Prepare yourself, for you have just entered the Out Of Character (or OOC for short) of Dusk's End, a western 'choose your own adventure' rp with decidedly spooky elements. You journey will start here, where you will learn of the game's premise, type of posting format, my own criteria for you to enjoy this game fully and finally a way for you to create your very first Dusk's End character. That's right, I said first, for, if you want to go far in resolving this mystery, it certainly won't be the last, for with risks comes great rewards!
Now, as promised, I present to you the initial premises to this strange and deadly tale.
You are a traveler in the year of 1881, in June, to be precise, who is fleeing the outlaw heaven that is Tombstone, Arizona, for greener pastures, chased away with but a horse and the possessions you still had on your body. Galloping away into the sunset, you soon find yourself all alone on a dusty road at night, utterly lost after a sandstorm waylaid you from your path earlier. Not all is lost, however, for a small town appear in the light of the full moon: one Dusk's End, a place you never heard of before, nor seen on any map you once perused.
Something feel wrong... but you are parched, as is your steed, and you must find some place to stay for the night to evade the cold of night and the poisonous stings of the scorpions and the bite of deadly serpents populating the desert plains.
You have no choice but to press forward.
Now, as I said earlier this is heavily influenced by old 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books, with myself acting as the Narrator, controlling Dusk's End's inhabitants as well as various events your character may get mixed into and yourself using your own characters as some guinea pigs, exploring and uncovering mysteries as well as gaining rewards as you go along.
The setting of each post will thus be like this:
I will first post a premise and environmental information about the scene, followed by a prompt of action.
You will then answer that prompt as succinctly as possible in a red boldness and follow it up with a more detailed description of your character's action of at least two hundred (200) words, no less, but you can certainly post more. Failing to do so will at first earn you a warning, and at the second infraction an expulsion, as I intend for this to stay as a Casual roleplay.
Before you can start your first character, you must understand and abide to these simple guidelines:
Post at least 200 words per post, and answer the prompt in as a daring and ingenious way as you can.
Use a spellchecker, for it may save you quite a bit of typos and misspellings!
Await my post at the start of each round to post, so no posting twice in a round. For discussions, do them in Pms and post the result in your IC post.
Now, here is the character sheet, please post them below each time you need to make a new character. Only one character at a time per player is accepted.
Appearance: (picture in a hider, a description, or both.)
Greatest Vice: (I talk of either a cardinal sin or a dependance. Feel free to put in both.)
Greatest Weakness: (At what is your character awful at?)
