What would you do if the world ended?
Would you grieve? Would you cry?
Would you take the opportunity to rise above others?
Or would nothing really change at all?
Staying back after school, your character notices a group of chatty girls gossiping about the Genesis rumor. A far-fetched piece of rubbish spouted by a drunk politician. Whether you’re interested in rumors or not, the school’s been abuzz with the rumor and everyone’s heard of the story at least once.
According to the rumor, Eldrich Friedman; one of the nation’s most renown politicians is supposed to be developing a weapon of mass-destruction. Said to be powerful enough to bring the world to its knees. If the rumors are to be believed Friedman intends to bring on a nuclear apocalypse that will wipe out the world’s population so that he can start from scratch, creating a new world where he reigns above all others as a living god…
It’s obviously just a load of bull, a stupid rumor which was probably started to slander the politician and got out of hand. The world couldn’t possibly-
The earth suddenly trembles beneath your characters feet and the world seems to suddenly brighten, a blinding pillar of bright light exploding into the sky above. The earth now violently shaking with the force of a powerful earthquake. Being near the exit your character runs out of the school building, heading onto the school grounds where are a few students have already gathered.
The moment you escape the building though, their eyes fall on a gigantic tree which has magically sprouted smack bang in the middle of the school grounds. Pink flower petals fluttering through the air. Your character know that you should be more worried about what’s occurring around them, but for some reason they’re captivated by the beauty of the tree, walking slowly towards it amidst the chaos unfolding around them. The next thing they know they’re falling, falling into a sea of crimson red petals, the world vanishing around them in an instant.
They pass out.
This is the beginning of the end. Human and animal life has pretty much been completely wiped from the planet with only a handful of students surviving what would later to be revealed to be known as the ‘Conception’ the pre-stage of Creation which is due to occur in a month’s time. Three Cherry Blossom Tree’s have sprouted, one at the school, another in the center of shopping mall, and another across town at a small shrine. The only survivors of the conception are those that managed to make it to the sea of fallen flower petals before the end of the old world.
Characters have survived the Conception, but to survive Creation they must attain at least three magatama’s. Small curved stones filled with the Prana, the essence of life. These stones have been scattered throughout the city. Out of the survivors, a new god/goddess will be chosen to reign over the new world. Magatama also offer element based powers, strengthening as more are collected.* The Conception last for 30 days. The Rp will start on the day of a New Moon and end with a Full Moon.
* Magatama can not be shared, once a power is used by a human survivor it can not be used until the former user becomes deceased. It does however count as one of the three magatama’s required to survive.
Those that did not survive The Conception have followed one of three fates.
- They vanished from existence instantly, knowledge of their existence blurry and rapidly fading from the memories of even the survivors.
- They became ‘Ghosts’ wispy transparent silhouettes of their former selves. Often bound to the spot they perished, they are sinners. Souls which have been rejected by the ‘Great Will.’ And doomed to suffer their last few days of existence.
- They mutated into ‘Shadows.’ Abominations that miraculously survived the Conception at the expense of their mind, soul and body. Starved of ‘Life’ they strive to devour anything that moves, even their own kind. They are naturally drawn to the magatama and hence most will be in the possession of a Shadow.
-Characters will not start with any powers, but just a list for dibs.
-Powers are exclusive of one another (Fire user can only use Fire).

A Desirable Participant should be: (SAP)
‘Skillful: Post should be no shorter than 300w. More importantly posts should be coherent and easy to read. Errors occur all the time, but each post a participant makes should not require deciphering. It would also be preferable if applicants could indicate if they are willing to play an NPC. (NPC: A character who is not part of the main cast, but appears sporadically, and is relevant to a characters plot, or the overarching plot)
Active: I would like participants to post daily, though one every two days will be acceptable on occasion. A minimum of 3 posts are required minimum weekly or a warning will be issued, followed by termination of participation. On the other spectrum, players do not HAVE TO wait for others, but no more than 3 posts are to be made by any individual on any given day. (Notice of Absence (NOA) Excepted from this rule)
Proactive: Participants are expected to get involved, and act without needing prompts. If a character sits in alone in a corner and waits for something to happen they will likely be ignored. I am supportive of player initiative, and unless lore-altering, do not mind players implementing ideas without consultation.
