weapons and ammunition, a generous food storage, medical supplies from the school’s “Red Cross Volunteer” office, and about five vehicles make up the school’s supplies.
Though most of the survivors in both of these locations are German nationals, there are a handful of Americans, Brits, French, Swiss, Italians, and even Swedes and Russians. The New Year has just passed and the winter is brutally cold this year. What will happen? Nobody can tell. So make a CS and let’s see who we get!
